One evening, i found my parked 2002 honda civic had a flat rear left tire.there was no apparent damage to the tire, and when the tire was replaced, the technician confirmed that the tire suffered a valve stem failure.the next day, as i was driving on the freeway at 65 mph, the rear right tire blew out.again, the tire had a valve stem failure.i bought both these tires (goodyear weatherhandlerls) at the same time.they have now been replaced, but i am concerned about my two front tires, which are the same brand, and which i bought about six months after the two rear tires.
I have had 2 blowouts within a 3 month period of my front drivers' side goodyear weatherhandler fuel max tires.i was fortunate that it was a smooth stop but i'm concerned that i had two in such a short period of time with the tires only being 2 years old.i had my car checked out, front end checked and no problems there.the inside rim of both tires were "dry rotted" per one tire guy and unexplainable on how it would wear like it did.
From cold tires the vehicle traveled approximately 10 miles at varying speeds (30 - 60 mph). At that point the right rear tire blew out with two (2) vertical separations in the side wall from the bead to the tread on the outside of the tire, and the tread separated from the side wall for approximately six (6) inches on the inside of the tire. All three (3) separations were completely through the tire.
A mechanic noticed that the inner sidewalls on both front wheels were splitting (as if along the seams) on the goodyear weatherhandler 215/45r17. The tires were fixed before any blowout occurred, but goodyear refused to take responsibility. Three separate mechanics from different garages had never seen anything like it, and confirmed that it did not occur from daily wear and tear.
The contact owns a 2000 dodge caravan equipped with goodyear weather handler ls tires, size: 205/75r14. The contact stated that another driver informed him that the front passenger tire was flat. The contact examined the tire and noticed that the inner sidewall was punctured. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and new tires were ordered. The contact also stated that the same failure occurred on two separate occasions. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The tire failure mileage was 16,813. The vehicle failure mileage was 109,473.the vin was unavailable.
I was heading north on scenic highway, north of creighton in pensacola fl doing 50 in a 45 mph zone. Suddenly i heard a very loud bang and the right front tire had a blowout. I managed to stop, change the tire and return it to sears. The writeup man said the right side of the goodyear weatherhandlerls tire probably got an air bubble between the inside and outside of the sidewall and that caused the tire to blow outward, from its sidewall. I got credit for the 3 remaining tires and bought 4 michelins.

Tread on goodyear weatherhandler fuel max tires gone after 13,000 miles.tires squealed when going around curve, makings turns.tires were purchased at sears with a 65,000 warranty.
While traveling to work on highway 100 east bound in md. My 2005 chevy equinox started having vibrations in the steering wheel. I was traveling in the number 2 lane on a 3 lane highway when the vehicle then pulled me to the left. I counter steered to the right and the vehicle pulled me into a hard left straight into a guard rail. I could not control the vehicle after it pulled me to the left which resulted in my crash into the guard rail and another car hitting me afterwards. After the accident i exited the vehicle and looked at the tires located on the left side of the vehicle because i thought that this was the problem. Both tires on the driver side were flat and off of the rims. I could understand the front tire being in this condition but the rear tire was not near any impact. That portion of the car didn't receive any damage which makes no sense to me. A couple of months prior to this accident i had sears install 4 brand new goodyear weatherhandler fuelmax tires. I feel as if these tires or the installation almost ended my life and i wanted to report it so that this doesn't happen to someone else.
The tpms valve stem broke while we were adding air to the customer's tire.
