2012 ford focus 24,000 miles. During routine maintenance performed by the dealer, it was discovered that a pair of tires had severe abnormal wear. Tires have been rotated per car manufacture specifications. Dealer reported this is normal for this car and purchasing a new pair of tires would resolve this issue. Upon my investigation, cupping in a 2012 ford focus is directly related to no camber adjustment to the rear suspension. Cupping also reduces traction and braking power. My concern is for safety, and believe the car manufacture hasfailed to properly design the geometry of the suspension correctly to meet.

Gmc savana 2006 with only 9,300 miles on it.had dealer in fl check veh before we left on vac to nj.on way to nj we kept hearing things hitting under the carriage noises.took to dealer here in nj and they checked and saw that all the weights had come off the rims/tires.the tires are p275r45/20 with chrome rims on a custom handicapped van with lift.dealer in nj stated they replaced the weights that were missing and also told us we needed to have rotors cut down.cost of $60.00 for weights and rotors under warranty.not even 2 miles up road and the weights came off again.this time i called to dealer in fl.they told us to go to reputable tire co and have it checked because they would be able to make sure weights were placed on properly and secured not to fall off again on trip home to fl.we took to good year dealership and they had to replace 2 tires but the dealer explained that the tires were all rotting and slices were all over the sidewalls that should not have been there.he also told them that the tires were all from the same lot and cut and consecutive numbers also.he recommended to corp that they agree to replace all 4 because he was not sure that we would not have trouble on the way home.we again were charged for the balance and weights and labor but not charged for the tires except for the trade of 50.00 each tire for the worn tread of 9,300 miles wear and tear.i felt that it was agreed that these tires in the lot numbers should be recalled to the public for safety reasons.we also had the nitro in the tires which could have exploded from the pressure of the tire problem.we could have been killed or seriously injured from this defect.the public has the right to know that this lot of eagle tires : eagle gt 2 : p275r45/20 are serious defects.tires can be replaced but lives can not .

The vehicle loses control where it pulls to the right side, especially from the rear when driving over a rough road or on a smooth road upon driving over a slightly recessed manhole cover. Vehicle has been back to the dealer 2 times for 4 wheel alignment, wheel balance and replacement of rear shocks. No improvements in condition after both visits. Alignment data shows the rear wheels are at higher levels of negative camber, which is not adjustable, and toe. Driving vehicle in icy, rainy weather is unsafe if current handling characteristics are not, or can not be corrected.dt

Had a tire blowout while on interstate. Goodyear dealer inspected tire and determined that there was no cuts or punctures that caused the blowout.goodyear offered a discount on a new tire based on tread wear.goodyear dealers , however do not have the tire needed. I contacted goodyear and they said they are on back order and i should just but a used tire to use until tires are available.i don't want to use any used tires and i am now afraid of my other tires on any interstate driving.goodyear was very uncooperative to try to help me in any way except to say they don't have my particular tire. I would be willing to upgrade to a better tire and install a complete new set if they would consider their discout on the better tires. I feel that i have not been treated fairly as the tire defect was not any fault of mine...can your organization help me in any way? i have some more interstate trips to make and do not feel safe without having new tires installed.nd. The contact owns a 2006 ford mustang equipped with 4 goodyear gt tires, size: 234/45/17. The contact was driving 70 mph when the front driver's side tire failed. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. The police were notified and a police report was filed. There were no injuries. The tires were inspected by an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the tire tread was 10/32. The tire was not replaced and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the incident. The approximate failure mileage of the vehicle was 75,294. The tire failure mileage was unknown.
Tires that were purchased feb 2004 with 25/30 k on them dry-rotted to the point they could not be balanced and were a safety issue. Original tires were goodyear american eagle gt size p225/5516bw.. These tires were not parked on anything that could cause a moisture issue and they were never cleaned without proper cleaning materials.
I was commuting to work on highway 59 northbound just south of the gessner exit at 65 miles per hour when i heard a loud explosion and i nearly lost control of the car. My vehicle is a 2006 ford focus zx4 with 15 inch standard alloy rims. The left rear goodyear eagle gt tire had exploded without warning. I saw smoke emerge from the wheel well as i brought my car to a stop on the exit ramp at bissonnet. I called my husband who came out to change the tire and upon removal we discovered that the entire tread section from one edge of the rim to the other had completely come off and was stuck in the wheel well, leaving the rim bare. There was light cracking on the rest of the set on the inner part of the tire near the rim. The tires were purchased on june 17th 2011 at discount tire and only had 23,000 miles of wear on them. They had been regularly rotated and inspected at discount tire on schedule. The dot number on the tires is m7rb k11r 1511. I contacted goodyear customer service today and they told me the tires are not under recall. My wife could have been killed by this incident.
While driving home from the grocery store (less than 2 miles away), i experienced a blowout of the forementioned tire. My speed at the time was less than 30 mph, as i had just completed a left turn after a full stop at a traffic signal. Upon removing the tire, i found a slash on the inward wall, with no other signs of damage. The slash is appx 3 inches long, 2 inches from the tread, perpendicular to the rim. (tiresize: p185/60r15)
Tires were checked during 3000 mile oil change and tire wear was reported as normal.900 miles later we experienced a shimming when driving at around 70 miles an hour.stopped to have tires checked at goodyear dealer and the tires were worn down to wearbars approximately 4 inch strip on each of the front tires.goodyear dealer stated and cadillac confirmed that cadillac catera is noted for alignmnent problems causing unusual tire wear. This is a safety issue when in less than 900 miles a tire can wear to a seriously dangerous level.research via various web sites indicates many catera owners experiencing serious problems with dangerous tire wear and wheel alignments. On sunday, june 1st 2008, i was traveling southbound on the highway 99 in my wife's 1998 ford expedition from fruitridge rd to florin rd.as i exited onto florin rd going westbound, i heard what sounded like plastic caught on the side.i pulled into the 76 gas station on florin road and east parkway to asses the damage.the valve stem on my nearly new goodyear eagle gt ii 285/50-20 tire had torn.the horror is that i decided to take my wife's truck and leave my 2002 ford excursion at home that morning because it had my boat attached and i didn't want to move it. This incident could have resulted in extreme harm done to my wife and children.it cost me time and money to correct this problem.

Goodyear eagle gt 205 45/r17 88v tires on a mazda mx-5 grand tour, 2006.the tires had about 25000 miles on them with lots of tread left when the incident happened.one tire went flat and it was discovered that all four, including the flat, tires had developed slices or cracks along the entire inter wall ofall four tires.it appears like the wall and inner belt have separated and the rubber just becomes stressed and week and cracks.this could have resulted in multiple (possible all four) tires from going flat at the same time.i have pictures and am contacting goodyear through sam's club tires.

While driving on a freeway i experienced a blowout on the front left tire (driver side).when i removed the tire i discovered the inner sidewall of my goodyear eagle gt ii (p215/60r16) had a slash/split and the rubber on the sidewall was peeling away from the reinforcing fabric inside the tires.on may 30, 2003, i had an identical failure on the front right tire, while traveling on the same road, under the same weather conditions, at the same time of day, after driving the same distance (about 10-12miles from home).all four tires on the car were purchased from a goodyear dealershipon november 25, 2000, and have approximately 40,000 miles of wear.inflation pressure was routinely checked and the tires were rotated every 5,000 to 7,000 miles.as a precaution i am replacing the remaining two tires.
