On june 13th 2005 my audi a6 2.7 t was serviced at desert audi here in las vegas. A 30,000 mile service was conducted (@28,256) which per their service menu included examining my tires, suspension and a visual assessment of alignment.on september 14th 2005 i had a low speed front passenger side tire blow-out.the tire actually completely tore apart on the inside wall of the tire at the tread margin.my vehicle was towed to the audi dealer and they indicated that they didn't sell tires, the closest tire store also found that the other front tire had an unusual wear pattern on the inside wall of the tire and recommended replacement. They told me my car was severely out of alignment, mileage 30,258.i took my audi back to desert audi and explained what had happened.without acknowledging how significant tire wear was not noted <3 months and < 2, 000 miles before, they assessed the alignment and told me there was no alignment problem and in their opinion i had some bad tires. Now the tires were the original tires that came on the vehicle, dunlop high speed rated tires sport 9090-235/45zr17-94y.the decision about which tires to put on vehicles sold or leased in the us in undoubtedly was made by someone or by a contractual arrangement; i certainly wasn't asked what tires i wanted on my audi.upon contacting the tire company that someone at audi decided to use and entrust the overall safety of the vehicle to, i expected some level of service and concern over what had happened. I made numerous phone calls (file# 792313, dunlop tire corp). Was sent over to a goodyear tire dealer and was again told that the problem was with my audi.thetire contractor dunlop/goodyear explained to me that the audifactory certified technicians don't know anything about car alignments and that they would need to check my alignment. The alignment was still fine, so they decided it was something i did and essentially refused to offer any viable solution.

On april 21, 2010, i took my wife's hyundai genesis in for servicing. The previous servicing was done at 8,936 and there was no wear problem involving any of the tires.the mileage on april 21 was 13,839; less than 5,000 additional miles.at this appointment i was informed that all four tires no longer met minimum tread standards for safe operation.in fact, areas of the tires had no tread at all and the dealer invoice stated that the "tires require immediate replacement."even though i have an extended warranty on this vehicle, i was informed that hyundai does not warrant the tires on the genesis.i expressed to the dealership that they had put my family's safety at risk -- with my wife driving our grandchildren around town on less than a measurable level of tread, posing a dangerous safety situation, with no knowledge of what was occurring to the rubber.the dealership, through its sales manager, did not want to address the safety issues involving its tires.the response was "it's not our problem."i believe it is hyundai's problem.after subsequently checking general websites, the tire issue is one they are aware of.however, they appear to be waiting until someone suffers a loss of control, a blowout, or an accident possibly resulting in a death before they take action.i believe hyundai of america and its dealerships:1. Are deceptive in their advertising practices. 2. Knowingly placing a defective product on their genesis vehicles. 3. Actions are fraudulent, since they do not disclose to consumers that they do not warrant the tires on the genesis. 4. Should be issues a "cease and desist order" involving these tires ( dunlop, sport 5000, p235/50r18). And5.the nhtsa fine hyundai for their civil, and potentially criminal, fraudulent conduct by knowingly violating national safety standards.additionally, i am making a claim to hyundai for reimbursement of the $736 i had to pay for new tires.(i kept the worn tires to prove my case.)

Treads separated on both front left and front right tires along on inside edge of each while driving on interstate 93 in nh. One threw cord, the other showed separation upon examination. Dealer [lakes region audi, gilford nh] checked inflation, at 31.2 and 31.4lb (recommended pressure is 32lb). Moderate tread wear (4/32in left?) after 30k mi. Dealer also performed re-alignment after new tires were installed, but found no serious problem (minor toe-in adj). This car is driven mostly in washington dc where it has been very hot recently, but these are temperature category a tires. Same failure on both front tires at same time suggests a possible manufacturing defect.

Failure of tires.

Dt: the consumers vehicle did not have a spare tire.the consumer experienced a blow out on a tire that was not suppose to go flat. The dealer said it would take a few days to get a new tire. Manufacturer advised the consumer to call the tire manufacturer. Dunlop tire was not helpful. The consumer said no one was qualified to fix that kind of tire, and no one carried it in stock in his area. Dunlop run flat tires #sp4000, pooh/.the vehicle was equipped with run flat tires, however when the consumer attempted to drive on the tire, it blew out. The consumer stated it was obvious one could not drive 100 miles on the tire as stated in the owners manual.

My motorcycle's front tire developed a very large blister approximately 2" wide by 7-8" long by 2" high this type of failure of the tread could easily be disastrous on a motorcycle. I've attempted to make contact with someone from dunlop about this defect with no response.

2003 bmw 330xi. Consumer writes in regards to spontaneous catastrophic tire failure *tgwthe consumer stated the tire failure occurred on his daughter's vehicle in may of this year. The entire sidewall of the tire failed, creating a void around the outside circumference of the tire, about mid-way between the bead and tread lines.the consumer stated it appeared the sidewall piles simply gave way and without that internal structural integrity, the tire suddenly lost air. The consumer took the vehicle to a local discount tire store for an inspection. The technician did not observe any road trauma or external reason for the sudden failure. The tires were virtually new.the technician concluded, the failure was due to a manufacturing defect on dunplop's part. Dunlop refused to investigate the failure, because the consumer was not the original purchaser and the tires had been purchased by the original owner more than six years ago.

I took my car in for an oil change and asked them to check my tires due to my pressure light being on and the car was driving funny.upon inspection it was discovered that there was a busted belt in the sidewall.this is the second tire i have had to replace in two months. Also, it was stated at this time that my car will not pass inspection due to wear on the tread and i will need to buy new tires before re-registering my vehicle.car is less than one year old with under 20,000 miles.

Dunlop sp sport 5000 dsst p245/40rf19 developed sidewall bubble spontaneously. These tires were standard when the car was purchased new.i have seen numerous reports of similar complaints of sidewall bubbles following pothole encounters. Tires had only 17,500 miles on them.the fact that there are so many similar complaints leads me to believe there is a manufacturing issue.

Defect in dunlop sport 7000 a/s tire: tire sidewall bulged out from the inside of the tire.size of bulge is approx 1.5 in x 2.0 in.rubber exterior wall of tire appears as frayed.there were no accidents or other known causes of the bulge or fraying.tire was 6 months old and had 8600 miles, mostly suburban driving (some highway/interstate), driven under normal driving conditions.the defect was discovered when the car's sensor showing tire air pressure indicated low pressure in at least one tire; visual inspection immediately revealed the defect; tire pressure had dropped to 22 psi, probably over a period of 2-3 days.no injuries, accidents or other property damage caused by defect due to alert provided by tire pressure sensor.dunlop offered to repair/replace the defective tire under warranty; offer declined, and owner replaced all four (relatively new) dunlop tires with other brand tires.all four original tires have been discarded, but photos of the defective tire are available for inspection.owner telephoned dunlop to notify manufacturer of the defect sept 20, 2011 11:40 a.m. Edt.

Consistent bubbles on stock dunlop sport tires.i have replaced them approximately 5 times with only 27,000 miles on the vehicle.

Tire had a 1/16 inch wideby 1/2 inch length slit near the rim. Went to the tire manufacturer and i was told it was not a defect. When i first saw the slit, it was like a pulled tissue paper. Now it is two inches long. I got it replaced at a cost.

2006 kawasaki concours with dunlop sport radial tires.k701f in front, k700j in rear.these tires track severely on rain grooves on california highways.i have 30 years experience driving motorcycles and have never been so scared by how a tire behaved over rain grooves until i bought this bike.i went to the dealer today to complain and there was a bike like mine with 700 miles on it getting it's tires changed because the owner couldn't stand how these tires tracked in rain grooves.this is the most unsettling situation you can imagine i thought i had two flat tires the first time i drove it on the highway, then i thought maybe the swingarm was loose.just when i went to pull over i hit a section of blacktop and it smoothed out.i can't express enough how bad these tires are and they should never be on a motorcycle.
