I purchase a 2002 chevy suburban on 7/2/05 in delaware county from a dealership. We drove the car to our house in montgomery county and the car didn't move from the house until 7/4/05.on 7/4/05my fiance drove the car to work and the tire exploded from the left front of the car on the way. The car hit the barrier on the right side and bounced off and then proceeded to hit the left side barrier were it came to a stop. The tire was not recoverable. Also the air bag never deployed. The accident happen going north on 309 in bucks county on a straight uphill gradient.the conditions of the road and weather were dry. There is a police report on the incident stating accident happen due to tire failure.according to the inspection sticker the tire was removed and inspected by the dealership. We have been trying to get this settled with the dealership for the past year, since we only had the car for a little more then a day.there response was and still is that there is nothing they can do to help. The estimate we received from the body shop was for $22,000 therefore the car was totaled and is currently sitting in my driveway. The tire was a goodyear wrangler p265/70r17.
The temperature gauge began to fluctuate between normal and hot.one second, you look at the gauge, it is normal, one second later it is hot.when you start the car cold, the antifreeze does not circulate, it goes into the reservoir bottle, and then comes out onto the ground.i have changed the water pump, the radiator cap, and the thermostat three times.it does have a driverside airbag, but it has never deployed.( dot number: tire size: p3515 )
The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 1500 equipped with goodyear wrangler tires, size: c265/65r18, and dot: 4axpjh1r1215. While driving various speeds, the steering failed and the contact heard a loud, abnormal noise under the hood. The failure occurred intermittently. The contact had the battery replaced twice. The contact stated that the battery needed to be replaced again. In addition, all four tires contained bubbles. The tires and battery had not been replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. Preston hood chevrolet (212 hollywood blvd nw, fort walton beach, fl 32548, (850) 610-7278) diagnosed and repaired the vehicle. The repairs were unknown. The vehicle failure mileage was 46,000 the tire failure mileage was unknown.
This vehicle has been a lemon since i leased it and the ford motor company has done nothing to try and stop the problems. They have refused on all accounts to even right up a service complaint so there will be a record of the times i have taken it in for problems. This vehicle is dangerous, it should have been totally taken off the road years ago. The door lock in the rear goes up and down at random and it does it repeatly until i have to shut the car off because i,m afraid it will catch fire. The tires started wearing through when there was only 30,000. Miles on them, and now it will not crank unless i hold the gear shift up past the p mark on the colum and i live on a flat paved road. The ford company said it was from parking on a hill. I live in south east ga, we have no hills.( dot number:)
Model z71 when tranmission burns up it sprays transmission fluid everywhere, and is extremely flamables.it got all over two other vehicles that were behind me, the first time, the second time it got on the exhaust pipe and smoked so bad a passer by was going to call the firedepartment( dot number: tire size: 16 )
I have had this problem 3 times with my vehicle now. The vehicle was having heater problems on highest and second highest speeds. Took the jeep to the dealership and paid deductable on the service contract in october 2002. Dealer replaced the under dash harness, blower motor and the blower motor resistor. I continued to have problems and took it to my personal mechanic that discovered that the heater control module had failled as well. He replaced the heater control module and jeep worked fine for 1 year. The heater began to have the same problems again and my personal mechanic replaced the blower motor, blower motor resistor and the heater control unit as well as replacing a burnt wire. The heater again lasted just over a year before actually catching fire under the dash. The entire under dash harness, blower motor, blower motor resistor and heater control unit were again replaced. No additional problems within the past week after receiving the jeep from the shop.

I was checking for recalls on my 1994 ford ranger and was surprised at how many recalls. The reason being that, my family has owned this vehicle since february 1994, we've only received the firestone recall notice. Ironically, i have had and still have some of the listed components that were recalled as well as as some unlisted components since 1996, these problems have cost my family any where between $1000.00 - $2000.00, every year just in repairs alone. The vehicle barely has 147,000 miles on it and is only used to commute to anf from work, and occassional drives to l.a. County. See list below....07/2002 - vehicle overheated returning home from l.a. The tires are dry rotting with32000miles the dome light stays on had to pull the bulb. The door lock nob on inside of door broke, the brake pad rubber on the pedal i had to replace the new one was worn out the brake pads on the front started squeaking at about 22000 miles the motor uses about one half quart of oil at each oil change and i take it to the dealer( dot number: ? tire size: lt235/85r1 )
I currently have a 1998 ford f150 4.2l engine that has 65000 miles and am experiencing head gasket failure.ford moco stats there is no tsp's or recalls reguarding this.i pulled the owners notification 98b33 off your web site.my engine build date is nov 1997 at the essex plant. I am in the army and am stationed in germany.the dealership here quoted me 2500.00 for the estimate.at this time they will not honor the u.s. Esp purchased from the original dealer.i am currently trying to get this resolved.ford will not give part to me at no cost to fix there defective head gaskets and lower intake manidols gaskets and engine front cover gaskets.they are giving me the run around and can't get me straight answers.i am continuing working with my dealership.i am afraid they will sit on this until my warranty runs out on the 22 january 2003.
Multiple rear axle problems, each diagnosed by owner prior to failure.(the dealer didn't want to admit there was a problem)this vehicle has averaged one new rear axle every year, including this year which i am waiting on parts.the engine's faulty mass airflow sensor quit operation while driving down the rocky mountains on some switchback roads.the engine abrubtly quit running, causing the vehicle to loose steering and braking control.only quick thinking by using the parking brake saved the four people in the vehicle from eminent death.the engine reluctantly restarted after a few seconds and we continued down the mountains.however, a few minutes later the engine died without warning for a second time and we were forced to hold the jeep on the mountainside with the parking brake engaged.i can't believe no one has died from this vehicle!this situation has occured on two separate trips, approximately one year apart, after reprogramming the engine management computer, and replacing the mass airflow sensor and remapping the engine management computer for a second time.for the first two years i owned this vehicle, it was in the shop over 36 times for warranty related repairs.what a piece of junk!( dot number: tire size: p225/65r16 )

Hit small bump on expressway causing 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited to shake violently like the wheels were loose.i had to immediately get off the expressway to check wheels.this could have caused an accident by the initial reaction is to slow down and would have caused a chain reaction (crash).after inspecting vehicle shaking had stopped.

I stopped at a service station to have the air checked.when he put air in the tire, it was leaking more.the tire repair station took the tire off the rim and noticed that the tire was splitting from the inside out.he said he has never seen that happen before....splitting from the inside out.the tire is no good anymore and i still have a lot of tread left on it.he took my spare off, from under the vehicle and noticed that it has been hot and melted the rubber from the exhaust.i have smelled rubber before but thought that was from the air conditioner that i have been having so much trouble with since i bought the vehicle.it has caused an electrical shortage before.the air conditioner is leaking freon and every few months, i have to go have it filled.can't find the leak and have taken it to 4-6 different dealers for the problem.when running the air conditioner, moisture runs down the sides of the dash vents with all the windows closed.the last dealer i took it took, told me that they can't find the leak and believes it is somewhere in the dash.they have been too busy and shorthanded to get to it right now.i have also complained to several dealers about the floor between the drivers seat and passenger seat.i lay my purse on there and when i go to town and pick my purse up, the bottom of my purse is really hot.when i drive for a long period of time, my foot that runs the gas pedal gets really hot and swollen from the heat coming from the same area.the dealers have all told me that nothing was wrong.when i first bought the vehicle i noticed a noise in where i thought it was the brakes and took it to the shop.i found out that the suspension was falling apart and bolts were missing.luckily, there was no accident over that. Manufacturers need to be more cautious.( dot number: tire size: 31x10.50r )

The spare tire mount in the 1997-1999 model f-150s suffers damage from the crossframe mount. The frame cuts grooves into the tire sidewalls over a period of time and can cause the tire to fail if used. This can also result in a person being stranded if the tire fails completely, or can cause an accident if the damage was not noticed and the tire failed while in use. This affects all 1997 to 1999 model f-150s, and the damage worsens with time, usually becoming noticeable after 10-15k miles. Ford motor has received several complaints about the situation but has not fixed the problem.( dot number: tire size: 255/70r16 )
Well i have a 2008 jeep wrangler x. When i get to 50 mph i experience extreme "death wobble" as its often called. My vehicle will shake to the point that it feel like either the axel is going to snap or the wheels will shoot off in opposite directions. It is very scary. Its does it roughly 8 out of 10 times at 50mph. It started after having the jeep for about 4 months and my dealership tried once to fix the problem after they diagnosed it as the front stabilizer. It continued after they replaced that and from that standpoint told me it was the tires and they wouldn't cover new tires after once telling me they had fixed the issue. I now have to avoid the highway in fear of death. It is honestly resembles of a 8 or 9 on the richter scale.
When we took delivery of vehicle, we noticed it was sitting at an angle to the ground (it sagged down 1 1/2 to 2 inches on the left rear) it looked as though the body was twisted. We were assured that any problem would be taken care of. We took back the vehicle to be repaired several times, 4 times we got a rental vehicle to use. The first time we left the vehicle, they changed the gas tank because it had a 9 gal. Dent in it although the skid plate had no damage whatsoever; the bumper was misaligned; the taillamp was protruding as well as the rear-lower portion of the passenger's rear window(too much glue) and the tires were cupping. They have had the truck to aligned and balance tires, however we had a goodyear dealer rebalance those same tires to get the vibration out to no avail. Courtesy swapped different rims and tires from another tahoe. Now it vibrates even more! we were told to be @ courtesy on 6/14/99, that they would have a machine that would pinpoint the source of the vibration. When we got there they didn't have the machine and instead sent a mechanic on a roadtest with us. We were pointing out the vibration to him. He then took us out in another '99 tahoe, this time the ride was smooth, however the mechanic said that it had a low speed vibration(which it did not). We were then told that they could work some figures on another vehicle. We called the next day and we were told that if we gave them $2,500.00 more dollars, we could get the identical vehicle on their lot. First of all, we spent more than the sticker price and had the add-ons taken off with no credit given to us for that. Second of all we were told this was a new vehicle w/ only a few miles on it. After we got in the truck to go home(after it was paid for), we notice that the vehicle had 732 miles on it!!! they sold a damaged demo as a new vehicle. Most of the miles put on this truck are from running it up to phoenix and back. We had pre-arranged service times and were turned away several time

We have changed tire brands.transmission or driveshaft is still noisy, but does not seem to effect anything.it should be on recall but the car place said that this problem could easily be mistaken for losing the rear end.the one brake has continually not closed properly and therefor does not wear like the other 3. I own a 2007 jeep liberty limited at any given time while driving the gears seem to slip which causes the slippage light to turn on . I've taken to several jeep garages and i'm told it's not the jeep it's the way i drive the jeep that is causing this slippage of the tires or the transmission. Can you help me with this problem?

The contact owns a 2005 cadillac escalade esv.while driving 50 mph, the vehicle decelerated and began to coast.the contact lost steering ability, but was able to safely maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder of the road.she was able to restart the vehicle and drive to the local dealer for inspection.the failure occurred without warning.the dealer stated that the gears in the transmission failed.the vehicle was repaired at the cost of $3,200.the manufacturer stated that because the vehicle did not receive a transmission flush and failed due to lack of maintenance, no compensation would be provided.the failure mileage was 83,000 and current mileage was 83,050.updated 3/11/09 the consumer also stated the brakeslocked up and the tires blew out. Updated 03/16/09.

From the date of purchase, my daughter, the primary driver, complained about the lack of traction when the road was wet.on the date of the accident, it had been drizzling.she was on the ramp connecting i-4 to i-95 north.despite goinbg less than the posted speed limit, the truck began to fishtail and wound up doing a a 180 degree turn off of the highway.after being extricatyed from the woods by a tow truck, she was towed to sears where she replaced the original equipment passenger tires with michelin xclt4 lt245/75r16tires.all handling and traction problems immediately ceased with the light truck tires.the use of passenger vehicle tires on a pick-up is an engineering design difficiency!
Tires wear out exceptionally fast. Dealership authorized replacement of 4 tires in march 2000. At this time, the truck had approx. 16,500 miles. They were replaced due to extreme wear and numerous bulges. About 3 weeks after having these 4 tires replaced, while driving at approx. 20 mph to make a turn, a tire blew. The tire separated from the rim on both edges and was just centered, hanging loosely from the rim, totally deflated. I went ahead and pulled into a station about 20 yards away, where i jacked the truck up and was able to center the tire on the wheel & reinflate it. The tire held pressure & i was able to finish errands & then go to goodyear. At this time, goodyear tells me i hit a nail. They plugged the tire, but told me i needed to take the truck back to dealership as my new tires, with less than 1000 miles, were badly worn and should be replaced. The dealership tells me to return to goodyear for adjustment. I feel there is a problem, don't know if it is the tires or the truck?? when the tire came loose, i bumped the curb & sustained about $1000 of damage, rear axle, bearings, rotor etc. How can a tire totally seperate from the rim & then be reinflated without repair? why do the tires on this truck keep wearing out? encountered another customer today at hudiburg with a similar problm. They were replacing 2 tires for him after replacing all 5 tires previously. Wish they were as considerate in my case, instead of sending me back to deal with goodyear myself!! here i sit with a 1999 sierra which needs new tires..there has to be a reason why they wear out so rapidly??why would a tire seperate from the rim/ then be able to be reinflated without repair??( dot number: pd3ddawr27 tire size: 23575r16 )
Origanal tires from factory (goodyear wrangler rts 265/75r16) have been replaced by goodyear 3 times in 16months due to defects in material and workmanship.vehicle had a major vibration at speeds of 45 and 65 mph.( dot number: tire size: 265/75r16 )
On jan. 17,2000 we were driving through norman,it was foggy, and we hit a slick spot.i over corrected and the truck spun. We hit the crub with the left rear tire and jumped the crub.it looked to be flat but when we tried to pull the truck off the crub and straighten out to put the spare wheel on it would not move or turn.we had it towed to a repair shop who looked at the damage and fixed it. We filed with the insurance because we thoughtit wasn't covered under warranty.we were told later that the axle should not have bent like it did to begin with.( dot number: tire size: p235/75r16 )
Dear sir/mam, i purchased a 2001 dodge ram new. After approximately 10,000 miles i heard abnormal squealing as i turned onto other streets at a low speed. I also noticed uneven tire wear. I was advised by the dodge dealership that the vehicle had no defects and to seek out the tire manufacturer. In february 2007 with approximately 58,400 miles on the truck i was traveling through town and heard a clunking noise coming from my rear end. I located a mechanic that opened up my differential pan and found metal pieces laying in the pan. My truck has a limited slip differential with 4:10 gears. This layout of gears is part of the heavy duty off road package dodge offered with their trucks at the time of my purchase. My mechanics diagnosis was that the posi- traction spacers had exploded as they had appeared to have stuck together. The pieces of metal then eventually tried to travel through the ring and gear causing chipping. The end result is to having the rear differential completely repaired at a cost with parts and labor exceeding $1300.00. I recalled back to my original complaint with dodge of the excessive tire squealing and uneven tire wear at 10,000 miles and based upon my knowledge believe that the tires were squealing while turning onto other streets as the rear end was locked up in the posi traction mode. I contacted dodge several times and spoke with their chief customer representative by the name of pat.dodge stated at the end of each conversation that they could not assist me in this issue even after i advised them of this safety issue in their dodge trucks. I have spoke and located four other dodge owners in my town that have had to repair their dodge truck rear ends. After observing the metal pieces in the differential and from some personnel experience from a previous incident in a friends truck years ago i made the following determination, the pieces that explode in the differential will make a clunking noice in the differential.
I have taken this vehicle to the service department on 7 different occasions for vibration while driving at speeds of 34, 52 and 72 mph.they have had the ford regional rep look at this vehicle 4 times and he insists that i have a tire problem!i have already been through 5 new sets of tires, 2 new sets of wheels, a drive shaft replacement and a rear end overhaul and i still have the same problem!i would appreciate any assistance that your office could provide in helping resolve these problems! We have changed tire brands.transmission or driveshaft is still noisy, but does not seem to effect anything.it should be on recall but the car place said that this problem could easily be mistaken for losing the rear end.the one brake has continually not closed properly and therefor does not wear like the other 3. We purchased the vehicle new. After replacing brakes 4 times, we still have pulsing when we brake and the steering wheel shakes horribly.there are only 36,000miles on the vehicle and we have also had to replace the tires due to cupping.no one knows what is causing the problem, they just keep replacing the brakes only to have them continue to pulse.i can't believe any of the mechanics that have looked at the vehicle would enjoy driving a vehicle like this, still we are stuck with it.i read on one site that it could be the calipers; maybe chrysler should look into it.we hold our breath that we will stop when we put on the brakes. Why isn't chrysler made accountable for faulty brakes/calipers when it could cause an accident?

The reason being that, my family has owned this vehicle since february 1994, we've only received the firestone recall notice. Ironically, i have had and still have some of the listed components that were recalled as well as as some unlisted components since 1996, these problems have cost my family any where between $1000.00 - $2000.00, every year just in repairs alone.

I bought truck in aug 2008 with vibration in steering wheel and the tires were cupped. I replaced the struts, shocks and tires and an alignment was done at that time.the vibration continued, so all the rotors and brakes pads were replaced and the parking brakes adjusted.the truck still shakes violently as if tires are out of balance or about to fall off the truck. I have not found a solution other than to stop driving the vehicle and waiting for 15 minutes before driving again (i do not know if this helps, but feel better doing so).as of the last occurrence (not towing anything), i noticed the shaking begin before a fuel fill-up and then stop after the fill-up.i will note the vibration occurred at the 3/4 fill markand continued until the 1/2 fuel fill mark was reached.i was able to drive for the next 1/4 tank of fuel with no incidence.the violent vibration returned at the 3/4 tank mark and ceased upon reaching the 1/2 tank fill mark . The vibration stopped for the next 1/4 tank and only marginally returned upon reaching the final 1/4 fuel fill mark.

From time of purchase , my wife has been complaining that her vehicle is wobbling. We have taken the jeep to the dealer several times to fix, but they seem at a loss as to whats causing the problem. Our 6th trip to the dealer will be this monday, june 28,1999.i spoke with dennis tagge, service manager at palm auto mall, he stated that the tires may be slipping on the rims as the vehicle accelerates. He has decided that sanding the rims and\or adding some form of nonslip compound might solve the problem. I 'm not as confident as he that this will resolve it. Please let me know if this type of problem has been reported before. Each time we took the jeep into the dealer, they rebalanced the wheels in hopes this problem would dissappear. We are on our second and a half set of tires and yet the problem persists. I have suggested to them the problem may be in the wheels themselves and they should be replaced. They seem reluctant to do this. I don't want to go through alot more of this, please help if you can. Thank you.( dot number: tire size: 30x9.5r15 )

The truck seems to have a tire or suspension hop/chatter after going over all types of bumps small/large, does not seem affect the driving ability but it is annoying. Any other complaints on this? also could not locate dot # on tires, made in canada.
We have had our navigator into the dealership a total of 8 times in the last 3 years. The following had to be replaced: sunroof, groaning noise from beneath the hood (in 4 times for this still not corrected), cd player replaced, sterio replaced, heating elements both front seat replaced 2 times each, incorrect lug nuts, incorrect tire wrench, shaking in stering @ highway speeds-still not corrected, lift system broken-not fixed, hood latch would not release, fuse blowen 3 times for ac outlets, check suspension light on, check engine light on, rear turn sigal out, passenger window catches, incorrect spair tire. Steering wheel sometimes jerks out of my hands as if i've hit a patch of ice. Also feel the truck bouncing while driving as if there is a bubble in the right front tire.took the truck to the dealer about 7 times with not resolution.had the truck checked at goodyear dealer 6 months after purchase. Goodyear said the the tires were defective. Said they were cupped or chopped. I paid $700 dollars to replace tires after dealer refused to do so, but still experience bouncing sensation at 60-70 mph.noticed both problems the day i bought the truck.( dot number: tire size: 245/75r16 )
I am on my 2nd repair of ball joints with my 2003 jeep liberty, i have also had a repair when water gathered and caused my front passenger side carpet to get soaked with water. My issue is related to my tires, i have had rubbing and veering to the right problems since i purchased my car a few years ago. I have taken it in questioning alignment and was told i needed to rotate every oil change which i due but the premature wear on my tires is bad. I believe it is caused from the upper and lower ball joint problems and feel my tires need to be replaced by the dealer at no charge to me.
Vehicle has been in to the shop repeatedly for front end alignment problems.currently working with attorney under california lemon law.vehicle had two front defective tires that were replaced by goodyear.the front end has been confirmed by two different dealerships as being out of aligment five times now.vehicle initially pulled hard to the right at freeway speeds.after supposedly being repaired by the dealership, the vehicle started pulling hard to the left at freeway speeds.i feel that there is a safety issue because you have to significantly compensate "the pull" by holding the steering wheel at an angle.the pull of the vehicle is damaging the front tire that are currently on the vehicle. Antilock brake warning light comes on intermittently.no cause found.tires worn out at 32000 miles in spite of scheduled balance and maintenance being performed.replacement set is also nearing wear out prematurely.( dot number: )
To those that could help me get gmc or randy reed gmc pontiac in kansas city, mo to fix this vibration.i have had this vibration in the truck since i drove it off the lot when it was brand new at 6 miles with a deliver miles of 23. I have taken it back to the dealer 13 times in the last 14 months and 8 out of those 13 times it was for the vibration. The dealer had put all new tires on the truck after about 3,000 miles but still could not get the vibration all the way out. It was to a point where i could stand it but i was not happy with it. The vibration comes on between 65 to 70 mph which indicates the tires. The tires are goodyear wrangler st p235/75r16 owl which is the original oem tire for that truck on that year. During the testing around the time of exchanging of all the goodyear wrangler st for exact same thing we put a set of firestone wrangler ht i believe on it and it rode perfectly smooth. On 08/15/2000 i took my truck in for a bulletin the service manager wanted to do to it to strengthen the front end on it and i got it back two days later and it rides rougher than before. I took it back on 08/29/2000 and the new service manager got involved and said he couldnt feel anything on vibration so i took him for a ride and when you go up or down a hill with the cruise control on at 65 or 67 mph you feel the vibration in the floor seat and steering wheel also the mirrors vibrate sometimes where you can not make out the vehicle lights behind you. Then the service manager said it still rides smoother than my new demo with less than 600 miles on it. I believe he has those firestone wrangler something on the demo. I also talked to gmc a few times and they are to the point there is nothing they will do.i like the truck but hate the vibration and it is very frustrating on trips.the transmission also downshifts when you go over a hill with it set on 60mph and air conditioning running.they wouldn't even list this complaint when i told them about it.
After service department replaced several components in the front end of my 1999 gmc sierra sle xcab 2wd short box it now pulls to the left on flat highway where as it pulled to the right before the parts where installed. If there is ruts from wear in the highway then it will maintain or track them. I explained to the service manager that a 300 pound person will pull the front end alignment approximately 1 degree so it has to be right on and he said it was. Well it still pulls to the left after they replaced all the parts in the front end on there bullentin for the vibration problem. The service manager tells me there is nothing more they can do for me.( dot number: m63d tire size: p235/75r16 )

2008 wrangler 4 door. Front wheel oscillation occurs between 35 & 50 mph when the vehicle travels along uneven road surfaces and hits a pothole on the rhs. Front end suspension oscillation intensifies as speed increases rendering steering forces that exceed human strength. The sensation that is generated is that the front end goes in one direction whilst the wheels go in the opposite direction. Squealing from the tires results in visible skid marks on most road surfaces. The result of this uncontrolled movement is a is a crash to the rhs that lowers the speed enough so the driver can regain control. Local dealer claims "they all do this" various web blogs suggest that the wheels or tires are not circular or concentric.
Truck has had excessive vibration and front end shimmy in the sterring - tires were replaced once by dealer and then again personally. Anti-lock brakes activate if braking even at slow speeds over bump or pavement ripples. Front end seems to lose contact with road easily when going over bump or ripples.( dot number: tire size: p235/75r16 )

The front tires have"cupped" within 2000 miles of purchasing the vehicle. I have been to the dealer and to goodyear over this issue. I have noticed that braking takes longer to accomplish because of the uneven wear pattern that has developed. I've had to replace 2 tires at 46,000 mles(as compared with 70,000 miles on a 1992 explorer that i owned that was equipped with firestone tires). Goodyear has told me that i have to rotate my tires every3,000 miles to prevent this wear pattern. I believe this is excessive maintenance and cost to the consumer. Goodyear has also told me that these tires were not engineered for this vehicle, but ford equpiped these vehicles with these tires as standard equipment in 1996. I've noticed that since1997, ford has gone back to firestone tires for explorers. I have called the ford consumer hot line. I spoke with the person answering the calls and explained the problem. I was told i would hear from a ford rep, but after a year i have heard nothing. Goodyear has looked at all mechanical components, including suspension bushing and alignment that could be causing this problem and has found nothing wrong. I believe this problem may be inherent to ford putting tires on this autmobile that are not matched to the vehical suspension.( dot number: tire size: p235/75r15 )
My truckexperiences severe transmision noise when i apply brakes, came to a stop and then proceed.a noticeable clunking noise took place as if the transmission was broken.also my front tires wore excessively on the heels, and i was told by the dealer that the front end was misaligned. Ofcourse i paid for a front end alignment but it didnt help the vehicle from shaking at speeds of 55+mph.also , the front suspension shimmies, shakes, and rattles over minor road imperfections. I feel like the steering wheel is telling me this vehicle is unsafe. I have never had an accident, and my vehicle is still under warranty. Can someone offer help or advice? thomas j finley.( dot number: )

I have a vibration at 45 miles an hour. It feels like the truck is woobling side to side.you must be at a constant speed. I can also feel a vibration at 65 to 70 miles an hour. Also at 70 when i hit a bump it feels like the truck keeps bouncing for a second after it hits. The dealer has balenced the tires 4 times and has changed the tires and rims also. The ford rep said it is normal and is not a defect. I don't believe that trucks are designed to shake. Ford said they don't have to do anything more. (tiresize: 265/70r-17)
Toyota states it's goodyears' problem and goodyear states it's toyota's problem. I feel like a yoyo. My problem starts at 60mph where there is a vibration on the front end.the vibration gets worse at 75 and then smooths out around 83.i took the truck to cobb county toyota ,and jesse, a service advisor, told me that my tire was 42lbs. Of road force - - - way out of specs...... Needs to be replaced. Jesse advised me to notify a goodyear tire store because it is their responsibility.so i notified tirequest goodyear tire store in cartsville ga.kalvin, store manager, said that is a dealer (toyota) problem.tirequestbalanced the tire the best they could.i continued to have the same problem.on4/21/2000 i called goodyears 1-800-321-2136 customer assistance , ref#3888832, susan. She called a goodyear dealer in daltonand talked with matt acklen store manager at goodyear bryman's plaza north.he wasvery helpful and told me the wheel was the cause of the problem not the tire.i went back to toyota on 4/21/2000 and jessestated it was the tire and goodyear should stand behind their product.i have gotten nowhere with either company and am very frustrated.i have spent over $70 on balance and front end alignment plus travel and time.furthermore i'm back where i started.both companies are stating that they have seen the problem before and that it is a defect in the other companies product.i do not know who to believe but i would like to resolve this.is there any defects you are aware of on the goodyear wrangler gsa 31x10.50r 15lt? or on the toyota tacoma prerunner trd package 15 inch rim?

I am writing in response to a news article i saw regarding nhtsa investigations of 1997 and 1998 ford expeditions, in particular failures of the front stabilizer bar links.i am creating this defect report because i believe my 1998 ford expedition may also suffer from a defect with the front stabilizer bar link.the stabilizer bar connects the left and right front wheel control arms and is supposed to help in controlling the pitch of the vehicle in turns.when driving, if i drive over the slightest of imperfections in a paved road, the front wheels start to vibrate and i have to slow down to regain control and to make the wheels ride correctly.also when exiting off a ramp from a highway (meaning a very gradually right exit, not a sharp right turn), there is a loud thumping sound and the wheels again seem to lose control and start to vibrate.likewise, when making a sharp left or right turn, there is a loud thumping sound and the wheel seem to lose control and start vibrating.i have to press the brakes to slow the vehicle in order to regain control.this is more than just a matter of getting my 'alignment fixed.'please note:i think this is a serious problem which needs more investigation by the nhtsa.this behavior started about april 2001.this has gradually gotten worse and worse.it now occurs every time i drive this ford expedition.this vehicle has never been in any type of accident to my knowledge.i believe this vehicle to be unsafe, yet i have no alternative mode of transportation to get to and from work.i now have to drive slowly to avoid any problems with losing control of the wheels.fyi - i called your office at 1-888-dash-2-dot and filed a complaint.but i wasn't quite sure the service representative got all my information.so i am opening this report as a follow-on.the previous dot image number is 715727, and i spoke to carol.you may contact me for further information.thank you. The tire blew straight across from the front side of the wheel to the back and stayed on the wheel. This tire, as well as the other 3, was approximately 2 months old and had less than 5,000 miles on it.upon inspection, the rear right tire, which didnt blow, has a bulge on the sidewall near the top of the tire (closest to the tread).they were purchased from gainesville tire service (770-534-5280) and have not yet been taken back due to the holidays.we can likely find out the exact date of purchase from charge card records if necessary.the passport has 4 wheel drive capability although it wasnt activated at the time of the incident.your form didnt allow me to enter all the necessary dot digits and they are as follows:mk9lcrwr529.we will attempt to take photographs of both the blown tire and the remaining rear tire that has a bulge.i am going to take them back to gainesville tire as soon as possible and would appreciate your contacting me expediently in case the tires need to be saved for your inspection. All rear sets of tires (3 to date) have become cupped accompanied by auto vibration. Ford dealerships have given blame for auto vibration and cupping of tires to tire manugacturer.goodyear, accordingly, has replaced 2 tires on two separate occasions.cupping detected on first tire rotation when rear tires brought to front of vehicle...along with noticable deterioration in steering.this problem continues to exist with no apparent satisfaction provided by local ford.( dot number: tire size: p235/75r15 )

On 4 different occasions, i have suffered tire failures. Audi claims it is goodyear's problem. Goodyear claims it is audi's use of low aspect tires in an off road vehicle although this vehicle has never been off road. The failure of 4 tires in 17,000 miles is unlikely to be coincidence andmust represent a fault in either tire or vehicle design or manufacturing design failure.(tiresize: 225/55/17)
While returning from christmas vacation on i-70 we suffered a blowout on the passenger side rear tire of our 1996 ford explorer sport. We had just passed a tractor-trailor and i was in the inside lane. The this caused me to swerve immediately into the outside lane in front of the semi and then onto the sholder of the road. I was able to control the vehicle and stop partially off the road in the snow. I later took the tire to my mechanic and he examined it and stated the tread had seperated to the best of his knowledge. I contacted ford and they stated it was a goodyear problem. I contacted goodyear and they stated it was a ford explorer problem. Neither i, my wife who is 4 months pregnant, nor my 21 month old child were injured but had i been in the outside lane i would not have been able to control the vehicle when it went into the ditch and this could possibly have been a very serious accident. I ahd just had the frod explorer recall for the sway bay links and a tire inspection completed by the ford dealer before we left on our trip (900 miles before the tire failure) and i was given no advice about needing new tires or if the sway bar links had caused any damage to the tires. I had my tires rotated at 35281 miles. I believe there is possibly a problem with my goodyear tires of the explorer is the source of the problems. In my opinion, the ford explorer and ford f series pickups have unusual front end harmonics problems, which causes premature and unusual tire wear symtoms.ford recommends to rotate tires at 6000 miles, on ford explorer, if you wait till 6,000 miles the tires will have unusual tire wear to the point that rotating the front to the rear, and hope the rear tires will correct themselves within next 6000 rotation will not occur.in other words, the ford explorer will wear tires to unusual limits within 6,000 miles to where rotation will not take care of the problem within the next 6000miles.i bought 4 brand new goodyear wrangler rt's at 28,000 miles, they needed rotated far before 34,000 miles, goodyear said wait until the 34,000 miles which i did.i rotated the tires again at 40,000 miles and traded vehicle off at 41,000 miles.the tires were of good tread but worn in a crazy fashion in an irregular manner.4 new shocks did not help, the ford garage checked the alignment and stated the vehicle was within specs.i bought a ford f-250 with goodyear at's, and it to seems to be wearing the tires funny.ido not drive erratic and do keep the tire pressure to the recommended psi.for years, when ford had the twin i-beam front suspension on its p/u's, the tires wore funny and alsowould not last till the 6000 mile rotation point.ford has had a problem with very unusual tire wear for years, and it must be with ford's suspension system, weight to ground pressures or harmonics, but they have a very serious design flaw which effects its tires towearunusally on the ford explorer series and the ford f series, this is a certainty.the problem does not just effect firestone tires!!!!!!!( dot number: tire size: p235r75-15 )

While rotating the tires on my new 2003 toyota tacoma p/u for the first time (6,000 miles), i noticed a buldge in the drivers side front tire (goodyearwangler hp p205/75r15) local goodyear dealer(auto world)called goodyear, they said no warranty, but they will sell me a replacement tire at there cost of $97.00 (as if i'll buy another goodyear tire)!how many have to be hurt or injured before something is done!or are they following firestone / bridgestone's lead.....*la
The contact owns a 2008 ford ranger with goodyear wrangler 235/75/r15 tires.while approaching a stop light at approximately 10 mph and applying the brakes, the vehicle hydroplaned into the right lane. I have tires that show bulges on the sidewall, the supplier states these are were the tire was put together, but there are two to three places on the tire that are now showing these bulges. I tried to contact good year tire but no one would give me the home office address. Don't now of any one that has a problem. (dot number: 105stiresize: p235/75r15)
Vehicle has 8000 miles on it. Tires were put on by ford dealership. They are the goodyear wrangler territory at tires. They are considered a new tire that was created by goodyear this year. The tires have not been taken off road. Tires have only been driven on pavement to and from carpool. The front passenger tire was taken in to discount tire to have the tire assessed of why it was losing air pressure constantly. The side wall that faces out, has a split on the sidewall. It does not appear to be a puncture. It is very small and could barely be seen. It looks to be dried and splitting. No curbs have been hit with that front tire. Another tire previously had been taken from the back end to the dealership to be looked at for losing air. Iraq had ripped the rubber between the tire tread and created a hole. Again tires were at 3000 miles at this point in february and had not been taken off road at this point either. Goodyear was contacted because the owners had to pay out of pocket to completely replace the tire and a good year paid half of the cost for a new tire as part of their bad luck new car owner program. The tires are supposed to be an upgrade and be all-terrain. They have not even been taken off road and have had and now two major incidences. The tires seem very weak and there are currently no recalls because they have only been on vehicles for a short period of time. We have not been able to find them in any place other than the dealership to replace the tire because they are still so new. They seem very weak and have 8000 miles on the vehicle currently and are struggling to not crack.

At 8:30 am on a cool morning, the tire suddenly exploded without any warning after only 3 miles on i-17, and a total of 16 miles from start up. The highway was dry and clean. I coasted to a stop without braking, or any steering problem.the outside side wall is completely seperated 3600from the tread. There are 25 radial splits in the sidewall, averaging 3" long, almost to the rim. The tread shows nodamage. The inside sidewall has one damaged area near the tread. The tire was not hot. The other three tires appear to be ok, but so did this one prior to failure. I have photos, and will keep the tire for inspection. The tire was made in canada. Please advise if you want the tire or photos. (tiresize: p255/70r16)( dot number:tire size: p255/70r16 )

On interstate at 70mph vehicle became hard to control for about 2-3 miles.as we slowed down thetire blew out. Tire was smoking and shredded in several places. When returned home we tried to get medford lincoln dealership in dothan, alto replace the tire. They stated it was a roadhazard and would sell us a tire for $135. Wetookthe tire to a goodyear dealership in dothan, al and thay stated they found a piece of plastic in the tire and said that was what made it shred and gave us a piece of plastic he said was lying in the tire. We took the vehicle back to medford and they said they saw the plastic the day before but never said anything about it to us. Was there really a piece of plastic in the tire and if so how did it get in the tire and why didn't medford lincoln dealership in dothan, al mention it was in there, or was this just a cover up on there part? we noticed on a web site where there had been complaints about goodyear wrangler tires before.we just want the tire replaced and confidence that our other tires are safe. I own a 2006 jeep wrangler x with 9,060 miles. I have goodyear gs-a tires. I am replacing my second tire on the jeep in less than two years. This tire has a "sidewall failure" and must be replaced. I also have owned a 2001 jeep wrangler. I put 24,000 miles on that car but had to replace 3 goodyear tires similar to the gs-a's. The latest incident involving my jeep and goodyear tires transpired two days ago. I noticed the tire was losing air before i got behind the wheel. Considering i was about to drive on a highway, it may have been recipe for disaster. I put air back into the tire and was able to drive to a sears automotive center. The mechanics informed me that the tire had a "sidewall failure" and was unfixable. Sears did state that the tires had little to no wear on them and were "like new". I contacted goodyear pertaining to the issues. The customer service representative was not entirely helpful. I gave my history with the goodyear tires and the jeep wrangler to goodyear. I was told to seek a second opinion by goodyear. I had another goodyear retailer look at the tire with the same result. I contacted goodyear again. Goodyear was quite unhelpful and i felt "blown off". I sincerely have a concern that every time i get in my jeep one of my tires may become damaged. Jeep wranglers are an suv, so the chances of rollover are higher. The first tire that went on my current 2006 jeep wrangler almost cased me to spin out in the middle of a busy intersection. That incident transpired in september of 2006. I am hoping that this complaint will inspire some sort of investigation into the product, goodyear did not seem interested in doing so. Everywhere you look there are jeep wranglers on the road, many of them with these same goodyear gs-a tires. That is a large number of people potentially at risk, along with those who may be traveling at the same time. Thank you for your time, i honestly hope this can be addressed and approached for the potentially serious manner that it is.

I need to know if tire age and "dry rot" are a concern on a tire that is 8 years old?i am a public servant (public health nurse) and make many home visits.i use the vehicle provided to me by the city.the vehicle (van) that i use has been deemed safe by the city's fleet maintenance dept.the tires are the original ones and were manufactured in the year 2000.the van sits outdoors all year round and the tires now have large cracks in the side and small (dry rot) cracking on the sides of the tires and on the treads.there is still a lot of tread left on the tires because there is only 31,000 miles on the van.i have asked for the tires to be replaced due to safety concerns and have been told by fleet maintenance that the tread is good and that the cracks, dry rot and age of the tires is not a safety issue.please advise.there has been a lot in the media lately about the dangers of aging tires.thank you.

The tire/rim combination suffers from chronic sporadic leakage, particularly when positioned on the front .on numerous occasions the front tires have been found to be underinflated.on 4 or 5 occasions, the tires have gone completely flat, so far when the car was parked for a short period after a 20 mile run.goodyear examined the most recent failed tire and rim andreported that the rim was excessively corroded where the tire seals to it.furthermore, once cleaned with a grinder, goodyear reportedresidual pitting that could affect the seal. Chrysler dipped the tire after goodyear cleaned the rim and reinflated the tire and found no leak.chrysler refused to remove the tires and inspect the rims for excessive or abnormal corrosion that might suggest a defect causing chronic leakage. Continued use of the vehicle is hazardous, yet i can't find out whether the issue is with the rims, the tires, or both. Chrysler's recommendation is that i start over at another dealer, but they refused to instruct the dealer to remove the tires and examine the rims. (their recommendation when i initially called over a year ago was to complain to goodyear.) at this time, i have purchased a compressor and am monitoring the inflation carefully.if hyper maintenance prevents a reoccurrence, i will still need to inspect and possibly replace the rims due to pitting when the tires are replaced for wear.goodyear has provided excellent service; chrysler seems to be stonewalling.

Tires "dry rotted" with less then 20,000 miles.
While driving our expedition on the freeway at approximatly 55 miles per hour, over smooth dry road conditions suddenly the right rear tire exploded, i felt the truck lift up a little then we could hear the rim scraping on the road. I pulled over imediatly and could see that the tire looked as though it had disintegrated. After changing it with the spare tire i took it straight to the dealer where i had bought the truck, they told me i would have to call back later in the weak to talk to an representative so i called them back on monday and they told me i must have hit something and thats what must have happend. I told them no i did notand that i am a carefull driver you see my wife and two children where also in the car with me at the time, besides i would have seen or heard the noise if i had hit something. They where very rude to me. Then i told my wife what they said and she was very upset with them ( korum ford ) she called and complainedand got very angry with them over the phone and they hung up on her, so we sent a letter to ford motor co . I then took the tire to goodyear and they at least treated me with some respect they said the tire could be sent out for independent study which if it showed no defect in the tire then i would have to pay full price or they could simply discount a new tire by 50% since it was a questionable cause. The goodyear dealer told me in his opinion the tire ford uses is too light for such a big truck, the expedition falls just under the maximum weight limit for the tire and since it is a tall vehicle it leans a lot around corners putting a lot of stress on the tire.then i remembered that when the tire blew i had just come out of some s curves in the road. When the tire blew it also damaged the rim which is a $350dollar rimand the cost of a new tire it was about $500 dollars!! a bit expencive for a blow out . But at least no one was hurt ! had i not been attentive to my driving we could have crashed into the fullsize van n
I drive 116 mostly hwy miles a day commuting to work. About 4 weeks ago the 1st of my tires started to vibrate. I had it checked out and the belt had separated. Then 2 weeks later the 2nd tire did the same. (both front end of the veh) then the following week (date of incident.) the other tire belt separated but this time the whole tread separated from the tire causing damage to my vehicle. (indecent not reported to the police) as i was driving down the hwy at normal speeds. (back end of veh) (if front end i might have crashed?) the tires are a goodyear wrangler all-terrain adventure. Tire and car have been maintained to manufacturer specs, tires have automatic tire pressure monitors.at about 11000 mi i noticed some feathering of all 4 tires.i took it in at about 11700 and dealer agreed all 4 tires were wearing abnormally.their factory rep blames goodyear, delaer stated 4 wheel alignment was off.they have done nothing to date about the tires prematurely wearing.at about 12600 mi the tire pressure monitor indicated a sudden decrease in pressure for the rr tire.i was going about 15 mph and was near a tire shop. When i arrived at the shop, the tire was nearly flat.they repaired the tire, but informed me that three of the four tires would not pass safety inspection.the right front and right rear have not tread left and the the lr is nearly gone.the lf would pass but is badly feathered for only 12600 miles.the cause of the flat tire was a nail i had picked up in the nearly bald rr tire.the shop said if it had happened at freeway speeds it would have been very dangerous.they stated a normally treaded tire would not have picked up the nail, but because of excessive wear, the nail immediatlely punctured the tire.the factory rep told me that audi had been experiencing some problems with the goodyear tire designed especially for the allroad model and they had not see much problem with the pirelli tires for the same model.i think someone needs to look into the manufacture and safety level of the goodyear wrangler made especially for the audi allroad.people who buy these cars count on them being safe and able to perform.tires should certainly last more than 10000 miles and all four should wear evenly.

Left rear tire suddenly failed while i was towing a 3000 lb trailer on a major freeway. The rear of the toyota started to sway which in turn caused the trailer to start to sway. The toyota swung back and forth violently and nearly rolled over. Damage was done to both the trailer and the toyota as the two vehicles jack knifed and struck each other. I was able to come to a stop on a rough shoulder of the road which did additional damage. I believe the goodyear tires were not sufficiently heavy duty for 4 wheeling on primitive roads and trailer towing. The 4runner came with a towing package which also was inadequate. The sock absorbers are too soft for stable towing. Adjustable stiffer shocks should be provided on such a vehicle as well as some kind of vehicle leveling system to provide more stable towing.
I purchased a new gmc yukon denali 8 months ago.my new suv came with standard all-season goodyear wrangler hp p265/70r17 tires.one chilly winter morning on my way to work, i heard an explosive sound and realized that my left rear tire had blown out.i was driving at high freeway speed (75 mph, the speed limit is 70) with other drivers driving at the same speed with not enough clearance in front and behind my vehicle.i saw smoke coming from the rear view mirror.i struggled to keep control of the vehicle while i also feared of a rear-end collision if i don't act fast.realizing i am in an emergency situation, i gripped the steering wheel firmly, immediately hit the brakes, and made a sudden sharp turn on the shoulder.this sudden lateral shift and abrupt maneuver created a force that tilted the vehicle sideways (the two right tires - front & rear - were up on the air) for a couple of seconds.the sharp turn on the shoulder led me to the freeway median (an open grassland with uneven pavement and soft soil).thanks to the safety feature of my vehicle, the electronic stability control (esc), after a brief moment i felt my two right tires were back on level with the ground and the vehicle significantly reduced its power allowing me to safely stop the vehicle without rolling over.as for the blown out tire, it has been split in half.i talked to gmc about this incident and was seriously concerned of a tire manufacturer defect/failure.gmc stated they don't make tires.i should take my case to goodyear tires.there is much economic physical damage that resulted from this tire blow-out.the left inner fender well cover was damaged and created a hole through the sheet metal.also a rear body molding was missing and damaged to left running board end cap.the rim on damaged tire needs to be spin-tested for balance and out of round road damage.the approximate damages to the vehicle are $4,000 - $5,000.and of course, emotional trauma.
Cheap [xxx] tires are wore out at 29000 miles, these tires have 60000 mile tread warranty, toyota should be embarrassed to put these tires( 265 / 70/16 goodyear wrangler kevlar) on tacoma trucks.goodyear and toyota should work together and recall/replace them.parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I was traveling east on the paved portion of nevada state roure 290 at about 50 mph.the left rear tire blew out.about a 10 inch long portion of the tire just shreded.when i took it to the local goodyear dealer he refused to make good on it.he claimed i had run over a curb or some other obstacle.i had never rubbed a curb, let alone hit one, or hit any otherobstacle.i figured it was not worth the time and effort to contact the manufacturer.i know of two other people in carson city who have had the same problem with goodyear tires.firestone has been racked over the coals.i tink it is time to, at least, investigate goodyear to see how safe their tires are.
Noticed vibrations through steering wheel and automobile was pulling to the left.had tires rotated and balanced.tech noticed that that left front tire had broken belt. Replaced tire. Passenger tires were supplied with z71 off-road package.i took these tires off-road, and tore a hole one.all4 tire dealers in montrose, co including the goodyear dealer, said that these are passenger tires, not off-road tires, and that they will be damaged by taking them off-road in the mountains. Chevy's photos on their web page show the avalanche fording streams, driving over rocks, and driving in the mountains.the owner's manual discusses driving over rocks and logs, "bouncing the car"and having one or more wheels off the ground as things that might be encountered in "off-road" driving.still, they deliver the nearly 3-ton truck with passenger tires, not light truck tires. Had i not punctured the dire, but only separated the ply, i could have had a serious accident driving the 400 miles back to my home.the off-road package includes skid plates, heavy duty shocks, a tow package, the all-important z71 decal, and upgraded tires.it turns out that the upgrade is not to a stronger tire, just a tire that's 1 inch bigger.still, the implication is that it is suitable for the off-road use described in the owner's manual and in their advertisements.the safety issue is that these tires are more susceptable to damage when used of-road, and subsequent to failure later at high speed when the driver returns to the highway than tires more appropriate to the task, such as a light truck tire.

After the firestone problem, i needed new tires ~40k. I went to goodyear, they didn't have an "e" range tire in this size so they put "d" load rnage tires on.after 5000 miles, first rotation, there were bubbles on all four tires. They replaced them under warranty. At that time they start to offer "e" so i switched to "e" range. After 5000 miles they started to develop a vibration, like an out of balance problem. I didn't have time to take them in before the next rotation was due. The right rear tire blew out while pulling my boat down the interstate in new york. I lost control when it got down on the rim and the boat jackknifed. It spun out of control into the median. Police were called. Vehicle was driveable. I changed tire and drove home. No punctures were noted after inspection by tire dealer and insurance investigator.. Switched back to firestone steeltex.

My 2002 dodge pick up has a cupped left front tire causing a severe vibration. The tire is a goodyear wrangler lt275/70r17. After taking it to the dealership they found nothing wrong with the suspension and alignment. They contacted goodyear and were told that the tire on the truck is too aggressive and that the recommended rotation interval should be 5000 miles. The service manual recommends rotation at 7500 miles normal driving. Irotated at 6000 to coincide with my oil changes. The dealership said thatgoodyear offered to go 1/2 with me. The cost to me would have been $210.00mounted and the dealership could have the tires in that afternoon. I had gone toa goodyear establishment 2 weeks prior to this visit to complain. Theytold me the same story that the tire is too aggressive and needs to berotated at between 4000 and 5000 miles. They offered me 2 new tires atthe same deal. The difference being was the same tires were $180.00. Theywould have to order them as the local warehouse had none in stock. That leadsme to several questions: 1. Why did this new vehicle have tires on it thatare "too aggressive"? 2. Why do i have to pay for tires that i havebeen careful to maintain and rotate at the specified interval in theservice manual? 3. Why is there no notification to the owners statingthat the rotation interval needs to adjusted?

This is a synopsis of the incidents with goodyear wrangler hp tires (p265/70r17) that have occurred with my 2002 cadillac escalade ext. The first incident occurred on december 27, 2003, myself along with my father, mother, sister and cousin ellison was traveling in a 2002 cadillac escalade ext.as we were traveling down interstate 16 from macon, georgia to savannah, georgia, there was a loud popping sound and the rear of the vehicle was thrown into the air.once the rear of the vehicle hit the ground, i was able to safely maneuver the vehicle off to the side of the road.when we exited the vehicle, we noticed that the thread had completely separated from the right rear tire.there was also substantial damage done to the rear of the vehicle.on november 18, 2004, while my father and mother were traveling on i-95 near brunswick, georgia, they felt a thud and immediately pulled over to the side of the road.when they exited the vehicle, they noticed that the right front tire thread had started to separate.on november 30, 2004, less than two weeks after the previous tire incident, my father and mother was traveling on interstate 16 near statesboro, georgia.at this point in time, the left rear tire blew out.again my father was able to safely maneuver the vehicle off to the side of the road.on february 18, 2005, while my father and mother were traveling in mississippi on interstate 10. While they were driving down interstate 10, the right rear tire blew completely out. On april 3, 2005, my father was driving the vehicle around town in savannah, georgia.he noticed that the vehicle started vigorously shaking.at this point, he stopped the vehicle and safely pulled over to the side of the road.when he looked at the tires, he noticed that the threads were separating from the tire.
Oem godyear wrangler tires started demonstrating uneven cupping that caused noise and handeling issues. After bringing the issue to my dealer's attention at my first oil change (7,500 miles) they informed me that many rovers with the same tires had demonstrated the same issues during the past few months. They explained to me that goodyear and rover were reseraching the problem and to hang tight until a solution and recall were announced. The tires continued to degrade with the handeling and noise factors becoming worse and worse over the next year. At the 15k oil change i asked the dealer to rotate the tires hoping that the issue was only related to the front end. Wihtin a couple of weeks the new front tires (which were originally back tires) started showing the same inside and outside edge cupping. The previous front tires on the back end continued to get worse. I began working closely with my dealer to address the issue and even met with the regional rover serice manager who acknowledged the issue was previously known and limited to wrangler tires on rovers. Since my rover had been aligned on two seperate jigs the dealer service manager assured me that my vehicle was up to spec. The regional rep and later the land rover north america office refused to help me negotiate with goodyear to obtain my money back. The party line at land rover was 'it's not a problem with our vehicle but instead an issue with their tires. We can't get involved with this dispute since we do not warranty the oem tires'. After much frustration i contacted goodyear and managed to get in touch with a vp of customer satisfaction. The goodyear vp finally admitted that a replacement wrangler specific tire was being released in the future and he paid me full retail value for my goodyears since i documented that the issue began before 20% treadlife had expired.i purchased new michelin cross country's (xpc replacement tires) and at 4,000 miles i don't see or feel any tread life issues.

Dt*:the contact stated a screeching noise was heard from the rear brakes while depressing the brake pedal at speeds of 2 mph and above.the vehicle was taken for an inspection due to the noise.the inspector determined the brake pads were worn and the rotors were scored.the vehicle was taken to the local dealer for inspection.the rear brake pad and rotors were replaced.however, the dealer stated the tires were worn around the tread although, no incidents or problems were reported about the tires previously.the manufacturer determined, this was normal wear and tear on the vehicle and the tires needed to be replaced as a part of regular maintenance. The rear abs rotor was badly worn. The consumer replaced the tire because it was loosing air due to a screw.updated 03/09/06

Bought 6-10ply heavy duty truck tires for my ford 350, dually, diesel truck & i rotated them every 6 months. When i was in a mall, a passer-by stopped me to tell me my left front tire, on the inside had a huge bubble in it. When i looked, it was around 8 to 10 in. Around & when i stopped, it did not go down, it stayed there. I only had them for about 2 yrs. I bought them from a & k tires on moody blvd., in flagler beach, fl. 32136goodyear would not even pro-rate them, i had to buy another tire.now, i am afraid the other 5 will do the same & as a retiree, i can't afford to buy 6 tires every two years for my truck.i am afraid another bubble will come up on the other tires, but i am stuck with them. If it had blown out on the expressway, there could have been a serious accident, but thanks to a concerned passerby, there was no accident.hope i am that lucky again, if the other tires go out too.

Tires on my f150 show abnormal wear on the outside edges. Ford says this is due to the suspension. Ford does not have a fix. I claim that this is a suspension issue, not a tire issue. I have since bought a new checrolet tahoe. Could this issue be related to the tire issues on current ford suv's? i think that the tires are not the problem rather ford supspension is the problem that causes abnormal tire wear and heating of the tires, esp. In texas. This wears the outer edges of the tires, eventually causing the outer tread to fail or seperate from the tire. This is a definate problem on the ford f150 trucks, and i think it applies to the explorer. (tiresize: p235r15)( dot number:tire size: p235r15 )

My husband and i own a 2001 audi allroad which is equipped with goodyear wrangler f1 radial tires marked allroad size 225 r17 m+s rated.these are the only manufacturer approved tires for the vehicle.about a year ago i experienced a flat tire and the sidewall was damaged requiring a new tire.it took several days to obtain a tire and i was limited to driving on streets as the spare is not a full size tire and cannot be used over 50mph.on july 2, we experienced a flat tire caused by a nail and the sidewall of the tire blew out.we tried to find a replacement.the 3 audi dealers in our area did not carry the tire, and after several referrals we found a tire at grand prix tires in costa mesa ca which had been ordered by a customer but not picked up.at the same time we were told there was abnormal wear on another tire which needed replacement so we immediately ordered an additional tire.when i checked on the status of the order on july 30, i was informed that the tires are on back order and will not be available for at least a month---which means that i am forced to drive on a worn tire.i contacted audi's customer advocates who claim that it is a non-audi part and that they have no control over it even though they admit that it is the only tire which can be used on the vehicle.they referred me to their supplier---the tire rack who looked into it and again told me that the tires are on back order from goodyear and that it will be a month or more to get one (a total of 7 weeks plus).audi refuses to address this issue so i am requesting your assistance in resolving it as it has now become a safety concern due to the wear on the tire and the lack of any other tire for this model vehicle.

The manufacturer's recommended tires (goodyear wrangler all weather m+s 255/55vr19) on landrover lr3 models are wearing prematurely by cupping and underlayment showing through on inside of tire tread where unevenly worn.mine did this at 25k miles, but i was lucky - after researching through various blogs i've found many needed all tires replaced even under 14k miles.this is a huge safety issue and i am currently working with my dealer to resolve my situation, but it should be made general knowledge to consumers - especially if it can prevent future accidents on the highways.please note that there are currently class action suits in michigan and california on this same issue.unsure if issue is just with lr3 models, or all of landrover vehicles.

We have a vibration in the tires and two dealers have told us it is the tires. Rancho ford is our closes dealer so we have gone there. They replaced two tires 6 month's ago and that hepled a little. Since that time we have had three flats because of the valve stems ripping, my thought the vibration has caused this and it cost us a new tire. Goodyear destroyed the fist set w/o my permission after they were sent in by heuring chevrolet & cadillac at 1856 us highway 30 valparaiso, in 46385 for inspection. Goodyear never replied to me either by telephone or by e-mails that i made and/or the service manager at heuring chevrolet made. Our good year tires that were put on the truck are showing tread seperation.the good year manufacture told us they would have us go to the nearest good year dealer and they would pro rate the tires...why? it is their defect not ours. They would replace with good years...why? we don't want them. Why should we risk going to another town 20-25 miles from here to replace these tires with possible defective ones again! for four years they have been covering up lawsuits and having silent recalls...to me...they need to replace them with what we want and where we want! it is our lives that our on the line! no airbags deployed, no one has been hurt thank god. I am the owner of a 2001 gmc (4-door) extended cab pick up (short bed). The truck came equipped with goodyear wrangler tires. The dot code for the tires is as follows: dot m63d ekwr 4200 (tires 0715, 0801, 1131, 1132). The tires have approximately 18,500 miles on them. They have been regularly serviced - air pressure checks and rotation. The subject tires have very very poor wet weather traction. I considered them dangerous so they were replaced. It seems to be rather common knowledge that these tires have poor wet traction. I draw this conclusion by my conversation with a goodyear dealer and postings on the internet at tirerack.com and discounttire.com (where people comment.) gm and/or goodyear should consider having better wet weather traction for the application.

I was traveling on the highway at about 65 miles per hour when the steering wheel was jerked out of my hands. The truck began to swerve and vibrate, and i realized a tire had blown out. I did not see anything i could have hit on the road nor did i feellike i had hit anything. I changed the tire and took the blown tire to my local goodyear dealer who examined it and confirmed that the tire had not been cut or punctured and concluded that i was running low tire pressure and therefore, even though there is only 17% tread wear i was entitled to only a 50% adjustment on the tire. Numer one i check my tire pressures on all my vehicles regularly and keep at least 40 to 42 pounds of air in at all times, and number two what happened to my manufacturers warranty that states a full replacement during the first twelve months of ownership. I have been in the car business for over 25 years and am a pennsylvania state inspection mechanic and i understand the importance of tire pressure, and that is why i check my regularly. I know in my heart that the tire pressure was not low on this tire and it worries me that it could happen again to another tire on this truck, maybe this time with more dire consequences. I have lost faith in goodyear, dodge, and the dealer, and feel totally out of control when driving this vehicle with goodyear wranglers. I'm caught between audi which takes no responsibility for the tires on their cars and goodyear.

I would like to report a problem with goodyear tires. My vehicle is equipped with goodyear wrangler lt235/80r17 all terrain tires. My tire dealer indicates that these tires are less than 4 years old based on the manufacturers code date, yet all 6 tires have splits in the side wall due to "rotting" according to my tire dealer. Some of these splits are very deep, up to 1/2" wide and 4" long. I have never had this kind of problem with any other brand of tire. The vehicle is driven every day, and i care for the tires by maintaining proper inflation and doing regular rotations. If i'm not the only one having this problem this could become a serious situation, for had i not followed proper tire maintenance procedures on my truck, i would have never been aware of the impending tire failures, as the deep cracks were all located on the inside of the tire out of normal view.

The tire provided for the spare tire recall is not the recomended tire size for the vehicle.the owners manual says only the factory specified tire can go on an all time four wheel drive vehicle.however jeep still provided a different tire size.in addition with the larger spare inside the rear compartment, you can no longer use the safety netting or the privacy cover because the tire is larger than the original spare.the safety netting is very important in a crash to keep objects from hitting occupants inside.you can now no longer use the netting.the manufacturer needs to provide the correct spare!!! I had just exited a busy interstate highway when the spare tire fell from under the truck. After examining the spare tire retaining cable i found it had rusted in half allowing the tire to fall. If the tire had fallen out 30 seconds earlier it would have resulted in a multi car pile up with possible serious injury or death to those behind me. I feel this cable should be replaced by stainless steel cable which will not rust or at the very least a secondary safety chain be added to at least keep the tire with the truck !! i am now afraid to follow any gm made truck !

The vehicle is a 2002 dodge ram sport 4x4 with 28,000 miles with goodyear wrangler hp 275/60/20 tires. I have had 12 tires which had to be replaced when they were ruined after going flat from puntures as well as numerous flat repairs. Complaints to both daimler chrysler and goodyear yielded nothing but comments of surprise on both their parts with a reminder that there is no warranty on the tires. The dodge brochure says off road rated tires, goodyear says excellent off road traction. The tires have no puncture resistance, the present tires have hundreds of cuts, some through to the belts. Last new tire blew with just 100 miles on it. First flat was at 250 miles on vehicle. When the tires are punctured the inner liner splits making repairs improbable. Goodyear is the only manufacturer of that size tire so there are no alternatives. Perhaps the lemon law may help, goodyear and daimler chrysler will not. Good news is that i can probably get a job on a nascar pit crew with my new found tire changing speed which may help supplement my income to buy more tires for my truck.

I have a set of goodyear wrangler ap tires on my vehicle. They are suppose to have a traction rating of a, but i believe this is incorrect. Based on my experience with these tires over the past 24,000 miles, traction is very poor with these tires on wet and dry surfaces. They break traction very easily, even during slow acceleration starts. Sudden stops on wet surfaces are just as poor.

No additional problems within the past week after receiving the jeep from the shop.

While driving home from jackson,ms on interstate 20 on sat.
Dt: had 2 blowouts on the left sideona travel trailer.the tread separated from the tire and the steel belts came through the tires (holiday rambler travel trailer).
The first failure was an original equipment goodyear wrangler at on the right rear.the tread seperated at highway speed and caved in the side of the pick up bed but did only minor damage to the 5th wheel travel trailer i was pulling.the second failure was a kelly safari awr lt245x75/r16 on the right front.the tread seperated at highway speed denting the passenger door and rocker panel and breaking the fender well and some bumper componnents.the vehicle was unloaded at the time.in both cases, the ambient temperature was above 90 degrees f.in the first case, good year did not accept responsibility at all.in the second case, kelley paid for the loss completely.both tires were load range e with about 40,000 mile of use.both tires had lots of tread left (the wear bars were not even beginning to show.)the first tire (good year) threw aprox 80% of the tread but remained inflated (80psi) and on the rim.the second tire (kelly) threw about 50 % of its tread but also remained inflated (65 psi) and on the rim.this second incident presented a much more difficult control situation being on a front wheel, but i was still able to maintain enough controll to clear the roadway and stop without further damage.in light of today's news about similar firestone tire failures on suv type vehicles, i felt you should know that it is not just firestone or ford with the problem.large suv tires are loosing tread almost as readily as commercial vehicle re-caps.( dot number: tire size: 245x75/r16 )
The contact owns a 1999 ford explorer equipped with good year wrangler tires, tire size 235-75-r15.the contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the rear passenger's side tire exploded due to tread separation. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle and entered into oncoming traffic, crashing into a concrete barrier. The contact suffered injuries to the wrist, lower back, and neck. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.the vehicle was destroyed. The current and failure mileage of the vehicle was 180,000. The dot number was not available.the failure mileage of the tire was not available.

There was a problem with the traction of the tires which caused the vehicle to slide when stopping and turning corners. Consumer has complained to the dealer; dealer said this problem was normal for this vehicle.

Traveling at 65 mph on the interstate, my 2003 holiday rambler blew three valve stems out of the tires. The valves separated where the rubber and metal insert went together. The tires went flat right a way and caught fire. I got the trailer off to the side of the road without upsetting it. While looking at the damage the fouth valve stem blew. I was lucky my family and i was not killed. Someone with less experience in towing them could upset the trailer and cause a serious accident or kill some one. Holiday rambler was notified and told me it was my problem cause the camper was over a year old. Holiday rambler is made by monco coach. I feel that monco should pay for the road service and new tires they had to put on to get the camper on the road.

County, cracked cylinderhead - cost $1200.0002/2002 - brought vehicle in for oil change & alignment, and found the brakesystem and fuel system were bad, replaced brake rotors, calipers, gaskets, seals, and hoses were leaking, the fuel system was leaking and to this day, i still smell gasoline everytime i park . Cost - $950.0007/2001 - brought vehicle in for tires, and find the radiator not working, and the cooling fan was cracked all the wasy around on every blade, had toreplace radiator, fan assy and all hoses & clamps. - cost - $ 800.0001/2001 - front brake disc rotors were bad, replaced - cost - $ 300.0003/2000 - routine 30k service + vehicle would vibrate and shudder when braking,so rear brake rotors & drums were surfaced and/or replaced, +replaced the following gaskets, seals, & plugs because of major leaks;work by ford dealer, #fotz6710c oil pan gskt, intake manifold gskt& valve cover gskt, #f5tz9439a manif. When we first noticed the accelerator sticking, the dealer would not look at it until they could duplicate the problem so we literally had to smash our foot on the accelator to get the vehicle to accelorate.at times we were trying to cross 4 lanes of traffic and the accelerator would stick in the middle of the intersection at which point the dealer could reduplicate the problem and the throttle plate was cleaned.approximately 1-2 months later it began showing the same symptoms only this time it is taking longer to completely stick.it was explained to me that the dealer will not be reimbursed for the parts by gm if they can't prove the accelerator sticks first.my question then is do i have to be killed by an oncoming semi while trying to cross 4 lanes of traffic before someone will fix my vehicle properly.my next question is am i the only one complaining about this.someone needs to take a closer look at this problem and fix it before a fatality occurs.my last question is what causes this problem.i have heard a variety of excuses that throttle plates get dirty, a new car shouldn't be doing that, etc, etc.help!!!!!( dot number: tire size: 16 )

While traveling on ice at 10 mph vehicle kicked into four wheel drive, causingconsumer to lose control andsmash into two retaining walls since there was no steering.consumer had previously serviced vehicle for a strange noise and going into four wheel drive on its own...also replaced automatic transmission pcm and windshield wiper blades.
