I still have plenty of tread left on my tires, but i already replaced 2 and found out today i have to replace the other 2.one front tire had a bulge in it and i replaced both front tires.my back tire have a hump in them.which is going to cause them to wear faster .

Tire experienced a sidewall failure. Failure noticed following a short, slow speed drive. A hole was identified on the sidewall. Rubber on sidewall very soft at hole location. It seems a belt separation occurred. Tire is a firestone firehawk gta 02. Oem on 2006 nissan sentra (with aluminum rims). Size: 195/55r16 86h.

My 2007 hhr came brand new, with firestone firehawk gta tires.they are terrible.they don't adequately handle rainy roads, and hydroplane way too easily. I was 15-20 mph below the speed limit, in barely moderate rain, and hydroplaining.i have never had such a poorly performing set of tires before. They only have 15k miles on them, with even tread wear. Poor design.these are gta 3 tires, but there wasn't an option for that on this website, so i entered gta 2.

In april took car in for oil change and car making noises.repaired several warranty issues and also rotated and balanced tires. Since then have had a vibration sound and thumping 2 dealers tell me tires are chopped and need replacing first time at around 15, 000 miles and now at 18,000.how can this be.did have suspension warranty work done in april.bought car in 7/07 with only 65 miles on it.i have read on several forums that other caliber owners are having these same issues.i have two children and do not feel safe driving them in the car.also, the noise vibration level is horrible and you cannot even hear anything other than that noise.

My son was almost killed along with drivers on the freeway below the overpass he was on when a 2 week old tire blew and he instantly lost control of the vehicle.in viewing this tire, i found it to look as if it has dry rot all around it.little tiny holes underneath the treads all around as if eaten away by termites or something.for a new tire it is older looking than the other 6 month old tires.i know no one who would lab test the material, but in my gut something is very wrong with it.it blew from underneath a thick new tread that has no punctures on top.it is a firestone/firehawk p205/50r16, dot# w2w11tb0804.my car is a total loss, but my son made it through ok thank god.i took it to the dealer mgr i purchased it from and he outright disagreed and started to take the tire from me saying he would have thier lab test it, but i have little trust for thier lab.i need help in reviewing this.i have no car and i feel it is because of an accident caused by a defective tire.insurance does not pay comprable to the vehicle you had.i had only one last payment to go.my son and many other people could have been killed.buying tires is like a game of russian roulette with life and death.it seems we all just accept that fact.

The firestone firehawk gta-02 original tires that came with my 2001 ford focus zx3 have a defect in the sidewall.multiple large bubbles and small separations in the rubber of the sidewall are obviously apparent.this could result in a violent tire malfunction especially if traveling at interstate speeds.i contacted a firestone dealer and was told because there is no tire recall at this time, i would have to pay full price for new tires for the same tire made by firestone which will probably malfunction also.these tires are dangerous and there should be a recall.*la

Firestone, firehawk, p205/55r16, originalequipment ona 2000 nissanaltima. Consumer noticed front passenger tire had a bubble on sidewall, replaced tire at owner's expense.

The firestone firehawk gta-02 original tires that came with my 2002 ford focus zx3 appear to have a flaw.shortly after purchasing my focus, i noticed a "bubble" on the right front tire's sidewall.the other three tires have been fine over the past ensuing 21 months so i have to be believe that this one tire was flawed coming out of the factory.my ford dealer will not replace it without charging a full price since there is no known recall on this particular tire.yet, i see now through the nhtsa that there are several "sidewall bubble" complaints against this tire model.please add my complaint to the list, since i have driven a lot of cars over the years, and never saw a "bubble" pop up like this ....seemingly out of nowhere!tom.

On 5/27/03 during reg oil/filter/tire rotation at firestone,5417 mccardle, corpus christi,tx i was told one tire had a compression bubble"impact break on sidewall".i replaced it.on 5/29/03 another tire self destructed with no apparent reason.i replaced it (50% discounttires were firehawk gta-02(i do not have tires and do not see a dot# on the remaining two.i called firestone warranty, spoke to chuck and requested 2 new tires at no cost as i do not believe in coincedences and the safety issue. I said i paid for two and firestone should pay for two.he said he would call firestone cc. I called today 6/6/03 .he said he never called and had no memory of promising to make such a call. He ended by saying that firestone would not give me two tires he apparently does not have a screen for incoming as i had to retell my tale.his initial response was when firestone had complaints on the 99-2000 hawkeye, they voluntalily recalled and replaced- yea sure; voluntary vs. Administrative action. Please investigate and respond thank you arthur berman.

I have had bulges develop in the sidewall of two firestone firehawk gta 02 tires that came as original equipment on a 2003 focus zx3 hatchback.the first tire bulged at 3800 miles and the dealer reluctantly replaced that tire.now at 11,500 miles a second tire has a bulge in the sidewall.the first bulge i attributed to a manufacturing defect.now that the second tire has bulged, and many others report similar problems, i think firestone has another big problem developing.ford/firestone should be made to replace all of these tires at no cost.

Front wheel aloy rim is bent due to faulty firestone firehawk gta 02 205/50r16 tires with weak sidewalls. Tire has bubble on sidewall dealer stated firestone problem not ford problem. The dealer refused to replaced the tire and rim under the warranty because they believed the dented rim came from the vehicle hitting a rock or pothole. The bent rim caused the tire to have bubble on it. The dealer ultimately replaced the tire but not the rim. The new tire was good for about two weeks and while driving on the interstate it punctured and destroyed. The bottom line is that the firehawk tires have design flaws and should be recalled.

Bulge formed in the sidewall of the original firestone firehawk gta 02 tire, size 205/50r16, as provided as original equipment on my 2001 ford focus zx3. The bulge seemed to include the area where the steel belts join with the sidewall, so i had the tire replaced immediately for fear of a tread separation event. *nlm

My new jeep compass has a $120 optional full size spare. The car has 18" tires on the ground. The spare is a 17" tire. A couple of weeks ago i had a flat when i came out of work at 10:30pm in snow\ice storm and had aaa come and change it. Due to poor road conditions i had to have the 4wd engaged all the way home[33miles]. The esp system continually applies the brake on the smaller tire since the system senses it is spinning faster. I think this is hazardous to vehicle control on slippery road conditions. I believe this vehicle should be equipped with an 18" spare.

Visible tire separation on firehawk gta 02 p195/55r16 86h m+s.the tires were replaced with michelin all weather here at dr. Tire, hwy 21, beaufort, sc,29906. These tires would not have made the trip to charleston 80 miles away at the firestone dealer.we did not keep the tires.i am only offering this info as a courtesy to the rest of the planet, who may have the same tires.fortunately for my son and his family, he arrived for new year's without incident. I have photos of the faulty tire.all tires were replaced. The tire was split about 12 inches around where the tread interfaced with the sidewall and was separating.i did communicate with firestone consumer affairs, but since i didn't take it back to a firestone dealer, there was not much they could do for me. My husband followed him to the dr. Tire in the event there was a problem. We could not have driven the 80 miles to the firestone dealer. Ts

Rear end shake traced to belt separation of firestone firehawk gta02 tires fitted to 2002 ford focus zx3 from new. *la

Complete tread separation - i have the tread. (tiresize: p195/60tr1)

The car was equipped with the firestone firehawk gta-02 tires.it was fortunate that the tire when flat when i was parking.the tire exhibit the same problem with previous recall dated february 20, 2001.the belt was separating and air is leaking out.

Tread separation on firestone firehawk gta p205-50r16 tire.i was told byfirestone dealer # 591289 (johnstown, pa) that the tire was "cut" on the sidewall due to abuse.this tread separation is clearly due to a defect as if it were a "re-cap" in my opinion.i also had the tires looked over by an independent tire retailer who concurred with my suspicions.

Rear tires had "cupping" wear around the tread. Ford dealer said it was because i did not rotate the tires (front tires are ok). Firestone dealer used alignment instruments that showed the rear was out of alignment. Firestone, as do i, believe the car was not properly aligned coming off the assembly line. Firestone said that they had seen many focus models with premature rear tire wear problems. (tiresize: p195/60tr1)
