On april 23, 2005 at approximately 2100 hours on interstate 59 south in rural alabama my daughter experienced a tire malfunction in my ford taurus.the tires tread totally disintegrated causing extensive body damage to the vehicle (approx. $1800).my own personal investigation of the incident site and tire along with the statements of the wrecker driver and body shop representative show that the tire was obviously defective.the damage to the tire is eerily similar to the defective suv tires recalled by firestone a few years ago.i am in the process of contacting the tire manufacturer to inform them of this problem and to seek reimbursement for the towing and repairs.tire information:lemans touringp205/65r15 m+sdot hyur lt4do5l

I brought my tire to a firestone dealer and they said that they weren't the tires that got recalled. But when i brought my tires to big o to have the damaged tire and right front tire replaced, they informed me that the tires were the defective tires. Although the tires had the lemans brand name on them, they are firestone made tires and have the same dot number as the tires that were recalled. As of today, firestone is not recalling any tires that do not have the firestone brand name on them. I felt that you should be informed that the tires made under firestone's private sector are defective as well and just because they don't have the firestone name on the side of the tire, it doesn't mean that the tires are not defective and have no need of recall.thankyou( dot number: vdhl tire size: p835/75r15 )

While drivingvehicle at 72 mph front driver's side tire blew out, causing the consumer to pull off the road.

Tire lost entire cap on interstate-luckily no one injured-damaged rear left bumper/have kept tire and tread-am contacting firestone service center today( dot number: hayevf7a tire size: 17s/70rs13 )

Reasonably new tires blew out on interstate 75 causingaccident, nearly fatal.luckily no other vehicles involved although vehicle transverse three lanes of traffic to get to the median and ended up facing oncoming traffic..extensive damage to the vehicle but no injuries. Obviously defective tires.

- the contact stated that she purchased a set of firestone tires that did not last longer than 10 days. When she returned the tires to the dealership, they said that they were not responsible because she didn't get an alignment when she purchased the tires.updated 01/31/07.

I was traveling on i-95 northbound on tueday, march 22nd near the hastings, florida exit.the tread on the lemans tire, p215/70r15 completely separated from the tire, the chevrolet venture van veered to the right, narrowly missing another vehicle.the tread was recovered, and saved, but it smashed the hoses that connect to the rear a/c compressor and also damaged my bumper ripping several bolts out.the man from aaa who changed my tire was amazed that i did not roll the van.he noticed fluid leaking out and checked to see if the gas tank was leaking.it was not.he thought it was either brake fluid or compressor freon.i did not hit any debris in the road and was going the speed limit of 65 mph.the tire pressure was 32 psi.the dot number on the tire is hym3 ltb 4100.there is also another code on the tire q09l.i will attept to go to the firestone dealer and see about repairs.after reading many firestone complaints on your web site, it seems to me that firestone dealers are trained to say that tread separation is caused by hitting debris so the don't have to pay for damage.i will let you know of my experiece with firestone franchise at 10553 san jose blvd, jacksonville florida 32258.
