Employee went in for an oil change and the shop found a 3 inch crack in the side wall of front left tire.

Tread separation experienced while vehicle was being driven on highway.

Four bubbles on the sidewall of my tire appeared - i took the tire to a goodyear dealer and he concluded that the tire was defective from the beginning when i bought it. It had 10,000 miles on the tire with original tire tread of 7/32 - it now has 6/32 tread. Goodyear gave me a $80.00 discount on a new tire - i called them and asked for a 100% discount since the tire was defective from the beginning. I have three other tires on the truck all goodyear tires and it appears they could be doing the same thing. I also discovered that there was recall on goodyear wrangler tires having the same issues just not on my tire since it is much larger and not that popular.

I have four goodyear wrangler silent armor tires on my pickup truck.one tire went flat due to tears on the sidewall of the tire.so i then inspected the other tires and found tears starting in each of the other tires as well as the rubber is peeling off the sidewalls like snakeskin.then the last couple months my steering wheel as begun to shake violently at any speed over 40mph.two of the tires are falling apart and beginning to get bubbles on the sidewalls.these tires only have 24,000 miles on them and are about 2-3 years old.i have heard similar stories to mine about these tires and all of them occur around 25,000 miles but goodyear warranty's these tires for 50,000.i have had no luck with goodyear working with me.people could die from these tires exploding and its time for something to be done against this company. Thank you for your time.

The contact owns a 2003 chevrolet silverado 2500 with goodyear wrangler silent armor tires, line size: lt265/75/r16. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact noticed an abnormal vibration in the steering. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the tread on the front driver side tire had separated. The contact replaced the tire with the spare and took the failed tire to the tire shop. The tire shop replaced the tire under warranty. There was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 12t003000 (tires:tread/belt) that could possibly have been related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the tire size was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.
