Vehicle's tire had sidewall failure and would not hold air.*mrwhile driving, the consumer noticed a slight pull to the left.another motorist informed the consumer that his left front tire was flat.the consumer was told the tire could not be repaired.later in themonth the consumer experienced another tire failure on the left front tire on the sidewall where a buldge the size of softball was located.in dec of 2003 the consumer experienced the same failure.
They bought a set of tires and one went flat. The manufacturer admits a defect but will only replace one tire instead of the set because the others have not gone flat yet.
I had originally purchased goodyear aquatred3 tires for my honda civic, on janurary 24,2004. In the time that the tires were purchased until the first tire issue, i had only put about 1000 miles on the tires. On march 13, 2004 i was driving along the freewayin the fast lane. The front driver side tire blew out due to sidewall failure of the tire. This caused the hub cap to disinigrate as well as bending the rim. Upon getting the tire placed with another goodyear aquatred3, i moved the driver side rear tire to the drivers side front, and replaced the bent rim with a new rim and had that tire and rim installed on the drivers side rear.on march 26, 2004 the tire that was moved to the drivers side front, had developed a tennis ball side ballon on the side wall, luckily i had felt the car start to shake and pulled over before i had another blow out. I am now having all the tires replaced.
I purchased 4 new goodyear aquatred 3 tires on nov,21 2001. Approximatly sept. 9 2003 with 36k on the tires the left front tire went flat on the freeway. The goodyear store showed me the failed side wall and the tire would not hold air.i received a 50% adjustment . The left rear tire was put on the left front and the new tire on the left rear. On oct. 1 2003 while on the freeway i felt a vibaration in the steering wheel followed by a flapping noise. The inside of the left front tire balloned out the size of a soft ball. The tire store adjusted the tire. On or about dec.15 2003 the right front tire failed the same way on the freeway there was a large bulge on the outside side wall. I called goodyear customer relation they were not concerned and said there is nothing wrong with the aquatred. The dealer said he will try to adjust out the remaing good tire the recent failed tire and the two new tires, but would have to get authority from goodyear they could not give me a time table the auto is reqired in my work and i refuse to put goodyear on the car. I went to adifferent tire store and junked the two new aquatreds and purchased 4 pirells.
Cracks along the sidewall were noticed on all four tires. Tires have less than 20k. 1990 dodge caravan.
We purchased four goodyear aquatred 3 tires in september 2000.since that date, three of the tires have failed (in september and december 2003; and march 2004).all three tires experienced a failure (a blowout) involving the sidewalls of the tires.we believe the high rate of failure in the sidewall area indicates a manufacturing defect.luckily, we were able to regain control of our vehicle during each of the blowouts, as we were traveling on an interstate highway at a high rate of speed on each occurrence.since the date of original purchase, we have placed only 33,101 miles on our vehicle to date.the aquatred 3 has an 80,000-mile warranty rating.
Heard about tire problems and checked tires on vehicle. Noticed thatbelt edge was separating with 40,000 miles. P195/70r14 on 1992, oldsmobile, cutlass.
Vehicle was going 60-65mph and left front tire shredded into pieces , consumer had no warning. Tire was on the rim in a matter of seconds. Aftermarket new tires, size p195/70r14 with approximately 20,000 mileson them.goodyearclaimedincident was caused by a road hazard. Consumer was not offered any compensation.
Both blowouts had the appearance (to a non-expert) of a tread separation problem. (dot number: mkm3 trhrtiresize: p215/70r)
Goodyear, aquatread, 205/65r15,dot# mdup3mhp4301. All four tires are wearing on the outer edges. There is only 28,000 miles of tread wear on the tires.the vehicle has been completely aligned however, the tires continue to wear excessivelyon the outer edges.ownercontacted the manufacturer and is still waiting for a response.the consumer felt the tire were unsatisfactory in rain or wet roads.the vehicle would slide and skid in wet weather.
After 31,000 miles, 4 goodyear aquatread tires developed feathered tread blocks on all 4 tires. This resulted in road noise from the tires that was similar to that of all 4 wheel bearings failing simultaneously. The noise was so loud that normal conversation in the vehicle was not possible and any emergency signals such as sirens or horns could not be heard. I believe that prolonged exposure would have lead to hearing loss. The dealer where the tires were purchased could find no excuse for the tires doing this so he refused to honor the tires warranty based on my not having him rotate the tires on schedule. Even though i informed him that i had rotated the tires myself and that i had found many postings on internet sites detailing the exact or similar failure on these specific tires. I sent a email message to goodyear customer service. Their reply was that there was little they could do to control what their dealers do. I was forced to replace the tires at another dealer at my expense. It seems that the only warranty goodyear honors or the only defects they are interested in correcting are ones the judge says fix.
