This is for a new toyota sienna van. The steering has always had a shake in it from day one. Dealer checked tires for flat spots. Found one bad tire and replaced. Shake still there.took the van to another tire store to have balaces on tires checked and they were not balanced properly. Had tires re-balanced again. Shake still there. Dealer then checked steering componants and found nothing wrong. Dealer then rotated and re-balanced tires and stated that the shake may work its way out with some additional mileage put on the tires after the rotation. Was advised to go ahead and take van on vacation and see how it goes. After vacation mileage of 1600 miles, shake still there. Dealer re-inspects and finds an inner tie-rod defective(left side). Toyota sends a whole new rack and pinnion sterring system to be replaced. Dealer completes work but says they didn't replace right side outer tie-rod because the defective tie-rod was on the left side. Next day the shake still there. Back to dealer for mechanic to test drive. He states there is a definate shake in the steering but doesn't know why. So they have my van again today for the fourth time to try and figure it out.

I bought a set of new firestone destination at 285-75-r16. On july 24, 2007. Were i bought the tires they didn't have road hazard, and we didn't know that till they all ready had them on. The cost of those were $673.52.on november 5, 2007 i had a blow out going to work with one of the tires in front and i had to buy a brand new one. To replace that tire, it cost me $155.06 for a new one, and they would not give us a road hazard on that one sense we didn't buy it from them. Then on january 22, 2008 i had another flat blow out, on the back tire. It cost me at a firestone place $262.39 to replace the tire and they said they would honor the road hazard for all 4 tires. So now that i have road hazard i probably won't have another blow out. So my question is, is their a recall with firestone destination at tires? or is their any other person having a problem with these tires?

It happned on a dual wheel, so did not have much trouble keeping it under control. (tiresize: 225/75/r16)( dot number: tire size: 225/75/r16 )

I went in 2004 for a car inspection at 15000 miles and i failed due to bald tires.

On 2/25/2000 i bought these tires at sears auto center in findlay ohio. They have not maintained the correct air presure. I have to put air in them every other day . They are not safe to drive on because they are constantly loosing air pressure. I have been back to sears on 4/21/2000,6/14/2000,7/10/2000 and they said they would take a look at them and each time the tires continued to loose air presure. On 9/22/2000 i went to sears again and they said they would look at the tires. I said that you have already looked at them 4 times and they continue to leak and i wanted to know what they were going to do about it. They asked me what kind of tires they were and i told them firestone response. They said that firestone is recalling all of their tires and that i should contact firestone myself. I checked on the firestone web sight and these tires are not included in the recall. None the less they are defective and unsafe. I need some help at getting these tires replaced before they cause an accident. Sears wont stand behind them and they aren't in the recall. Spare tire failure.tt

On july 8, 2012 traveling south on i-81 my enclosed trailer suffered a blowout of a towmax radial tire, 225/75r/15 load range e. The trailer is a 24' with (2) 5200lb axles and carrying a 3800lb car with an additional 400lbs of luggage and equipment. The towmax tire was inflated to 80psi per the sidewall instructions. It had a tread separation. The tread came off the tire and as it rotated, beat a hole in the floor of the trailer and tore up the fender and some exterior trim. I purchased 4 towmax radials on 08/09/11 for this trailer. The tire was less than a year old with approximately 2000 miles on it. The firestone dealer said there was no mileage warranty nor defect warranty on the tire. I replaced it with another brand. On 8/12/2012, the same trailer suffered a tire blowout of another branded towmax tire. This tire had approximately 3200 miles on it and was also inflated to 80psi per the sidewall instructions. This was on i-75 and the failure was also a tread separation. I have saved this tire for inspection. The damage this timewas more extensive than the previous blowout. I have not replaced this tire yet, but will replace with another brand. Estimated trailer damage - $2500.to summarize, i have had 2 tire blowouts of the same brand tires that are one year old with 2k and 3k miles on them respectively. The failures are in the same areas of the tires being tread separation. I believethese are defective tires and should be investigated for possible recall or removal from the market.

The double plug happened within in a week of purchase, the tread missing was on the spare right away, which we share now driving on. (tiresize: 16)( dot number: tire size: 16 )

2003 saturn l300 has firestone tiresthat are dry rotted.*njthe consumer stated the vehicle came equipped with 5 tubeless radial firestone tires which carried a manufacturer's date of 2002. Yesterday, the consumer noticed the right front tire had a gap around the circumference of the face of the tire where it joined the treads.

I have a 2001 civic with 54,000 miles on it.the civic came with firestone fr690 tires -- p185 65 r15serial # w2fpf9h2500 (for 3 tires) and w2fpf9h2400 for the other tire.i still had the orginal set of tires at the time of the incident.i was on the expressway going about 65mph when the sidewall on the front driver side tire blew out.when i took it to the firestone dealer he could not find any puncture or other defect with the tire.he inspected the remainder of the tires and noticed that the inside sidewall on every one of them was separating from the tire.he replaced all of my tires free of charge even though the existing tires were almost all worn down.he did not prorate the replacement; just gave me them for free; in fact he gave me a better brandaffinity lh30 (not hard to do).my personal feeling is that this tire should be recalled.it's defective.

The contact owns a 2001 cadillac sts equipped with firestone radial tires, size t125/70r/16 and dot: hyw6h5d2100e4. The contact stated that the spare tire had exploded while in the trunk. The recall information on your website says the firestone radial atx 235 75r15 tires(including spare) are included in the recall.i have contacted firestone personally twice(dealer), by e-mail twice, and by phone once.all have said my tire is not under recall because it is a spare tire.i am asking you if there is some action i can take to have my spare replaced by firestone. --thanks (tiresize: 235 75r15)

I'm having a problem with firestone tire company. A defective tire blew on my son's ford van. The thread separated completely. My son was able to drive home on the fabric of the still inflated tire. The tire was replaced free by the local firestone dealer because it was obviously a defective tire. When the tire blew, the flying rubber thread caused damage to the vehicle. The side view mirror was destroyed, front bumper was loosened plus other minor cosmetic damage. Damage was $281.36. I went to the local firestone dealer right after the incident because i wasn't comfortable driving without a spare tire. I had the damage repaired quickly because driving without a sideview mirror is a hazard and the bumper was loose which is dangerous. After the damage was repaired and the tire replaced, i sent a letter to firestone asking for reimbursement of the damage. I discovered i sent the letter to the wrong division of firestone. I finally found who at firestone to contact about paying for the damage and they said they needed the defective tire before they could consider reimbursement. Of course, the tire was long gone. Nothing was said to me at the time on tire replacement of any requirement to retain the defective tire. Culpability for the damage had been established when the tire was replaced free by the local dealer.on november 27, 2006, i sent copies of the firestone work order for the tire replacement, two estimates for the damage and photos of the damage along with my request for the reimbursement of $281.36.as of this date, firestone has not seen fit to respond to my letter. I feel that their requirement to ship the defective tire is just a sham to avoid any liability and that the determination by the local dealer that it was a defective tire should be sufficient proof.the name and address of the agent handing this matter is:bfnt, llc1102 appletonnashville, tn 37210the reference number of my incident is 840173.

While driving vehicle began to shake and steering wheel was off centered.consumer noticed that left front tire had indulged a large bubble with tread separation inside of it.therewas massive air from the bubble and tire.consumer replaced tire. Pe#000-40; passenger's rear tire tread had separated from tire, causing a blowout.separation occurred where tread met sidewall.ford truck, explorer 1993.the tire was not anoriginal tire. Tire was a lemans radial at firestone p225/75r15.

Front right tire completely fell off the wheel while i was driving on the freeway.the tires had only been put on 6 months prior, and they were not bald.my car spun out of control, and my hub cap rolled out into the middle of the freeway, causing a car to hit the back of a car in front of it.the tire looks as though it had been peeled off of the wheel.i'm scared to drive the car now. My rt. Front tire blew while i was traveling.even though i was going slow, there was enough force to take out a peice of my wheel cover & dent the front door.i had to replace it at t little tire store in the town it happened in.i replaced all the tires at the same time because the shop worker showed me a place on the left front tire that looked like it was separating too.at the time, i thought that a big-brand name like firestone shouldn't do that, so i replace it with another brand.i realized that if it had happened on the open highway at a high speed, i could have lost control of the car & i felt lucky.but it was costly & i still have the dent & peice if fender in my floorboard.i do not have the tires so i do not know any particulars about them, but the dealer should.i probably can get the tow service to attest to the fact that it did blow, he put on one of those little temporary tires & suggested a few shops i could try to get a tire at. Consumer states thatrear left tire blew out without warning. Dealer notified.

I had a set of firestone fr575,215/70r15,97smts tires on my town car,3 of the 4 were replaced due to tread or cord seperation which caused violent shaking of the car around town. While we were on a out of town trip the one that was on the right front started shaking then all of the tread 100% came off, the car headed for the ditch but i managed to keep it on the road. After i got stopped and put on the doughnut spare i saw the thrown rubber had beat the car up from the middle of the passenger door to the front bumper. I got most of the rubber marks off but it left bent up chrome trim and other damage.i have been driving for 31 years and have never had a passenger tire fly apart like that and now left with undoubtly several hundred or more dollars worth of damage and a scarry memory. Thank you so much for this site to file this complaintgene.

On june 17, 2016, i got into my 2004 toyota sienna xle-ims rampvan (joint toyota-ims, floor-lowered wheelchair van conversion with ramp). There was debris on the back seat (what in a non-ims sienna be the third-row seat). I saw tire belts sticking up from the tread of the spare tire. The tire had exploded and deflated, strewing debris from the ruptured tire belts and tread on the back seat. Note that in the ims version of the sienna, the spare tire is mounted on a bracket behind the back seat. Thankfully, no one had been in the van at time of explosion. The rupture of the tire could have been behind the head or neck of a passenger sitting in the left-rear position. The exploded spare tire is a firestone radial tempa spare, t155/80r17 101m. It is the original spare tire and was inflated to the specified 60 psi. I still have the exploded tire, which i had dismounted and replaced. I also have photos of the ruptured tired while it was still mounted to its bracket behind the back seat.

Problems with tires, saturn replaced all four <20,000 miles.unable to keep balanced.i had all of my documentation on number of times they had been balanced.still had problems, replaced two of them.still had problems, replaced two again at 36,000, i had to pay for one tire because there was a nail and they claimed road damage and that the wear was due to low tire pressure (so explain why other tire wore also), even though i had picked up the nail within the past 3 days.also said there was a dent in the rim and that was off balance.wanted 400.00 for one new standard rim.

I own a 1994 saturn, which i purchased in october 1993.the spare tire in the car has never been used.it still has the little bar things on it which stick up.i recently had to go out of town and checked the spare and other tires and when i opened the trunk and lifted out the spare, it had blown up.the rubber was shredded around the place it exploded.we talked to saturn about this and they said too bad essentially.so i thought i'd write to you.like i said, the tire has never been used.yes, i know its hot in phoenix, but just thinking about the danger i could have been in if i did notto check the tire and broke down on the highway leaves me kinda shaky.the tire is one of those smaller doughnut ones, # 1115 70r/14, radial tempa spare.i still have it.i had to purchase another one from saturn though, to be safe.i would appreciate your input on this.when you test these for quality control, do you expose them to high temperatures for prolonged periods of time?this probably does not happen very often, though saturn said they had seen a few of these.i would be surprised if they had not told you about it.thank you for your attention to this.betty gregar3623 e winchcombphoenix, az.85032602-971-7128october 7, 2003.

Traveling through the mountains of kentucky on a mild day - temp around 60, the left rear tire treads separated, causing the vehicle to immediately veer off of the roadway while traveling at the posted speed limit of 70 mpg.in appearance, the tread had a 2-inch wide by 1-inch deep by 2 foot long "gash" removed from the tire.all other tires had cracks deep into the sidewalls and were, as a precaution, replaced with a set of goodyear tires.the tire has been videotaped and photographed. A purchase of 4 firestone r4s tires was made for my 1986 chevy pick-up from the tinley tee tire company of deming, nm. A few months after the purchase two of the tires seperated and were replaced with a partial warranty from firestone. A few months later the other two original tires separated and were replaced with a partial warranty from firestone. Almost one year later another tire seperated and one went out of round. At this point i didn't want a replacement, i wanted a refund. Tinley tee tire company said no as did firestone so i went and bought another brand of tire somewhere else. All seperations occured at speeds between 65 and 75 mph. More accurate dates can be obtained with some research and i do have the last four tires; one seperated and one out of round.( dot number: )

Tread beginning to separate on 3 out of 4 tires. These are firestone fr 690 tires. I am in the process of replacing all four tires due to the significant tread separation. Firestone has offered a small credit to replace with same brand tires. I will probably not take the credit due to the fact that i am going to switch brands.
