The contact owns a 2007 dodge ram quad cab, with goodyear wrangler hp 275/60r20 tires. While driving 70 mph the driver side rear tire blew-out, which caused him to swerve to the shoulder of the road.he could not change the tire because the jack nor the wheel nut that's standard, did not come with the vehicle. The failure mileage was 10,406. Updated 12/01/09 updated 12/29/09 the consumer stated the tire that blew out had dry rot. The consumer realized the only way the spare tire can be released from the cable is from underneath the truck after jacking it up on the frame, pushing the spare tire up to the frame and releasing the cable from the rim. The consumer also stated there was not enough spare tire cable length.updated 12/31/09.additional information from consumer. *njupdated 01/21/10.

I purchased a 2005 jeep liberty limited on 05/23/2006. Prior to taking delivery of the vehicle, i took it for a test drive and i noticed that the vehicle was pulling to the right and was told by the salesperson that it probably just needed an alignment. I received an "we owe you" for the alignment. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership for the alignment. The mechanic stated on the service slip that after he performed the alignment the liberty still pulled to the right and he stated that it was due to the crowning of the roadway. The road had nothing to do with it.it has gotten worse and i even drove it on a flat surfaced parking lot, first doing about 25 mph and it pulled right and then letting liberty coast and it still pulled right.i have owned and have driven several vehicles and i have never had this problem. Received a call from a customer service rep regarding the visit to the service dept. For the alignment and they were toldthat the vehicle was still pulling to the right and that i was not happy with my experience purchasing this jeep, they informed me that they would notified the service manager. I have not been contacted by the service manger. After doing some research on the internet, i see that jeep has had some problems with the pulling right issue, and has had some recalls. It still pulls to the right and seems to be worse. Number of failures would be everytime i drive the thing. This is a major safety issue that jeep chrysler needs to get fixed. The other concern i have is with the goodyear wrangler hp tires. These are not safe for this vehicle. I was at a stop light waiting to make a left turn, completely stopped waiting for the light to turn green. It had just started to sprinkle. Whenthe light turned green, i started to go forward and was just making my turn when the vehicle fishtailed and i spun completely around and was facing oncoming traffic. How could a vehicle spin out upon starting from a complete stop at a stop light???

Reference 2005 landrover lr3:i continue to experience excessive, abnormal wear on my tires.i've spent hundreds of dollars, but landrover continues to deny that there is a defect in the vehicle.i'm concerned about the potential safety issues that could arise.can you help me?

I purchased a dodge ram 1500 quad cab hemi 2007.it came with goodyear wrangler hp p275/60r20 tires.since i purchased the vehicle i have had major issues with hydroplaning.even in the lightest rain the rear end of the vehicle will fish tail at idle speeds.i currently have 25000 miles on the truck and it has been used to tow a total of 2000 of those miles.the tires tread have warn so bad that they are down to 6/32 of a tread life.the other issue with this tire was 3 small rocks went in between the tread and punctured the tire in three locations in the flat part of the tread to cause the tire to have a leak.the tire slow leaked air to 18 psi where the punctures would seal themselves from the vehicle weight.small rocks should not of been able to puncture the tire being an on/off road aggressive tire.this tire also should not have only 6/32 of a tread life after 25000 miles of highway miles over 12 months.i contacted goodyear and took the tires to a goodyear dealer to get checked and when i called goodyear they told me the rock issue is a roadway hazard, but i was charged for the repair.for the hydroplane and tread wear, they told me there was nothing they could do.the dealer i went too, told me in his opinion those tires are not aggressive enough or heavy enough for that model truck, and he does not understand why goodyear is placing them stock on that vehicle.that is the cause for the hydroplaning.i have almost had 2 accidents in the past 2 weeks during light showers due to sliding rear end.the vehicle hydroplanes during any rainy conditions, no matter how light or how severe. This caused him to have to drive his vehicle in 4 wheel drive, during these types of weather conditions. Also the jack of the vehicle does not fit his tires. His vehicle came equipped with 20'' rims and the jack is made for 18''. He called the manufacturer and was told that they do not make jacks for 20'rims.

Customer is frightened that he will loose his life driving his truck due to administrator rosekind's testimony regarding tire safety. The consumer is concerned about what administrator rosekind indicated in his testimony that the recall system is broken. Consumer wants the system fixed for all americans. Nhtsa has a duty and obligation to investigate the deaths due to tire malfunctions. The american people need to be reassured that the recall system is corrected and at this time it is not.

Premature tread wear, constant leaks due to rocks, side wall wear excessive. I was avoiding a deer and turned sharply. The tire came separated from the bead causing the truck to roll over causing 7000.00 dollars damage. These tires are a joke and should not be standard equipment on a 350 horse power 4x4 truck!

Placed goodyear wrangler tire (dot# mk87 fowr 3305) on back of vehicle to act as spare (approx 13000 miles on tire) 2011/placed tire on passenger side front of vehicle early april of 2012. On may 11, began to travel from montgomery, al to fairhope, al. Approx. 100 miles into trip (200 yards south of mile marker 81) incident occurred. There was tread separation from tire while driving on interstate-65. Peeling tread ripped apart/off wheel well liner, fender, running board, etc.resulting debris almost caused a major collision between myself and a commercial 18-wheeler.defective tires tread separation looks very similar to photos of damaged goodyear wrangler silent armor tires, the same tire line that was recalled feb, 2012. This tire is also a goodyear wrangler tire with identical failures as those recalled.

I just recently purchased a 2007 yukon. The tires are goodyear wranglers (p265/70r17). I must constantly inflate my tires on a daily basis after being prompted by the monitor system. The tire pressure goes down to 27 psi and is supposed to be at least 37 psi.i only have 6900 miles on my suv, but neither the car dealership nor the warranty wants to replace the tires. I had a flat on yesterday on my front passenger tire. I was told that the walls were torn because of driving on low pressured tires, but was told from a tire kingdom representative that i received false information from my dealer. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Product quality defect- poor product quality of goodyear wrangler tires recently created unsafe driving conditions for myself, my family and other motorists.due to the radial band separation issue in a goodyear wrangler hp tire (size p275/60/20) the tire created excessive bouncing and wobbling of the tire at speeds over 40 mph creating inability to control my vehicle on the highway.i had the tire replaced immediately (with a bridgestone tire) and the issue was resolved.when i contacted goodyear quality dept. They asked i have the tire inspected by a goodyear dealer, which i did, and the dealer confirmed the radials where /compromised/broken in numerous places. Goodyear did other a $45 rebate on my next goodyear tire purchase which i declined as i will not place my families safety and well being in their trust any longer nor will i be purchasing goodyear tires. The tire had approx 15000 miles on it with ~50-60% tread left.(confirmed by the goodyear dealer.)no explanations or apologizes were offered by gy which displays their disturbing lack of business savvy.i have 3 vehicles in my household and will no longer support such business practices by purchasing unsafe products. I have seen several safety concerns with this tire on internet blogs but thought it best to officially post to nhtsa.i also observed information regarding product safety claims by the steelworkers union (link on your website) regarding the safety/quality of goodyear tires around the same time by vehicle was produced. (not sure if my tire was produced in the same factory) i would like a formal complaint issued to goodyear if feasible and/or at least acknowledgement of receipt.thank you for your time. (goodyear claim number 1089986).

My goodyear wrangler hp tires are defective.they are standard equipment on my 2007 land rover lr3 se.the defect is uneven, premature wear and excess noise.the wear issue with noise began at 10k miles.

Tires are wearing unevenly, all four of them. We noticed this at 20000 miles!! we noticed noise coming from the truck and when the dealership took the truck for road inspection they said is the tires. And of course, they are not responsible, that i have to go with goodyear co. And make a claim. We used the truck to drive to and from work only! we do not take the truck off road or even to our neighbor country (mexico) because of road conditions there.the tires are wearing unevenly and make this terrible noise we have to live with. Who is responsible for this ? we take the truck every 3000 miles for oil change to the dealership, they will recommend tire rotation at 6000 miles or so, we do as they recommend, but now, no one is helping out!how come they did not notice this early wear in our tires?.

Goodyear wrangler hpp275/60r20sidewall splitsi've had to buy 3 tires at different times due to this tire failureall 3 tires have splits in sidewall.very exspensive to replace due to this cause.just wanted to see if there could be a reason for this failure and if it could be investigated.i'm stuck without a spare tire due to exspense..last sidewall split occurred on july 30th, 2009.

The treadwalls on the outside of the tire at the top slits and loss air. This is unrepairable. This is the 2nd of 4 tires with the same issue. The 1st we were standing outside and the truck was parked and we heard a pop and then heard air coming from the tire. This time we were traveling and the instrument panel sensed the loss of air and alerted me and we pulled off the interstate just in time to avoid an unforeseen accident. I had 8 people including myself in the vehicle at this time.

Complaint on a 2010 honda element wrangler stock tires, this is a brand new car.at 11,000 miles the tires started to wear on the outside of the tires, had them rotated and aligned. At 22,000 miles the warning light for the tires came on, both outside & inside of tires were wearing badly. Took them to a discount tire store they told me the tires were not safe to drive on. One of the front tires was splitting. Bought 4 new tires there. The honda dealer says now they cannot compensate me on any tires that i have not bought through their dealership.

On august 31, 2010 while driving north near red bluff, california on interstate 5 (i-5) at 60 mph when we incurred a catastrophic failure of the right rear goodyear wrangler tire on our gmc yukon denali. These tires are oem tires from gmc and have never been off the vehicle for any repairs ' only regular tire rotations. We impacted no road hazards to cause this failure as witnessed by the following:1.i observed no road hazards prior to tire failure.2.grant - les schwab tire center employee was right behind me and observed no road hazards. Grant stopped to assist us with changing the tire.3.the tire bead was separated and sidewall split yet no damage was caused to the wheel rim as noted by redding, ca. Wingfoot employees and grant and don - les schwab tire center employees. The logic being that if a road hazard caused failure of the bead it would have damaged the rim too. I have pictures on file.from what wingfoot and les schwab employees plus internet articles tell me, the failure of this tire was due to a defect in manufacturing. With this and the safety of my family in mind, i replaced all four tires despite still having 50% tread life left on the goodyear tires.the damaged tire was dropped off at wingfoot, llc redding, california for fedex pickup to the goodyear factory for examination.i have received a claim denial letter from goodyear after tire examination stating that over deflection caused the tire failure. Logic does not hold true for this determination. If traveling on a straight highway the tire over deflection would have occurred to the right front tire damaging it as well as the right rear but only the right rear tire suffered a catastrophic failure.

The contact owns a 2011 dodge nitro with goodyear wrangler hp tires, line size: 245 50/r20.the contact stated that while driving 70 mph, both front tires blew.the contact almost lost control of the vehicle and the driver side fender well was damaged as a result.the vehicle was towed to a local tire shop to have the tire replaced.the contact did not call the manufacturer to report the failure.the failure mileage was 3,000.

5 tire failures in 24 months and 26833 miles.2 were "broken tread" failures and 3 were flats.of the flats 2 were in the same tire within 1 week with no obvious nail or other foreign material in the tire.as a result i replaced all 4 tires with another brand and have had no further problems. The first "broken tire occurred at around 7700 miles, the second broken tire at 10700 miles.flats occurred at around 7800 miles and 26800 miles.

As i was driving down interstate 85 in my hometown of thomasville north carolina in my 2011 chevrolet tahoe which had exactly 1,320 miles on it, on 12/13/10 at approximately 1:00 pm, my passenger side front tire blew out.i was traveling at roughly 60-65 mph and the speed limit was 70 mph.i was cruising along, paying attention to the road as i always do being mindful of other drivers and my surroundings when i heard a loud pop or bang which i would consider similar to a rifle or shotgun blast.immediately after hearing this loud noise, i slowed my speed trying to find out what caused the loud noise.about that time my tire pressure monitoring system on the instrument panel came on and began to chime and light up signaling that my right front tire pressure was low.i slowed down even more and began to feel the vehicle pull and drag and felt the front right of the vehicle beginning to drop.i made it safely to the side of the road on an off ramp.i got out to inspect what had happened and what i saw was a tire that was completely deflated and was smoking.i then got back in the vehicle and called onstar and notified them what had happened and they then called for roadside assistance to come and change my tire which they did in a timely fashion.

My 2006 dodge ram has the goodyear wrangler hp 275/60r20 installed. My truck just turned 40k. My tires are always rotated and proper tire inflation.i noticed recently that my truck started vibrating. First it was minor then it finally is too much to bare. I had taken it in twice before thinking it was a balance weight issue and each time the tire stored removed or added a small amount of weight. There was a big difference coming back from a 1400 mile road trip recently. At first there was the usual small vibration, but at the end of this trip the whole truck shaking bad. I took the truck in for the 3rd time and come to find out the rear tire was finally showing signs of separation. I was told that i was very lucky that this tire did not separate during my trip. I plan on contacting goodyear, but from what i have read online they don't seem to care or will blame it on driving style. I have yet to find someone that has received a warranty or pro rated price for new tires. Dodge needs to stop putting these on the trucks or someone will get killed, like my family almost did.

The contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500 with goodyear tires, size:p225 60 r20. The contact was traveling 55 mph when the rear passenger's side tire failed. The goodyear wrangler hp's on my 2005 jeep grand cherokee are wearing terribly!there are only 6400 miles on the suv and the tires are feathering something awful!the vehicle was in for service and tire rotation july 31, 2006.i also asked the dealer to inspect the tread wear on the tires.the dealer stated that it was normal.i have since had the vehicle examined by a service/parts representative at a different local dealership.he stated that in no way was the tire wear normal.he added that the wear on my tires resembles that of a vehicle with nearly 20,000 miles on it.this is unacceptable in my eyes.

My tires on my truck are wearing extremely unevenly even with constant tire rotations. Good year tells me it is an issue with dodge, dodge tells me it is within goodyear. The tires only have 31,258 miles on them and have been showing excessive wear. I only drive the truck to & from work, do not take it off roading which would wear the tires even more. I was instructed by goodyear not to take the truck for long drives in the rain or up to the snow when it starts to snow here. After dodge looked at them they referred me to goodyear saying the only thing they can think of is the truck has alot of its power on the right side, another excuse. I have researched and found that right around the 30,000 mile mark is when alot of other dodge ram owners are experiencing this kind of problem with the tires. This is a huge safety concern for my family as well as other families on the road. If something were to happen who would be at fault ? oh yes the driver, not goodyear or dodge even though this issue has been brought up to them. So the enjoyment of taking my family to play in the snow is compromised because when the tires were inspected by goodyear they feel it is an issue. I asked how many more miles might i have left on the tires and was informed maybe 3,000. Now i have looked online on goodyears website and the lowest mileage for the tires that i have is 50,000 miles for a warranty. So i am losing out on about 20,000 miles worth of tire tread. This is in regards to all 4 of the tires wearing unevenly "cupping."

Over the past week, i noticed that my gmc denali truck was pulling to the left so i had to oversteer to the right.each day, the effect became more pronounced so i had the local gmc dealer check out the truck.the problem was that the cords in the front goodyear wrangler hp tire had separated--it was a blowout waiting to happen.i did not hit anything with my truck to have caused the separation, the tread wear was even on all tires, they were regularly checked for inflation, and most of the tread was left since i have put low mileage on this tires.a number of deaths have been reported due to failure of this type of tire.i had both front tires replaced and over the next few months, i will replace the remaining two tires.i cannot chance a death or injury.please recall these tires.how many people need to die.

Goodyear wrangler hp p275/60-20 tires. Purchased used 2006 dodge ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 with these original equipment tires (32,000 miles). In may 2009 had a tire failure; blowout at low speed following exit from interstate(33,000 mi). Goodyear dealer advised that goodyear would classify the failure as road hazard and would not replace the tire. Purchased 1 new tire of same kind and immediately had balance and unusual wheel hop. Appealed to goodyear who replaced the tire. Replacement tire had similar balance issues. Selected location on vehicle with least impact to drive-ability. During fall 2010 (40000 miles) began to notice left rear vibration as though tire was out-of-round. On feb 10, 2010 discovered left rear had belt separation and large bulge. Steel belts are extruding out of tread. In process of mounting spare noticed apparent belt and tread separation on spare. Four of six tires have had issues. Am replacing all tires. No more goodyear's, ever!

The contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 1500.the vehicle has goodyear wrangler hp tires, size p235/65r17.the vehicle has been handling poorly during all types of weather conditions.while driving 25 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the tires just skidded for approximately two feet and crashed into the preceding vehicle.the road conditions were dry.the contact was injured and the driver in the other vehicle sustained some neck bruising and pain.the contact believes that the tires are to blame for the crash, not the brakes.the failure usually occurs during any type of sudden stop.while driving above 18-20 mph, the tires will begin to skid.the dealer is unwilling to assist and the manufacturer has not been notified.the contact is a mechanic and believes that the tires are defective and should not have been placed on the vehicle.the failure mileage was 25 and current mileage was 4,044.

Failure of tires on 2012 dodge ram 1500 to stop vehicle in stated distance when roadway is wet.notified dealership twice and nothing has been done.these are goodyear tires.

We went on vacation and got a hole in the tread of the front passenger side tire on june 3, 2008.we got it replaced, and blew out the front driver's side tire on june 5, 2008.we got two new tires and put them on the rear and moved the old tires to the front.on june 18, 2008 we got another hole in the driver's side tire. We got rid of the first two tires, but still have the two we moved to the front.

My wife had a flat tire this date and when the tire shop she took it to, pulled the tire from the wheel and noticed bubbles on the wallson the inside of the tire. They told her the tire was defective, but she probably caused the defect by draining it 15 minutes with slightly low tire pressure. Tire pressures are monitored closely and checked at least monthly with very little variations ever detected.

Tire failure.

The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet avalanche 1500. The vehicle was equipped with good year wrangler hp tires, tire size 265/70/17. The dot number was mkt6f00r1707. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to shake excessively, followby a significant amount of tread separation from the front driver's tire. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road. The front driver's tire exhibited uneven tread wear and severe separation. The defective tire was replaced with a spare tire temporarily. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,240.updated 08/03/12*ljthe consumer stated the total mileage on the vehicle at the time of the incident was 131,207. The vehicle's front end was aligned on 9/10/2011. The tired were rotated from rear to front on 03/09/2012.

Tires showing uneven wear on inside treads...loud in cabin, completely premature and strange tire wear at 19,000 miles.very difficult to locate due to the wear being on the inside treads of all 4 tires.
