We are owners of a 2008 american tradition 42f motorhome.since purchasing this motorhome there has been significant issues with the front end and the wear of the tires.the front end has been aligned twice in 6800 miles.the front end has been weighed by colton truck repair.the certified weight is 14740.per manufacturer the recommended is gvwr 14600 maximum weight.i have brought this to the attention of american coach and spartan chassis.as of this time, spartan chassis has paid for the weighing of the coach but will not take responsibility for the overweight of the front end or the tire wear.they pass it on to american coach because the american coach structural engineers requested this size of front end to manufacture this motorhome.as of the 2010 american coach, they went to a larger tire and changed the front end for more gvw to correct this problem.but they will not take responsibility for the prior years coaches with the front end that does not support the weight.i have brought this to the attention since purchasing this 2008 motorhome to both american coach and spartan to no avail.

Update to od id 8005766.we have been trying to get our steering problem solved with monaco but they refuse to do anything because we have a lawsuit pending (the lawsuit does not address the steering problem).we recently learned that goodyear has a recall (psb#2002-20)on our tires, which only have 15,000 miles on and are badly worn, but monaco will not authorize the replacement because of our lawsuit.we want to update this complaint so, in the event we are involved in an accident we have on record that monaco has refused to address this steering problem.

On 6/29/2018 traveling south on nys thruway had a blow out caused the vehicle to go off road and had to be towed the tire had 20107 miles on it and it was in good condition tire was a good year unisteel 295/80 22.5 rv this was a large motor home...

3rd update to od id #8005766.the goodyear product service bulletin (psb 2002-20), dated july 10, 2002, was for the 1999-2001 40 ft. Monaco windsor motor home with 275/70r22.5 lr h tires.our 2001 40 ft. Diplomate le has the same tires and weighs approximately the same.the wheelbase on the 40 ft. Windsor is 270 inches, the wheelbase on the diplomat le is 256 inches, which makes it 12 inches shorter than the windsor and with more weight to the rear of the motor home, which cold be one of the causes of the steering problem.i talked with an engineer from goodyear and he said our motor home, with 125 lbs. Of air in the tires and running at freeway speeds in 90+ degree weather, would be comparable to the "firestone ford rollover" problem, with this size tire and air pressure.(he also indicated he would have to deny this should he be asked by any safety agency).goodyear does have a tire which is a size between what we currently have and what they are putting on the windsor (which is too large for our motor home).i talked with an engineer from michelin and he said the michelin 275/80r22x2a2 would be a lot safer tire on the vehicle.that tire is 41 inchesin diameter as compared to our 37 inches in diameter, and would cause the vehicle to steer better.we've met a lot of people at monaco rallys who have had similar problems with steering and tires, but they said monaco told them if they reported any problems to the government, they would no longer try to help them.weight & measurement charts for monaco coaches can be found at http://www.monacocoach.com.monaco only made the diplomat le in 2001 and 2002 and then stopped. We feel this had to do with the poor quality of the product although they deny this.

2nd update to od id 8005766.the goodyear tire replacement, we are told, was not a recall and did not include our coach.however, we feel because the tire sizes being replaced were the same as ours, we should be included.monaco states they did not tell goodyear not to replace the tires, goodyear chose not to put larger tires on. We have also sought to have the monroe shocks replaced and were told by monroe that roadmaster would have to take them off and send them back; however, because of the legal dispute, roadmaster will not do this.the shocks are under warranty.we are still being told to contact a monroe dealer.however, we still feel that because monaco has been aware of this problem with the steering since we've had the motor home, they should be more cooperative when outside agencies try to assist us.we feel the motor home is not safe to drive because of the steering.

Tread separation and blowout of low mileage original equipment goodyear g670 295/80r22.5 steer axle tire with plenty of remaining tread on 45 foot monaco rv resulting in the rv leaving the road on the same side as the blowout occurred resulting in crash causing 2 deaths and one serious leg amputation injury.

Tires failed. Replacement tires do not fail. ( dot number: tire size: 195/70r15c )

We experienced a tread separation blowout on our 2005 car-light 5th wheel trailer with only 15000 miles on the goodyear g614 rst tires.tire pressure was checked to be the specified 110 lbs that morning, and at the outset of every trip.goodyear settled for full replacement price on a new tire plus damages to the trailer of about $2100.

On july 6th, 2018 about 11:30 am, i experienced a front passenger blowout on my 2016 class a motorhome. My rv was equipped with goodyear g670 tires 295/80r22.5 that came on it at purchase. Traveling east on i-10 just before baytown, texas. Driving at 62 mph on a dry sunny day the tire blew. Neither my wife nor i were injured but, the experience will last a life time, the tire showed no signs of outer damage and i only had just over 20k miles on the tires. The blowout cause the rv to steer hard and fast right sending the rv across one lane as i fought to keep it from straight. It left the freeway heading across the ditch to the on coming traffic of the frontage road. In my fight to maintain control, i was able to bring it to a stop down the center of a ditch. Once the rv was recurred, tire remove i took what was left to the goodyear service center in baytown on i-10 to make a claim. Not hearing from them after a period of time, i visited the center and made 2 calls of inquiry. Today is april 1st, 2019 and have heard nothing from the center or goodyear. The blowout damage cost over 60k dollars.

On 6/29/2018 traveling south on nys thruway had a blow out caused the vehicle to go off road and had to be towed the tire had 20107 miles on it and it was in good condition tire was a good year unisteel 295/80 22.5 rv this was a large motor home...

My motor coach is a 2014 entegra coach built on a spartan k2 chassis. Spartan installed new front tires (goodyear g670 295/80/22.5) on my coach on 4/22/2016. My coach was weighed at all tires and the correct tire pressure was obtained from the tire manufacturers chart, which is the pressures that i maintained. Approximately 18,000 miles later on 8/27/2019 we were driving down the highway and the right front tire blew for noreason. We had the tire replaced and continued on our way. About 2 hours later our left front tire blew, again for no reason. Both times we had a tire tech come out and replace the blown tire. They could find no obvious reason for the failures. After the first blow out, i checked the other tires for damage and found none. I also asked the tech to check the other tire. He told me after his inspection and checking pressure, that the 2nd goodyear tire was safe and good to go. There was no debris in the road either time. I have a tire pressure monitor system installed on all my tires. It has alarms for pressure and temperature issues. I had been monitoring the temperatures and pressures of all my tires during the day and did not see anything abnormal. I did not receive any alarms prior to either blow out, so i am confident the tires were properly inflated and did not have suffer any type of air loss. Both times it was a sudden catastrophic internal failure. Both blow outs caused damage to both sides of the front end of the coach. I have since read of numerous other coaches like mine with the same goodyear tires that had failures resulting in damage and even crashes. It is a very dangerous to suffer a steer tire blow out at highway speed. I believe the cause of mine were poor quality tires that were not designed well enough to handle the size and weights of my motor coach. Even though my weight was within the specifications of goodyear and the tires were routinely maintained, they still suffered asudden catastrophic internal failure for no reason.

While driving 60-65 mph withdriver and seven passegers in a 2002, fleetwood pace arrow, original equipment, tire size 245/70r19.5, dot# m193nbaw3400. Left rear inner dueller tire had a blowout. Manufacturer was notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

Tire side wall blew out on interstate 95. Day was clear and sunny no road, hazards. Had tire replaced returned tire to goodyear they denied the claim claiming it as an impact break. No impact to inside dual had been driving for five hours on the instate when the tire blew and it was day two of a three day trip all on interstate roads.

On 7-6-10 at 5:09 pm on 1-26 in mathews s. Carolina a tread and belt separation and blowout of the left front goodyear g670 rv tire dot #danu2caw3503 caused a 45 foot long 2004 monaco rv to leave the travel lanes enter the median, ram through the cable barrier, cross the median into oncoming traffic and run over a 2006 nissan ultima traveling in the opposite direction killing the driver. Two occupants in the rv sustained minor injuries. Tire had only 41,000 miles of use at blowout.

While driving at 65 mph consumer heard a bumping sound from the front of the motor home. Consumer then pulled off the road to inspect the noise, and found that the front driver side tire treadseparated. The front passenger side tire started to show the same signs of failure.

I limped to the next exit after the highway patrols suggestion to a hess gas station and called good sam's road service. All went well from there.

We left austin and headed to dallas at 1pm.we were towing a 2005 doubletree mobile suites 36tk3 5th wheel trailer.after driving approximately 1 hour, we had a blowout on the off door (left), front rv tire.just as we stopped, the tread peeled away from the tire casing.the tires on the rv were goodyear unisteel g614 rst tires and are lt235/85r16.we replaced the blown out tire with hi-run bctjb43 lt235/85r16g tires.the goodyear tires are: sidewall - 1 ply steel cord; tread - 4 ply steel cord.as for damage, it sheared the sewer drain pipe, tore off the gasoline/electric cable holster, and split the corner of the fiberglass wheel opening trim.nothing major, but we will still require some repairs.we drove 9 miles up i-35 and our second blowout on the goodyear unisteel g614 rst tires.this time, it was the door side (right) and (again) on the front axle.we replaced 3 more tires to replace all of the goodyear g614 tires.we weren't about to wait for the 3rd or 4th blowout!damage on this side was more severe and required immediate attention.the upper shock mount was broken from the frame (only spot welded).i lashed it to the suspension, so i could move the unit without puncturing the tire.it also tore the fiberglass wheel opening trim, and put a small crease in the aluminum skirt panel, adjacent to the side door.the dot indicators on the tire were e01l dot mjor 610w 3104 and fool dot mjor 610w 3104 - manufactured the 31st week of 2004.i retained the blown tires.here is some additional information about our unit:2005 36tk3(purchased 04/05)unit number 169116,500 gross/15,840 scales (12,800 on the axles 3,040 on the pin)aluminum wheels (tredit tire replacements for steel).outside temp 102 degrees.speed 60 mph.tire pressure 110lbs(also measured at 122 lbs when hot) approximate rv mileage 10,000 miles.i have contacted goodyear and have started a claims process.

The right front (goodyear unisteel 275/70/r22.5) tire experienced a blowout, the tire tread came through the floor and into the motorhome causing extensive damage, consumer is concerned that the floor is not strong enough to withstand a tire blowout. *mjs

While driving 65 mph the drivers side rear outside dual tire blew out.when the consumer exited the vehicle he also noticed that the drivers side inside tire was flat.the consumer went to check the pressure of the outside tire and it was alright.when the consumer attempted to check the pressure of the inside passenger tire the extender valve fell off in the consumers hand and the air escaped from the tire.it appeared that the extender valve had sheared off.the consumer went back to the flat tire and noticed that the extender valve on that tire had also sheared off thus causing the tire to go flat.the tire tech informed the consumer that the extender valves were not installed properly and that they were supposed to be braced.the consumer believes the weight of the truck caused the outside dual tire to blow out when the inside tire went flat (inside good year tire size 265-70r 19.5unisteelg124).* cb *nlm
