I have sent firestone all that they requested me.the failed firestone tire along with a cd with all the pictures of the tire as well as two estimates to get the car fixed.the top estimate to repair the car was for $1380.00.i sent it through fed-ex with the mailing instructions on the cover of the box.you could not have received the tire with out the box because the mailing instructions were on the along with the cd and the estimates!!therefore, one of your employees had to have received thecd and the estimates with the box, which contain the failed firestone tire.you stated in your correspondence that you do not possess those documents.the only way you could not possess those documents is if you lost them!!!because they were taped with the mailing/delivery instructions on the outside of the box!!!if thecd and the estimates were lost enroute, then the mailing/delivery instructions would have lost too because they taped together with them and you would not have received the tire either.that is not the case as you state that you have the tire.but they were inseparable.you had to have deliberately thrown away the cd and the estimates after you took delivery of the box containing the failed firestone tire!!! i can only conclude that you are trying to deny the claim by denyingthat you received the evidence which i clearly sent you. Had to had received both if you received one or the other.again the two or three items were inseparable.therefore, i am requesting you send me a check for $1380. 00 immediately plus the cost of the replacement tire, which i will let you figure out for yourself.send it to;[xxx].should you need to contact me further, you may call me at [xxx].i will send a copy of this letter to the consumer protection agency and to the bitter business bureau if you fail to comply with my request.*lainformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

P23570r16 ms. Heard a thumping sound in rear driver's side tire. Slowed down and started to pull over when the tire delaminated.

Last summer (2000) my family and i were driving from merced, ca to santa cruz, ca for vacation.the temps were around 100 degrees.i have a 1997 f-150 xlt extended cab with wilderness ht tires and approximately 22,000 miles.the right rear tire sidewall separated from the tread and blewout. I purchased another wilderness ht tire in santa cruz for a replacement.this was about one month before the recall of the wilderness at tires.this year during the same trip and same conditions and about 27,000 miles on the same truck we arrived in santa cruz and i noticed the right rear tire had a large chunk of tread missing and the steel belt was exposed.this was along the side of the tire near the sidewall. I examine the left rear tire and noticed a crack forming in the same area. I had placed the new tire purchased in 2000 on the front of the truck with the spare and the tires on the back were original equipment tires.i still have the tires and photographs of the separation. My complaint is on a firestone wilderness ht 11 tire, size p235/70r16.dot #w2081pt216 .while driving from silver point,tn. To cookeville,tn.via interstate-40,the rear passenger side tire began separating in the same manner as the wilderness at tires which were recalled in 2001.there was no accident at this time but,at the same time there could have been.i need to know if there was such a recall or investigation of this brand of tire as was with the above mentioned.thank-you for your site.have a great day.harold houston.

Tread separation at high rate of speed causing loss of control and damage to wheel well.(dot number: w2081pt036tiresize: p235/70r16)

Had just gotten off of the interstate after about an 8hr drive, all on the interstate, 65mph avg speed, when i began to notice a strange vibration and associated strange thumping sound. Pulled over to the side of the road and realized that the passenger rear tire had gone flat.called aaa and the replaced with the spare.upon inspection of the tire to determine the cause of the flat it was discovered that a section of the tread, about 5 inches, had peeled away from the tire core.the 3 remaining tires were checked for proper inflation and were all found to be in the 35psi range.weather was sunny and in the low 90s.also the remaining tires were inspected for any signs of failure and numerous cracks between the tread area and sidewall were noted and all tires were replaced. There was an estimated 50% of original tread remaining.

Motor on rear windshield wiper has gone out 3 times. Local ford dealership has replaced it twice but refused to replace it a third time. They say fmc will not replace the rear windshield washer motor on this particular make of vehicle until they can find.( dot number: )
