I have owned my 2005 chevrolet colorado 4 door 4x4 since nov. 2004 i have had tires that puckered, 3 radios installed, blower motor switch replaced 1 time and is now out again, a leak in the fire wall that has been in 2 times to be fixed and still leaks in hard rains, a defective brake light switch. And the worst gas mileage of any vehicle i have owned in the past 30 years. My 71 monte carlo with a 400 big block and3:73 rear end gears got better gas mileage. Chevrolet said to wait till it had about 10,000 miles well it has 52,000 and still can't get past 16.5 mpg. And only 11 if towing anything. The radio has been fixed and the brake switch replacedi still have leaking fire wall and very poor gas mileage. I drive a nice straight shot 71 miles one way with only 2 stop signs between start and finish of my drive each day for a total of 140 miles of pure open interstate driving in a rural area! shame on you chevrolet!

Took my truckin for tire rotation and check alignment on 3/12/2005.maintenance is current. Turns out both front tires (general tire 235-75r15) were worn down to the steel belts on the inside edges only, with the steel belts actually sticking out in there.i do no off-road driving- only to and from work 2 miles daily on the highway and an occasional trip on the highway to fort collins (260 miles round trip once per month) - and these tires only have 15,000 miles on them.was told by mechanic we were very lucky that these didn't blow on us on the highway.also, mechanic reported that there is a left front axle seal leak. Took the truck into dealer on march 18 for repair, but dealer did not preorder parts, so i must return this week.i went ahead and had the tires replaced in spite of the bumper-to-bumper warranty because i didn't dare wait.i also had an alignment.(my first alignment check showed no problems in october.) the tire thing really disturbs me because, in 36 years of driving both new and used cars and trucks, i've never had this happen.i've never had an axle seal leak in a reasonably new vehicle either.

I get a grinding noise coming from brakes when i am braking real quick in an emergency situation. I don't know if it is the tires or the brakes.

I own a 2006 chevrolet colorado with 14,000 miles on it. I have taken my truck to the dealer on at least 5 occasions complaining of a terrible vibration. The vibration is horrible from 40-55+ miles per hour. The dealer has so far replaced the 2 front tires, replaced the air inside the tires, rotated the tires and most recently stated there is nothing else they can do. After the last visit, i said there is something wrong with the truck and you or gm are going to have to step up and do something. This is my only transportation and i am very nervous about driving the truck with this terrible vibration. Please let me know what else i can do. I think a recall is in the cards, either to replace the all the tires or make modifications to the truck frame, etc.

We feel that 2006 chevrolet colorado pickup we purchased has a defective front end.front tire inside tread wore off at 10,000 miles.at approximately 22,000 miles is doing same thing. Front end is pigeon toed??dealer says it is because we didn't rotate tires. We don't believe them!! our mechanic doesn't either!!we think it is a defective front end!

I have a 2008 chevy colorado with 28 thousand miles on it. In the last four weeks three of the amerisg60 general tires had the tread separate. The fourth will most likely go this week.

My 2005 canyon has only 258 miles on it and the truck wobbles/shakes at any speed above 45mph. I thought maybe it was just me but there are multiple on the canyonfans.com webs that are having the same problem.

(1) side wall / tread wear(2) & (3) tire rotation of unworn tires, unworn tires also began to wear after rotation.

While driving 70 mph front driver side tire blew out.as result, the vehicle was damaged over $1000.00.*la

Driving at highway speed, `75 mph, sudden load noise.saw part of tire fly away from vehicle.pulled off road and found that entire tread on front driver side tire had separated from the body of the tire.tire remained inflated.

Failure(premature tread seperation) on 07/24/2005 at 10:30 pm my husband and i were in our 2003 ford windstar( on hwy 65) when we eperianced a blow out, we were traveling at the posted speed and there were no obstructions in the road. Upon investigation of the tire ( ameri gs60 p215/70/r15)we discovered complete seperation of tread right down the middle of the tire(causing damage to gas spicit, a rear water line, bumper damage, complete removal of the d-side rear wheel well shield) we found this odd because tire had much tread left also tires were rotated at local wal mart only less than 6-months

I own a 2004 chevrolet colorado and i am experiencing a shake due to the tires heating up/cooling off, and getting flat spots from that.

The contact owns a 2000 chevrolet silverado 1500 equipped with general ameri 660 as tires (na), size: p255/70r16 (na). While driving approximately 50 mph, there was a loud thump sound near the rear driver side tire and the contact lost control of the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over and observed that the tread separated from the rear driver side tire. The vehicle was taken to an independent dealer where it was diagnosed that the tread separated. The tire was not replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 93,000 and the tire failure mileage was 15,000.

On august 17th, 2006, while driving 65 mph on the new york state thruway in the passing lane, i felt a severe vibration in the rear of my 2005 buick lesabre.soon after, there was a very loud thumping and banging on the driver side and the car lurched upward.while struggling to maintain control of the vehicle, i was finally able to make my way to the right shoulder.i then discovered that the tread has separated from the casing and the shredding rubber caused extensive damage to the wheel well, bumper, paint, rear sensory wiring harness, and leveling control to the left rear shock.the tire never lost air and there were no punctures and the tire was only half worn and rotated on a regular basis.the tire was a general ameri-gs60.

I have been trying to contact your department since nov. Of last year via the us mail system. Each time my letter has been returned.first reason was "not at dot headquarters", the second reason given was "insufficient information"..the address i have been given by folks answering your phone number was "national highway traffic safety administration 400-7th street washington, dc 20590"after the second return i visited my post office to inquire about the return of undelivered mail. The answer given, to my surprise, was that the us postal department does not have a listing for you at that address.in their eyes, you are not there.got to be a problem somewhere.so i ask again, what is your official mailing address?my event is too long to be fully described in this format as there is as much as 10 incidents relating to single topic.the incident listed below on 8/19/05 was the next to last and caused property damage.the information being given is also referenced to the 8/19/05 incident only.four of the incidents are the failures of the four original tires that came factory equipped with the vehicle.

I have a 2006 chevy colorado. Still practically brand new with only 26,000 miles on it. I began experiencing bad vibration while driving and took it back to the dealership nerly two weeks ago. They said the tire tread is worn and the tires could blow at any minute. The general ameri gs60 tires are supposed to have a 80,000 mile warranty yet no one is standing behind this warranty. Neither the dealership or general themselves. How do i get this issue resolved? my tires have been rotated according to schedule... There is no reason these two front tires should be the way they are!

225 75 r15 general ameri-gs60 tires, all 4 tires are separating on the out side tread and the first and second tread bands. These tires are standard equipment on my 2005 chevy colorado. The tire were made 0505. The truck had a bad vibration as the tread began to come apart. I told my dealer and he ordered replacement tires. This happen with 3057 miles on the truck.

While driving 70 mph, the consumer felt a severe vibration on the drivers side of the vehicle.soon after there was a loud explosion on the same side.after pulling over to the shoulder, the consumer discovered thattread separated from the tire.the tread damaged the left front fender and the headlights.the remaining three tires showedsigns of tread separation. *sc
