Tire sidewall blowout, firestone wilderness. Door plate shows 30 psi, tire shows 44 psi, difference of 14 pounds--too much difference.
My 9 year old son and i took a trip up north to sd. On our first day out approx. 70 miles away form the border the driver side tire's tread flew off causing my 2000 nissian truck to vere in front of an oncoming semi truck. We avoided the collision and removed the damaged tire. This was the second time that it has happend. This time we were moving at a speed of 70 miles per hour and the tread came back on the truck, scratched the front quarter panel with the steel sticking out, tore of the metal bar holding the fender on, tore the fender half way off and dented the underside ofthe driver side door. About a month earler the passanger side tire did the same thing. I was moving at a lower rate of speed and no damage occurred that time.the next day we replaced the tire with a used one from a local tire shop and continued our journey. Two days later on our vacation i lost the rear passanger tire in the same fashion. We again made it to a tire shop where they replaced the tire with a used tire. By this time someone had told me that the firestoen tire were recalled because of the reason that the tread comes off. I had the tire shop remove my last remaining firestone wilderness tire and replace the back tires with a matching set.

Tires on 2002 gmc yukon xl firestone wilderness p265r70-16 are cupping and are worn out. 26000 miles. Gmc dealer says it is tire defect, firestone dealer says it a design defect in vehicle. Firestone dealer says they see numerous cases of premature tire ware due to design defect in vehicle front suspension. Need assistance in resolving issue of defect tire vs vehicle.*la
I bought this tire from a firestone company. I was driving on the i-60 east coming from work. All of a sudden i heard a loud noise and immediately my car started to shake violently. It went out of control, stirred to the left and hit the highway separator (a concrete road block). The front of my car directly went crash into that concrete barrier in a perpendicular position, making a full frontal contact, that release both front airbags. My windshield cracked and my front car area is totaled.i came out of there with neck, head, back and chest injury.
