In june 2013 had my right rear tire blowout driving down the road at roughly 40mph on a clear day. Replaced the tire since the sidewall was destroyed.took vehicle to firestone in november 2013 to check bad vibration and 3 remaining tires all had huge sidewall bubbles protruding.had to replace all three tires with only 36,000 miles on them (warranty for 65,000)bought the tires at wal-mart in feb 2012 - goodyear viva authority 235/65/r16 dot m746jn1r4111.
My daughter, a single mother, bought goodyear viva 16x225/60r16 98t from walmart on 10-20-2011.one blew out the side wall and another developed a hole in the sidewall and had buldges all along the outer wall.the other two have poor wear.the tires are a bunch of junk.we need a total recall and destruction of the inferior product before someone gets killed.if they haven't already.
Bought the vivia authority tires back in 2010 made it a out 40,000 miles before the passenger side wall blew out and the other three tires were dry rotting severely. These tires truly need to be recalled.
On june 20 2012 i purchased 4 goodyear viva authority tires 225/70/16.on april24 2014 i noticed i was losing air on my front left tire! i went to walmart# 01698 inhooksett,n.h.,and was told my tire had dry rotted,the outside sidewall looked fine, the inside sidewall however looked like it was about to split in two,the manager said there was no evidence of an impact and the tire was pro-rated.the manager also informed me the other tires,all bought on 6/20/12,showed evidence of dry rot,but since they had not yet failed,there was nothing they could do.
Driving passenger vehicle at approximately 60 mph on a tollroad.normal clear daylight conditions at about 80 degrees. There was a load noise, then smoke and loss of vehicle stability.passenger side rear tire had a blowout.approximately one half of the tire in the side wall area was torn apart.tire was replaced.
