I was driving 35 mph on an asphalt paved road in my 2013 ram 1500 crew cab, with 3,842 miles on the odometer, on 11/july/2014. The left front tire, goodyear wrangler sr-a 275/60r20, exploded violently causes instant deflation. The tire tread split completely in half from outside top of rim to inside top of rim. During the process of all this, the tire managed to mangle my inner fender wall and rip my left front fender from its anchor bolts causing $1,200 worth of damage. Sears auto department replaced the tire at no charge due to being covered by roadside assistance. I filed a complaint with the goodyear claims department and had the tire mailed to their inspection department. I received a letter in the mail informing me that the claim was being denied due to no fault on the tire. Goodyear said the tire was punctured and had normal deflation. After receiving the tire back from goodyear, i took it to 3 separate stores in my town to get a second opinion. With over 85 total years of experience combined, the final verdict was a unanimous agreement...none of them had ever seen a 20" truck tire completely split form bead to bead in their entire career. I have letters to verify this information. I am now looking into a small claims court case against goodyear in order to get payment for the damage caused to my vehicle.

This complaint is for the goodyear tires that came on my 2017 dodge ram 1500. Tire is goodyear wrangler sa-r. Tire size is 275/60r20.i was driving through pa on the way to ny driving a little over the posted speed limit (70mph) when the front drivers side tire blew out with no warning. Only 5700 miles are one these tires and i was about 3 hours into a 6 hour drive with clear and cool weather conditions. There was no alert from tire pressure sensor stating they air was low. There was a loud bang and it pulled hard to the left into the left lane... Thankfully no other vehicles where in that lane. At that speed it could've easily been a crash with fatalities. I've seen similar complaints about this same tire doing the same thing but goodyear won't do anything unless they get a certain amount of complaints about this. This should not happen at 5700 miles unless an object was struck which is not the case.

We had three blow outs on goodyear tires with less than 15,000 miles on a 50000 mile tire in less than 1 mile on a state gravel road.we were only going 20 mph and the belts broke in the thickest part of the tire. I was being followed by another person on the third one. Goodyear is not standing behind tires saying i was off-roading on a state road.if i was going any fasteri would of flipped.i talked with other people and are having problems after 15,000 miles.i could understand with one , maybe two tires, but three at20mph with a short distance. Goodyear told me the tires are not to be driven on gravel. 90 percent of people drive on some type during the life of tire. They were being sold in a area were gravel is prevalent and they are not safe.no tire should fail in this way at 20 mph with a belt break with a small rock like would befound on many highways in many situations.these are goodyear wranglers sr-a made for off road vehicles such as 4x4s, trucks and many other vehicles made for dirt.

They had been rotated and inspected at mckenny chevy in gastonia ncaweek earlier. I had just come through the mountains on route 40 and if the tire had let go it could have been catastrophic.the dot tire number is from one of the other tires on truck. Matlock tirekept bad tire.
