I have a 1999 jamboree rv(class c). I have had several incidents with flat tires on the inside rear tire. These flats have resulted in severe damage to the coach. In the past 18 months we have had five flat tires on the inside rear. I have installed tire inflators that make checking the pressure and maintaining the pressure easier (thinking this was the problem). I check this prior to every use. We use the coach often and usually stay within a 80 mile radius. I have gone on three trips when the milage has exceeded 250 miles one way. It is on these trips that i have the problems. A few weeks ago on a trip to pheniox az. I had three flats, one on the way and two on the way back. The tire blows and the tread comes off. The whipping of the tread and the violent shaking has destroyed our rv. I contacted the sales person at the dealership who told me that the jamboree has a weight and balance and/or suspension problem. The result of this defect is the flat tires. He suggested i contact jamboree who tells me that they are not aware of any problem with this model and the dealer says it's not there responsibility.
Lost back tire tread on highway at 6:30am after we past a border patrol check point; second back tire blew out after two hours that we changed the first one.the first tire caused damages to my r.v. The r.v. Has 15,000 miles.tires size lt 225/75r 16.
My itasca spirit has had three(3) blow-outs in the same location, the back inside passenger tire. One causing major damage.finally, a company found that the bracket holding the air bag compressor only had one bolt holding it up instead of four. As a result the hanging bracket was scraping the tire. In 2010 there as a lot of damage to the floor in the bedroom and shower stall that had to be replaced plus the whole left outer side of the vehicle. A lot ofout of pocket money was spent on tires and repairs. A picture of the last blow out is available.

On march 26, 2003 my wife, our 2 grand children & i were traveling east on highway. 15. We were taking our grandkids back to their home in las vegas. We had a blow out on the right rear inside dual going about 60 mph. The blowout happened about est 40 miles from home.we called good sam rv service to change the tire and put on the spare. When we got to victorville we had to getanother spare so we found an american tire store and purchased a new tire.we then went on our way & about 20 miles west of baker california. In the middle of the desert we had another blow out on the left rear out side dual. Again we called good sam rv service to change the tire. Needless to say my 3 year old granddaughter was very upset and we hadto calm her down after each blowout. These blowouts really upset us and the grandkids didn't want to get back into the motorhome -they were very scared.the bowouts caused some damage to our new motorhome.our motor home is a 2000 lazy daze 30 ft. Class "c"est. Mileage on the motor home on the first blowout was about 8316 miles.on the second blowout the est. I was traveling e/b on i 40 west ofthe arizona state line in my 2000, 30' maverick motorhome. I was driving about 60 mph, with factory installed firestone steeltex r4s lt 225/75r16 tires, when the right rear inside tire blew with total tread separation. I immediately pulled over and observed a large hole in the storage compartment to the rear of the tire, a bent tail pipe, and damage to the outside compartment door.all tires appeared to be in excellent condition prior to the blowout.also, tires were regularly checked for recommended tire pressure, and only had 16,000 miles on them.i contacted firestone tire company on march 27th, 2003. I sent the damaged tire, which cost $68 to nashville, tn. At their requesti received a letter stating that the claim had been denied because the damage was caused by either a " pothole, object, curb, or something else," none of which occurred.i called norma davis and was told that they would not pay the $68 for shipping to them, but if i wanted the tire back, i would have to pay the shipping costs. I was traveling with my grandchildren and felt that these tires were unsafe and decided to replace all seven tires with dunlop tires.

While on vacation june 17,2005 in oregon we had about an 18 in. Piece of the tread separate from the tire resulting in a blowout on the right inside duel.we were driving our 2000 23 j chateau motorhome towing a jeep liberty.followed by our friends in another rig we were traveling north on highway 97 about a mile north of gilcrist oregon. The temp.was about 54 degrees and overcast.we were able to safely get off the two lane highway on to the shoulder.after un-hooking our tow vehicle with the help of an highway patrolman who stopped traffic we turned around and limped back to a gilchrist sevice station and had our spare installed. After returning home in vancouver wa. I took the damaged tire to a local firestone tire and sevice center.the person i delt with told me i would have to leave the tire so someone else could look at the tire to determin what would be done. After 4 days of waiting i was told that nothing would be done because they felt that it was caused by the tire being under inflated and it got hot.(b s) i then took the tire to an another (not firestone) tire dealer and he told me that that was possible but he didn't think that was the case. These tires have only 13,000 miles on them . The tires are the firestone steeltex lt 225/75r-16 m/t load range e . I will now have to buy all 7 new tires at a cost of about $ 1,150.00 because i wouldn't feel safe driving on these tires as they are starting to crack on the side walls.

Prepared for 10 day vacation from texas to south dakota via oklahoma, kansas, nebraska, returning via wyoming, colorado, new mexico. All tire verified inflated at 75 psi (within 10% of max upon departure. Tire had 80% tread left according to midrometer measurement when tires replaced after multiple blowouts. Tires were on 2000 coachman catalina class c 23 ft motorhome. First tire blew out causing severe damage to underside, storage compartments, and kitch cabinets on right side of motor home. Put on spare and with 15 miles a second tire blew out on inside left. This tire took out lp gas line to refigerator and hot water heater as well as severe damage to underside, storage compartments, and bathroom floor/cabinets. Within the next 100 miles, a 3rd tire started to separate but i was able to pull over before complete blowout. Unknown at the time was the rear brake lines had been compromised. The rear brakes completely failed by the time we reached denver, co. Very traumatizing experience and because of our remote location, we were unable to match replacement tires by size or brand. Through the grace of god we made it home safely and the rv is now at a dealership awaiting insurance estimate and repairs. Unfortunately, the insurance company wants the old tires so they can go after firestone for reimbursement but i did not want to carry them 2000 miles back to texas. Do i have any recourse through firestone to get new matching tires on the ground as well as the spare (7 tires total)?

Dt: contact stated the 4 firestone tires on2000 coachman, leprechaun model ss314 blew out. The motor home has a 1999 ford e450 chassis. Ton he first tire the entire belt came off, and hit the underside of the vehicle. On the second tire the steel wires came through the tread , but the belt did not come off. The third tire was the same as the second tire. The 4th tire had a 8'' inch tearon the sidewall. The tire had only 7,000 miles on it. Was sent off to firestone for an adjustment or replacement, and firestone refused to adjust or replace the tire because they said that coachman had put too much weight on the motor home, and that was the reason for the tire problem. They refused to give caller this reasonin writing. He had not talked to coachman. When the motor home had20,000 miles on it, consumer stated it started to shimmy badly. Took it in to have it aligned, and they told him the front end was so heavy, they had to send out and have custom made cams machined to do it.
In march 2003 a firestone steeltex tires failed on myitasca 29ft class c motor home.the tread came off in pieces with the tire remaining at 80 lbs following the separation (inside rear dual).on july 7, 2003 the opposite side inside dual tire also did the same thing.these were original tires with 30,000 when the 1st tire went and and 3400 miles when the second went...again maintaining the 80lb pressure.both were firestone steeltex radials lt 225/75r16 e.on both occasions a firestone dealer looked at the tires and saw there was no damage to the tire other than the separation.i sent the tire in to firestone for their evaluation and they said it wasn't the fault of the tire, and gave me several reasons what could have caused this, none of these occurred. After the second tire went, i replaced all tires with michelin lt 225/75r16 ltx m/s bw (n6hs). Speed for both occurrences was 55mph with 75 degree outside temperature.
While traveling at highway speed consumer heard a loud noise.the tread separated from thefront passenger's sidetire.consumerdid not lose control.
