Start vehicle put into drive, vehicle will suddently lunge forward (a sudden thrust) without touching the gas pedal. This happens atleast 95 per-cent of the time when vehicle is started. Vehicle has been taken to ashley ford, 395 mt pleasant street, new bedford, ma, 508-996-5611on more than one occassion, this last time 04/16/02 they stated that it was the transmission, and they ordered a new transmission, which is to be installed. On 04/15/02 auto was in my garage started it up put it into gear and it lunged forward almost striking my wife who was walking into the garage from the side, i park my auto facing the street, as i back it into the garage. I believe this is a serious problem have complain to ashley ford several times about this matter. I feel that it may be something else other than the transmission. (tiresize: p215/70rx-)

Shakes & vibrations in steering wheel & floor of vehicle, dealer has attempted to balance tires without much success.

I rented a 2003 pontiac montana van from alamo car rental in may, 2003.while driving home from arizona with four of my family members on a clear day, with good road condition, and within speed limit; the left rear tire had a blow out and resulted in a roll-over.the tire brand was general.eventhough the police informed alamo that the police needed to retain the van to investigate the cause of the blow-out, alamo insisted on retrieving the van.they did not respond to my written or phone requests for access to the tire and proceeded to salvage the van.not only that but the second van alamo sent to me at the accident site had low air pressure on all four tires and convexities on the sidewall of the front passenger tire.from searching your site, i found that vans have a higher roll-over rate than passenger cars.furthermore, there have been incidences of sidewall bubbles and convexities as well as tread separation of general tires (in one situation, even while the vehicle was parked).my wish is for alamo to have better safety inspection of its vehicles and to remedy its questionable business practices.

I have chevrolet colorado, 2004 standard cab.the left reat tire blew and i mean blew while i was driving down the freeway.i don't think i hit a thing, but the tire literally popped.it took the dealer over 2 weeks to get a tire in because they were out.if they are going through this many tires there has to be a problem.

My daughter, while traveling on interstate highway s.w. Loop 410 at a speed of approximately 60 miles per hour, heard a loud thumping noise from the driver side rear tire. She stopped the vehicle (1995 ford windstar) to investigate.she observed that the tread had partially separated from the tire carcass and the tires separated steel belt was flapping against the inside of the wheel-well causing considerable damage. I took the car to a local reputable repair shop for an estimate. They said the repair cost would be from $1,000 to $3,000. *la
