Dry rot on both tires and belt shift on one. Serviced due to vibration in tire and defects found at that time. Tires were put on in may 2000 and had 35, 000 miles on them. Only 18 months old. (tiresize: p215/70r15)

Sidewall of tire "melted" at highway speed during hot temperature.general tire replaced tire with new model of xp2000gt.i still have 3 of the old tires on my minivan, and am leary of thier reliability. Old tire tpc spec 1135ms.new tire tpc sec 1144ms.i urge gm to choose a safer tire to install as original equipment.no one was injured in the accident, but there was a definate chance of a major accendent or loss of life happening due to the tire failure.the tire did not "blow out"the actual sidewall rubber appeared to shear off and the rubber changed composition to resemble that of "bubble gum".the melted rubber coated the steel wheel as well as the plastic wheel cover.only an industrial strength bug & tar remover could clean off the melted rubber.unfortunately, i can not locate the paperwork associated with the replacement, but i did take photos of the damaged tire.( dot number: tire size: p215/70r15 )
Sidewall separated from tire at 65mph on i-4.other 3 tires, show signs of separation.tires have been rotated per manufacturer'srecommendations. (tiresize: p21570r15)( dot number:tire size: p21570r15 )
Upon washing my 2002 pontiac montana minivan today, i noticed that the right front tire (general xp2000 gt - p215/70r15) has approximately 14 inches of sidewall separation.i commute 2 hours to work each day on the interstate and would not have noticed this if i had not been washing my tires.my husband inspects the tread and air frequently. I shutter to think what may have happened to me or any of my four children had this gone undetected.i bought this vehicle last fall from a used car dealership.my husband specifically asked the dealer about the tires and was told that the vehicle was gm certified and had at least 50,000 miles worth of wear left on them.
Sidewall completely disentergrated at 60 mph on interstate. Rotated/balanced/good tread remaining. No cut / puncture.did not run over anything. (dot number: acrw2w5377tiresize: p195/70r14)
