I have a 2005 cadillac cts-v my first issue was back in 05/058,200 miles on car while driving car would not allow me to shift or change gears the car stalled and rolled to a stop. I called for road service 2 hours from home they towed car to an areadealer who later called to inform me the rear differential failed and gm had refused to pay for service. I had the car towed to my local dealer at my expense, at my dealers request. They informed me that gm said the car had excessive tire wear and damage was caused by driver abuse or aggressive driving i was forced to hire an attorney and pay for a vehicle i couldn't drive for several months. Late inaugust 05 cadillac agreed to pay for the repair. 01/07 27,000 miles i was driving the cts-v changed gears from 2nd to 3rd approx 30 mph heard a clunk and rear end started to whine i parked the car, called road side service ,they towed the car to the dealer. Customer service rep called a few days later he said the rear end has failed again and needs complete replacement the hangar baring is bent, the main bolt is broke in two pieces and is recommending a complete new rear end he also said gm refused to pay for service to his surprise. Here we go again. My local dealer has the car it has not been repaired as of yet, so yes the old parts are available. The cadillac cts-v rear differential is weak and may break causing this car to skid or suddenly stop, causing an accident, injury,or death. Cadillac knows of problem and has provided some customers with warranty repair, offered 100,000 mile extended warranties for others and yet denied repair for customers with similar problems. This rear differential is under rated for this cars horse power and was designed for use in the standard cts version of this car the rear tires have also been a problem showing early signs of wear. I had to replace my first set front and rear at 8,500 miles, these tires are worst rated tire by consumers at www.tirerack.com and cadillacfaq.com
Excessive wheel hop frequently under mild to heavy accelerationexcessive tire wear, tires need to be replaced after 4000 to 6000 miles rear end differential is very weak and may break causing injury or death cadillac knows of problem providing some customers with extended warranties had a 2004 ctsv and it was lemon lawed in july 2005 for the rear diff breaking 3 times within 1 year.

Several rear end differential failures.1 at 4000 miles, the second at 8000 miles. And the third is loud and makes noises from the day i got it back.gm tried to void and not cover the rear end so i had to take it to another state for them to fix it for me.they just start out quiet and then get louder and louder and louder.the last one died with my family in the vehicle at 40 mph durring regular driving.rear locked up then broke up in half. It killed the driveshaft and several other parts when it locked up.i have had 20+ gm cars in my lifetime and this one is the worst built rear end ever. If i tried, i bet i could kill it in one full throttle launch.but, of coarse wont try that cause it will break....also, needed a wheel alignment, clutch update, and several other things done. The radio acts funny and paint on one button is comming off, and my head liner lights dont work. Also i have had to replace all 4 tires 2 times already with factory replacements and i only have 10,000 miles on mine???

Failure by general motors to disclose that the oem tires delivered with a new 32013 corvette grand sport are unsafe if used when the temperature is below 42 degrees fahrenheit.failure to correct this defective condition after being put on notice and requests for safe tires ignored.i know of this problem so i can avoid the danger.you must recall all these cars because not all owners are aware of this problem (i stumbled upon it by accident--it is disclosed no where is any sales literature or the owners manual for the car or anywhere else that i am aware of and i have looked and asked chevrolet and they ignored my question) and they take their lives and those of innocent bystanders in their hands if they use the car below 42 degrees f.where i live that is 6 months of the year.i have extensive correspondence with chevrolet in which they admit the problem exists and that there is no fix for it so i am out of luck and innocent people will be killed and gm could care less. I will be happy to share this correspondence with you, and encourage it. This is absolute unmitigated arrogance ion gm's part and shows a callous and willful disregard for the lives of their innocent purchasers and bystanders and must be stopped.
I was driving on an interstate highway in the left lane.traffic caused me to brake hard and turn the wheel slightly to avoid collision.moments later, i get a low tire pressure warning.when i exit to a gas station, the tire has become completely flat and is off the rim.it is the front passenger side tire.the tire that received the most force from braking.it appears the force caused a break in the seal with the rim.subsequently the tire and possibly the rim were damaged.the car is a 2011 taurus with 700 miles on it.the dealership is already taking the position that this scenario could not happen unless the tire was already low on pressure such as from a puncture.i am stating the tire was not low on pressure before the braking incident.there was no low pressure indication until immediately after the braking incident.
Groove appeared onpart of inner edge of tires exposing belt. It only had the groove on about 1/3 of the tire , not all the way around like a wear or alignment problem. The tires havelots of tread except in this little groove. After the air was let out for replacement a finger probe of the area felt very soft like you could put your finger through it. (18,000 miles on a well maintained 2007 srt8 chrysler 300 with pressure warning system.)

Tread separation, goodyear f1 supercar tires. 4 failures out of 5 tires at approx 15,000 miles. These are top of the line tires 245/45zr20 . Oe on dodge srt 8 chargers and chrysler 300 srt 8 cars. My car has not been aggressively driven. Product reportsat tire rack and other feedback locations indicate this problem is very common. Considering that these tires are placed on high performance vehicles this type of failure is extremely dangerous. I have replaced the tires and kept two of them that exhibit this problem. The outer edge of the tire becomes slick while retaining significant tread depth elsewhere. The separation occurs on the inside edge. Goodyear does not honor warranty claims stating poor alignment or insufficient tread depth. Chrysler corp dealers have not found alignment problems and other brands of tires do not exhibit excessive instances of outer edge wear or tread separations as a typical condition when used as replacement tires on the same vehicle.

I have a 01' svt lightning. I along with probably hundreds others on nloc.net all report problems with the stock goodyear f1's @ correct tire pressure. They all split the sidewall. I've had about 7f1's split on my truck in with in the past year i've owned it. All of my splits were on the front. I can't speak for all the rest of the lightning owners on their tire locations. I also had a problem with those tires pulling my truck from side to side in the ruts in the road. I thought maybe it was normal for such wide tires. I run nitto tires on it now with no issues (splitting or pulling) what so ever. I no longer use any type of goodyear tires on any of my cars and truck. Kramer goodyear told me the last time that goodyear is aware of the problem and they'll prorate me a price on a new f150. After the 7th time i asked why would i want to keep buying another overpriced f150 over and over again that i know will split sooner or later and i'd be right back in here getting a prorated tire again? the 295/45/18 goodyear f1 is a defective tire and someone if they haven't already are going to be killed running these tires. Lightning are high performance trucks and most people that own them, race them. Ford should really cancel their relationship with goodyear(nascar should too). Goodyear is all about the name and their products are junk. It's amazing firestone gets in trouble but not goodyear.
Turning into a fast-food parking lot (about a 130 degree right turn), the left front tire struck a short (2" - 3") curb at about 3 - 5 mph.the sidewall, midway between the tread and the wheel rim blew out.a jagged "l" shaped breach section about 3" in total length was clearly evident.the edges of the tear were forced outward from the inside.the impact was so minor that even after immediately deflating there was no damage to the wheel rim.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge challenger equipped with goodyear eagle f1 supercar tires, size: 245/45zr20. While driving 45 mph, there was a vibration in the tires and the vehicle veered to the left. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was confirmed that all four tires were cracked above the sidewalls and the driver side front tire was flat. The tires were replaced. The tires were the original tires. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dot number was unknown. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 20,100.

Replaced tire because of screw in tire.upon replacement i found out the tire only had 3/32 of tread life remaining. Goodyear eagle f1 p245/45 xr18 had less than 10,000 miles and was oem equipment on 2005 cadillac cts-v. Excessive tire wear on a 1-year old vehicle is unacceptable and prone to fail because consumers are unaware of such minimal tire life.
