Seems to be a common problem with infiniti m35x (just all wheel drives) with tramlining.car dangerously jerks as tires track into hwy grooves and pavement grooves.the problem generally goes away if the goodyear rsa tires are replaced with certain other brand tires. Infiniti ignores all requests to repair or address the problem. In some cases, like mine, the steering rack was replaced but that only solved part of the problem. I have read about many others with similar complaints.this occurs each time the car is driven.

I have a 2004 nissan maxima se that i bought 2 years ago with 14000 miles on it. Currently have 24000 miles so i don't drive a lot. In those 2 years, i've had struts, brakes, rotors,a/c problems, tons of anti-lock brake issues(was in shop 4 times) and at 19000 miles, a tire blowout and again another one at 24000 miles.i submitted my paperwork for cracked sidewalls on my goodyear rsa tires on july1,2007 and have not heard anything yet. This car has been the car from you know where. It just has problem after problem--i get one thing fixed and something else seems to come up.

2008 m35 base front end alignment.when driving on uneven roads the front end of the car jumps, rattles and slips.it happens constantly and consistently on uneven or freeways with the grooves (california) at 55 plus miles per hour.the steering is so harsh that the car has to slow down or move to more even road.the road does not have to be that uneven for the problem to occur.new tires and front end alignment only partially fix the problem.but the issue is still evident.on rainy days the problem is worse.

Ever since the first day i purchased my 2004 nissan maxima, i noticed something rather odd. At 50 mph, even less at most times, there is a terrible shimmy which can cause a serious accident. When i step on the brakes at or above 50 mph, the wheel shakes ferociously out of control, and this can cause a serious serious accident, especially in rain or snow, and even on dry land. 2009 toyota corolla s. Special ordered and purchased in 2008. We returned the vehicle to the dealership quickly after purchase complaining about the straight-line driveablity of the car. The problem was more noticeable on the interstate. The car has to be constantly corrected left and right just to be kept straight on a straight stretch of road. My wife and i both are scared of this car. I just feel like i'm going to lose control of this car at a high rate of speed. It's worse when there's a cross wind on the interstate. It happens everytime we drive this car. We work on opposite shifts at the same place, in the next county. So she drives it back and forth the first half of the day and i do the same the second half of the day. It's almost all on the interstate. It's very stressful getting this car down the road. So, the dealership said they compared it to another corolla on their lot and they drove the same. They fixed nothing. Gave no explanation as to why it would drive like it did. So we feel helpless and we have no other choice but to keep driving it and paying for it. My wife drives our kids in this corolla and it worries me everytime that she's going to crash it. I just don't know what to do about this since the dealership says that nothing is wrong with it. It's currently got a little over 21k miles on it and it still drives like it did when we bought it.

Daimlerchrysler has arbitrarily reduced the rated towing capacity to 2000 lbs, although all the product literature for these vehicles states 6400 lbs towing capacity.they have not given a reason and refuse to warranty claims for failures due to towing more than 2000 lbs.( dot number: tire size: 265/55hr17 )

Front good year tires separating from the belt.car is in perfect alignment checked by dealer.hundreds maybe thousands have been reporting the same problem, all at around 20k miles.dealer failing to warranty them claiming that its normal on these trucks due to the suspension??? not my problem!do not plan on spending $460 dollars per tire every 20k miles.

We bought a new 2003 pontiac grand prix in april 2003 with goodyear rsa's that came on it. In september of 2004 noticed front end noise and rough ride. Took it to dealership to get it checked out. They rotated and balanced tires, checked everything out and still noise was there. I was advised to get the tires checked out, that may be the problem. Went to sears and right off the bat they found that one of the tires had a factory defect. Knowing that buying just one tire would not be the right thing to do (others with only 1/2 tread), had to buy 4 new tires. Sears did give me some credit for the defective tire, (but not enough to cover price the new one) but because of the defective one had to purchase 4 new tires and needless to say did not purchase goodyear. Sears did say that tires.

Mazda 3spp205/50 all season good year eagle rsa tiresvery poor tire traction on wet & snow conditionstire treads seem to wear out quickly.

The contact owns a 2006 jeep grand cherokee. While driving at unknown speeds, the inner tread of the tire separated. The failure occurred twice. The dealer where the tires were purchased notified the manufacturer but they offered no assistance. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 75,000.

Goodyear and pontiac have had issues with tires that were installed on the grand am gt since 1999.there is a problem with the rain grove that cuases the tires to slowly become defective by causing a rubbing situation.no recall issued and will only replace two front tires since the issue starts there. Will only replace other two defective tires if they get rotated and this happens under warranty.

I own a mazda 3,purchased 7/08, car has 20k miles, the goodyear tires rsa 205-50r-17 need to be replaced due to a defect in a part to correct a rear camber issue, the defect caused the tires to wear unevenly and have very low tread life. The dealership and zone office will replace the defective part but i am having difficultly having them pay for replacement tires. The tires have been effected by the defective part therefore the warranty should cover the full cost of replacement tires. I am waiting for the defective part to arrive at the dealer, the part is on back order. Please investigate the rear camber part issue since good tires leads to safety.

Richard gunn wrote to goodyear;i have a 2002 vw jetta that came stock with goodyear eagle rsa tires,225/45r17 91h.at 13,000 miles one of the tires went flat but did not appear to have any nails or holes in it when i removed it, although thesidewall was split.i took the tire into the clem tire company 7907 highway 72, madison, al 35758 , 256-837-9151. One tire was put on order as these tires are an unusual size for this car.the following day a second tire went flat.again there was no nail or explainable cause.a second tire was ordered.when the tires came in i went down to have them installed.i asked the shop to look at the front two tires to see that they were ok as i had now become suspicious of these tires.the shop found the front two tires were split out on the inside sidewalls as well.the shop contacted goodyear who was good enough to replace all four tires free and asked to send the tires back for evaluation.the tires that are being returned are the same as what was just put on my car and frankly i am not all that warm and fuzzy that they are safe to drive on.i would like to see the failure analysis report on the returned tires, complete with conclusion as to the failure mechanism.also i would like to know what the corrective action is to verify that this tire or lothas been isolated so that others might not be injured due to defects in this tire. I suppose i was fortunate that i was not traveling at high speed when my tires failed but others might not be as fortunate.additionally i think that volkswagen should be informed so that they can make the call on whether to notify their customers of this potential issue.i have a copy of the receipt that has all of the detailson it if you would like me to fax it to you a can do so.

Front tires threw inside tread. 21,000 miles on tires. Goodyear denies liability. All cars of this make(jeep grande cherokee srt8)are experiencing this problem with oem tires.

2004 jeep libery limited 4wd,vin 1j8-gl58kx4w-255517,tires: goodyear eagle r-sa p235/70r16,mileage: approx. 1,000 (approx 1 month old).rear end of car skids dangerously in low-speed turns, on normally wet (not puddled) roads, when in 2wd. This has happened several times in the last 3 weeks, always in slow-speed suburban driving. (thank god.)skid happens when you make either a right or left hand turn, and then apply gas during the middle of the turn (as you do to maintain speed in a low-speed turn) at which time, the rear wheels lose traction and skid to the outside of the turn.i understand the goodyear eagle r-sa tires are poor in the wet traction dept, but this must be a specially-bad batch, because this skid occurs so readily.dealer service manager (georgetown jeep, georgetown, ct) admits that wet weather traction is a problem for the liberty and he says "we advise using 4 wd when the roads are wet."well this floored me!no one told us that when the car was delivered.and the owners manual does not say this.chrysler/jeep says they will not do anything more.they will not have the tires tested, for example.

On july 8, 2014 (10 days after the tires were purchased and only the 4th time i had driven on the new tires) i was driving my son to physical therapy (about 15 miles away) on the interstate in baton rouge, the car was feeling a lil shaky but i thought it was the road conditions knowing i had just purchased new tires. When we were returning home my tire light came on and i stopped to look at the tires. I got out looked for a flat did not see any low tires and then returned to driving home. When i entered the interstate my car began to shake again and i stayed at a 50 mph speed just hoping to make it home, after about 5 miles the tire blew out and started slapping the side of my car, i was losing control of the car with my 10 year old as a passenger. I was able to make it to the shoulder of the interstate safely but very scared and confused. As i examined the damage i could not understand what happened to the tire, it was unrolled from the rim, it was peeled in a strip. I was now stranded on the interstatewith my child in over 100 degree temperature. We returned the tire to sams club where we purchased it, they ordered me a new tire and told us to call goodyear about the damaged tire, the service center said they had never seen a tire peel off the rim like that one. We filed a claim just as good year advised us to do and shipped the damaged tire. At this point i am driving on a spare tire and have damage to my car that was in perfect condition. I had to take a day off work to get 2 quotes for the damage and i received a letter in the mail stating that the tire was not defective. The goodyear customer service agent was rude and the most unhelpful person i have ever spoken with! i am a hard working middle class american woman and this is the most unjust thing i have ever encountered. I am mentally afraid to drive my car for a long distance and now i have to continue to drive a damaged car. Goodyear is the worst company i have ever had dealings with. Please help!

Separation of tread from the wheel...cracks in the sidewall.

I purchased a new infiniti 2007 m35x december of 2006 the car came equipped with good yearrsa tires 245-45-18 after 15,000 the tires are totally worn to the wear bars front and rear these tires have been rotate at 6,500 miles and 13,000 miles. The car is unsafe to drive on the highway it follows the groves in the road, also in rain it is horrible and unsafe. Tire presser is at 33 lbs on all tires and all tires are evenly worn.

Issue concerns tsb 02-03-10-003. The vehicle is 2002 pontiac grand am gt with aluminum alloy wheels and 16 inch eagle rsa tires.the vehicle has 41,000 miles and is not under warranty.prior to oct. 3 2003 - a scrunching and grinding noise in the front part of the vehicle that sounds like a wheel bearing or brake assembly went bad.decided that the problem was bad enough to take to local dealership.the dealership determined that cause was combination of the stock aluminum wheel and the stock goodyear rsa tire described in tsb 02-03-10-003 and that they were unable to repair the problem without replacing the tires.the decision was if i wanted the problem fixed, i have to pay for 4 new tires.i brought 3 issues to the attention of the dealer: 1. This is a safety issue because any other mechanical failures of a similar sound will not be heard over the current sound and therefore be left unchecked until a time when the part could fail catastrophically. 2. It is a safety issue for the reason that under pressure or heat deviating from the norm as a result of the tire and rim rubbing in such a way to cause the sound. 3. It would be very difficult to resell a vehicle that was unsafe.for these three reasons i requested that the dealership pay for the repairs.they said that they did not have the power to make that decision and that i should contact the manufacturer.oct. 3 2003 i contacted pontiac customer assistance and spoke to merrill hammond concerning the problem.she said that pontiacs position is that the car is operating within normal and acceptable parameters and did not have to pay for the repair since it was not a safety recall.told that if i had brought the car in under warranty, new tires would have been put on the car by the manufacturer.she suggested i contact the nhtsa if i was unhappy with the safety issues concerning tsb. I feel the car is unsafe and that a recall should be issued for the tire combination stated in the tsb.*la

I've got a 2004 nissan maxima. I have aprox 21,000 miles on it. My goodyear rsa tires (oem) have started to split on the side wall. My tires still have over 60% of the tread left. Goodyear is prorating the tires at 25% of tire wear used. My concern is that i know for a fact that my maxima is not the only carthat has had trouble with these tires. It would be horrible, if someone with the same problem didn't know about it and had an accident because the side of their tire blew out.forums.maxima.org has many people that have reported this same problem.

Sidewall of tire cracked and split from the rim.

I have had to replace 3 of 4my valve stems because the threading around were you put the cap on twisted off while i was putting air in my tire. While removing the cap the stem had snapped right at the thread. The first time this happened was 180 miles away from my residence. Another time i was three states away. Having this happen while not near you home is very frustrating and was very frustrating. On the second time i was foolish enough to have a tire person talk me out of not getting it replaced, three days later out of state it snapped on me. What a freaking headache. I still the broken piece in my car after the guy fixed it for me. What a mess.

My goodyear rsa tire flew apart while traveling 70 mph on the interstate.the tire was properly inflated.the sidewall caved in.the tire didn't have any visual defects prior to the blowout.truly concerned with the other tires, simply vanishing from beneath the car without warning.i would have caused an accident if the traffic on the interstate was congested.

Sidewall of tire cracked and split from the rim.

Separation of tread from the wheel...cracks in the sidewall.

I have a 2004 nissan maxima se. While the car was at the dealer for routine service, the technician told me that the inside sidewalls of all 4 tires were showing cracks, and the front passenger tire had cracks and a bulge coming out.this was when the car had only about 26,000 miles.he said the cost to replace the tires is $245 each tire, plus installation costs.he strongly recommended that i replace at least the two front tires as soon as possible.i then took the maxima to a different nissan dealer for their opinion as well.that dealership agreed that all 4 tires had cracks on the inside sidewalls, and the bulge was there on the right front tire.they recommended that i replace all 4 tires.i told them it seems absurd that tires that are so new would need replacement, and they said it was a common problem with these tires and i should go to goodyear to see if they would cover all or part of the replacement cost.i called nissan headquarters (1-800-nissan-1) and was told the same thing, it is not nissan's responsibility, but goodyears'.going to goodyear this afternoon to have them checked -- and if safety risk exists i will of course have to buy new tires.i have a wife and a 21-month old baby, and cannot risk a blowout or some other catastrophe that may cause injury to my family.no tires should fail like this so quickly.general rule is if some object or thing goes into a tire, that is just a risk that the owner must bear.but if the tires show problems coming from the inside out, that indicates a tire defect.i willupdate this after meeting with goodyear.

The4 rsa goodyear tires cracked with 14,000 miles on it. Goodyear has produced bad tires and someone will get killed soon when these tires blow on the highway.

Two out of four tires had bulges coming out of the sidewalls after less than 14,000 miles.took them to goodyear and they blamed it on me.they said the plys delaminated because i was running into too many potholes (which i wasn't).i've never had a tire do this before.i think the rsa's are an accident waiting to happen and a serious investigation needs to be initiated on these tires, especially the low-profile version.my tire size is p215/50vr17 , and came stock on my 2003 mitsubishi eclipse gts.

Goodyear has a known defect on their goodyear eagle rs-a tires (245/45r18) that were installed on the2004 nissan maxima (and who knows how many other vehicles). The tire sidewall was not properly made and depending on miles (i have seen the problem on maxima's with mileage ranging from 4,000 miles up to 30,000). Goodyear states you should continuely inspect them and if cracking occurs, then they will replace them. I am very cocerned for my families safety when driving now, especially long distance, i may be able to inspect the outside sidewalls, however not the inner. If i can't see the problem i cannot get it corrected. The cracking and composition of the sidewalls could lead to a bowout or rollover if in a turn when the pressure against the tire sidewall is greatest. A nissan maxima is a performance family sedan so sometimes driven hard. My next concern is having to hear about this problem from word of mouth through other maxima car owners. No safety letter from goodyear telling owners to inspect tires regularly, nothing.they are playing the numbers with my family and my life and this is unacceptable. Please force their hand to do something. Thank you. Also you can read an internet thread from other customers with this problem at, over 5 pages: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=388048.

Goodyear eagle rs-a tire failed due to cracks on the interior sidewall leading to a blowout and near separation of the tire from the wheel.

The contact owns a 2004 nissan maxima se.the contact stated that the inner and outer sidewalls of the original tires were cracking on all four tires.after replacing the tires, the contact received a safety recall notice.the contact no longer has the tires, receipts, dot number, or proof of having owned the tires.the tires were goodyear rsa.the purchase date and recall number were unknown.the current mileage was 79,000 and failure mileage was 69,049.

At a recent oil servicethe tires on my car were found to have deep cracks in the sidewalls. The tread on the tires appears to be good for 10k more miles. However i had to have them changed as they amy fail due to rupture of the sidewalls.

I own a 2004 maxima and have goodyear rsa245/45/18 tires. I have had a blow out while driving on long island expressway. Checked my tires this weekend found side wall crackson both front tires and severe sidewall failure on inside of rear tires.i have replaced two tires during the first year due side wall cuts was told it was road hazard. How could a car with just 40k have had 3 out of four tires replaced and now i need to replace all four again. These tires need to be recalled before there is a death.

The contact owns a 2004 nissan maxima.the vehicle has goodyear rsa, size 245/45/r18 tires.while driving 15 mph, the driver side front tire blew out.the vehicle was towed to the repair shop and they stated that all four tires had cracks on the sidewalls.after 34,000 miles, the tires began to crack again.the vin, engine size, and dot number were unknown.the failure mileage was 58,000 and current mileage was 92,000.

The goodyear rsa tires on my 2004 nissan maxima have splits on the side wall.goodyear claims to have no knowledge of any problems with this tire size, 245/45/18.numerous maxima owners have had tires replaced for this problem but goodyear is uncooperative.( maxima.org) i have called goodyear and they have given me the run around.if they have knowledge of a tire problem they need to issue a recall before there is a fatality.i checked with nissan and they have no knowledge of a tire problem.your assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2003 volkswagen jetta gls 1.8t sport equipped with goodyear rsa tires, size 245/45 r17 h91.the tires had only 16,000 miles on them.at highway speed the drivers side tire blew out.further inspection of the tire showed that it failed at the side wall.there was a tear in the sidewall almost thru 40 percent of the tire.i managed to make it over 3 lanes of traffic and narrowly overted a collission.futhermore goodyear declined to honor my warranty claim.i think that goodyear rsa model tires should be investigated.these are supposed to be high performance tires and one failed at the sidewall with only 16,000 miles on it and at only 60 miles per hour.

Leased a 2005 pt cruiser convertible, dream cruiser series 4 in november of 2004.first failure of the tires was the passenger side rear tire in august 2006.i was parked somewhere waiting for someone and when they walked back to my car they noticed that i had a bulge in the tire due to a crack in the sidewall.had to get the very expensive tire (goodyear - 205/50/17 rs-a) replaced, with only approximately 13,000 miles on the car.next failure was in october of the same year.driving at 35 mph at the end of a line of three cars when all three hit the same pothole.the first two cars didn't have a problem, my passenger side front tire completely blew out the sidewall and i had to have an emergency replacement, this time with just under 15,000 miles on the car.both tire dealerships seemed to casually acknowledge the fact that they had seen several problems with these particular tires on this particular model of car.dealership didn't know how to handle the problem except to give me a number for chrysler.chrysler doesn't deal with tires and they directed me to goodyear.goodyear said it was due to road hazards and they were not responsible for any of the costs and completely denied having heard of any other problems with this type of tire.

I own a 2004 nissan maxima. Last week while viewing a maxima forum, i noticed a lot of people complaining about their oem goodyear rsa developing sidewall cracks. After inspecting my vehicel, i noticed two 2' cracks on the sidewall. I drove the vehicle to sears tire center for further inspection. I was told to bring the car straight home and to park it until the tires were replaced. They found major cracks in three of the tires. These tires only have 20,000 miles on them and i have no idea how long the cracks were there.

Inner tire and outer tire wall separation.

Bulge on front tire of 2003 mitsubishi eclipse gts.tire is a goodyear rsa p215/50 r17. Less than 10,000 miles on tire when bulge appeared.both mitsubishi and goodyear blamed defect on me and offered no compensation.also have two bent original rims on car.the rims and tires on the eclipse have a poor history and safety rating.

Front tires threw inside tread. 21,000 miles on tires. Goodyear denies liability. All cars of this make(jeep grande cherokee srt8)are experiencing this problem with oem tires.

All four tires experienced tread separation.the consumer is concerned that may cause a severe blowout while driving. *nlm service manager noted he has seen other failures like these and there may be a trend. *ph

I own a 2005 audi a4 with goodyear rs-a 235/45/17 tires. The tires have been used for under 23,000 miles and were the original tires on the car. At under 23,000 miles, the front tires are completely worn and the rear tires are a few hundred miles from reaching the tread line. Brought them to goodyear dealer who says this is common and would not offer warranty. Common for tires to wear out at 23,000 miles?

I have had to replace 3 of 4my valve stems because the threading around were you put the cap on twisted off while i was putting air in my tire. While removing the cap the stem had snapped right at the thread. The first time this happened was 180 miles away from my residence. Another time i was three states away. Having this happen while not near you home is very frustrating and was very frustrating. On the second time i was foolish enough to have a tire person talk me out of not getting it replaced, three days later out of state it snapped on me. What a freaking headache. I still the broken piece in my car after the guy fixed it for me. What a mess.

On two separate occasions while travelling at low speeds a wheel bent and my tire deflated while driving my 2000 eclipse gt. On both occasions i lost control of the vehicle; it eventually skidded to a halt both times. (tiresize: 250/50/17)( dot number:tire size: 250/50/17 )

Both left rims bent, no tire damage. Small pothole at 10th&west peachtree in atlanta on far side of intersdection. Pulling slowly away from red light. Impact did not feel severe. Bending is minor. No air leakage. Slight vibration from loss of balance. No change in alignment.
