After driving 3-5 miles, the thumpingwould go away, but not entirely. The thumping and vibration was felt in the steering. The consumer also stated the tires that came as standard equipment performed badly during snow and ice conditions. The dealer replaced the flasher, but it didn't make any difference. The consumer stated it was still too quiet.

The 2005 kia sedona i own has been plagued by numerous problems. The first of which is a brake malfunction. It was thumping when braking at high speeds then grinding when braking at low speeds. The pads have been replaced, rotors machined, then they were replaced. Also, there is a joint or strut problem b/c . When you go over a bump in a residential neighborhood it sounds creaky and as if it might snap. Also, power door locks have been serviced twice. In addition the steering wheel is very shaky. The dealer blamed that on alignment. Also, the tires need to be replaced at less than 25k and probably have needed to be replacedsince 15k. This is due to the brake problem i am certain. All attempts to have these issues resolved have been blown off by the dealer -- until 11/07 when i demanded that there was indeed something wrong.

In the first 12 months of owning the car that i purchased brand new, i have blown an original equipment tire(no punctures - belt exposed); had the door locks and compartment lid replaced by (no charge). (tiresize: p185/65r14)( dot number:tire size: p185/65r14 )

I bought a 2008 chevrolet aveo ls brand new. Rear drums of back brake replaced at 4,000 miles. Rotors turned at 3,000 miles rotors turned down at 14,000miless. Rotors turned at 22,000miles rotors replaced at 7,500 miles . Rotors /brake shoes needing replaced at 23,500 milestires wore out at 14,000 milesdealer said lack of rotation. Showed documentation on rotation/balance because balance was an issue every 1,000 miles or so. Dealer said no defect found tire manufacture wouldn't replace, neither would chevy brand new tires at 15,500 miles my cost!!! valvepan gasket needing replaced 20,000 miles.

Brake, rotors, tires and power transfer unit replace only at one year of ownership. This is the second year and i have to do it all over again.repair cost off the roof and continue to build up. I don't fell safe driving it because of the fast rate this vital parts consume.dealer continues to tell me that the repair cost is not included in my warranty agreement but i believe manufacturer has to be responsible for the components use to assemble the vehicle.

Sudden tire tread separation of three tires in three weeks. Two in less then 15 miles. Tires are only four years old and only 6000 miles on them. They are the correct size and load e rating kuhmo venture ht for the motorhome that these tires are mounted on. The tread separation had no warning. The manufacture called the first tire failure as a blow out and did not try to replace or inspect the tire for the cause of the failure. I do not longer have the first failed tire. I do have the others two rears that failed in the 15 mile span and the rear that has not failed. They were all rear tires in there original locations in the time frame. I would have expected at least two more years out of the tires before any failure of this type would have happened.

I have a 2009 journey sxt, and the transfer case blew at 12,000 miles due to bad oil at factory, i thought "odd but okay". Atthat time i was informed i needed brakes and rotors. Again i thought odd and questioned why i needed both, it was explained to me that the rotors are so thin that they have to be replaced when replacing brakes. Under warranty but not for brakes about 2 months katerina got the recall after they put the same [xxx] brakes and rotors on there that wasrecalled so imagine my surprise when i had to get them done again at 35/40k to which i had my dad do them and picked out the brake shoes myself. So i drive it for a while another 20k and again i need new tires and brakes and an alignment. So 2000 later cus having "size 225/55/r19" there is only one manufacture and tires are 250 each. Now i am used to having new tires and you rotate them every other oil change and that's it untilyou get up there in mileage again. Not so - 3 weeks later i was back in there because i kept loosing tire pressure well on tire had a nail in it - which they didn't tell me they just said the tires look great they checked them for leaks and found none. One week later i was back in there as tires are loosing air once again. To which they tell me they will reveal them just this once free of charge and i need a new tire as the patch (that i didn't know about) on sidewall blew out. Okay now i am thinking good should be all set but then the dealership told me i had a cracked valve stem and for them to fix it will be another 200. Now when i pay 250 per tire i expect that the valve stem would be replaced and a new one put on. Again nope!!!,!,!!! so very other day we have to put air in my tires. Except one day the valve stem cover came right off and now my car sits. When buying vehicle i was told full sir spare nope again just a donut so if anyone knows why a valve stem would not be replaced when tires are i would sure appreciate some answers.... Thanks journey running me over information redacted pursuant to the freedom

I own a 2009 dodge journey and have had to replace the front brake pads and rotors twice and the rear pads and rotors once.the last replacement for the front brakes was on july 26th 2010 and i was informed today that they need replaced again, after only 11,000 miles.there are many other problems with this car like the paint peeling off, the tires warning badly and now they all 4 need replaced even though i have them balanced and rotated regularly.however, i feel the brake problem is not just my problem, but is also a safety issue for other drivers.

I purchased a leftover new 1998 sportage 4x4 on 4/12/99. The vehicle was manufactured on 3/31/98. I brought my vehicle for autobody repairs on thursday 5/13/99 with 592 miles on it. When i picked up my vehicle on moday 5/17/99 with 594 miles on it the lifters were making a horrible tapping noise. I was informed by the service manager that the noise was due to the vehicle being in storage for over a year and when purchased by myself that a new oil filter and oil change should have been done. After numerous attempts i finally got him to put it in writing and i now have the document as proof. My question is how does a lifter go bad at 594 miles and why didn't a large company such as kia have the insight to provide better customer service upon purchase of a vehicle. I have acessed your complaint files for the 1998 sportage and it printed 21 pages. Can all those consumers be wrong? i do not think so, i feel my suv is on its way to being the lemon that attacked new york. If i was advised of your website prior to my purchase i would have definitely looked to other auto makers. Thank you for your informative site, but i feel that this problem is just the beginning!!!( dot number: )

19 inch kuhmo tires and the suspension on the front end 2009 dodge journey, it rubs under the wheel well causing my front tire to blow out, the other tire is heading in the same direction, worn real bad on inside edge, the spring sits low in the wheel well and when you bounce it hits and rubs.

Tires failed due to mal alignment on all four wheels.when taken to be alighned, they could not be done with the adjustments on the car.additional shims etc had to be added.we left on vacation with only 8900 miles on the car and returned with 13000 on the car.the dealer would not cover this problem under warranty.i notified the manufacturer of this problem.this is a safety problem due to not being able to adjust wheels with the equipment on the new car.you could not tatally see the failure until the car was placed up on a rack for inspection.i don't know if this is an isolated case or a major problem for kia.i have notified them and demanded re-imbursement in the amount of $430.57, since we didn't even have the car for a year. I was driving to a place a short distance from my home when i heard a noise and the car veered to the right.i pulled over immediately and got out of the car.the tire on the right front was blown out at the sidewall and i saw two holes at the inside of the sidewall one above the other.the rim was also destroyed.

While driving on the hwy i started noticing that my vehicle was not driving correctly....after finding the nearest exit a passenger from another vehicle informed me that my tire was flat...when i pulled over i noticed that the tire was completely flat....the tire inspector checked the tire and found several air pockets ....he also noticed that the tire was shreaded severely and had a lots of tire pieces (dust) in the inside....he also went as far as to say that the tire looked as if someone had been cooking inside of it...the tire looked as if it had been at least 3 years old not 1 month. I installed four kumho 795 tires (p185/65r14) on 10/03/2006 on my 2002 chevrolet prism lsi. In november 2008, without any warning, one tire (front passenger side) ruptured on the inside side wall.i was lucky not driving on the highway.the car almost lost control. I went to the dealer (executive wholesale tire, rockville, md) and the dealer insisted i must have hit a pothole. This tire was replaced with a kumho kr-21 free, since kumho offered the road hazard warranty on the 795 tires.after this tire was installed, the tires were rotated.another kumho 795 was rotated to the front passenger side. Less than a month later, i noticed that tire is leaking air slowly.so i took the car to executive wholesale tire. They found a bulge on the inside side wall, exactly the same location on the other tire.the dealer still insisted that i must have hit something and this time i know for sure i did not.both tires have low mileage and the tread looks brand new.for safety concerns, i refused an offer to have it replaced with another free kumho tire.instead, i have all four kumho tires replaced with michelin tires.

Rear right tiredeveloped bubbles andmade noise while driving. Name of tire: kumho, ecsta-hp4, tire size: p185/65r14 dot: number unknown.

I have a set of kuhmo tires - road venture at 285/75 -16 which experienced the same defects as the kuhmo road venture tires currently being recalled (which is sidewall delamination and then blowout) but my tires do not fall under the current recall. These tires are less than 2 years old and i no longer feel safe on them - i will replace them in 2 days. I think that all kuhmo tires of this line should be looked at.

Was driving to arizona with approximately 8000miles on the car and tires. Stopped for a break and noticed the the rear tires going flat. Took the car to dealership and had to pay for new tires. The inside wall on the rear tires were gone with only 8000miles on them . Dealership stated they have never seen anything like this before.purchasing dealership refuses to honor replacement/reimbursement like there is no issue.

While driving on i-485s approx 45 miles drivers side tire blew out. The kuhmo ecsta supra 712 was a replacement set of tires on my l999 mustang gt convertible.the tire is designed to displace water through a large, lateral center channel.from reading descriptions of the tire, this tire design is intended to provide a high level of hydroplaning resistance.as an automotive association executive director with many, many years of operating high performance vehicles, i am truly concerned about this particular design.the tire seems to have signifcant lateral gripping capability both in wet and dry conditions.however, the deep, lateral center channel seems to make this tire unsafe for anything other than a perfectly smooth highway.this groove "grabs" any perfections in the roadway that are parallel to the actual road surface and will actually "snatch" the steering wheel from the grip of the driver.anything in the roadway such as "overpavings" which create parallel ridges, heavy truck traffic lane depressions in the road surface will do likewise.while not a design engineer, it appears that this groove down the center mimics a train wheel on the track.the train can only follow the track due to the track inself being inserted into the train wheel.any imperfection in the roadway that is parallel to the direction of the highway and the rotation of the tire creates a remarkably similar sensation.while i have not had an accident, i have nearly lost control of the vehicle on four occasions when the groove "gripped" any of the aforementioned road imperfections.i am 53 years old, a graduate of numerous decision driving and performance driving schools and am not an amateur in the realm of vehicle operations and dynamics.in all candor, these tires are scary and i will not let my teen daughter drive the car with the new tires. I purchased a brand new 2007 kia rondo on nov.13,2006. Before the car had 20,000 miles on it, i had to replace 2 kumho tires(original on car) because metal wires were showing through. I contacted kumho about their warranty and was told it was due to the way i drove and it was not covered. They did not see the tires and yet made this decision! now i just had 2 more tires put on the car 2 days ago. The tire i intended to replace had metal wires showing through. When my husband brought the two kumho tires home that the dealer took off-we noticed the tire that showed no visible wear on the outside had a large pile of rubber fragments inside. Upon further investigation we noticed that the tire was worn on the inside and that metal wires were showing through. I will be contacting the manufacturer tomorrow morning but expect a run around like last time. According to the tire dealer who changed out my tires-kumho tires are cheap, crappy tires.

On a trip from biloxi, ms to fort myers, fl- approximately 800 miles all 4 tires on a "new" (13,000 miles) kia sorento failed.after several hundred miles of the trip the car began to shake violently and luckily was kept under control.a towtruck had to be called and the car towed to two cities before a dealership could be found to "fix" the car.this meant an overnight stay.the service dept probably didn't understand what happened!they put 2 new tires on, inspected others and alignedthe car- costly service call + 2 new tires.back to the trip and several more hundred miles and again violent shaking.another tire was falling apart!same thing another tow, over night stay, dealer, another tire.both dealers said they would send tires back to kumho for examination.we could not believe, but outside tampa at 10:30 at night-violent shaking.changed the tire on the side of the road in the dark.thank god, no one hurt.had to order a new tire from sears in fort myers for this one.i now have mis-matched tires on my new vehicle- had to buy new tires 30,000 miles before i should of had to- had a family members life in danger, have to worry about damage done from all the violent shaking, was service work done correctly,do i still need an alignment-- it took over 48 grueling, nerve-racking hours for an 11 hour trip- with a lot of extra expenses. Kumho does not want to make us "whole" on this fiasco (we are happy though that it is not a tragedy). By "whole" we mean reimburse us for what was spent on this "mess".they don't seem concerned this is a safety issue.we hope this does not happen to someone else with worse results.you will not believe what the tire we have kept looks like.the air pressure sensors never showed loss of air and the last tire when brought to sears still had air in it.tread is coming off of the tire and the steel belts are frayed.please contact us so we can send you pictures of the tire.thank you for your quick response.

While driveing at between 60-65 mph on two consective days i had massive tire failures on the rear of my truck. In both cases i was traving along at the legal speed level with my truck empty, on a dry roadway, temperature around 100 degrees f. In both cases the truck started to shake real bad and then immediately the tires exploded. In neithe case did the tires loose air. The tread came completely off the casing. I did not loose control of my vehicle because it has dual rear wheels. Both times it did damage the fenders, fender wells, fender liners and fender braces. The tires had about 4,000 miles on them and were inflated to 65 psi. Kumho solus kr-21 tires are missing date of manufacture on the dot line.

The contact owns a 2008 hyundai accent.the vehicle has kumho tires, size 205/45/r16 (na).while inspecting the tire, the contact noticed an abnormal blister in the sidewall of the driver's side front tire.she took the vehicle to a local tire repair shop and was informed that the tire was unsafe.the tire had to be replaced at the cost of more than $100.the technician also added that the tire still had significant tread wear.she called the manufacturer, but has not received a response.the failure and current mileages were 4,509.

Tires have small cuts in sidewalls and front tires are going bald on the outside of the tires when the front end is suppose to be in alignment.i have reported this problem to my dealer and to daewoo/kumho and no one wants to do anything about this. (tiresize: 155/80 r13)

With less than 40,000 miles on the car/tires, one of the front tires blew on the highway.discovered it blew out on the side wall and metal was showing, took the car in and had the tire replaced.we did not keep that tire because we didn't realize it was not an isolated incident.about 2 weeks later the same thing happened to the other front tire.took the car in to have the other 3 replaced and was informed that one of the rear tires was in the same condition and we are lucky it didn't blow out on us.the car has only been inspected by the tire shop and we kept the tires this time for inspection of anyone that can help file some sort of recall or claim.there is still a good amount of tread on the tires.this could very well have caused serious injury or death to my family!

Tread separation problem involving kumho ecsta 711 tires.*mrthe vehicle failed the virginia auto safty inspection due to a violation involving the two front kumho tires.the inspector explained that the tread was separating from the tire due to (his opinion) a shifting of the belts.

Nearly bald tires after 24,000 miles and two years.neither the dealership or the tire manufacturer will take responsibility of any kind.got stuck in very low levels of snow, slide in wet conditions, etc.kumho tires told me that these tires are made out of a compound that are not meant to last more than 20,000 miles.i feel dodge is deliberately cheating their customers by putting such tires on a vehicle they are selling or leasing.
