The tire in question, drivers side front, without notice completely deflated causing the vehicle to go out of control at approximately 50 mph, spin out, go through the median and into the opposite lane.on the inside of the tire (side closest to the engine), the sidewall of the tire had been completely removed from the tread. Note: tire type is a zri which is not listed a choice in the database.
The contact owns a 2006 chevrolet tahoe equipped with fuzion xti tires, size: p265/70r17. The contact stated that all four tires were experiencing tread separation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was confirmed that all four tires needed to be replaced. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle and tire failure mileage was 114,015.
