Multiple brake and steering shudder problems with 2004 titan nissan se crew cab truck, dealer makes mfg suggested repairs but shudder returns creating safety worries and fear of losing control of vehicle.moreover, transmission coolant line replaced wherein dealer informs me that blowout could lead to failure.front tires excessive wear, vibration and shudder with or without brake application.headlight switch design flawed, easily turned off when turn stalk activated or lights are dimmed from high to low beam.all the above problems occured and still are occuring within first 3500 miles!!
On way to work, i started braking while slowly coming to a red light. My brakes did not stop me and i crashed into another truck. I had extensive front end damage, while the other vehicle had none. When i applied the brakes, they went to the floor.also noticed pulling to the right....had new tires and alignment at sears(well after the accident) and, they said brakes were fine and did an alignment. When i had the accident damage repaired, i asked the dealer ship to check the brakes. They said they pulled the wheels and checked the brakes and road checked the truck, the braking incident failed to happen for them. So they claimed. I have also had other incidences where the wheels will spin upon acceleration from a stop on wet roads and also locking up on wet roads, and a grinding noise. Des someone have to get killed in order for gm to send out a recall notice for this defect? my truck now has 37000 miles o it but the problems have been persisting for several years. I also had to replace the two front tires at 20,000 miles( which i had done at sears after the accident) as they went completely bald. These what recourse do i have?
2003 darango has been taken to jim's dodge to have a problem fixed when you drive.they tell us that there is nothing wrong with it.while you drive the darango if you hit a dump it jumps to one side or the other it does not stay center.the transmission feels like it slips, or when it is started it like the vehicle just does not want to go.jim'[s dodge has told us that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, but that seems to all we have had with this vehicle.one more thing jim's dodge is not a very clean place to take your vehicle to have it worked on we have got the vehicle back with oil on the in side on the vehicle, on the paint, scratchs in the paint and on the bumper.the vehicle has come back with a very bad smell in it.it took us a long time to get the smell out.we called jim's dodge and told them about the smell and they told us that there was nothing tha they could do about it.the date might not be exact be close.

Brake pedal pushes back aggressively, shimmy in steering wheel at speeds of 35 mph. Steering wheel jerks at times to right and left at speeds of up to 50 mph along with brake pedal push back. This happened in a matter of days. The problem is getting worse. Dealership says i have to pay to get new rotors a brakes. I have not drove that aggressive nor slammed on my brakes to have rotors replaced, nor do i ride the brakes to have my brakes replaced this early in the game for a new truck do this! this is outrageous that i was never told about a possible brake and rotor problem. This is a major safety issue. I will not put my family in this truck. The corporate person i talked to says they are aware of the problem and addressed the problem with that i was not the only person having this problem, but no recall was issued not even a warning was posted. This is not general maintenance this is a major(safety) defect. Corporate told me that the rotors are to small for the truck. If there is a major accident who gets stuck with the bill my insurance company and i cover the gap. I have already replaced two tires for abnormal wearing in the front of the truck and that is after rotating several times. Is this a safety issue, like the one ford had on its explorer? i will not recommend this car company to anybody.
I have had the brake pads replaced three times in less than 4 years with only 30,000 miles on the vehicle; they pulsate when applied. I am afraid they may not grip sometimes and may cause an accident.

The brakes are defective, they do not stop the vehicle.the master cylinder failed.dealer stated they do not have the part.after the vehicle reached the 3000 mile mark the brakes began to squeak and whistle.on several occasions the vehicle brakes continued to have problems after service.the consumer stated that the calipers are binding against the rotors causingthe rotors to have hotspots.*tc

There is a humming noise in the 2 front tires and they are uneven.the dealership indicated that this is caused by 'feather wear'.dealership has replaced the shocks, tires ,and aligned the vehicle, but the problem still exists. Unable to determine the cause of the problem
The contact owns a 2008 ford ranger.while attempting to rotate the tires, the contact noticed that the tire tread was "chopping" or uneven.the dealer stated that the tire wear was a result of pulling his trailer on the rear of the vehicle without using the trailer pulling device.the owner's manual stated that the vehicle should be able to carry between 3,000-3,500 lbs.ford refused to replace the tires, which were not covered under warranty.the dealer was instructed by ford to adjust the torsion bar.the failure was discovered to be a mechanical issue, rather than a tire issue.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 8,300 and current mileage was 9,136.updated 09/23/08the consumer stated the vehicle would sway and vibrate due to the chopped tires. The car was inspected for ball joint problems (recall) @ 20,000 miles, the dealer said all was good and the work order states that the recall was performed. At 56,000 miles i was leaving turning around in my neighbors driveway when the lower ball joint on the passenger side broke, totally separated. There was no little warning before the joint broke. When the joint broke the suspension gouged the inside of the rim deeply.the car was towed to the dealer.i have yet to speak to them (this just happened and they are closed); however, i anticipate collateral damage to other suspension/steering components as well.

The contact owns a 2007 dodge durango.while driving 65 mph and towing an rv, the front driver side tire came off of the rim.the vehicle and the rv were destroyed.the tires were inspected and a technician stated that they were 2-ply sidewall tires, which could only support 1,300 lbs, although the manufactured advertised that the vehicle could tow 10,000 lbs.therefore, the tires that were placed on the vehicle were meant for light passenger vehicles.the failure and current mileages were 12,000. 06 nissan titan pickup comes equipped with goodyear wrangler sra265 70 r/18 tires.this is a road tire with virtually no traction match for a light rear pickup truck.truck experiences rear tire spin and hydroplaning on wet roads.almost lost control twice. Nissan nor goodyear will do anything about resolving this problem. This is going to get someone killed.this tire is a total mis match for this vehicle.
My daughter was returning home to madison, al from auburn university, alabama using interstate i-65 north. Just outside of birmingham, al at mile marker 170 she had a blowout of the right rear tire. The tire tread seemed to completely separate from the sidewall all around the tire. The tire was completely useless. The tire was on a jeep grand cherokee overland with full time four wheel drive, which we believe helped my daughter come to a safe stop on the highway median. The tire was a goodyear wrangler sr a p235/65 r17 dot mk87 dywr 0506. We are now very concerned about the quality of the remaining wrangler tires on this vehicle and if it is safe to continue to use them. Pictures of the damaged tire and the tire itself are available.
Took the truck into get the tires rotated and the technician found a bulge in the tire tread of one of the rear tires on the truck. Spare was installed on the truck while the tire was replaced under road hazard warranty that was purchased with the tire.

Goodyear tires delaminating !goodyear wrangler sra, lt265/60r20etraveling on i-40 in arizona in october 2016 and a rear tire comes apart for no apparent reason with only 24k on the truck. Safely stopped the truck and installed the spare tire. Thankfully no one was killed or injured and the truck and r/v did not roll over and crash !now feeling bumping in the other three tires due to onset of delamination.took truck to the chevy dealer in lake havasu city and they told me... We will replace the one tire that has grossly came apart but...nope sorry we can't do anything with the others "we don't see a bubble" the dealer in has told me to "run them there fine".these tires are separating too and if i do as the dealer suggests by "run them there fine"and another one lets go and i wreck out killing my wife and children and smear bodies all over the highway, who's on the hook ???disgusting how this dealerships decisions about an entire families safety and that on the general public is based on nothing more them profit !!!
The goodyear wrangler sr/a on my dodge durango (oem) are a horrible and dangerous suv tire.these tires have no traction in wet or snow conditions, and even though the suv is awd, the tires hold the vehicle on the road.i checked various web site ratings on these tires to make sure i was not the only one who felt this way.as an example, tirerack.com, 1010tires.com all have numerous reviews that indicate these tires are awful and potentially dangerous due to their construction, tread design etc.i contacted goodyear and chrysler--neither are willing to do anything or accept any blame here.i now have to find a good set of tires in the odd size of 265/65/17 to put on my suv before i slide out of control in snow/ice this winter.its a disgrace.

Complaint received via e-mail.") i exchanged the 4th tire off my pickup. It is a goodyear lt235/80r17 with many side wall open wide, cracks. It was done at west tire, 4000 hwy 281 north,, marble falls ,tx78654 phone 830/693-0475,,fax 830/693-0602. It would be nice if you would impound that casing for your examination and fact finding. There was no accident or hard hitting a curb involved , it just appeared the tire had 10./32nds rubber left of 15/32nds and was discovered at an oil change, surely these many failures are worth examining." *tc

Left rear tire on ram 2500 megacab blew while towing a wildcat 312bhx 5th wheel on 7/25/2020 at 4:30 pm on i 26 w in sc about 1 mile west of exit 72. Traveling at 65 mph, tire was inflated to 78 psi and no alarm received from tpms system prior to tire blow out, felt a weird vibration immediately before the tire blew. The blow out caused $5817.45 worth of damage to the truck, not including the cost of new tires. No additional accident happened because we were able to pull safely off the interstate onto the shoulder and remove any large debris pieces from the interstate.
While traveling on the freeway had a drivers rear tire blow-out on the interior sidewall. All tires were inflated to manufacturers recommended air pressure.the tire had 7,500 miles on it!goodyear would not honor the warranty on the tire.no foreign object was found, the side wall rubber is protruding.the tire was a goodyearwrangler sr-a p235/70r16
Felt a vibration in the steering wheel after getting tires rotated on the truck. My husband followed me in our other vehicle and verified that the driver side front tire was bouncing as truck was driving down the road. Took truck back to discount tire in jacksonville, fl they removed and inspected the tire and found a bulge in the tread of the tire. Spare was installed on the truck while the tire was replaced under road hazard warranty that was purchased with the tire.

All four tires have tread separation from the wall documented by three separate mechanics at less than 30k miles; slow leak on one tire, no debris/damage to tire caused leak, mechanics stated it is caused by the separation of the tread to the wall. Normal city/highway driving, no off road.
During a road trip with my 2004 dodge durango the speedometer constantly read 3 - 4 mph faster than gps and the odometer/tripometer read 516.5 miles when proven to be only 500 miles with gps. Gps was linked to 9 different satellites throughout the entire trip (extremely accurate).contacted dealer and was told that everything that controls speedometer is within allowable limits and nothing can be done to fix.tire size may fix the problem with odometer/tripometer but not covered under warranty.

The side walls of all the tires that came with the truck are unzippering around the sidewall near the writing. It is in a circular path all the way around the tires. The tires are properly inflated. I have seen the same damage to other truck tires of the same style. I was told by good year it is normal for this to happen. The left front tire was removed for safety reasons. I was told it was in danger of a sidewall blow out. It will not even hold air. It leaks out of the crack.
The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 1500 equipped with goodyear wrangler sr-a tires, size p265/70/r17. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the sidewall on the tires blew out. The contact pulled over and noticed that the tires were p rated instead of a light truck tire. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the contact was informed that the tires were for passenger vehicles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the contact needed to speak with the tire manufacturer. The contact called the tire manufacturer who told him to speak with the vehicle manufacturer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.
Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle was parked when the side walls of the two front tires were noticeably splitting.the tires were taken to a local tire dealer, who determined that the tires needed to be replaced and offered to prorate the tires under warranty.the tires were not replaced.the contact encountered a nhtsa recall # 02x001000 regarding the tires: tread/belt.
I have a 2006 nissan titan king cab. It has goodyear wrangler tires sra 265 70 r18 on it. In the first two times i have had it in light rain on good highways it hydroplanes horribly at medium speeds{45 to 55 mph}. I have nearly lost control of this vehicle several times in light rain. The tires on this vehicle do nothing to channel away water in my opinion.i went into a slight curve in the rain and the vehicle just wanted to go straight. The match of this tire with this truck is going to kill someone. The tire optionlisted later in this complaint do not give goodyear wrangler as an option. So i had to put in something to proceed ,please note this.
I purchase a new 2010 ford f-150xlt in april, 2010. The truck came with goodyear wrangler sra tires. Two of the tires lost a great deal of tread between 16500 and 18000 miles, necessitating all four tires be replaced. I contacted my ford dealer and goodyear and the tires have been replaced. I was told the goodyear wrangler sra tires are backordered and had to purchase goodyear wrangler adventure all season tires. The technicians at the ford dealership advised me they have seen excessive wear on many other of the wrangler sra tires. I received a prorated allowance for the new tires; but do tires only last 18000 miles now. My previous f-150 tires had over 60000 miles on them and had more tread than my 2010 f-150. There has obviously been many problems with this tire and i do not feel i should have had to pay anything for the replacement tires.
We were driving at about 35 mph when we heard a pop and the left rear tire had blew apart in the tread area. Very unusual. We hit no holes. The tires have about 12,000 miles on them. Goodyear wrangler sr-a 255/75/17. Obviously a defect.
2004 dodge durango approx 6300 miles traveling on interstate at 65 mph right rear tire(goodyear sr/a p265/65r 17) exploded.once stopped after approx 400' to 500' foundtire tread completely separated from sidewall on one side of tire only. Completely inspected tire numerous times looking for cause of failure found no punctures cuts, etc. Brought tire to goodyear tire store for replacement. Upon returning for tire, was informed they had found puncture hole in tire. That had caused the tire torun low and the rim had cut the sidewall. I have the tire, the tire shows minimal abrasion on the failed side only. Was informed by goodyear they are not aware of any other sidewall failures with this tire. Investigated myself to find hundreds of the same complaints on the internet. Regardless of the cause of failure,( if my tire did have a puncture at time of failure) it would seem inherently unsafe for a tire to have this kind of damage in such a short stopping distance.this tire was also inspected by two independent garages and they do not agree that the puncture caused the damage. Luckily, my wife was not injured during this incident.
The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado equipped with goodyear wrangler sra tires, size: p265/65/18 (na). While driving between 65-75 mph, the vehicle started to vibrate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected and repaired. The tires were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dot number was unknown. The approximate vehicle and tire failure mileage was 3,400.
The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado 3500 equipped with goodyear wrangler sr-a tires, size: 275/55/r20. While driving 50 mph on a mountainous road, the front passenger side tire blew out. The contact changed the tire with a spare and intended to replace the remaining tires with another brand. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vin was unknown. The vehicle and tire failure mileage was 24,469.
Consumer tires had excessive wear at 4800 miles.the tires were rotated and found to have 25% wear on the front and 20% wear on the rear tires.the consumer requested reimbursement.nissan*sc

Purchased goodyear wrangler sr-a 255/55/17 a little over a year ago. About 3 months after purchase my front left tires was flat and unrepairable. At that time didn't think much of it. But as time went by i noticed that once i hit speeds of abt 50 mph my front end started to shake severely. I assumed that i needed a front end alignment or balancing. However coming home several days ago my front and back right tires blew. Luckily i was driving at a low rate of speed and was able to control my vehicle and no other vehicles were passing or behind me. It could have been a different outcome if so.i decided to do web research to see if there were any similar issues and have found many with the same problem. I really do think goodyear needs to really look into this. I replace the tires with another brand and not once has my front end shaken like previously.

The first tire i had problems with was the front right tire that kept going flat, i had it checked to be fixed when the service man showed me the defect in the tire.the inside of the tire had a slit or where the seam was splitting all the way around the tire, only on the inside.i had to replace the tire and went ahead and replaced the front left tire as well.two weeks later driving my three children and my grandmother to go school shopping my back left tire blew.luckily i was on a dirt road and only driving about 20mph.upon changing the tire i noticed the same seam rippage or slit on the inside of the tire so i immediately checked the right back tire and found the same thing on it.so i have 3 out of the 4 tires on my 2004 ford explorer that have this defect.its very disturbing to think what might have happened if we had been on the highway when this happened and that both back tires might have blown.i have been researching these tires and so far have not found any recalls on this specific tire.goodyear, wrangler sr-a, p235/70r16 104s.

I purchased four goodyear tires @ sears in 2009..ever since i purchased these tires my truck has had a bounce between 35-40 mph.....i also had the front end aligned on the same day.....i noticed that there are bumps that stick out on the sidewalls and complained about this but was told thatwas normal when the tires are manufactured....i have looked at some other tires and do not notice these types of defect on these... I have taken my vehicle back at least four times to have the balance checked but still the same problem....and the problem is not addressed...i cannot help but think that these bumps on the sidewall are causing the bouncing...at the moment these tires have about 8,000 miles on them.
There are cracks along the inside and outside of the tires, which have developed and could cause the vehicle to have a blow out on the road. Manufacturer has been contacted and is aware of the problem.
I own a 2006 jeep grand cherokee. The vehicle came new from factory with goodyear tires: wrangler sr-a 245-65r-17.my wife was driving the vehicle in the highway and one of the rear tires blew out. Called goodyear and explained the problem. They created a file (#860902) and referred me to the nearest tire store near my home. An inspection of the tire by the store revealed no road hazard damage. The tire was a manufacturer defect. Goodyear refused to replace the tire and only offered a 56% reimbursement on the cost of the tire (not labor or installation). The jeep was purchased new in january 2006 and only had 13,000 miles with 30% tread wear.decided to purchase the replacement tire from www.tirerack.com. Mailed the invoice to goodyear today. Hope to receive a refund soon. Still am very disappointed they won't refund 100% of the cost of the tire. In addition, also worrying if the remaining tires on the car will follow the same pattern and blow up. The blown-up tire revealed 7 doughnut shaped holes on the side.

All four tires have tread separation from the wall documented by three separate mechanics at less than 30k miles; slow leak on one tire, no debris/damage to tire caused leak, mechanics stated it is caused by the separation of the tread to the wall. Normal city/highway driving, no off road.
While traveling at approximately 70 mph on an asphalt surfaced freeway, the right rear tire had a catastrophic side-wall failure and blew out.the failure led to a temporary loss of control of the vehicle before speed was reduced and control was regained.ambient temperature was about 75 degrees and the tire was approximately 8 months old with approximately 5,000 miles on it.
I have a 2007 dodge dakota it had 1880 miles on it when the drivers side rear tire blew out near mile marker 38.9 on route 80 east bound in nj. I was in the middle lane going 65 miles an hour when the outside sidewall of the tire developed an approximately two inch vertical split. The tire went down immediately, however i was able to get over to the shoulder without further incident. Aaa sent a truck out and installed the spare. The tire wasa goodyear wrangler sr-a p245/70r-16. The dealer that i purchased the vehicle from referred me to goodyear. I went to three goodyear tire stores and i was told that it was caused by a sidewall intrusion, and goodyear would not replace the tire. I e-mailed goodyear a complaint however i have not heard back from them. I had the tire replaced at the third goodyear tire store at a cost of $161.11. I kept the defective tire. I had checked the air pressure that morning before leaving home. There was no damage to the tire at that time, and non occurred that day prior to the incident. I was in the center lane of a major highway when it blew. The tire had less than 1900 miles on it at the time of the blow out and the tire was not damaged prior to the incident. It is beyond belief that goodyear would not warranty this tire, and it is even harder to believe that they do not even have any interest in looking at it.

Defective goodyear tires,sidewall bloo out.*mr
I drive a 2003 dodge 3500 drw and pull a 5th wheel once a month.tires are goodyear, wrangler sra, size: lt235/80r17 load rate e.i noticed an open crack on the sidewall of my front left tire and took my truck into a goodyear service center to have it checked out.they inspected it and said that all 6 tires should be replaced because of showing signs of cracking (on the sidewalls).to me this is an unsafe problem and i expected goodyear to replace them.no, i have to purchase new tires (they are prorating the bad ones).the tires had to be found in two different states because they did not have them in stock.i asked the service person if they see this a lot. His answer was he has seen it before.i contacted goodyear consumer relations and got the same answer.i checked the internet and these tires have a problem with the sidewalls.should be recalled and replaced with known quality tires.no incident occurred, saw problem before hand.
Dt*: the contact stated while approaching a traffic light at 25 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled.the vehicle restarted, the automatic transmission was placed into drive, but the vehicle would not move.the vehicle was shut off and turned back on 4 times, before it was able to move.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who could not duplicate the problem after performing a diagnostic test.the dealer informed the contact that all 4 tires were worn down unevenly and there were pieces of metal showing on the insides of the tires.also, it was determined that the brakes and rear rotors were worn, and needed to be replaced, along with all 4 tires.a nhtsa recall letter, #06v288000 on the vehicle, regarding the suspension: front: control arm: lower ball joint was received.the parts needed to repair the vehicle were not available at the local dealership.the manufacturer confirmed the parts were not available.the contact was placed on a waitlist.the vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop who suggested that the recall work should be performed prior to getting all the other components replaced.
Belt separation at highway speed left front tire
2004 jeep liberty, goodyear sr-a wrangler tire. Failure. Appears to be tire separation with major section of tread coming off. Before completely separating, tire section "beat" wiring loose from rear end of car causing electrical short to dashboard, rear signals. Tire currently at local goodyear dealer for replace.

While driving at 65 mph, the left rear tire exploded without warning. Dealer notified.the vehicle had a left to right movement in the rear and if the speed would have been any higher, the consumer could have loss control.the tires were checked for proper inflation before going out of town.the tire caused damage to the vehicle's pick up bed.the consumer disagreed with what goodyear found and requested that the tire be returned. *scc
Goodyear sra wrangler had catastrophic sidewal detachment and failure with 5000 miles on the dodge durango 2004 model.should have killed all aboard but luckily got off interstae just barely.
Noticed road noise that increased with mileage. Then slight vibration over time. Had tire rotations by oil changers and dealership. They noticed nothing about tires. When condition got more noticeable,i went to 2 tire shops. They first told me that i needed to go to a goodyear shop because i have tire separation. The second was a goodyearstore that told me that i had tread separation and twisted belts which were manufactured during the strike at goodyear and made by office personnel. Since thiswas clearly a defective tire, in my eyes, i felt that goodyear should be responsible for the expense of new tires. The goodyear shop statedthat they will submit this as road noise and get a minimum l refund back to help offset the cost of new tires that i must buy at the tune of $700.00. Of course we didn't want to put the same tire back on the truck. Also these tires had 26,300 miles on them. I have done nothing except check pricing at other tire places to see if i am getting any discount at all. Totally frustrated i felt that goodyear should pay for these tires to be replaced. Also they of course will charge all their other charges, balance, tire disposals, tire charges, balance. Even though clearly this is a goodyear fiasco. I was certain that thiswas happening all over the country, especially since the goodyear shop knew all about this defect.

I have had the brake pads replaced three times in less than 4 years with only 30,000 miles on the vehicle; they pulsate when applied. I am afraid they may not grip sometimes and may cause an accident.
We were driving at about 35 mph when we heard a pop and the left rear tire had blew apart in the tread area. Very unusual. We hit no holes. The tires have about 12,000 miles on them. Goodyear wrangler sr-a 255/75/17. Obviously a defect.
In the last 12 months i have had 3 flat tires on goodyear tires on 2 vehicles with metal and rubber combined valve stems. The stems come apart.this is a very dangerous situation.
