I have had problems with my 2004 nissan maxima since purchasing it brand new. Within 60 days of purchasing the car, i had to take it back to the dealership due to a malfunction with the brakes.i have spent over $1,500 since keeping the brakes and rotors repaired.i am on my fourth set of tires and have had three alignments and my front end inspected.i have had to replace an engine mount. In 2006 my air conditioner went out and i spentover $500 having that repaired. Now i am in need of a new transmission because there is internal damage due to the clutch slipping even though it is an automatic car.i have two friends with the same model/year car and they have experienced similar or the same problems.once of my friends just replaced his transmissionin his 2004 maxima.this car has cost me at least $5,000 in repairs since i have purchased it and i have never ever received a recall notice on anything.i know that nissan is well aware of the defects in the 2004 maxima, but are not owning up to their responsibility in taking care of all of the problems that i have read about and talked about with different 2004 maxima owners. I have also had the battery replaced twice.the body style of the car is beautiful, but the car itself is a piece of crap due to poor mechanics.

The car starting having problems at 7000 miles. Front end jumping. I had a tire go bad and replaced it. Had the tire rotated and the front end lined up. Then, the noise and the car still did not feel right. I took it back to ford and the rim is bent. Replaced that. So far i am out 250.00 for the tire and 298.00 for the rim/. The problem continued, but by 15000 miles the car was jumping, front end problems. Had the tires rotated and the car lined up again.i have the problems still. ( i was told(way i drive, curves, the way i takethe corners, ) well, # one i am 43 yrs old and this is not my first car. I have had mustangs before and never rotated the tires or changed my driving habits. ( what ever).at 15000 the brakes started to squeak all the time (wet, cold, moisture, dry). Per the manual this will happened. I was told that it is common with focus. I had a escort for over 4 yrs and they never did what this car has. With the front and back the recall 02s42/01b85 was done finally in march. This recall stated pinch bolt that retains the steering knuckle to the lower ball joint on your vehicle may not have the proper torque. ****** ( this condition exists, your vehicle may experience vibration or noise... This could eventually lead to ball joint separation with aloss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash,) this is what i was told ford dealership was wrong with the car since august. I feel that the recall came to late and now my tires are destroyed. One tire is worst than the others. Remember that one tire is brand new ( 7000 less miles).... The brake pedal is still making a noise when i release it at the park mode or stop turn around stop at light or whenever. They have adjusted it 3-4 times. And with in mins. Of them adjusting it, it is back to the same thing. This is a on going problem, wasted time and troubles. I do not want everybody to notice when i have my daughter in the car or i get hurt in an accident. This is important your reply help debra.w.

Biggest problem is the transmission on the2004 maxima. It started with jerking, and speed changes while driving. Rotators, air conditioning, tires, struts, and trembling in wheel. Transmission is an ongoing problem.also, thestruts were replaced, trembling is still there, air conditioning low and hose replaced.but now it rumbles when turned on. Tires almost cost me life on expressway due to crack in sidewalls.

2003 pt cruiser gt 2.4l 96k milesstarted to notice tire tread problems at 40k. Thought it was a bad alignment from ntb and they did another alignment for now charge. 10k later and i am having tires replaced again! also hear alignment problems and knocking coming from the front end. Took it in and service tech recommended alignment and front driver side bearing be replaced. He add the bushings on the driver side control arm was going bad but not necessary for immediate replacement. I had the front bearing replaced andalignment done.front drivers side bearing went bad again but on both sides in the front at 88k. Now i am being toldfrom the chrylser dealer that hub and bearing in the front on both sides need to be replaced. 600 bucks. Just spent 500 on new tires and i still hear knocking on control arm.long story short....the lower control arms will need to be replace on both sides (front), followed by hub and bearing on both sides (front), followed by an alignment of the vehicle. Doing research online, there are hundreds of specific complaints dealing with the control arm bushings and/or bearings going bad at 15,000 miles and up on the 03 gt pt cruiser 2.4l. Chrysler does nothing for the consumer in every case hence the complaints to forums and nhtsa.gov. To say the least, this should be addressed daimler chrysler and fixed by their expense.

Purchased 4/02 and by 7/02 with approx. 6,000k experienced hard downshifting when stopping as well as between gears.dealer service "removed burrs from driveshaft".returned for service 8/02 with same problem.again "removed burrs from driveshaft".on 3rd visit in 9/02 i was told they couldn't repair anything and that" the vehicle had a programmable transmission and it's memory was likely responding to a previous similar driving session"...hence the gear slamming!returned 4th time 2 weeks later and this time was told there were no recalls on the complaint and the dealer would file a complaint on my behalf to daimler/chrysler and i'd be contacted when they heard something.i have not heard from anyone even after sending my own complaint letter to d/c in 11/02.have also experienced many incidents of rear tires slipping and fishtailing in various road/weather conditions as well as constant right pull and have to fight steering wheel to drive straight.

Several ongoing events versus one failure, constant pulling either to the left or to the right, pulling into oncoming traffic/other lanes when braking or accelerating, not able to keep the vibe on the smooth/rough roads.when cornering in dry conditions on a smooth road, the vibe pulled me right over on the shoulder and the steering wheel spun so i stopped uncertain what had taken place.i was able to get into dealer and 4 alignments, 4+ tire rotations, camber bolts replaced, and a 3rd opinion from a separate gm dealer unaware of the situation stating my tires were faulty and to return to the selling dealer with the vested interest in the car, and the end result is....my car is still in the same situation.the car is still pulling left, right, veering when i brake or accelerate in either direction.the tires have not been replaced even though the gm dealer that provided that opinion replaced the tires on 2 other vibe owners having the exact same issues but i did not buy my car there.i have read several reports over the past week or so about ongoing vibe complaints regarding unusual wear on tires regardless of the brand and the possibility of suspension and shock design issues (not holding the tires properly to the road).all of this has taken place within 12,000km and would have been less had i not had personal family matters to deal with.luckily there has been no tire blowouts yet nor accidents yet but all i am told is that the tracking is pretty good for that of a vibe..i would never have bought one had i been given that sales pitch and known i would be in for an alignment and tire rotation every 1,000km.reading the info on the genvibe site and on this site back to 2003, maybe there should be a more thorough investigation into the type of shocks and suspension system or something if the tires, no matter what brand, are being burned through that quickly and the steering is that brutal.please investigate.

'05 ford focus zxw. Vehicle less than 2 weeks old. In shop 4th time for vibration in front end and pulling to right. Dealer replaced 1 front tire, balanced all 4, changed camber angle and re-aligned steering wheel. Car still vibrates at 65 and now pulls to left. Back to dealer again for 5th time. Appears to originate from right front. Will press for strut and suspension inspection.

I hear a popping/grinding noise in the front end of my 2003 dodge durango. I have taken it to the shop under warranty 3 times. Twice they have replaced parts but it has not fixed the problem. The tires are wearing out on the outside of the tire. The ball joints appear to be going bad.

My wife was traveling north on 476 from i-95 south before exit 3 without warning the right rear tire blew out which cause her to loose control and the car swerved and made minor contact with a curb or something. The tire came completely apart except for the inner and outer set bead which stayed on the rim.

Abnormal tire wear

Incident description = goodyear tire had an interior wall "tear" that cause sudden deflation suggesting a defect in the manufacturer of this tire.....the tire was purchased from the tire rack september 2007 (less than one year ago) and had less than 10,000 miles of normal suburban driven...the "technician upon review of the images of the tire stated "nothing to worry about".

Goodyeareagle tires sll cracked on inner sidewalls and could not be used, had tires replaced.all of the tires were cracked on the inner sidewalls. *sc

I am experiencing severe vibrations in the steering of my 2004 nissan maxima.in march of 2004 after several trips for rotations and balancing, all four tires were cracked on the enter wall of the tires.nissian suggested that i go to goodyear dealer and have the tires replaced.goodyear replaced the tires and five months later, all four tires have cracked again.we questioned nissian to see if there was a problem with the vehicle that was causing the tires to crack.nissian advise any problem concering the tires should be taken up with goodyear and said it was nothing they could do.at this time, august 17, 2004 i still have all four cracked tires on my vehicle and it is vibrating even more.goodyear advised that the only set of tires made for this vehicle is goodyear eagle rs-ap245/45r18.goodyear advised us that they do not have this tire in stock and it will be about a week or so before they can get it.i was informed that they have replaced several tires for this year make and model car.

Tires on my aztek squeek. I brought to dealership. Dealer stated that this was a common problem on prior year grandams. There are no service bulletins on this problem. To further explain problem....tire beads rub on rim causing a squeeking noise. This is associated with the tire brand....goodyear eagle rs-a. I am "fighting" with the pontiac dealer and pontiac customer service. They may replace the front tires only...if pontiac approves. I was told by service at the car dealership that this will temporarily correct the problem until tires are rotated. Then the problem will occur again with the other set of tires.

Front drivers side aluminuim alloy rim cracked

On my 2002 focus se my passanger front tire had a bubble- my car only has 17,000 miles on it.when i called the dealership i found it wasn't under warranty. The tires are seperate and had to be prorated for wear.the cost of the same tire plus the cost of the labor was almost a hundred dollars.i can't believe i am fixing someting i didn't cause.ford won.i bought a new tire but from a different company.

The contact owns a 2006 jeep grand cherokee.the vehicle has goodyear eagle tires, size 255/45/r20.every 20,000 miles, the sidewall on the tires fail.the contact must pay $400 to replace each tire.the dealer advised him to call the manufacturer of the tires.he was also informed that consumer reports mentioned failures with his brand of tires.the manufacturer stated that because they have not received a high frequency of complaints, they would not assume any responsibility for the repairs.the contact has replaced two identical sets of this brand.he still has possession of the tires.the failure mileage was 20,000 and current mileage was 50,000.

Expensive run flat goodyear tire on corvette failed when a nail pierced it.told it could not be repaired.had to replace with two new tires , goodyear eagle, each over $300.was told there were no warrantyon the new tires because they were run flats , and that i could not substitute another type of tire because of the tire pressure monitoring system.how safe are these tires if the manufacturer refused to give warranty.now i am told that i could nothave just any garage change the tires if i receive another flat because special equipment has to be used to protect the air pressure monitoring system.

Tires are losing air, or i am getting flats due to the fact that rims are defective, they are bent out of shape very easily.

Consumer had a 1999, dodge, dakota. Tires were originals with only 50% of tread left on them. Goodyear to consumer they were sport performance tires that didn't fit on a pick up truck. Tires had 13000 miles on them.

I received a letter in the mail from goodyear tire & rubber company called a "customer satisfaction program".it concerns the eagle rsa emt (run flat) tires that were installed on my 2006 jeep.i called the consumer relations number listed on the letter and they directed me to a local dealer.the dealer told me the tires can separate inside and basically come apart!the dealer has to take them off the rims and inspect the inside of the tire and then determine if it's good or bad.if it's bad they will replace that tire, but only if they "think" it's bad?what happens if they think it isn't bad and it comes apart later on?either this is a recall or it isn't?if it is then all the tires should be replaced!

Dt*:the contact stated that there were tears on the inside wall of all 4 tires.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who determined that the vehicle was unsafe to drive with the tires in that condition, however the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the problem.

My wife's x type 2002 jaguar was riding very rough and i asked our local mechanic to balance the tires. He called in shock advising that the interior wall of a rear goodyear american eagle tire was cracked all around the rim of the tire and we were lucky to be alive. From the outer wall and the tread the tire appeared perfect. I have the tire and digital photographs which i will forward when provided an e-mail address.

Dt:goodyear tires eagle gps , size 195/60/r14experienced a large crack in the sidewall completely around left front tire rim.the consumer took the vehicle to a goodyear dealer, and they urged the consumerto taketire to sears because these tires came on a used vehicle, these were not part of the original equipment.the consumer went to sears, whoreplaced the left front tire free of charge because there were only 1,000 miles and hardly any wear on them.the other tires were also cracked.the service man at sears asked the consumerto return the next day andhe would replace the other tires.but when consumer returned the next day a different person was working and said these were not sear's tires but samataea's club tires.the consumer was referred to samataea's club to replace all tires and return the previously replaced tire to sears.samataea'sclub would not honor the tire warranty because the consumer was not a member, and that was part of their policy.the consumer contacted goodyear, and they said it was up to samataea'sclub as to how thosetires should be replaced.the tires have hardly any wear but continue to crack.currently on the sidewall the steel and treadis shows through . No one will replace these tires at this time.the consumer does plan to replace these tires, but feels he should not be responsible for therepair cost.

Goodyear eagle ls tires on my 2006 pt cruiser, i have had 3 sidewall blowouts, the 1st one blew out with less than 400 miles on the vehicle, the second blowout came with less than 15,000 miles and also was in the sidewall, the 3rd blowout came this past saturday, november 3rd while on the freeway and doing 65mph, all three were sidewall blowouts. The tire size on all 3 were 165/65/r15within this complaint filing doesn't give me the option to add the other 2 blowouts, but, i have let you know in this paragraph that i have had 3 blowouts of the same oem tires.

245-45-18 goodyear eagle rs-a tire on 2005 maxima came apart.

I bought my 2003 eclipse gt in march of 2004.at approximately 30,000 miles two bulges suddenlyappeared on left side front and rear tires (one bulge on each).when the car was taken to the goodyear retailer i was told it was the result of running over pot holes.however, the position of the bulges doesn't suggest so.the tires are goodyear rsas which came stock on the car.the tire size is p215/vr17.

2004 nissan maxima se 3.5 liter v6 with a manufacturer's standard tire size of p245/45r18.currently goodyear is having a manufacturer's defect on the tires listed above.the side walls on these tires are splitting and they are doing a recall on them...i guess they are going to reactive rather than proactive...just like firestone.i just wanted to let you know before someone was seriously injured or killed.the reason i am writing is because i have those same tires installed and they are splitting around the side wall and the only reason i know about this is the dealer stated that goodyear knows about the problem but is reluctant to initiate a recall...worried about dollars rather than saving lives.i am not talking about a small split but rather a split that covers almost 3/4 of the radius.thanks for your time and assistance.i really thought you and the general public needed to know before something really bad happened.

Dt*:the contact stated when inspecting the tires it was discovered the driver's side rear and front passenger tire sidewalls were cracked.the tires are still maintaining air pressure; however the cracks are more severe.the dealer and manufacturer have not been alerted.

2006 chevrolet impala with sidewall failure on the tires. Consumer states that the tires are high preformance tires. He was told that the these tires are prone to this type of failure.

Dt: the consumer stated that the tires had cracks on the sidewalls. The tires were about a year and a half old. The tires came on the vehicle when the car was bought. A goodyear dealer checked the tires and the consumer would replace all 4 tires. The tires were goodyear eagles rsa. Consumernoticed the cracks yesterday. The factory representative was will check the tires.

While drivingbetween 35-40 mph consumer heard a clicking and bumping noise. She pulled to the side, got out, and nothing appeared to be wrong.she wentback into the vehicle and drove onthe highway andsame noise started, but just a little louderthen, consumer pulled off into a driveway, got out and noticed that the rubber separated from tire sidewall.goodyear, eagle ms, p1855/60r15.

I bought my 2007 honda civic lx 4-door sedan on may 6, 2007. I drive about 120 highway miles each day and in november 2007, i had to replace the tires because of excessive wear on the passenger-side rear tire. I took the vehicle to the dealership but they said the car was "in-spec" and that i should have rotated the tires sooner. I document every drop of fuel that i put in my car. I write down when i change the oil, when i get it washed and where. Nothing does undocumented, including the information about when i rotated the tires. That was not good enough for the dealership and they insisted that i get the vehicle aligned and buy new tires from them. I refused and took my vehicle somewhere else to have the work done. I am very unsatisfied with twin city honda in nederland texas and with honda for not addressing that they have a problem with the suspension on the 2007 honda civic.

I hear a popping/grinding noise in the front end of my 2003 dodge durango. I have taken it to the shop under warranty 3 times. Twice they have replaced parts but it has not fixed the problem. The tires are wearing out on the outside of the tire. The ball joints appear to be going bad.

Consumer replaced the tires with the same brand, and the tires wore down to the wire.vehicle was aligned at 6000 miles.
