Updated 7/3/08 the consumers son was driving, when all of a sudden, the right front tire blew out. The dealer replaced the lower control arm, steering knuckle, ball joints and the inner and outer tie rod ends. Updated 07/03/08

While drivingon the road at 55 mph, went through a series of bumps on the road which began uncontrollable vibration or wobbling, and violent shaking, in the steering column and front end. Front end and tires appeared to be moving left to right in the uncontrollable wobble. This happened at all speeds after hitting bumps on a highway and components on the front end appear to be visually intact.this vehicle is a wrangler x unlimited 4 x 2 - 4 door.all 4 incidences took place within 50 miles. This vehicle has never been off road.

Purchased a 2005 jeep unlimited may 2005.august 2006 noticed a steering vibration at speeds of 53-55 mph.dealer said they tightened the stabilizer arm and that the vibration problem was due to tire cupping. They immediately went into rhetoric about proper tire rotation and sent me on my way.i took the jeep to a different mechanic that said the rack and pinion joint was leaking and the tire problem was do to poor alignment.i contacted the dealer service manager and relayed the new information.she said that chrysler recommends front end alignment every 12000 miles.the jeep has 15000 mile currently.the jeep has never been off road and has only been used to as from work.

Prior to purchase of the vehicle a vibration and bouncing was noted on the test drive, the dealer assured me that the problem would be corrected and two days later they replaced the tires.this did not eliminate all of the bouncing, the dealer again serviced the vehicle, the salesman and the service manager both rode with me in the vehicle and agreed that there was a problem and that it would be corrected even if all of the suspension components, wheels and tires had to be replaced.one day later i was told that the bouncing was characteristic of the vehicle and that there was nothing they could do about it, no other solution was offered.i do not feel the vehicle is performing correctly and is not safe.

The contact owns a 2004 jeep grand cherokee.the vehicle has goodyear wrangler st tires.the contact stated that he must inflate his tires every two weeks.the wheels are aluminum and that is why he feels that the tires were always underdeflated.the dealer found no tire failure.the dot number and tire size were unknown.the current mileage was 40,000 and failure mileage was 15,000.

I drive a 2001 chevrolet tracker.while applying the brakes gently and traveling at 20-30 miles per hour, i have more than once experienced frightening skidding driving on dry, dew-moistened, and wet pavements.this occurs when coming to a stop before a turn; a left or right turn has the same effect.i am listing the most recent date of occurrence.my husband has had the same experience with a passenger in the vehicle; he drives a 2002 chevy tracker, which he purchased shortly after i purchased mine.

I bought new gmc sierrra in mid 2004, truck equipped with goodyear wrangler st.truck exhibits very poor wet traction and excessive tire wear.when tire was approximately at 18,000 miles had serious spin out on i75 south of tampa in lite rainy condition.since then noticed tire spin on slightest wet roads, even has trouble pulling out of car washes.this is dangerous tire and should not be instilled on large vehicles.tire is down to wear marks and only has 28000 miles.tires have been rotated and maintained only by gm dealers.goodyear dealer states this tire should not have been installed on full size trucks, it will wear excessively and may lead to blowout.dealership won't do anything and goodyear states it is not covered by warranty because it was original equipment installed by manufacturer.

Dt: the contact has a pickup truck that has original factorygoodyear wrangler st tires,p215/75r15.when the vehicle was taken to a local repair shop for maintenance the technician noticed slits up to three inches long on the sidewall above the bead running with the circumference of the tire down to the inner fabric on all four tires.there have been no previous problems with the tires. Because the tires were no longer covered by warranty he replaced all four tires with a different brands.he experienced no further problems after the tire replacement.there were cracks on 3 of the 4 tires. Updated 11/29/05.

Vehicle tires are cracking and ripping at the seams.*mr all four of the good year wrangler tires were defective. The service dealer was contacted. The consumer purchased four new tires.

I have a 2003 chevrolet silverado with 17,000 miles on it and the vibration with the tires are driving me crazy. I have had them rotated regularly. Infact, i have rotated them more than any vehicle i have ever had. I reciently had them "trued" and balanced. The vibration continues. After a visit to my local bill heard chevy dealer, they told me that the tires are in such bad shape that they would not "index" them. I now must show them documentation of when, where and who rotated my tires in the first 6,000 miles in order for them to do anything about the situation. Now i rotate my tire myself and therefor, i have no paperwork on it. Chevrolet says to take the vechile to agoodyear tire dealership and see what they will do about it. I got more/better response from them. If the tires are 25% or less in wear, then they will replace them. Keep in mind, i had them "trued" which means i had them "shaved" to a more round shape. So now i have gone the extra mile to get the vibration out of the tires by "trueing" them and now i have to have them "deapth checked" to see if there is enough tread to justifiy a replacement. Wow! talk about damned if you do and damned if you don't! chevrolet needs to step up to the plate and take care of there customers. I didn't buy a truck without tires, i bought a package deal. But when needed after the sale, it's the other guys malfunction and you need to go and see them. What has happened to our car companies? don't believe the comercials you see on tv.

Two weeks from this date i was driving down the road and had a blowout on the drivers side rear tire. Took tire to good year dealer they said it was a tire defect and they would only pro-rate the tire. Two days ago from today the passenger side rear tire is now cracking. Good year dealer said it was another defective tire and that it is a problem with good year tires on these size and models. Need a safety recall on these tires and free replacement before someone dies. The tires are crackeing and spliting along the base on the rim. Crack is about 8" - 12" long.

I`ve replaced the tires 3 times in 2001. I`ve had tires balanced numerous times. I`v e replaced all 4 shocks in 2001.(tiresize: 16)

The goodyear wrangler tires on the vehicle were out of round, causing the vehicle to vibrate while driving.*mjs

1. Normal usage under normal conditions. Vehicle is driven daily on highway and side streets; never off road or in areas of construction.2 three separate incidents there has been tire flats from foreign objects on the road. First incident 12/22/2008 in sidewall causing replacement2nd incident 6/1/2009 in tread requiring repair; third incident 8/19/2009 on sidewall causing replacement. 3. First incident required tire replacement, 2nd incident tire repair, 3rd incident tire replacement. Old tires are kept by supplier.two replacements required in less than two years.

After a flat on 9/30 of this year, i purchased a new set (4) of goodyear wranglerst tires, size p215/75/16, through my jeep dealer.within a day of light use, my 2003 liberty sport started to exhibit unsettled handling behaviors.the vehicle pulls strongly to the right where it did not before the tire replacement, the vehicle feels mushy at freeway speeds and is now very hard to keep going in a straight line.the feeling of lack of control is especially noticeable when trying to negotiate a left turn at speed (the vehicle seems to want to continue to go straight or left and, very noticeable under steer is present).the jeep feels very unsettled everytime the grade on the road crown changes along turns on back roads and is noticeable enough to compel me to slow down from normal speed limits.when traveling 55 mph and above the feeling of loss of control comes on with very minor changes on straight road surfaces.there is also vibration and noise coming from the right front area of the suspension (comes and goes in proportion to loss of control).the vehicle has 70,000 miles and is on its' third set of these tires (the only one that fits the oddball standard rim) but, this is the first set of these tires that have left me not wanting to use the truck for anything.i checked tire pressures and wheel lugs for tightness but, found nothing out of the ordinary.i had the dealer look at the problem and they kept it for 4 days (and 100 miles) saying afterwards that it needed only a wheel alignment (toe-in was out) after stating that it was alright when the sold me the tires 3 days earlier; they also checked their wheel balancing job and found nothing wrong with that.they went on that there was nothing wrong with any suspension components and that my truck behaved like many other libertys. Their work abated the right pulling a bit but, the behavior still varies in intensity with road changes.the vehicle does not feel safe even on dry roads.

Tires are seperating around the bead area.dt

I experienced two tire failures, six months apart, on my original equipment tires.both instances i was travelling on paved roads about sixty mph.i had some camping gear in the pickup bed, but by no means an excessive load.in each instance i felt a slight wobble, then experienced a tire failure.the sidewalls were completely shredded on at least one side.in the first instance i went to a les schwab dealer in lakeview, oregon (only dealer nearby).their person said it looked like a tire failure.i brought it back with me to my hometown of kennewick, wa, and took it to an authorized goodyear outlet to request an adjustment for the fire.they told me it looked like it was a road hazard problem(i must have hit something), and said it wasn't their problem.i left it at that, except to write goodyear at an address in my owners pamphlet outlining my warranty.i described the incident, expressed by disappointment, but neither asked for nor received a reply.the second failure six months later on another of the same tires i thought was a little much, so i purchased a new set of tires.i did not contact goodyear again as i did not expect any response based on not receiving any last time.luckily, even though both tires failed completely, i was able to stop my vehicle in a controlled manner with no injury or damage.this information is provided to you in case you receive notification of a number of similar failures in like goodyear tires.thank you. (dot number: m6hfekwr20tiresize: p215/75r15)

No road hazard came in contact with the tire. Outside temperature was approximately 103f. Complete separation of tread from sidewall. Nothing remained on rim but sidewall. Body damage to fender well as well as rubber burn marks, due to centripetal forcesfrom tire tread separating from sidewall.

In may 2005, i found that i had a nail in on of my wrangler goodyear tires and i took the truck to goodyear. When they removed the tire they found a crack near the bead. The tire only had 20,000 miles on it. They claimed this was the fault of ford motor company for improper mounting of tire. They claimed this was common. My tire was replaced immediately with an adjusted for wear. I contacted goodyear and ford and both blamed this problem on the other. Both companies should be ashamed of their deceptive practices. It is good that i had a nail in my tire or i could have been injured with a blowout.

Consumer has a 2000 dodge, dakota truck with original tires & 4,000 miles of accident.day before the oil & tire pressure was checked consumer was traveling 47mph in 4-wheel drive.weather conditions changedfrom dry to snowing. Consumer was following a light curved road &truck proceeded straight. Consumer had no steering with tires.consumer will add information due to low battery phone.

While driving, the left front tire blew out.goodyear wrangler st tire.

Drove approximately 30 miles, and turned into a driveway. Traveling no more than 10 miles per hour when the left front tire blew. The vehicle, a 2010 jeep wrangler sustained $1500 damage when the blowout jerked the vehicle into a stone wall.the jeep has 6,916 miles on it, has never been off road, and this is the second tire to blowout.

My son and a couple of his friends and i were traveling to a marlins game ,about a 2 hr. Drive from our house. I had made a visual ck. Of tires while fueling car before getting on i-95. All looked fine. About 3-4 miles as i was getting on i-95 the left rear tire blew out. I pulled off to a safe area and changed tire. Something seemed odd to me so the next day i inspected the tire to see if i could find any reason for the blow out. Tires are not that old and they appeared to have plenty of tread [3/8"]. To the untrained eye all seemed normal as i could find nothing on the tread area thatwould indicate any damage to that part of tire. The outer sidewall was shredded as i had to drive about a 1/4 mile to get off the on ramp to a safe area to change tire , inner sidewall showed little damage. I recall hitting or running over nothing that would have caused any damage to tire. My concern is that i have these tires on the other wheels as well as spare tire .this is my wife's car and i want to be sure she and my son will be safe. I've had tires go flat before but after making a point of checking them prior to our trip and the odd way they went flat ibecame suspicious that maybe something is wrong here. I'll have to take them back to dealer for replacement i'll see if they'll allow me to keep tire if you would like to inspect it .thank youjim dirks ..

My 4dr 1999 explorer rolled over one time due to a possible defective goodyear wrangler p235/75r 15 on right rear when it lost tire pressure when i made a left hand turn on a dirt road causing minor injuries and totaled it. I was charged with endangering the welfare of a child which is my three yr old nephew because this tire caused me to roll my truck - it was a accident by dunklin county in kennett, mo.

While returning from vacation my chevy silverado 1500 pickup truck picked up a vibration.upon checking, it was discovered that the front drivers side tire had belt separation.the only correction was to replace the defective tire which was done immediately.i now keep a close check on the remaining three tires.

When accelerating, the rear end went out of control.the good year tire dealer stated that the tire was the wrong type for the pick up truck. The tread design and the hard compound was a unsafe tire for the pickup. With a light rear end, it caused the truck to spinat a low speed and accelerate with out warning. The consumer is dissatisfied with good year service.

The tires had been aligned and rotated several times due to excessive wear on the inside and outside.*jg

Purchased 2 new(?) wrangler st tires from dealer on 11/09/2005 but date code on tire was 2504 to match original 2 still in good shape.breaks redone front end alignment performed.front end of truck still vibrated at higher speeds on level road.dealer tried numerous times to identify cause over 2-3 years.balanced and rebalanced the tires.did high speed test in shop.suspected tires, but could not identify exact problem with tires.on 30 oct. 2010 while traveling @ 70mph on clear day on straight interstate road, front passenger tire exploded.road was clear, nothing was struck by tire, outside temp was about 73 degrees f.tire was shredded to bits and only had about 31k miles on it.plenty of tread and no unusual wear patterns.took tire to dealer and replaced both front tires with coopers and now there is no vibration in the front coming from the tires.

I lease a new vehicle, trailer blazer on dec 31st 2005, from grand prize chevrolet on sw117 av and 152 st. At the end of june 2006 i had a blew up tire on i 75 going north, reaching tampa. It exploded on a side and because the way it looked i suspect it was defective tire. I call the seller at the dealer and explained to him. He told me to bring the tire to be inspected. My wife did it and they did not even look at it, they said it is not our problem. Am i in any way, since it has only 6 month after leasing it, protected against a possible defective tire issue?

I blew out the original tire on my suburban in sept, and spent $112.00 for a brand new replacement, and blew that tire out in november, the guy who put on my spare told me that there were problems with these tires splitting, or blowing, so i am having all of them replaced tomorrow... I talked to goodyear people here in haskell, and they say there is no warranty on them,, so it is my loss,, i dont think this is right.. And if these are defective i think someone, either the dealership or someone should replace them.... And goodyear should stand behind them,,,these tires are not safe<, please ,look into this and adivse thanks much,,jennabeth kimbrough, [email protected].

I have a brand new 2006 chevy silverado pickup and it came with p265/70r/17 goodyear wrangler st tires. At 2700 miles the right rear tire went flat while traveling on a paved road and at 5500 miles the left front tire went flat while traveling on a graveled road. Both tires had cuts in the center of the tires and were very similar. I complained to goodyear and they won't do anything about this unsafe tire.

Tires on 2003 chevy silverado do not have grip, they slide on slopes even in dry weather.you must prepare ahead of time to slow down to stop or you will slide or tires will just spin when you proceed on a hill or slight incline, no traction at all, consider dangerous.*la

I called pitre chrysler/jeep service director following the blowout of my right rear tire and asked if he any knowledge of tire failures of this goodyear tire.he said he had no knowledge of blowouts with goodyear wrangler.i told him i read an article about wrangler tire failures a few months ago.he said i was mistaken and that even though the 2000 jeep is under warranty there was nothing he could do for me.i find this suspect, especially coming from a person of his position at pitre chrysler/jeep.please feel free to e-mail me or call if you have any information to the contrary.thankyou, rob petersen (tiresize: p225/75r16)( dot number:tire size: p225/75r16 )

I just bought a c1500 regular cab short bed truck. I was appalled to find out that the tires are rated at 950 lbs. At max load of 44psi.the trucks dry curb weight is listed at 4142 lbs. And max pay load is 1958. These numbers indicated that the truck chevrolet supplied is on tires that are not even rated to hold the truck empty!i can't use my truck to haul or carry anything without exceeding the tire manufactures rating.the tires are goodyear wrangler st p235/75r16(passenger care tires?)i do not think i should drive this truck on these tires. I want gm to replace them with tires that are rated to the capacities of the truck that i bought on the assumptions given in the chevy truck brochures supplied at the dealerships.the tires on the truck are not even lt (light truck) and are a safety issue.this is a copy of what i submitted to the chevrolet.com website.i do not fault thorobred chevrolet dealership for this but do expect some corrective action. This truck was sold to me in an unsafe condition.there has not been an incidentthanks for your time please respond asap[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Tire blow out, side wall failure. This occurred at 70 mph. No indication of tire problem until failure.

Due to a manufacturing error of a tire, i had a blowout on the interstate that ended up totaling my car. The tread completely split from the tire while driving at 70 mph.luckily, i was able to pull to the shoulder without any collisions or damage to myself or others.the blowout ripped off pieces of the front bumper, some siding of the car, and caused huge cosmetic damage in addition to wrecking the frame and causing some internal damage, including a leak of wiper fluid.my car was a 2006 jeep liberty (with 60,000 miles) and the tire was a goodyear wrangler st tire with dot # m671 eker.(there was no set of numbers following the eker as on most tires, just a blank space.)

2003 chevrolet avalanche with "z66" package spare tire is a 16 inch tire. The vehicle is equipped with 17 inch tires. Sales literature indicates that the "z66" package upgrades all wheels 17 inch wheels. Despite manufacture and dealers claims the vehicle handling is very erratic with 16 inch spare installed. Dealer stated spare is for temporary use only. This is no consolation when the next exit on the highway is 40+ miles away. Manufacture and dealer both state that the tsb released resolves this issue. However, consumers are not provided tsb's in the show room.problem was discovered when passenger side rear tire went flat.while repairing flat tire it was discovered that the original tire was out of round and could not be balanced even with over 5 oz of weight on tire.replaced tire with brand new tire which required 3.5 oz weight to balance indicating bad rim. Dealer and manufacture both state that is normal amount of weight for 17 inch tires. The 3 other tires on vehicle have less than 3.5 oz combined weight to balance those. Dealer and manufacture both state problem must have been caused when original tire went flat. Original tire came from dealer with no weights installed and truck had pull to right when new. *la

Goodyear, wrangler st tires are splitting around the wheel.tires checked by dealer, who advised consumer that they are unsafe. Goodyear-wrangler st p215/75r15 vehicle is a 2000 dodge dakota sport original to vehicle dot no. M6hfekwr449 left front and right rear are splitting

Owner of 2001 dodge dakota p/u, with wrangler st tires, at 10000 miles tires cracked around rim, goodyear store only adjusted the front ones, which he said were cracked.the rear, he called dry rotting, normal wear and tear.the front tires 8000 miles later are cracked.i called westchase tire and auto , in houston, texas and the store manager mentioned that it was strange that this had occured again.i checked the nhtsa site and found the same type of failures were being reported since several years back.i am positive that neither goodyear nor dodge will fess up to any problems with these tires.i just hope that loss of lives do not occur before action is taken.i will have these tires replaced once more and see how long they will last this time.

All 5 (five) tires that came on my 2004 silverado are dry rotting. I am a 59 year old disabled woman and vehicle had 18000 when my son noticed the rotting.

Unsafe "goodyear wrangler st" tires. This morning in a light drizzle with the road getting wet but not puddled, my son and i while driving with inthe speed limit and making a 90 degree turn slid into the opposite lane, luckily no one was coming in that lane. This was the twelfth time that i have slid on a slightly wet road. The first time i was stopping for a red light and i began to fish tail, we went two more blocks to the next red light , put on my brakes and we began to fish tail again. These tires do not have any traction on a wet road, even at a slow speed. I now have 11,000 miles on these tires and from day one they have been unsafe on wet roads, i have had twelve close calls with these tires and i believe it is time for me to file a complaint. Would you please check the history record on these "goodyear wrangler st" tires and see if there are any more complaints. I am 69 years old , driving since i was 16 and never had an accident, and i don't want one now over these tires that have no traction. I think that goodyear should take these five tiresback and give me safe tires that have tractionon wet roads. These tires were on the brand new dodge dakota pick up truck that i purchased.thank you, [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

During a periodic maintenance check it was found that three of the four tires were separating at the bead.

The contact owns a 2007 dodge nitro 4x2.the vehicle has goodyear wrangler st, size p225/75/r16 tires.the contact stated that the vehicle has had a flat tire every three weeks since it was purchased.she also stated that the tire pressure monitor lights remain illuminated.the dealer continues to inspect the vehicle every three weeks and stated that the tire is not leaking.the dealer always replaces the valve stem, however, the tire pressure lights remain lit and the tire continues to flatten.the dealer stated that they will not replace the tire because they cannot prove that it is defective.the powertrain was unknown.the tire failure mileage was 5,123 and the vehicle current and failure mileages were 5,800.

Wrangler st 215 75r 16 tire failure.no nails or other hazard damage apparent. Sidewall spilt from bead to tread.highway speed to 30 mph when blowout occurred.tire was oem on 2003 jeep liberty.

Tires, gooyear wranglers. Coming apart on the sidewall about 1/2 inch from the rim. First set were replaced and the problem persists with these new ones as well. Am i to expect a blow out to get some attention to this potentially dangerous situation.

Oe tires, goodyear wrangler st (235x75x16).ehicle was an empty 2002 chevy silverado. Follow a strict rotation plan and check the air pressure often.ignificant "cupping" noticed on the sidewalls on front and rear tires.very poor traction in adverse weather conditionsdry traction is marginal at beston january 3rd, 2004. I was proceeding on the northbound hwy 14 through the mountains from los angeles to lancaster proceeding around a slight right turn between 65-70mph. There was no debris or other hazards in the road. There was a slight wobble and then the complete tire failure on the passenger-side rear tire. The sidewall of the looks like it exploded outward, complete sidewall separation.while i was capable of manuvering my veichle off the freeway, this is a very dangerous problem, that from reviewing tirerack.com and other complaints on nhtsa's web site appears to be a common occurance with these tires. I am going to see if the dealer will allow me to exchange my tires with similar priced ones from a differant manufacture, these tires are unsafe and i do not trust my life or anyone elses life on them.

Flat tire. Side wall has slits right next to the rim of the wheel.after obtaining a flat tire i had my garage man check the other 3 tires and they all were the same , with slits in the sidewalls. Unsafe to drive on.

While driving consumer noticed thatvehicle was swaying back and forth. Consumer pulled over, and noticed thatdriver's rear tire blew out from the sidewalland was cracked open.all four tires had stress marks located on the sidewall. Goodyear, wrangler st, p215/75r15, dot# m6hfeywr348 . Second set, p215/75r15, dot # m6hfeker3800.the consumer had the same problem twice.the sidewall on all four tires split.*tc

While driving 35 mph, the left rear tire blew out without any indication.three new goodyear tires had sidewall tread separations within a period of less than two months.one resulted in a blow out and two of the tires had a knot on the sidewall.refer to odi#10027229. *scc

The side walls on all the goodyear wrangler st tires on my jeep have dry rot.while driving on a interstate, late at night, one of the tires blow through the side wall.due to a slow leak in one of the other tires in the area of the side wall, sullivan tire, alocal goodyear tire dealer, inspected the tires and advised me that all the tires had some degree of dry rot in the vicinity of the side wall (a possible quality control problem) and they should be replaced.sullivan tire is contacting goodyear for instructions on the replacements.

Sidewalls have split on all four tires which came new with the truck, two were so bad you could see the inner sidewall. The garage failed the truck on inspection, said the tires were a safety hazard. I did not misuse these tires no 4-wheeling, no heavy loads, no constant long distance travel; work was 10 miles one way.my mother spent a great deal of time on the phone with goodyear and sullivan tire (the name goodyear gave us as their authorized dealer). There was no satisfaction because goodyear and sullivan insisted they could only pro-rate the tread on a replacement.the tread was not the problem!!! all four tires should have been replaced free of charge because they were a safety hazard.my mother paid $431.71 for four new tires, which is less than $100 under the price sullivan would have charged for four new tires.the tires should have been free of charge! i see from the complaints already submitted that this is an on going problem with these tires. Goodyear insisted they had received no other complaints on this tire. They obviously lied.dt

My son who is 17 years of age was driving and notice something wrong . We check his tire and notice metal threading coming from the inside area of the tire. We took it to the local dealer for new tires and was told this was a manufacturer defect. This vehicle is not even 5 years old.

3 of 4 tires have sidewall cracks around the rims 360 deg.goodyear dealer says not serious.i am concerned about possible tires failure, in particular during cornering.i believe the tires should be replaced for safety. (tiresize: p225/75r15)

At 8,000 miles one of the tires went flat.the vehicle was taken to the tire dealer which found all four tires (goodyear wrangler st p215/75r15) had cracks in the tire wall.the tires were replaced with the same brand of tire.now the driver front and rear tires have cracks in the tire wall.the consumer filed a complaint with dodge #11259201.*nlm

On saturday (3/13/2004) while traveling on i40, the goodyear tire on the rear passenger side of my car began to smoke and less than 10 seconds later completely disintegrated along the perimeter where the tread meets the side.i had my car serviced by a chrysler dealer on 3/08/04 before driving 130 miles to a conference in spruce pines, nc on 3/10/04.it was on the return trip from spruce pines where the tire collapsed.also, after the tire was changed i stopped (less than 10 miles later) and checked the air pressure in the other three tires and they all showed between 35 and 36 psi of pressure.this incidence was not caused by under-inflatioin as suggested by a local goodyear dealer.

Sidewall of tire blew out going down a mountain highway. No tread puncture just massive blowout out tire that had been replaced only 5 months earlier.the other tires were the same model but original equipment. Because of where this blew out, my son and i could have been killed. (tiresize: p225/75r16)

The sidewalls of all 4 of my wrangler st tires are failing at the seams, and at the same time.the service manager at my goodyear store called it "flow cracking" and said "that is not good". The tires are original to the truck installed during it's production. The following is additional information found on the tires: dot m6hf fkwr 258, there is a number and letter, e13 enclosed by a circle, another number located on tire is t302962-gpf-95-mms , there is a number 100s and the letters bs, another number is 026951 m+s, goodyear is replacing the tires under the warranty on a prorated basis as a result of this defect in the tire. The local goodyear store is edwards auto service center 13936 jeff-davis hwy woodbridge va 22191, 703 494-7181. Fax 703 494-5140, they said it'd be a week before the replacements arrive. I submit this as the start of any paper trail should this goodyear tire defect, be a prelude to a situation as occurred with firestone and the ford explorer. (dot number: m6hftiresize: p215/75r15)

The tires had deep cuts in them down to the thread.while getting the vehicle servicedmechanic noticed the problem with the tires.consumer purchased four brand new tires of the exact make and model as the first set.the new set of tires experienced the exact same problems.

Significant sidewall cracks noticed above the rim on three tires (fourth tire new after replacement from blowout two months ago).wrangler st 215/75r/15. Tires have 30k miles and two years old.goodyear store manager in college station tx said there is no safety issue with our removing tire from rim and inspecting inside of sidewall. Refused to consider problem as manufacturing defect.did offer pro-rated replacement as warranty issue.z8jb

While driving a 2001 jeep grand cherokee at 55 mph with driver/ passenger, and two children right rear tire blewout from sidewall. Original equipment, tire size p245/70r16, dot# m69ldywr0201.

While driving on an expressway my rear tire blew out. The sidewall completely separated from the thread. The tire was replaced by goodyear. The tire had only 3400 miles on it.the tire was a wrangler hp, the vechicle was a dodge 1500 4x4.

Left rear tire blow out while driving at 70 mph. Tire sidewall was shattered.

This tire had a major blow out through the sidewall.side wall had a major split on the outside and the inside. Nothing was hit. The vehicle crossed 3 lanes of traffic before control was established. The vehicle had just been picked up the 2 days before and the air pressure can not be verified.tires did not appear to be under inflated. (dot number: pd70tiresize: p245/75r16)

The sidewalls on the front tires split on the outside and inside . I found the defect myself.replaced the tires.i still have the old ones.the truck had only a little over 12k miles on it.the dealer blew me off.

We purchased a 2004 jeep liberty equiped with goodyear wrangler st tires two weeks ago.with less than 250 miles on the car/tires, our daughter was driving home from university at approx 60mph (temp about 85 degrees, clear & dry) when the sidewall on the right front tire split (completely) around the entire circumference of the tire.she was able to bring the car to a stop without an accident.about 3" of the outside side wall is completely severed from the rest of the tire. There is no evidence of road damage to the tread or sidewall, except for the scuff marks left from the incident.the car was new so we had not checked the tire pressure, although they did not appear to be underinflated and the car was not overloaded. There were no passengers.the failed tire was a goodyear wrangler st, p215/75r16,serial no. T307589 grf 95m3ms. The dealer has offered to replace the tire but we are concerned about the reliability of the remaining tires, which were manufactured at the same time based on the serial numbers.this was essentially a brand new tire on a brand new car and it suffered a catestrophic failure under normal load and driving conditions. We are very concerned about this.

Goodyear wrangler hp p275/60r20 within the 50,000 miles that are on my 2004 dodge ran 1500 quad cab truck i have gone threw 2 sets of these tires they have a major early wear problem for starters. But worst of all around 25,000 miles the tread separates on the 1st set the tread didn't come all the way off the truck just bounced me into the ditch the 1st one that went was in the front and i was on the highway. When it happens in that case the truck becomes uncontrollable. After i replaced ithappened to 2 more shortly after. Now i am on the 2nd set they have 25,881 miles on them yes that's it and the tread completely came off of 1and another is about to do the same. They also have a major problem with early wear. The thing that really gets me is when i called goodyear the 1st time i was told my warranty was up after a year no ifs ands or buts about they wouldn't do anything about it. The same thing was said to me today when i called about the second set. Apparently jodi from goodyear corp. Office didn't know i was at a garage location earlier and found to have a 50,000 mile warranty. O_o_o_o_o i'm sorry mr. Wolfe that tire does have a 50,000 mile warranty. I can drive anything with a motor and anything that drives without a motor when they go on the highway trust me there is nothing you can do about it. My father also bought the same truck as me with the 20 in wheels and is having the same problem. It is just a matter of time before people start dyeing on the highways just like firestone and goodyear wont do anything for those of us who have them. God bless. Jw

Tread separation. No punctures, no flats, no strikes to tire. About 30 miles north of brady tx. Temp about 80f, light rain. Road was hard packed gravel under contruction. Heard noise from rear of turck. Slowed down but continued droving. A minute later a loud noise and the right rear tire was flat. Did not swerve off road as our speed was only 30mph. Pulled off road onto soft ground. Changed to spare. Replaced tire at del rio tx goodyear store on 6 july 2001. No signs of a nail or other puncture. No holes in sidewall. Tread was completely separated from what looked like an inner tube. The side wall was gone due to the rim and the road after the loud noise. The goodyear dealer had no explanation for the failure. I am concerned that there may be a defect in either the tires or the truck, and this could happen again. I still have 4 original tires on the truck.

While returning from vacation my chevy silverado 1500 pickup truck picked up a vibration.upon checking, it was discovered that the front drivers side tire had belt separation.the only correction was to replace the defective tire which was done immediately.i now keep a close check on the remaining three tires.

While traveling and without indication tires became fla.t technician indicated tread separation. Please provide further information.

Recall campaign; tires had been checked at intervals of 3k miles, and there were many indications that there was a problem.the consumer stated that at 38000 mileshe was informed that two of the vehicle tires had a split in the treads.the consumer took the tires to goodyear an was offered $50.00 per bad tire.the remaining tires were rotated to the front but the vehicle still pulled to the right after the alignment.all four tires have now been replaced with another brand of tire.*tc
