Hankook optimo h724 tire p205/75r-14dot t7xc hbh. Inside tire wall (back driver side) separated on 04-16-14 traveling i10 west at arizona high way speed limit of 75 mph causing accident. Nothing was run over on highway. Severe, roll-over accident. Mini-van totaled. Purchased at america's tire, san ramon, ca 07-20-13. Tire had ~ 10,000 miles wear on 70,000 mile tire. Tires and pressure checked 8 days prior. Inside wall separations are extremely rare. Suspected manufacturing defect.manufacturing quality control is not hard. Any manufacturing defect that puts human life in danger is not acceptable. Will not purchase hankook tires again. There are reported problems with inside wall cracking on the hankook optimo h725 to the national highway safety transportation administration. I had reported the problem directly to hankook. [xxx], hankook tire, contacted me 04/21/14.he is clearly not interested in the serious nature of a potential manufacturing defect in 2 phone conversations on 04/22/14. I clearly stated several times that my intent in contacting them was from a safety perspective. [xxx], from hankook tire, did not know which manufacturing plant had manufactured the tire even though i had provided the dot number or if there were other known problems with the same model number. If there had been a car next to me or a car behind me or a tree on the side of the highway, there might have been serious injuries or death with that type of inside wall tire separation. Again, let me reiterate how rare and dangerous inside tire wall separations are. There is no ability to control the vehicle in this type of situation. The vehicle jerked to the left, then jerked to the right, and then jerked to the left again before it started to spin 180 degrees and roll. There were no tell-tale warnings (rough ride) of the potential inside tire wall separation like an outside tire wall separation. A tire manufacturer who is lackadaisical about safety is deeply troubling.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information

Hankook optimo 725 p205/55r16 tires sidewall with extreme cracking!very similar to the hankook dynapro recall. Cobalt has very low mileage, so many consumers may not be experiencing a problem of this sort due to a car with higher mileage (and needing a tire change). I have contacted hankook and my new car dealer (kenny ross chevrolet), but has promised me nothing to this point. I am terrified of a blow-out, and possible bodily injury, due to the extent of the cracking sidewalls. Also, these tires are leaking air pressure, which is a big concern that it may well be the valve stem, or possibly the cracking of the sidewalls. All four tires are cracked extensively.

Tire sidewall bulging can't drive with vibration.

The contact owns a 2010 ford flex equipped with hankook optimo h725a tires size p235/60r17 (n/a), dot number 5mjcdfhp4209. The contact stated all four tires were bald. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated the tires were unsafe to drive on and offered no reason for the failure or any assistance. The tire manufacturer was notified. The vehicle manufacturer was notified who offered no reason for the failure or offered any assistance in replacing the tires. The failure was unknown. The failure mileage on the tires and the vehicle was 22,000.

Large split in the front right outside sidewall discovered. Upon inspection, gap was very noticable. Check the remaining three tires and no evidence of the same. Tires have approximately 15,000 miles. We decided to replace all four tires to keep the vehicle "balanced". New tires installed and was asked to come in to the shop to see the other three tires. All three had splits in the sidewall facing to the inside, which could not have been seen unless each tire was pulled off the vehicle. I asked to retain at least two of the tires in my possession, which i have now. I also have pictures of the splits that i hope i will be able to forward somewhere before i complete the complaint. Although there was no injurys, it could have been very catastophic if the tires blew out at freeway speeds.
