I have a 2005 chevy impala, currently with 22,320 miles. At my oil change and tire rotation, (~20,500) i was informed by repair place that they would not perform the tire rotation as i would be needing to replace the tires soon. I asked why they were wearing so fast- i was told, they noticed it on many impalas- premature tire wear between 18,000-25,000 miles.~ 15 months ago, with only about 13,000 miles, when i had an oil change done i was informed me the engine was leaking oil from the rear of the engine, i should take it to the dealer for repair.the dealer had to replace (under warranty) several seals/gaskets- oil pan, drain plug, oil filter, plus replace the drain plug.the car is sometimes hard to start and have to hold the key in the start position, and/or lightly press the gas pedal to start it. About two weeks ago, i grinded the starter.sometimes the car will start roughly and immediately stall, or will stall the first few seconds as i am backing out the drive way.dealer about this they told me i was using cheap gas and to use a better brand, but i always use "brand" gas, i even use fuel injector cleaner dealer later told me i needed to have the fuel injection "flushed"with their system for $199, plus tax and charges, hearing it was not good for the vehicle, i declined.i have also noticed a "clunking/bumping/banging" noise when turning, especially hard turns. My brakes need to be replaced, the front brakes are starting to make a thump when braking, and yesterday when braking hard, i heard a squeal noise, (rear?).fuel gauge sometimes rapidly fluctuates, when driving, and at times when accelerating,(though not concurrent) i hear a "swoosh/gargling" sound. I was accelerating too hard.the fuel gauge will swing as much as a 1/4 tank when driving before recovering to the correct position.gauge shows low fuel level, low fuel light comes on,i only needed 10-12 gals to fill it (~16 gals).

Dt: while driving in rainy weather it sounded from the right front corner of the car under the hood like something was grinding or abrasion.it sounded like two bearings rubbing against each other.took the car to the dealer, and they were not able to hear it.the dealer took it for a test drive, lifted it up onto the liftand was not able tohear any noise.updated 8/14/2006 - the right front tire warped.the brake calipers warped shortly after the vehicle was purchased.both front rotors hadto be replaced due to warpage.the consumer heard noise on the driver's side front end.the dealer replaced the upper strut mount, bearing plate and aligned the front end.the vehicle would lose power while driving.the dealer reprogrammed the engine control module.the master cylinder leaked and had to be replaced.power steering pump leaked and was replaced.the tramsmission was slipping.

The rear brakes are insufficiently proportioned to the front causing the front tires to loose traction easily under moderate braking.there is a spongy brake pedal and i have suggested that air in the back lines may be causing this.no action has been taken because they say their tests show the car is within gm guidelines.the problem becomes readily evident when traction conditions are unfavorable with only slight brake pedal pressure the front tires will overcome the available traction available.it is obvious that the rear brakes are barely assisting, if at all.i have 3 other vehicles and in the same conditions, i can't even get the tires to break loose unless i stomp the brakes.but with intrigue, light pressure causes the front tires to loose traction.abs functions properly, but would have never come on if all 4 brake were assisting.and in an abs event, no matter how hard or soft i apply the brake, the car's deceleration rate is dramatically reduced.actually feels like the car is stopping about half as well as before abs activated. These abs events occur all the time.the consistent feeling that the fronts are about to loose traction while the backs are just not contributing is frustrating and life threatening.my wife, brother and i have all had this happen to us while driving this car.i've gone through intersections, into snowdrifts to avoid other vehicles, etc.while the cars next to me can stop with no fuss.another item that shows more evidence to this is, the front rotors were turned twice for warpage and replaced, then turned again for warpage, all under 36000 miles. Also the back tires look like they're still new. Last week, during a nice heavy rain, with abs disabled (removal of a fuse), i showed the mechanic that i could not make the back brakes lock the wheels. This was with both feet mashing on the brake. This is while the fronts were skidding all the way. Please help! abs isn't going to save me, but good brakes sure would help.*a

I have got the third steering column, third set of tires and a new cradle.the problem started at 4437 miles and has continuedyet @ 37204 miles.have been to many dealers, contacted gm and now have a better business bureau complaint filed.the dealers told me it was the tires and the tire dealers told me it was the car.in 4000 miles my tires went from 9/32" to 3/32" wear.the "klunk" in the front end is still there.the vehicle likes to "wander" down the road with vibrations felt in the steering wheel.the service manager took it on many test drives and contacted the regional manager=who said "not another dime in this car".i was escorted to the sales department and introduced to a salesman for purposes of trading the vehicle in.the offer was less than nada trade value.i have contacted gm's assistance line many times and just got the "run around" with operators documenting conversation and no one would let me talk to a "real" supervisor.all i wanted to do was ask for a fair solution to the problems that the dealers and gm know that they have.my vehicle is now out of warranty with the same problems since i bought it.why = if gm states in their literature = they are committed to "customer satisfaction" = not responsive in a fair manner and i had to take this issue to all of these extremes?????????????also at issue= is the fact that gm penalizes dealers (with bad customer surveys) due to the manufacturers engineering problems.what happened to telling the "truth" and "customer satisfaction" in business????????? Faulty valve stems (likely from the china recall) on 2 goodyear tires so far on my car that cracked prematurely.

The tire that failed was a replacement installed on 3/14/98 and it had only 32,000 miles on it.it was repaired by a goodyear dealer for a leaking problem on 8/21/2000.the tire completely failed on 9/27/2000 while i was driving to an appointment on highway 97.the car started to vibrate and then i could hear it thumping the wheel well as the tread came off.i was able to brake and drive to the shoulder immediately, with no further damage to the car.after removing the tire, i observed that the entire tread had separated fom the sidewall on the exterior side and the interior side was 50% separated.this damage occured within 50 yards of my first awareness of a problem to the time i stopped.i braked gradually to leave the road at a safe speed.further examination revealed that there was no obvious hole or damage to the actual tread surface.i decided to report this issue based on the current situation with firestone tires.i also feel that i am fortunate to have survived without damage to my vehicle.i intend to pursue this incident with the tire dealership and/or goodyear for replacement or compensation of the failed tire, at no further cost to myself.i would be glad to discuss this incident and i have pictures of the failed tire, although i did not take pictures at the time of the failure.please contact me immediately if this product is part of a larger product failure investigation. Manufacturer selected oem tires, goodyear eagles, unsafe on wet/damp surfaces.tires would spin upon starting away from stop no matter how gently/slowly you tried to drive away.car would fishtail and lose traction (especially rear (drive) wheels) on moderate corners at moderate speeds while accelerating or not.tires replace at 15,000 miles with plenty of life left on them due to safety concerns.replaced with goodyear aquatred iii's.much better handling with new tires.

Request for safety assurance of goodyear oem tires on 2002 impala.*mr(nar)

Heater core hoses leaked by 34k miles - seeping anti freeze into passenger side carpet, smelling of syrup, and fogging up windows when they needed to be defogged.also, tires were noisy from first drive.at 36.5k miles they are very bad, vibrating entire car and making extreme road noise.

On 6/25/98 i placed 4 new goodyear tires at 30948miles.on 6/22/00 blowout at 55mph left rear at 43958 miles.replaced blowout w/ goodyear tire.on 3/24/01 blowout left front goodyear .on 4/13/01 blowout at 60mph left rear [the goodyear placed on 8/1/00] at 48344 miles.too many blowouts...no injuries, but lucky.did not hit road hazards. Both passenger front and rear tires blew out at the sidewall, the vehicle left the road way and flipped over. One tire blew while the vehicle was sitting and the other while pulling into a parking lot. The consumer had the second failed tire in their possession.*ph

I purchased 2 eacheagle ga p205/65r15 tires for the local goodyear garage on jan. 20, 2007.i initially wanted to purchase 2 other tires but since they didn't have those in stock, they told me they would give me these tires for the same price as the other tires.in may of 2007, i had to have both valve stems replaced on the tires and again in november of 2007 because the tires kept leaking air. I purchased the tires at with 53861 miles on the car.i currently have 74747 miles and was told aug 15, 2008 by the same goodyear store that i needed new tires because the tread was down to 3/32. After they called corp and i complained, i was told goodyear wouldn't replace the tires until the tread was at 2/32.my tires leak air constantly and the tread wear is very apparent.i was told it was probably a suspension/non rotating tire problem.the tires were rotated every 4 months during the oil change. Nothing has been done to correct the failure since goodyear won't even think about replacing them for another month due to not enough tread wear!!

I had two blowouts of this goodyear eagle ga touring tire over a period of 10 months driving freeway speed of 70 when one blowout occurred and 50 mph with the other. Even though i accepted a settlement of $176.04 from goodyear, this amount was slightly higher than the cost of one tire. I had 4 goodyears on the car. I bought a fairly new used car 2004 pontiac grandam from stark pontiac , sun praire wi on 12/2005, and the mileage was around 13,000-14,000 and now 28,000 and on 08/18/06 and i was almost in a car accident due to skidding off the road and i noticed i had a flat tire i took the tire to get repaired and was told it had bumps no nail that probably the bumps were the cause of the deflation, so i bought a new tire and then 2 days after i looked at my front tire and i could see the tearing in the tires . My husband reviewd the tires and he stated they had big bumps , i didn't take in for inspection since i don't want to have to pay agian. Now i am afraid the tires will burst on me while driving to work . The tires are good year eagle 205/65/15 and i looked at my neighbors tires since he owns the same kind of vehicle and they also look very deflated i haven't got a chance to ask about the tires. I am not a tire professional but do know that something is not right , i am a bit dissapointed since goodyear was the one to replace my one flat tire on 08/18/06 and never mentioned the other wear on the tires.i guess what suprises me is that aren't tires supposed to have at least 30,000 to 40,000 miles before they need replacing due to normal wear and tear? please advise. Do you have an other complaints regarding these tires?

The vehicle was taken to the dealer to have the tires checked because of aleak that was discovered. There was a bump on the insideon the passenger's steadier.the consumer was told that there was a possibility of a blowout at any time.later, there was a blowout but it was ondriver's side tire.goodyear, eagle ga, p225/70r15.the consumer found out the goodyear did not manufacturer tires at that time. *sc

Right front tire had a blowout while driving 60 mph in a 1999, ford ,escort, aftermarket equipment installed at 68,000 miles, tire size 185/65r14, dot# unavailable. Goodyear was notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

Blowout of left rear and right front.first occurred 0800 21 apr 01 on interstata 64 west near richmond va.second later that same day on interstate 95 south north of richmond.in both cases belt separation occurred.no puncture.holes in sidewall.i took the one tire i saved to a goodyear dealer and he determined that the tire had a defect resulting in belt separation. Wear on the tire even tho it had 50000 miles was over 20% tread left.i would never have expected two blowouts in one day particularly with the tread as good as it appeared.the tires were state inspected in late january. Tires extremely noisy since about 2,000 miles. Tires severely cupped after 5/6,000 miles. Ride extremely loud, with great deal of vibration. Since about 12,000 miles, extreme cupping of all four tires plainly visible. Tires at all times at mitshubishi recommended pressure, and rotated every 5,000 miles. No impact damage to any tire, or rim. No scuffing of sidewalls, or punctures. Tires apparently cupped from the start. Car purchased new, with 3 miles. Dealer cannot explain cause for severe cupping, but refuses to replace tires. Also contacted mitsubishi motor, who tells me that they have had some complaints on these tires. No one seems to want to accept responsibility. Concerned that tires may suddenly fail, es they are severely cupped (all 4) and ride with great deal of noise and vibration. Dealer claims problem not with auto, since properly aligned. Tires are balanced, and at proper inflation. Now becoming concerned for safety, and upset that dealer and mitsubishi doing nothing to correct condition. (dot number: tox82jm250tiresize: p215/60r16)

Multiple sidewall cracking, all tires. Tread: good to excellent. Sidewall cracking not noted until "fix-a-flat" was noted to squirt out of sidewall. All tires then checked; all had multiple cracking. (tiresize: p195/60r14)( dot number: tire size: p195/60r14 )

After the blowout, i safely pulled over, inspected the tire and all i saw was torn up sidewalls looking down to the center of the rim.the tread was completely gone all the way around the tire.a chp officer stopped traffic 1/4 mile behind me to remove the single large remnant from the roadway. (tiresize: 185 65r14)( dot number:tire size: 185 65r14 )

While driving rear passenger side tire sidewall came apart in two places.

1995 passat sidewall blew out while driving 65 mph.the technician who performed the inspection pointed to cracks which were near the rim line.

Out of 3 new tires, 1 complete blowout on interstate, 2 repl. Sdwl leaks.valve stem replacement. (dot number: mduljphr09tiresize: 205/50r15)

Side wall of all 4 tires show cracks.

While washing my vehicle, was scrubbing tires when i noticed a bulge/blister on my left rear tire, on the sidewall. It was located in the middle of tpc, and then the tire size. I notified goodyear of this problem, and they instructed me to locate the nearest goodyear retailer that does adjustments. This tire had approximately 20,000 miles on it, and was 2 yrs. Old. This tire replaced another one of the same make, that also developed the same problem, same area. Had i have known.....! this tire came as oem when the car was bought in '93, and this is the only tire i've run on the car....but now? goodyear prorated the tire, out the door at $94.00. I was shown where the belts on the sidewall had separated, with the tire being sent to npsc. Tire size is p225/60/r16.

Consumer was driving about 20 mph when front right tire blewout, causing vehicle to slide up over a curb and hit a fence. Ford, mustang, 2000, p205/65r15, dot m64rcner 1800.

Faulty valve stems (likely from the china recall) on 2 goodyear tires so far on my car that cracked prematurely.

While driving 30 mph the vehicle was involved in a head on collision. The dual air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was totaled due to severe damage.driver hit shoulder on the steering wheel that caused a ligament tear, and passenger suffered a cut on the head.*la

I took my car to the dealer for a problem which is now a recall. How do i know if i receive all recalls. Is it my responsibility or fords to keep me informed.ph
