2006 nissan maxima with 19000 miles was traveling 70 mph on interstate highway when the left rear tire tread separated completely from the rest of the tire. The tire failure caused the driver to lose control and spin into concrete divider at center of interstate.

2006 chevy impala ss has had several mechanical issues most recently flat tires.the first incident was a front right tire loosing air slowly.today the front left tire went flat suddenly and on the interstate.the damaged section of tire was on the inside and appeared to have been punctured by another piece of the suspension.the dealer ship insists that i need to pay for repairs everytime.the car is an unbelievable inconvenience.

My ac compressor froze at 45000 miles while driving on the highway. I was told by the dealership that this is not a common occurrence. That was obviously a lie. Cost for repairs- $1600.

Following a rear end collision, my 2006 mazda3 mileage dropped from ~24mpg to ~8mpg, with no torque at all from ~20mph. Significant steering trouble, awful tire noise, and loud knocking when turning were dismissed by the local dealer as "well within specs". Requested brake caliper and alignment check, refused by the same dealer; tech performed a road test, declared the problem due to tire feathering and demonstrated 120mph tight curve as remedy.three sets of tires, one set of wheels [3 of oem were warped], entire complement of motor mounts, two sets of rotors later, i'm about to replace caliper mounts and axles.car is unsafe, and dealership disregard of warranty and tsbs, and of basic safety standards was outrageous, especially given (ongoing) [spine injury from collision was nearly fatal] circumstances.

Did a throttle body cleaning on a nissan murano and the check engine light came on. The dealer said it was a money maker and many shop that clean the throttle body have to come to them for the re-learning of the idle air control valve. This is crazy ,i have done this on my porsche and my fords and chevy and have never had this happen. Nissan should have a warning sticker on the throttle body to see manual -the manual should state do not clean or you will need to go to dealer to re-learn the idle air control system.

Rattling noise comes from fuel tank when it is full when car comes to a complete stop, or sudden move. Noise continue for 1-2 seconds after the car stop.

I own a 2004 nissan maxima and my transmission is jerking in 1 and 2nd gear(drive) and i have went to have the transmission fluid checked and replaced and the problem still exists.there are numerous amount of complaints about the 2004 nissan maxima's transmission... Please research and do a recall before someone ends up on 20/20... With a sad story... Please help!!!!

2005 nissan maxima se problem shifting.delay in engagement from p to d (about 1-2 seconds), followed by a strong jerk or bang.once in gear, very high revs and engagement from 2nd to 3rd gear, along with 3rd to 4th.same can be said on deceleration.4th to 3rd, and all the way down...a definite traffic safety hazard.just some of the other items i have had to foot the bill for on this 6-year old vehicle:- 3 a/c compressors- both high and low a/c compressor lines- 4 new tires due to cracking and bubbling on the factory tires (at less than 30k miles!)- front rotors due to warping and excessive steering wheel shaking when braking- lumbar support pump (driver's side) is broken- turn signal indicators out of alignment (defective glue to hold them in place?)- 3 batteries in under 5 years- power window motors are dying (not as quick as they used to be)overall, i have come to hate this car and the nissan brand.i will never buy a nissan (or infiniti) again.

Since delivery on 11/30/09 the car oversteers, most noticeable on highway while driving straight and on exit turns. Very tiring to continuously micro-adjust sensitive steering to keep car straight. Requires only 1/8 to 1/4-inch steering wheel turn to 'wander' into adjacent lane! on turns, results in 'angular' pattern instead of smooth curve. Problem is most noticeable when cruise control is used. Dangerous. A glance at the radio and you're in another lane. On straight highway stretch, problem results in a "snaking" driving pattern instead of straight line. Dealer dismissed issue as "normal, sport-style steering, takes getting used to". Car now has 3,600 miles on it. Seems like temperature may play a role: on very cold days, may take 15 minutes of highway driving to become very apparent. Only 1 time at dealer so far and reported to honda america (national) with their response: "we rely on dealers as our eyes and ears, take back to dealer". Decided to avoid that for now. I would like to know if others have complained. Additional detail:the automobile doesn't 'track' the road well, most noticeably on the highway, where it is unusually difficult to keep driving the car in a straight line and to drive along curves in a uniform manner. The steering requires almost continuous 'micro-correction.' on the highway, at 50 to 60 mph, the car begins to drift to either side. Turning the steering wheel a tiny amount - say, 1/8 toof an inch - causes the car to drift in the direction of the turn more than expected and to the extent that a rapid 're-correction' (tiny turn of the wheel in the opposite direction) is required to prevent it from entering the adjacent lane. And this, of course, leads to a 're-re recorrection', and a 're-re-re-correction', etc. On the off-ramp, at reduced speed, trying to drive along the smooth curve requires micro-correction, however the resulting driving pattern is a series of near-straight lines and sharp angles. Thank you for your help.*tw

We purchased our 2007 impala ss on 11/17/09 with 33,003 miles on it. On july 20, 2011 while driving home from work with my wife and stepson on the i-94 freeway in clinton township, mi., the leftside rear tire blewout. We notice that it had broke the inner plastic piece and bent the muffler tip and there was clearly no rubber left on the inside of the tire all you saw was wires. Had to put our spare tire on. Took the car into the tire shop on july 22, 2011 to have that tire replaced, service guy said there was no rubber left on the inside of the left tire in the rear, and the wires were clearly visible and showed us them, which we had noticed when this occurred. He also stated that on the rear rightside the wires were showing too. We had him replace all 4 tires on the vehicle. He also stated that we had been the 4th impala they had replaced tires on in the past week. While on the lift we noticed that the back tires were slightly leaning out, like (/) left side and (\) right side, i told him that i want the tires back and he gave them to me. We took them home and took picks of them and the back of our car to show how the tires were still leaning out, and also took pictures of where the plastic had been broke in the wheel well. This has happened in less than 20,000 mile since we purchased the vehicle. I went to the dealership that we purchased the vehicle from and told the service guy what had happened, he stated that there was no recall as of yet on this problem but that other people had came in with the same complaints, that i should get ahold of gm and see what they say. He told me that he was aware of the police vehicle that had been recalled but as of yet knew nothing about all others. He stated that he wished he could do something for us but there was nothing he could do. When is gm gonna do something about this?

I own a 2005 nissan maxima:in january ,2009 my son was driving back from lubbock texas to portales nm.this is 110 miles.my tire a goodyear rs-a 245/45 r18 tire went flat my son got out of the car and changed it in pitch dark. Not taking the time to look at the tire in depth. He drove home to find in the later part of his trip he did not have any breaks.he was driving at highway speeds.the inside of the tire's beading came completely out.it looked like it had 45 wires hanging out of the tire.these wires were in and out of the tire and i could literally pick it up by the wires.the wires (beading) wrapped around my break lines and cut them completely in half, in addition pulling the steal mount for the break line all the way through the cars mount.this could have killed my son, passengers, as well as oncoming traffic.this same situation happened to me three weeks prior.this time the tire came apart from the inside where you can't see it, but the beading did not come out.when my son's situation happened, it took (my tire, $266.00), (wheel $800.00) (break lines $???.00) damage to the internal mount and vessel $ ???.00 of my car'.all out!this tire is dangerous and needs to be completely taken off the market.there are so many incidences with this particular tire and it is extremely deadly!i am pleading with nhtsa to stop production of this tire and have a full recall on it.one person's life is not worth this dangerous tire!

2010 infiniti m35x. Consumer writes regarding defective tires *tgwthe consumer stated he discovered a leak in the sidewall on one of the front tires. The defect consisted of a break about 3/4 of an inch long. The tire would not hold air and could not be repaired. There was no nail or other object in the tire. The consumer then went to the dealer to complain about the defective tires. The dealer then informed the consumer the rear tires had low tread life and they needed to be replaced.the consumer also suspected the reartires were defective as well.

As i wa driving on i-495, i heard a noise from the right rear. Within a few seconds, the tire went flat and i was able to pull over to the shoulder. On removing the tire, i found that the inner sidewall had completely separated fro the tread and crack was almost perfectly circular and about midway up the sidewall. This was definitely not caused by any foreign object intrusion as these tires are almost new (replaced under recall last year).

Bought a 2009 nissan maxima on 4/21/2011, it had 25206 miles on it, i currently have 37000 miles on it. I have had to add air to my tires at least once a week,on christmas day i came out to a flat tire, removed wheel and noticed the inside wall had several "spider web" cracks on it, one was bad enough to leak air. I would like to now if anyone else has reported this problem?

The contact owns a 2004 nissan maxima xe.the vehicle has goodyear eagle rs-a tires, size p245/45/r18.the contact observed that the inner and outer sidewalls of the tires exhibited excessive cracking on the two front and rear driver's side tires.the vehicle rode poorly on normal road conditions.through research, the contact stated that there was a special tire replacement program for these tires.the vehicle was taken to the tire manufacturer for inspection; however, the tires were excluded from the program because it exceeded the expiration date.the contact was displeased to know that there was no priornotification of the "special tire replacement program" to take advantage of the remedy.the tires have not been replaced. The contact filed a safety complaint on the other three tires on the vehicle (odi number 10259643).the dot number and vin were unavailable.the failure mileage was 15,913 and current mileage was 34,800.

Premature tread separation on my front good year run flat tires.

I purchased a new car with goodyear eagle rsa tires on it.the tire tread has separated causing the car to be disabled with my teen driver driving it.the goodyear dealership is telling me now that the tires have no warranty on them.why would a dealership sell tires with no warranty? why would goodyear not put a warranty on some brand new tires?i called the authorized tire dealership and he tells me i should have been happy that they lasted longer than 30,000 miles.this is a sham.this is unfair to the consumer.

Noise, thumping, steering vibration caused by goodyear eagle rs a tires on 2004 lexus. After reading about other complaints, etc. Concerned about safety of tires.

Within a month after buying our 2010 gmc acadia the front right tire was continually going flat. We were constantly refilling the air on a weekly basis. Took the car into the dealership to have it looked st and the couldn't find anything wrong with it on more than one occasion. We used fix a flat and continued to refill air and it has gone longer periods without going flat although tire is constantly low. Took the car in to dealership july 2012 to have oil changed and serviced with tire rotation etc. When i was driving home with 3 of my kids in the car, going 65-70 on the freeway the car started shaking. It wasn't the steering wheel but the whole car itself. It felt like one of the tires was going to fall off or the engine was going to fall out of the car. I checked the tire pressure and the psi to that tire was the same as what it was before i dropped it off for service, so the dealership didn't fill the tires but i knew i didn't have a flat tire either. I took the car straight back to the dealership on my way to work in the morning. They told me that the tread was separating from the tire and i needed a new tire. I think it should be covered under warranty as this had been an ongoing problem since we bought the car and have complained to the dealership multiple times. Just because they couldn't fond the problem before doesn't mean there wasn't a problem before.

We bought two new cars and these tires were standard equipmenton both of them.we had two blowouts in less than two months.both set of tires covered 3500/2117 miles respectively.tires valves were checked one set of tires is losing pressure constantly.my next step is to file complaint with nhtsa to trigger a investigation.my advice is if you had issues with these tires is to file a complaint with nhtsa to prevent any body from getting injured.

Less than a year ago we purchased our 2005 cadillac cts from cadillac of turnersville, nj. I just recently noticed a shimmy while driving and decided to inspect the tires and found that both front tires have a large bubble in the outer sidewall. The tires are goodyear / eagle rs-a p225/55r16 94h. I looked online and noticed a large recall on goodyear / eagle rs-a tires with sidewall failure noted and would like to now report the issue with ours and see what we need to do to have the tires recalled and replaced as soon as possible, as i am not able to safely drive the car until we replace them. We have a newborn son and get very nervous at the thought of what could have happened if i hadn't paid the close attention to the mild shimmy as soon as i did. Please help. Thank you, your assistance in this matter is much appreciated.

2007 infiniti m35 (preowned certified) at 30,000 miles, with stock tires, driving approximately 70 mph on the highway, i started experiencing rumbling in the car.when i started to slow down, it became overwhelming.i pulled over to the side of the road, and my tire had been ripped to shreds (rear - right).the tire appeared as if someone had cut around my rim and left a tubular piece of rubber.currently i am seeking my insurance company for advice and repairs.

2nd tire defective - goodyear eagle rsa tire- car has only 7639 miles on it and this is the second tire on the car that had to be replace with the same issue .

Rattling noise comes from fuel tank when it is full when car comes to a complete stop, or sudden move. Noise continue for 1-2 seconds after the car stop.

Purchased new 2007 pontiac solstice and suddenly had a flat without any movement for 6 weeks with vehicle. When having auto dealer inspect the faulty tire the dealer saw sidewall damage that reflected serious flaw/defect on several of the goodyear eagle p245/r4518 tires. Was told to take to a goodyear dealer and the dealer said that goodyear akron, ohio refused to exchange tires. But would accept proration on tires that goodyear dealer conformed to be defected tires. Goodyear dealer said that goodyear had same size and model tires as a recall on a different auto recently.

While driving at freeway speed in a 6 month old vehicle with 5500 miles, a loud clunking noise came from rt front wheel area.abs light illuminated.slowed down to pull over and noise stopped shortly thereafter.moments later tire pressure monitor lit up.pulled over and saw tire deflated.changed tire.damaged tire did not have any visible damage or punctures.air remained in tire but was reduced.taken to dealer for inspections and they stated that the cords inside the tire were "shredded/torn".contacting goodyear tire now for inspection and resolution but i am contending it is a defect with the tire itself and structural integrity of it.possibly a dangerous situation to myself and other drivers around me.unknown if other damage to vehicle until a new tire is put on tomorrow.

Purchased four goodyear tires 11/06.while driving 55-60 mph, valve stem on left rear tire failed (4/16/09) causing tire to come apart (tread separated from sidewall).after spare tire installed by aaa, proceeded to store where originally purchased.goodyear service center stated valve stem had failed; i purchased new tire at pro-rated cost.service center also replaced valve stems on the other tires because they looked bad.in response to a question from another customer about valve stems from china, the clerk mentioned those valve stems had been removed from the center's inventory. Old parts not available.

One another victim of oe tires of inferior quality + alignment issues of lexus rx 400h. I am filing a formal complaint against lexus company.recently, i drove the suv (@ 125 miles away from where i live) to my dealer to get the recall of 'power steering link assembly' fixed. The dealer phoned to tell me that all 4 tires must be replaced because of badly worn inside tread and steel belt is visible ' unsafe to drive. I was shocked! what? at 23,782 miles? just like every other car i owned before, i expected to replace them at 50-60k miles. The dealer said that the oe goodyear eagle rs-a 235/55vr18 tires usually last about 20k miles. He also said because it's a hybrid car!! shocked again! i would not have bought that car if i had known this. The only thing mentioned on the window sticker was '235/55vr18 all-season tires.' i scanned the internet and learned that many out there share the same question and confusion. I was never informed by anyone of the fact that the earlier 400hs had alignment issues and the oe tires on these expensive 400h suvs would need to be replaced roughly every 20k. Lexus should have recalled all the earlier 400hs to address the issue. On the average, a car with average quality tires would need replacement roughly every 50k-60k, which should be the norm. Lexus cars are supposed to be luxurious as well as reliable, why would the tires be abnormally worn just on the inside edge at just 20k miles?i believe,i have been misinformed by lexus and should not have to pay for lexus responsibility of putting these goodyear eagle rs-a tires on such luxurious cars and make the consumers pay for the inferior quality. Since i was told by the dealer that the tire performance was due to the suv is a 'hybrid' car, then it is a design issue that would have required lexus to install a different set of tire.

I have a 2007 jeep grand cherokee srt8 and the front two tires have blown out with only 12k miles on them twice. Once at 12k and again at 24k. There was a recall issued in 2006 for 2006 srt8 models but nothing for the 2007 model year. These tire have been determined unsafe in 2006, but the same tires and problems are happening in 2007. I had 2 wheel alignments done and both were ok. It is a tire issue that keeps costing me money and the risk to me and my family everytime i drive the truck. The tire is a goodyear eagle rs-a 255-45-r20 runflat tire.

Prior to having the tires replaced, there were numerous occasions where the car felt like it was on the verge of slipping/skidding or losing grip of the road.it would have been too late if there were injuries or deaths due to the unsafe quality of this product.on nov. 30, i took my 400h to the dealer for the 10k service. It was the same dealership where it gets serviced every 5000 miles. The dealer phoned to tell me that all 4 tires must be replaced because of badly worn inside tread. I was shocked! what? at 19,562 miles? just like every other car i owned before, i expected to replace them at 40k-60k miles. The dealer said that the oe goodyear eagle rs-a 235/55vr18 tires usually last about 20k miles. Shocked again! i would not have bought that car if i had known this. The only thing mentioned on the window sticker was '235/55vr18 all-season tires.'we scanned the internet and learned that many out there share the same question and confusion. We were never informed by lexus that earlier 400hs had alignment issues. We were never informed that the oe tires on these expensive 400h suvs would need to be replaced roughly every 20k. On the average, a car with average quality tires would need replacement roughly every 40k-60k, which should be the norm.we believe that we have been misinformed by lexus and should not have to pay for lexus responsibility of putting these goodyear eagle rs-a tires on such luxurious cars and make the consumers pay for the inferior quality or even potential hazard. Some of us would have opted for a different car or even a totally different make if it means paying about $1000 for every 20k we drive just on tire replacement. We are also extremely disappointed by lexus' inaction knowing such widely-discussed problem. Lexus cars are supposed to be luxurious as well as reliable. Another question is, why would the tires be abnormally worn just on the inside edge?

I have a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse purchased new with goodyear eagle rsa p235/45r18 tires. The car has 23,000 miles and i just experienced my second blowout on the sidewall of a tire. On both occasions, the vehicle was being driven on suburban streetswhen the problem occurred.

The contact owns a 2002 jeep liberty sport equipped with goodyear eagle rs-a tires.while drivingapproximately 77 mph the contact could see debris flying from the rear passenger side wheel well. The vehicle was driven onto the emergency lane and the entire rear passenger side fender was missing as well as various other pieces of the wheel well. After driving approximately 50 mph for another mile more debris was coming from the same wheel well. When the contact drove onto the emergency lane a second time, he observed that the rear quarter panel was torn. Upon examining the vehicle the contact noticed that the rear passenger side tire was completely shredded of all its rubber. The tire was examined by an independent mechanic who stated that the failure tread separation.the failure and current mileages were 42,000.

2007 mazda cx-7 with 15,000 miles & goodyear eagle rsa p235/60r18 tires.after 11 months of driving and 15,000 miles only 4/32 remain on tires.all tires have even wear.mazda says to contact goodyear & goodyear says to contact mazda.just getting the run around for inadequate tires!

I own a both 2006 and a 2007 jeep grand cherokee srt-on the 2007 model, the front left tire failed from tread separation during early october (tires were not very worn) - i had all four tires replaced.unfortunately, the front left tire on my 2006 jeep failed yesterday (11/30/2008) with approximately 29,000 miles on the odometer.in this most recent failure, about 2 inches of tread on the inner side separated and came completely off the tire.i have thus had identical tire failures on two separate vehicles equipped with the same oem (goodyear) tires.in both cases, apparent tread wear was not high.

I purchased a new mazda 3 in may of 2006. I live near cleveland ohio where we can have some bad winter weather. In december, we had one of the first snow storms. My car had 6,200 miles. The roads were what i would consider to have a light snow covering. The tires that are sold oem on this car are rated as all season, so i should not have any problems. I was traveling about 20 mph, and slide sideways for about 50' then hit another vehicle coming the opposite direction, then went off the road into a 5' deep ditch. My car had about $1,400 in damage, which the insurance paid for (state farm). I am a mature driver living in this type of weather for many years. I have never driven a vehicle that handled so badly in the snow. This vehicle with the tire combination as sold is unsafe. After the accident, i have searched the internet and found numerous reviews claiming how poor the tires are in winter weather. I have filed a complaint with mazda, but was told that they would do nothing. The case number is 110849660. There is no way that this vehicle should be sold this these oem tires in the area that i live. The dealer recommended that i change the tires. I feel that mazda should replace them for me because i bought a car that has all season tires that cannot be driven in the snow. As noted, this vehicle is not safe with the oem tires.

The vehicle failure mileage was 160,000 and the tire failure mileage was 15,000.

The tire was determined to be defective

The contact owns 2010 nissan maxima equipped with goodyear eagle rs-a tires, size p245/45/r18.the contact stated that the rear passenger tire thread from the interior seperated while driving 65 mph. I have a 2004 nissan maxima with four goodyear eagle rsa tires. Two of which had sidewall cracking and had to be replaced. I put in a request to goodyear regarding this safety hazard and was denied reimbursement/replacement. I now have a third tire that has gone flat due to sidewall cracking. Goodyear is failing to recognize this defect or its danger. I simply am asking for replacement as these tires are far from worn.

I bought a 2008 jeep srt8 at the end of december 2009 in florida with approx. 18900 miles on it and got a full certified warranty with it.i drove it to minnesota where i live and do not drive it much at all.i have put around 4900 miles on it since then and at best buy putting in new headlights they told me my front tires tread was separating.i already had a appointment scheduled the next day to have the dealership fix the leak in my roof for the second time.the inside tread on both of my front tires was really bad and the dealership said i should not drive it till it gets new tires.i was at a dealership about a month before (fixing leak) and they didn't mention it at all.if the dealership didn't notice it how would i? best buy noticed it and they don't even fix jeep srt8s, what would have happened if it blew on the highway?i am not a heavy foot driver, it drives perfectly and i have never hit anything with the car.looking online it seems this is a huge problem with everyone who has a srt8 suv.i have also had my ac unit replaced, and taillight rewired, airbag control module, esp bas light in dash fixed.when bringing it to the dealer to get it fixed, it seems like its the first one they have ever seen, and just assume that its my driving that causes this.i have only seen 2 other jeep srt8 in real life and most shop people i talk to have never seen one driving let alone worked on one and knows the problems with it.the dealership blames the alignment caused it since the ball bearings were fine to them.the rear tires are fine on the vehicle just the inside of the front and cant find anyone that can explain why they are doing this.i paid 586 dollars to get 2 of the same factory tires with alignment. I do not feel like i should have to pay for new tires and the alignment for it.i think goodyear and jeep no there is a serious problem with the tires and they are still making us pay for it when its there fault.

2010 buick lacrosse cxsthe other evening as i was driving home with my wife a little before sunset at about 30 mph i heard a thump and assumed i had hit something. Neither my wife or i had seen anything in the street. I continued to drive home (3 blocks) and the car drove normally - no change.when i got home i examined the front of the car (drivers side) and saw nothing unusual but noticed the back right tire was flat. I got out the jack and changed to the spare. Upon looking at the tire i found no apparent damage to the tire other than it was obvious i was driving with the tire flat.upon closer examination of the wheel itself i found a gash in the wheel about 6" long and elevated up into the tire area over an inch. Of course all of the air escaped through the gash - no blowout. Went to the dealer (3800 miles on the cxs) and they determined i had hit something in the street - no warranty coverage. Cost for new wheel and tire - $1002.00went back to examine the road (no potholes) and finally found a rock off the side of the road that apparently caused the problem. It was a rock, flat on both sides about 2 1/2" thick and about the size of a red brick only oblong. Have no idea how it hit the back tire and not the front.i am convinced that had the tire been an older 15" or 16" tire the tire would of absorbed the hit and not damaged the wheel. Of course it may have blown a tire but the wheel would of been in good shape.with the roads becoming so bumpy with potholes i now worry about hitting a bad spot in the road and having the same thing happen again. I carry a $1000 deductible insurance so insurance will not be involved. (in 50 years of driving i have not had an accident that was my fault or any other damage to one of my cars - so i carry a high deductible).just a word of warning to those who have the 19" tires (and probably the 18") that a bump in the road may do more damage to the fancy aluminum wheel that the tire.

Complete tire blow out of front passenger side. Car was traveling @60 miles per hour.2nd car with goodyear eagles on nissan maxima.recalled tires on 2004.2008 has same issue.wait for recall again?or wait until someone is killed? the car had 10,000 miles.

Goodyear eagle tires , tire had 27,000 miles on them all four tires was cracked around the inside bead at the rim , goodyear says they don't warranty oem equipment but the dealer says its there responsibility, i had to replace all four tires out of pocket.

The contact owns a 2006 chevrolet cobalt. The vehicle had four goodyear eagle rs-a tires with a line size of p205/55r/16 tires. The contact stated that one of the tires blew out while traveling at approximate speeds of 30 mph. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000 and the current mileage was approximately 65,756.

In november 2013 after driving in rainy conditions left rear eagle rsa failed as i was driving on the highway. No known cause of failure other then it just blew out all of the sudden. Tire was replaced about a week later with another eagle rsa. Last night (january 2014) was driving in snowy conditions and then got on the highway and all of the sudden again the tire blows but this time the opposite side of car but still the rear wheel. During this blow the car swerved momentarily but i was able to control the car and then i heard the noise indicating it had blown. In neither case was there an indication anything was wrong with the tire before it blew including the tread depth. Both tires had been on the car less than a year (car was bought nov/ dec 2012 and new tires were on the car when bought) and had little wear on the tread depth when they had blown.

Brand new goodyear rs-a, 205-55-16 have no traction at all in wet conditions my car (acura cl 1999) is all over the road i almost hit a guardrail due to lack of traction. These tires have horrible reviews now that i checked on www.tirerackcom and other tire sites for these reasons; no traction.if i knew that i would never had let them be installed on my car.the point is that goodyear is selling dangerous and faulty tires and should be held accountable for the lack of quality.the safety issue is the main concern here; if you are driving and it rains and the car has zero traction its a major issue.something has to be done to recall these tires and refund our money and also to take them off the road before someone is hurt or killed while driving.

Goodyear tire tread separation on 2008 jeep grand cherokee srt8: both front tires (gy eagle rs-a 255 45r20- run flats) have delaminated leaving me to limp home when the left front tire suddenly went to zero air pressure and that's when i first noticed the problem. This is obviously a very common problem in this tire (see forum thread: http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24831&highlight=good+year+tread+separation)i saved the tires and have pictures. I also have alignment specs showing it was within guidelines. I have since replaced the tires at my expense with another brand.

Original equipment eagle-rsa 205/50vr17 tires on my mazda 3- 5door are showing exaggerated wear on all four tires.even if i do the treadwear calculation, i should have reached 18,720 miles before needing replacement.at 17,miles, the tires are down to the wear indicators.even before that, i have almost been in two accidents due to the extremely poor wet and snow traction of the "all season" tires.unless it is dry and above 60 degrees, these tires have little to no traction.attempting to pull out of my street on two rainy days has resulted in unnecessary wheelspin and near loss of control. This was before 10,000 miles on the tires. I have been driving for 18 years and have only experienced wheelspin in the rain with my 1970 mercury with 300hp.at a minimum, goodyear should be hit with a false advertising suit for advertising the eagle-rsa as an "all season" tire.i agree with another complainant that goodyear might be intentionally not giving warranty's for the tires against wear because they know the product will not last that long.this is not the first set of goodyears that have not made it to their life expectancy.i had asked the dealer to switch tires with another vehicle, but all of the mazda3- 5doors on the lot had the same awful tires.i will never buy another set of goodyears or a vehicle that has them as original equipment tires.

After replacing three out of four tires on 5/29/07 for cracking around the entire outside of the sidewalls i received a letter dated june 15,2007 stating there was a problem with the tires.obviously i had already paid $593.80 out of pocket.because dobbs was not notified by good year until june (according to good years assistance center) they did not put the reason for replacement on my receipt.i promptly returned to the dobbs location and spoke with them and they filled out the claim form provided by good year to verify my three tires were replaced for that reason.i then sent my paid receipt along with claim for to good year.now, almost three months later good year is refusing to refund me their consumer for a problem they know exists.their reasoning, the dobbs employee did not write on the claim form (a claim for designed by good year) why the tires were replaced.common sense would tell a consumer and the employee at dobbs if they are fillling out a claim form, for a problem good year admits they are having with their tires ,that is why the tires were replaced. I am a very frustrated consumer that had my tires replaced due to a safety issue and now am getting the run around from good year who is fully aware they have a problem.i guess in their minds i should have continued driving the vehicle with the tires cracked for an additional two weeks until i got their letter and dobbs would have never charged me the consumer.nevermind the safety of the consumer and their passengers.the nhtsa is obviously designed as a organization to keep people safe in the event of equipment failure such as this tire issue.unfortunately, it is apparent to me the good year will go to extreme measures in order to not take responsibility for the poor product they made available to the consumer.as they clearly, state in their letter it is just a "cosmetic" issue, they are taking no responsibilty and once again the consumer is paying the price.

Noticed new tire - approx 3400 miles had a bubble in the side wall.

Took 2010 impala ltz to have oil changed and tires rotated.they found the front tires to be worn badly on the inside of each tire.the driver's side had much worse wear with the steel cords visible.we bought the car from a dealership with over 10,000 miles on it.it now has 19,000.in an online search, we found that the car had work done on the steering before we purchased it.it still has a problem with a growling sound in the steering at times.could that effect tire wear?

Premature tire wear of new tires on new vehicle.

The car rpm drop down below 500, last year it led to service engine light and spend around a grand, but never fix, until today the dealer claim that this happened to nissan maxim 04, and last year i start having steering shaking, the dealer told if i change my rims and tires it will fix it, and in aug-2008 i have 4 new rim and good years tires, but the problem exit, i went in jan to the dealer, and they told if they tightened some thing it will fix, but no i still have until today, car shakes if you exceed speed of 55 or 50 m/h. I am still having those problem until today.

Noticed circular tearing of all four tires beginning at 16,000 miles.later, while driving down the highway, the front left tire blew and tore apart.luckily, no one was injured and i found a small edge of the freeway to change the tire, which was very nerve racking when changing the tire.this occurred at 18,000 miles, 18 months of owning the car.this was a week after i told nissan to look at my tires and they said nothing was wrong with them, despite the circular breakage beginning to occur.i told them to check for leaks as well.they said no leaks. They were goodyear tires 245/45/18 eagle rsa tires.i had to buy four new tires due to safety reasons at $575.

2006 eagle tires have cracking on the sidewalls. There is already a customer satisfaction recall for 2004 nissan maxima's. I have a 2006 with the same tires (newer) but same identical problem. Goodyear dealer did not want to replace tires as they say 2006 is not part of customer satisfaction. 3 out of 4 tires were splitting on sidewalls. Please take note that consumers are still having the problem with newer models. Although they put new tires on my vehicle, i do not feel safe with them on.

My 2009 toyota venza had 32,116 miles on it and had been in the garage for a tune up and tire rotation/check 1,000 miles earlier, with a written report that the tires were in good condition with good tire tread.on saturday, september 8th, ~5:00pm, i was driving on the busy three-lane 894/45 in milwaukee, wi 1.5 miles short of the i94 interchange when i heard a loud bang.i did not hit anything in the road.car pulled, but i avoided an accident.saw smoke behind my car and the tire pressure indicator came on.sidewall of the right rear tire blew with a ~10 gash.terrible and i was a basket case.by the time the sheriff and tow truck came, all toyota dealers were closed.had to drive 85 miles to madison on the wee spare tire.took car to smart motors last friday who told me "something must have hit the side".they saw no other damage.i left the car there and contacted my insurance company.adjuster came yesterday.they then told me that they found ahole in the tire and that likely caused the blown tire, which doesn't make sense to me.can that cause a blown side wall and loud "bang"?seems odd that they found a hole after i told them i contacted my insurance company and that an insurance adjuster was coming to see the tire.

On pontiac g8 gt with 18" wheels and goodyear rsa tires, the wheels and tires very often cannot be balanced properly.this leads to severe steering wheel shaking/wobbling and sometimes dealers put a lot of weights on the wheels attempting to balance an tire that cannot be balanced, even after replacing or remounting the tire.a web thread with many complaints:http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12322my g8 gt has the problem even after the dealer replaced the tires and rebalanced them.pontiac apparently refuses to acknowledge the problem, but they should replace all wheels/tired for the g8 if there is any wheel shake.

Severe steering wheel vibration.took mazda cx7 2007 with 12,800 milesto ntbs.they stated severe tire cupping (uneven wear on inside of all tires). Tires eagle rs-a p235/55r 18 99v .told me to take the car to the dealer. Did so, the next day ntbs called me with another customer with same problem. Spoke to him, had exact same problems. Both of us concerned with safety and premature tire wear.mazda only agreed to 50% of cost on his situation due to the fact that he had 20,000 miles.mazda got back to me and stated that mazda rep was willing to buy one front tire and i buy the other one. What about the back tires?in any event that?s another issue..was told that the tires placed on the mazda cx7, ( 4000 lbs vehicle ) were not designed to hold the weight of the vehicle.this could be serious problems down the road. No pun intended.

I have a 2011 bmw 550i xdrive and have had four of my tires go bust within the last few months. The car has less than 10600 miles on the clock. The tires are goodyear eagle 245/40 vr19 'run flat' tires. On four different occasions i have hit relatively minor potholes. The run flats do not burst, but bubble appear on the side and eventually they deflate. After that happens they are inoperable unless you drive below 30 miles an hour. Hence i have replaced four tires so far at a cost of nearly $2000. (receipts available). I have spoken to bmw north america, who installs these tires, after much haggling they finally agreed to reimburse me for half my cost. However i am really nervous driving the car now, as the slightest imperfection on road surface creates a major tire problem.there have been multiple complaints to bmw (see website 'bimmerfest' (a bmw enthusiast website). They know they have a problem but are tryingto deal with on a one by one basis. Because the car comes with run flat tires only, there is no spare tire. Hence if you replace with regular tire, you have no backup if you get into trouble. I am hoping that you would investigate and hopefully persuade bmw to recall these tires and replace with better tires. When i speak with bmw of north america they respond and say that these are goodyear tires, and not manufactured by bmw hence they try and transfer the blame to goodyear. Bmw sold this vehicle with these tires, they chose them. I suspect to safe money on putting a spare or donut wheel in the car. In my mind they are responsible. Please investigate these expensive and defective product, thank you.

In 2006, my wife leased a new vw beetle from a dealership in santa cruz county, california. The car came with a set of new goodyear eagle rs-a tires. My wife commutes 40 miles round trip five to six days a week to work. The car has approximately 60k in miles on it. The tires have not been mistreated- surface streets and freeway use only. On 4-25-09, my wife drove to work, parked in a public use garage, and spent eight hours working. When she returned to the car, the driver side front tire was flat. A tow service was called and they put on the spare tire. It was at that time the tow service driver showed my wife the inside sidewall of the replaced tire. In brief, about 90 percent of the sidewall had separated from the main tread to the point the metal bands were exposed. When my wife got home, i crawled under her car and saw the passenger side front tire was also in the same defective condition. I took pictures of both tires and downloaded them onto my computer. The cost to replace all four tires will be over $500.00 based on a sear\'s estimate. I checked the internet for recalls and safety bulletins on goodyear tires. I found there was no formal recall of this tire, but goodyear was doing a \"silent recall\" replacing tires for customer satisfaction. I found many similar complaints about these tires, the eagle rs-a, separating at the sidewall on the internet.todd mayer

The contact owns a 2004 nissan maxima.the vehicle has a set of goodyear eagle rs-a, size p245/45r18 tires.the contact received a recall notice indicating that her tires could potentially be defective and, if the tires have any cracks, they should be replaced.there were no cracks or damage to her tires.while driving 25 mph, the front passenger side tire blew out.the tires were never inspected on a regular basis.the mechanic stated that there was no way the tire should have failed, unless she was given a defective set.her tires displayed no evidence of the defect.the mechanic also stated that she had at least 10,000 more miles left on the tire.the tires have not been replaced.the vin, engine size, dot number, and recall number were unknown.the current and failure mileages were 40,000.

My leased 2010 infinity with 245-45-rsa 18" tiresinstalled.in 14000 miles tires have suffered 3 low profile tires with sidewall damage due to striking potholes requiring replacement.having driven 60yrs and over 900,000 miles experienced only one tire sidewall damage with bubble/rupture in all that time. Having been involved in auto racing my driving skills are better than the average driver.i avoid as much as possible pot holes but it is inevitable to contact some. I also try to slow down as safety permits so as to have a lower impact on said pot holes. Still 3ea.tires in 14000 milesare due to the "low profile tire design" the shallow aspect ratio is the culprit. As a faa licensed aircraft & engine mechanic and faa licensed private pilot i am quite familiar with a walk a round necessary before a aircraft is flown,i also apply this to the tires on my vehicle. If there is a bubble or sidewall damage the potential for a "blowout" on the highway at speed with one's self , friends or family for injury or death due to a tire blowout exists.my opinion is that low profile should be sold only on lighter weight sports cars and in area's of the country where potholes are not seen.in other words warmer climates can have low profile tires and colder climate area's should not unless requested by the drivers of cars that may be equipped with these tires on a requested basis.please look into this all to common problem as the tire manufacturers make money replacing these tires as do the new car dealers as the retailer of these dangerous tires.i shopped for the last tire replaced at my expense and three tire retailers stated they replace a abnormal amount of these tires due to the same reason.

The contact owns a 2004 nissan maxma.the vehicle has goodyear eagle rs-a tires, size p245/45r18.the contact stated that all four of her tires were replaced under a recall.a few days later, she felt a vibration when driving various speeds.the tire dealer stated that the failure was due to the road conditions.in march of 2008, she took the vehicle to the dealer for a tune-up and noticed that the steering wheel was shaking uncontrollably.the dealer stated that the failure was due to the replacement tires.the contact went back to the tire dealer and they replaced two more of the tires.after the replacement, the tire dealer stated that the vehicle would still drive "roughly" due to the road.in june, after a long road trip, the steering wheel shook so much that the contact could visibly see it shaking.she took the vehicle back to the tire dealer and they changed one more tire.she spoke with the vehicle manufacturer and was referred to the tire manufacturer.the tire manufacturer began compiling a case for her based on the failures.the recall number was unknown.the current mileage was approximately 47,150 and failure mileage was approximately 45,000.updated 09/24/08the consumer stated the issue was resolved. The original equipment tires on my 2009 mazda3 5-door: goodyear eagle rs-a 205/50 r17 are showing premature wear at 12,000 miles.the owners manual states that goodyear warranties the tires.the goodyear pamphlet provided only warranties "workmanship" wear is not covered under "original equipment installations".this is the second set of goodyears that have come as original equipment and showed premature wear.i feel that goodyear does this intentionally to inflate their aftermarket sales.when i purchased the vehicle, i asked the dealership to swap tires with another vehicle.all vehicles on the lot had the same terrible goodyear eagle rs-a.

The vin was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.

Sidewall cracks on all 4 tires (goodyear eagle rsa 245-45-18) on my 2004 nissan maxima were apparent at about 20-25,000 miles.i was verbally notified about this defect by the nissan dealer, who recommended a complete new set of tires.i wanted a second opinion about the cracks, as there was still good tread left on the original tires.i took the car to discount tire co. They also said that the tires were cracked andtherefore unsafe.i had all 4 of them replaced. Unfortunately, discount tire company didn't write the reason for replacement on my receipt (cracked sidewalls), and because of that omission, goodyear has denied me any redress at all.to date, they still haven't even sent the original receipt back to me.

All 4 eagle rs a p205 goodyear tires on my 2004 mazda 3 4 door sedan are defective. One tire the sidewall totally cracked and separted and the other 3 tires are beginning to crack and separte. I believe these tires are defective and are a safety hazzard. The goodyear dealer has refused to rectify this situation. I know the tires on the nissan cars are being replaced for the same defect. However, i was told by the dealer that i would need to replace one tire and the dealer did not check the other 3 tires which when i took my car to another dealer who showed me the separating sidewalls and told me that they need to be replaced. The tire listed as the only option for eagle rsa on your form is p245. These tires in question are p205 so i am not sure how to report this defect.

2006 nissan maxima se oem goodyear eagles 245/45/18 defective sidewalls. More specifically, subject tires developed major cracks of 6 inches or more on the inner and outer sidewalls. An internet query yielded numerous identical complaints concerning maximas and goodyear tires. Three of four tires had major cracking on inside sidewall, damage only detectable when vehicle was placed on lift. One of four tires had obvious signs of major cracking on outside sidewall; which prompted further investigation and discovery of inner sidewall cracking. All tires could catastrophically fail during normal use.

Notice of possible tire cracking condition received through the mail suggest looking at tires. Looked at tires saw no cracks .a few months later a tire was flat even though it looked like good thread wear and a second tire was slowly losing air.the flat tire had several cracks on the inner side of tire sidewall.we contacted the goodyear company and they suggested going to a goodyear dealer and have them inspect the tires.after going to the suggested dealer, they confirmed that all the tires were cracking and suggested not riding on them.the dealer said they had a file number for this inspection from goodyear. The dealer also said the tire replacement would cost more than $1,100.00 and that was only an estimate.

Purchased 4 goodyear eagle rsa tires in the past 2 years (2 purchased @ just tires and 2 purchased at gardena nissan). Tires frequently lost air pressure. I went back to just tires and was told that it was because of the rims. I went back to gardena nissan and they could not find anything wrong, so i purchased nitrol thinking this would solve the problem. The problem continued and i took it back, still no problem found. While driving i heard a pop, stopped and saw that the tire was flat. Turned into gas station on corner and attempted to put air in, tire would not inflate. Called aaa, tow truck driver removed tire and found 3 cracks, 1 of which had blown open. He said it as a manufacturer defect. A week prior to incident i received a recall letter from goodyear for the same defect. I took tire to gardena nissan and they said they could not do anything-i would have to go to goodyear. I then went to just tires, they said the tire was defective but it wasn't covered under the recall because of the dot and they couldn't get authorization because goodyear was already closed for the day. They also found that one other tire had the same cracks in it. So i purchased 2 new tires at the prorated rate. I contacted goodyear the next day about reimbursement and was told that they would not replace the tires because they didn't fall within the recall criteria, eventhough they have the same defect.

After 24,000 miles the goodyear eagle tires on my 2005 nissan maxima developed a bubble on the sidewall in exactly the same spot on both tires. When i took the car to the goodyear dealer for warranty repair they told me it was not covered and they said the tires had an "impact break." they said this was not uncommon in this tire and they see it all the time.

All 4 tires of my nissan 2004 (first owner) develop cracks on sidewalls, not sure when cracks developed however, based on 1/8" wide crack (gap) on right rear inside tire, crack must have started between 25,000 & 30,000 miles , all along perimeter where sidewall meets tread. Tire size (original equipment manufacturer) p245-45-r18, goodyear eagle rs-a. Dealer (central valley nissan, modesto ca). Condition of tires are obviously a sign of structural defect. Tires can explode at any time and should not be driven until new tires have been placed. Dealerships should be notified to watch for conditions on models that were sold with this particular tire. I found the condition myself and unfortunately have never been warned by the dealer who sold me the vehicle. I believe many others with the same type of tire are at risk today and not aware of the impending consequence.

All 4 tires of my nissan 2004 (first owner) developcracks on sidewalls (25000 miles), all alongperimeter where sidewall meets tread. Tire size (original equipment manufacturer)p245-45-r18,goodyear. Dealer (sheehy nissan, springfield, va) released document : "found all 4 tires have splits in sidewalls. No apparent damage -- looks like under warranty." tires have been rotated by dealer atrecommended intervals, wheels balanced. Nissan manual:at rotation dealer inspects for abnormalities; no mentionof problems at about 2600 miles. Dealer advise contact goodyear hq, tires not guaranteed nissan. Was advised by goodyear hq to have car inspected @ craven tires, fairfax station, va. Craven tires released written statement: "we found cracks in all 4 tires inconsistent with dry rot due to mileage and age of tires. Customer was offered 25%courtesy discount on new tires. Customer has declined at this time. Offer stands for 30 days. Note tread depth on all 4 tires is 4/32 of an inch." note that 4/32 is measured from embedded "consumption" bar, note also that new tires are 10/32 inch, hence tires would still have 40% life (4/10). My opinionis a structural defect and therefore a danger for all these tires, not only on my car. Dealer (mr. Ron del rio, sheehy nissan, springfield, va) confirmed by mouth that the problem had occurred on many other maximas en altimas, but that all clients had decided to pay themselves for replacement. These tires will see separation of sidewalls/tread, rapid deflation and may cause accident. Do not use the car until this is solved to my full satisfaction; will not hesitate to bring the matter in front of the court. I am awaiting answer on my notes that i sent to goodyear corporate address and nissan customer services. Nissan has notified me that it will answer me within 2-3 days, as the matter had to brought to the attention of "higher level" people within their organization.

Tiresdefective poor workmanship.

Complete tire blow out of front passenger side. Car was traveling @60 miles per hour.2nd car with goodyear eagles on nissan maxima.recalled tires on 2004.2008 has same issue.wait for recall again?or wait until someone is killed? the car had 10,000 miles.

I took possession of my 2004 nissan maxima in the first week of january 2005. I noticed a constant, but gradual tire pressure issue. I took the car to the local nissan dealership and they indicated the tire had to be patched. I asked about the actual sidewall and they did not feel there were any problems involving the sidewalls. I took the car to an independent dealership that felt there was indeed some manufacturer problem with the tires. I called the dealership and they reported that there were no recalls and that the warranty would not cover this issue. They explained that if i chose to i could initiate a claim with both or either the good year eagle manufacturer or nissan. The good year eagles installed on my maxima had less than 11,000 miles and as the dealership was not amenable to reconciling their opinion on the tires to that of an independent tire inspection i decided the best course of action was to replace the good year eagle tires with nokian tires.this replacement occurred on october 6, 2006 with only 11,000 miles on the tires. I was very hesitant to drive the car due to the tire pressure. I was filling the tires every two-three days to maintain some type of safety while driving.when i applied for the reimbursement on the goodyear eagle rs-a tires my claim was denied because there was no indication that the replacement was due to 'a sidewall issue.' who in their right minds would willingly choose to replace 4 tires at once with brand new tires at only 11,000 miles if there was no safety issue??? of course this is a safety issue and i wasn't willing to be involved in an accident to prove the point. The following is a website (just one of many) that notes the issues and lack of company response. Www.consumeraffairs.com/tires/goodyear_tires.html. Clearly the company is not correcting or reimbursing consumers for their faulty products.i spent what i consider to be a good deal of money to make my 'dream' car safe to drive. \

Good year eagle rsa tire blew on i-95 in south florida. Sidewall blew out of tire. Tires have less than 25,000 miles on them. I have been experiencing problems with the goodyear eagle rs-a's that came on my 2004 nissan maxima.all four tires have been leaking air due to the sidewall cracks that have developed on each tire.due to the fact that all four tires have developed these sidewall cracks and that multiple individuals have experienced this same problem leads me to the conclusion that this is a factory defect.due to the concern of my family's safety, i have replaced all four tires with another brand of tires.

Letter on behalf of constituent re his unsuccessful efforts to initiate a nhtsa defect investigation of a particular tire, despite his claims which suggest the need for the investigation.*njthe consumer stated goodyear produces the goodyear eagle rsa- 245-45r-18 tire that is used on various foreign and domestic cars. Nissan used the tire on their 2004 maxima. All of the original tires on the consumers vehicle had cracked sidewalls or have blown out on the highway. The tire was purchased after the recall dateand based upon the data at nhtsa and complaints to goodyear, the tire was unsafe and should have been recalled.the consumer stated the original recall was inadequate and posses a safety problem.

I purchased a 2004 nissan maxima se with goodyear eagle rsa 245/45/18 size, in sept. 2003. In april 2005 i had all 4 tires replaced because of the sidewall cracking. My car only had 22,000 miles on it. In oct 2006 i had a blowout on the expressway and goodyear couldn't determine if it was from the cracking and i bought a new tire. In june 2007, with only 46000 miles i suffered 3 flat tires due to the cracking (the new tire i just bought was fine). I complained to goodyear and they replaced all 4 free of charge with a set of dunlop direzzas. I feel this is a tremendous safety hazard and something should be done about it.

The contact owns a 2004 nissan maxima.the contact received a recall notice for his goodyear eagle rs-a, size p245/45r18 tires.he brought the letter to the goodyear repair shop.the mechanic inspected the tires and found cracks on the sidewalls.the contact was informed that he could replace the tire, but the cost would be prorated.the balance that remained was $118.the contact informed the mechanic that the repair should be free, according to the recall notice.he left the goodyear store without receiving the new tire.he has called the number provided in the notice for the past week and they continue to transfer him from one department to another.the dot number and recall number were unknown.the current and failure mileages were 37,000.

Sidewall separation goodyear eagle rsa tire original tire on 2004 mazda 3 driven 21,400 miles. Previously 2 unexplained flat tires. Taken to the dealer to check tires. No cause found. For the third time, air was leaking from the tire and the sidewall separation with a large deep crack was 3/4 around the tire. When i took it to a goodyear dealer i was told that only the eagle rsa were being replaced on the nissan's and not the mazda 3. No further explanation was available. I now have to replace at least one tire and perhaps all four because of this safety hazard.

All four goodyear eagle rs-a p245/45r tires on my 2004 nissan maxima developed deep sidewall cracks.nissan would not cover the defective tires.goodyear provided some relief by discounting the replacement cost to $264.15.upon searching the internet to see if other owners had experienced the same problem with the 2004 nissan maxima and goodyear tires, i discovered there were 113 registered owners who had the identical problem, extensive sidewall cracks.neither nissan nor goodyear would acknowledge a problem.some of the owners experienced crashes and injuries.the web site is http://www.mycarstats.com/safetystation.asp#safetystation.underinflation was not the problem.i check my tires regularly.jack burns..

The contact owns a 2004 nissan maxima.both rear tires began to crack on the sidewall.a recall notice was received from goodyear, when he went to the dealer they stated that the dot number was not included in the recall.there was not a nhtsa campaign number.the tires were goodyear rs-a size p245/45r18.the current and failure mileages were 61,237.

Consumer complaint about goodyear eagle tires. She was told she didn't have enough proof showing that her tires were adjusted for the cracking in the sidewall. Dealer said that is not enough for them to replace the tires.(nissan maxima)

Goodyear eagle tires , tire had 27,000 miles on them all four tires was cracked around the inside bead at the rim , goodyear says they don't warranty oem equipment but the dealer says its there responsibility, i had to replace all four tires out of pocket.

Informed of split tire while in for service on 2004 nissan maxima after trip to ohio when air sensor failed and had to drive home below 55 mph in limp/safety mode. Tire: goodyear rsa 245/45/18. Paid for two new tires.

2004 nissan maxima with recall on the goodyear tires. Consumer states that the problem with his tires occurred a year before he received the recall. Consumer requested reimbursement and was denied because goodyear said there was no proof of sidewall cracking on the receipt.

2004 maxima with cracks on the sidewalls of the tires. Customer states that the tires had cracks in the sidewalls and goodyearfurther stated he is ineligible for reimbursement.

My mazda 7 suv grand touring tire were wearing out at 10,000 miles i bring back to dealer because wheel shake when put on brakes and when doing 65 miles too their tire are goodyear 235/60/18 i need new tire at 24,000 mile that crazy i go dodge ram 2,500 and i get 70,000 mile.

The contact owns a 2007 honda civic.the vehicle has goodyear eagle rs-a, size p245/45r18 tires.the rear tires on the inside edge were wearing out very quickly due to exaggerated camber setting.the top of both rear tires were leaning inwards and wearing out the inside edge of the tire.the current mileage was 13,874 and failure mileage was 13,362.updated 04/03/08.*lj

The contact owns a 2005 ford focus.the vehicle has goodyear eagle rs-a tires, size p19560r15.the contact stated that the tires were defective and the steel belt was visible.due to the low mileage on the tires, the failure should not have occurred.he also noticed wear on the tires.the contact took the vehicle to the goodyear dealer and they replaced all four tires.recently, the front tires malfunctioned.the dealer replaced the front tires in december of 2007 with kumho tires.there had been no further occurrences since the replacement.currently, the rear tires are defective.the purchase date and dot number were unknown.the current mileage was approximately 75,000 and failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

2004 nissan maxima with defective goodyear eagle rsa tires customer wants all four tires replaced**nar**ccthe consumer received 2 new tires from savitt tire dealership both front tires had tread separation and stated the dealer who made the inspection informed the consumer the vehicle was very unsafe to drive. Goodyear made the decision to only replace the front 2 tires and to sell the consumer the other 2 in which he declined. The consumerdoes not know why retailer shipped4 new tires to the dealer but goodyear only agreed to give the consumer 2 new tires.the consumer provided a copy of a reimbursement form and an article about defective tires.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda cx-7.the vehicle has goodyear eagle rs-a tires, size p235/55r18 99v.the contact noticed wear on all four tires, which indicated that they would have to be replaced prematurely.she spoke with other mazda owners and they also noticed the same tread failure.the dealer and manufacturer have not been notified.the current mileage was 18,000 and failure mileage was 17,000.

Tread came off of tire causing crash.

Goodyear eagle rs-a tire handling issue.size 245/45zr/20.on interstate highways with rain grooves, the tires are unstable, follow the rain grooves, you can not drive straight, the car drifts with the road surface, the tires will not track correctly while cornering.

On 14jul10 while driving in heavy rain and traffic at high way speed the windshield wipers slowed noticeably then stopped.visual sight of traffic in front of me was impossible.after managing to pull over into the break down lane with out a collision i proceeded to check out the problem.the fuse for the windshield wipers was not blown nor could i find any other problem that would have accounted to this problem.after the rain let up i proceeded to continue my commute home having to pull over and stop numerous times when the rain started again.this was a nerve racking experience!the next day i took my vehicle to the dealer where i bought it to be checked out.i was told that the wind shield wiper motor was burned out and it would cost about $330.00 to repair it and they would overnight express a new one as they did not have any in stock.the repair was complete on16jul10 and i picked the vehicle at app 3pm, total cost $337.00. Mileage was app. 42900 so it was not under warranty.i consider wind shield wipers important safety equipment and believe that they should be held to a higher standard. This vehicle is a 2008 that i bought new!wiper motors burning out in two years???i have a 1994 ford ranger with 213000+ miles on it with the original wiper motor still in it!!!i believe mazda should make good on this type of premature failure on safety equipment.i all so have excessive tire ware on the inside edges of my tires, worn down smooth and scalloping but due to rotating often i have managed to get better life out of them and will replace them soon.i have a noise that sounds to me like a wheel bearing or other rotating part wearing out and shimmy/vibration through the steering wheel that the dealer claims is related to the worn/scalloped tires.i will soon see if this goes away when i replace the tires.

I was westbound on 5th st. In olivehurst, ca, and headed to olivehurst drive.the conditions were dry and cool, and the speed limit was 25 mph.i had not yet come up to the speed limit (below 10 mph) when my front end began to shake.seconds later, my passenger and i heard a loud bang, and the front end swerved sharply to the right. I tried to correct to the left, and ended up clipping a pole (on the right side of the road) instead of hitting it head on.my passenger sustained a blow to his knee.no other injuries occurred, and we did not feel it necessary to call an ambulance.as there was minimal scrapes on the power pole, and my car was not covered for collision damage, i did not notify the authorities.my right front tire was bent inward, and the tire was blown down the center of the tread.upon replacing the tire with the spare, we found that the a arm had separated from the rotor, and the right cv axle had pulled away from the transmission, effectively disabling my car.the tire in question is a goodyear eagle rs-a p195/60r15; the original tire from the purchase date of 9/13/05, and with less than 27,000 miles on the odometer.the tires were close to bald prior to the blowout, and i had been considering taking them in for a warranty replacement due to their short lifespan.i have had prior tire rotations done at larry geweke ford in yuba city, and they had not informed me of any tread wear problems at the time for this particular tire.this type of defect could have easily killed myself and my passenger if it had occurred at higher speeds.

Premature tread wear on all 4 tires.tires needed replacing after 15,000 miles.only slight cooperation with manufacturer.they offered a discount on replacement tires.

- the contact purchased a 2004 infinity g35 august 21, 2006.the contact stated that at that time, metro infinity , the dealership, told the contact that they put new tires on the car in may 23, 2006.the contact has found in january 2007 that the tires on the front ofthe car were 2003 tires, and the tires on the rear ofthe car were 2005.the contact also stated that the size of the tires on the front ofthecarwere p225/50r 17-9v.the contact stated that the front tireswereworn in the center and cracked on the sides while the rear tireswere like new.the contact would like for metro infinity to replacethe front tires.

Tire tread separation. Was told nothing can be done. Low mile tires original equipment tires replaced but very loud with same tire.

2006 nissan maxima with 19000 miles was traveling 70 mph on interstate highway when the left rear tire tread separated completely from the rest of the tire. The tire failure caused the driver to lose control and spin into concrete divider at center of interstate.

Goodyear 245-45-192 tires tread separating.verified at discount tirenot safe at any speed.
