Have had three sets of goodyear fortera tires -rapid wear - 60,000 mile warranty and wearing out at 15-18000 miles.company indicated that the tires are made of soft rubber and made to wear out early.
These are my second set of goodyear fortera tires. They are rated for 60 thousand miles and i have gotten 20,000 to 25,000 when they became severely cracked .
My 2008 jeep/gr.cherokee has goodyear-forteratires on it. I have noticed that the tread around the sidewall has 2 different directions. One turns slightly forward and the other slightly to the rear. I have tried to contact goodyear who hands me back off to jeep for an explanation.upon my most recent tire rotation,i pointed this out to the head mechanic. He replied it does not matter,it does not serve any purpose. I disagree. I don't think they put them on there for no reason..i have taken the truck to a goodyear tire dealer and he said the tread pattern is supposed to push water away from the vehicle. I walked the man around the vehicle and showed him thatboth ties on the right side of the vehicle face forward while the 2 tires on the left face the rear.shouldn't they all face the same direction? i have seen these tires on the honda/pilot,g.m.c./traverse,ford/explorer and ford/edge. I have asked other drivers about it,but no one has noticed until i spoke on it. I find it hard to believe that nobody else seems to see a potential problem here. Please help me-i have taken pictures of this situation and would be glad to send them to you.i can't possibly be only one who notices this.
While traveling at about 30-mph on smooth pavement i experienced tire failure. No road hazard was noted. When i removed the failed tire i was shocked by the extent of side wall deterioration at the bead and the perpendicular site wall separation. While traveling at highway speed of 70-mph on smooth pavement i experienced a tire blowout. No road hazard was noted. The tire exhibited significant side wall deterioration at the bead and the perpendicular site wall separation. Goodyear fortera tires cracked between the treads (all 4 tires) tire size: p255/65r18 installed on2014 gmc acadia sle 2 4dr suvvin:[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
While driving tire went suddenly flat and tire shredded (2nd time one of my ford explorers went flat or low pressure). Took tire to a dealer was not notified of any recalls or known valve stem problems. Wanted to charge too much for replacement ,so took tire to 3rd party vendor and had it replaced for $204.50. They also did not inform me any stem issues at the 3rd party...............to date 12/03/08 had another low pressure signal went straight to the closest tire shop. It was there they informed me of a known ford valve problem cracking. Replaced 3 stems which 2 were cracked the 3rd one was not. The forth i left alone due to being replaced already by 3rd party vendor back in september.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep grand cherokee equipped with goodyear fortera hl (p) tires, size: h245/65/r17 (na). While the vehicle was at a stop, it was brought to the contact's attention that the threads on the sidewall of the front passenger side tire had separated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who confirmed the separation and diagnosed that the tire needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unavailable. The vehicle failure mileage was 65,000 and the tire failure mileage was 5,000. The dot number and vin were unavailable.
