Truth in toyota sticker about mpg on their cars.

I have run flat tires on my 2005 sienna (purchased october 2004). I also bought a set of winter tires & rims) in december 2004 and since then i am alternating them 6 months of the year. Have currently 21,000 miles on my vehicle. The dunlop tires are almost worn out, although i probably put on them mo more than 12-13,000 miles. Part of the reason i believe is that when i bought the car(even when i test drove it) i noticeda rough ride and a pull to the left, but could not wait for the dealer to order another car, so i took it home (i bought it from a dealer out of town). Also i was blaming the tire threadgeometry for the rough ride, and the dealership offered me to change the tires for the cheaper ones bridgestone, but i had to pay like $80 for the operation, so i decided not to. The rough drive continued until i decided to take it to my local dealership who found out that it was misaligned.the did a free alignment but the car would still pull to the left. This, i was told, was normal, since the tires had been worn unevenly, so now they had to get the normal wear again.now the car no longer pulls, but this comes a the cost of having excessively worn tires. I see that this is not an unique case.

Dt:contact states: he has put two new sets of tires on his vehicle since purchasing it. The alignment on the vehicle has been checked. The original tires on the vehicle had to be replaced at 16,463 miles. The second set had to be replaced at 15,337 miles.the tire dealer told him the tread was wearing out and experiencing premature tire failure.

A nail punctured the passenger front run-flat tire on our 2004 toyota sienna awd.tire pressure sensor did not illuminate.tire then unknowingly driven roughly 100 miles and subsequently had to be replaced due to uneven wear.vehicle was less than one year old.dealership refused to cover any damages, in fact, no support from toyota whatsoever.tires lasted approximately 20,000 miles before all four had to be replaced.again, no dealer support.purchased in oct 04 from reinhardt motors (montgomery, al), with continued lack of support from rich hendrick toyota (fayetteville, nc).

Premature tire wear with run-flat tires. Tires replaced after 17,000 miles on the vehicle.

While vehicle was parked and turned off front tire exploded. Cause of the failure was undetermined.

Toyota sienna 2005 oem tire valve stem cracked and leaked air slowly. Toyota dealer replaced valve stem.

Tire failure.

Lower sidewall of dunlop sp 4000 dsst run flat tire (installed as original equipment on 2004 toyota sienna xle awd minivan) was punctured by a nail.the vehicle was difficult to drive/handle under these conditions and was barely able to be driven to a tire repair facility despite the fact that vehicle owner's manual says the vehicle can be driven up to 100 miles at speeds below 50 miles per hour.based on this presumption, toyota does not equip the vehicle with a spare tire.toyota also recommends contacting the dealership for assistance.there are several problems associated with this philosophy: (i) not having a spare tire in the case of a puncture such as this has the potential to strand the driver and passengers in a potentially dangerous situation; (ii) driving the vehicle under these conditions can cause further damage to the vehicle and risk the safety of the occupants; and (iii) some toyota dealerships (such as ours) are not equipped to repair and/or replace these tires.with respect to the tires there are other problems as well:(i) the tires experience rapid tread wear (see numerous complaints listed at www.tirerack.com) requiring constant replacement; (ii) without constant monitoring of the tire wear, driving the vehicle becomes unsafe; (iii) the tires are generally in short supply and in cases such as ours, where the tire could not be repaired, vehicle owners have to wait at least a week to obtain replacements; (iv) because of the excessive tread wear, when damage such as ours occurs, it becomes necessary to replace at least two tires; and (v) the tires are outrageously expensive, averaging between $200-$300 per tire.

My 2005 toyota sienna le awd has just 7,000 miles on it.recently took it to the dealership for a regular service and requested that they look at the tires as i was experiencing vibration when driving.dealership said that all four tires needed to be replaced as soon as possible as there was cupping and uneven wear.they suggested that i caused this problem by driving on the tires under-inflated or by somehow not maintaining them.however, i am meticulous about maintaining my vehicle and i have not noticed at any time that the pressure was too low, and never at any time did the low tire pressure warning go off.still haggling with dealership to determine whether they will pay to replace them, though i'm not sure replacing them will do much good in another 7,000 miles.no failures, injuries, or deaths to report,... Yet.with these poorly made, defective tires, it's only a matter of time.

The contact owns a 2006 toyota sienna equipped with dunlop sp4000 tires, size p225/60/r17. The contact stated that the driver was traveling 55 mph when the front passenger side tire blew. The tires were run-flat tires and the vehicle was taken directly to an authorized dealer where the tire was replaced. The failure recurred on the front driver's side tire approximately one and a half years later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the failure was common for the model vehicle.the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

When driving 2007 sienna van tire went flat and tire pressure sensor (plastic)broke off rim, dealership would not warranty the sensor, even though the vehicle is only 1 1/2years old, also dunlop tire are garbage always loosing tire pressure since we own vehicle.

On 06/09/2005, we noticed that our 2004 toyota sienna awd-xle had a flat tire on the driver's side rear.the tire was noticeably flat and we limped to a service station to inflate the tire.the tire had zero tire pressure and a massive hole between the treads where you could feel/hear the air escaping as it was being filled.the tire had 0 psi/tire pressure.the dunlop sp sport 4000 run-flat tires came standard on our 2004 sienna.we went to the dealership where we purchased the vehicle, have had service completed and tires rotated as required.our van is 10 months old and has 13,800 highway miles.the dealership said they did not have the matching tire in stock and would work to find one.the assistant store manager said they had not seen any run-flats with flats.later that day, the dealership called and said they had a deal for me.they were able to get the toyota rep to give us 4 brand new tires for free, except they needed to keep the vehicle the weekend until the tires arrived.when asked why? and if there was a problem with the other tires, i was told that they had worn down to a level that would barely pass a new york state inspection.after doing some research on-line, it is clear that the 2004 toyota sienna awd-xle and other versions, are in serious jeapordy due to tire failure.the vehicle had been driven for a day, in excess of 50 mph, without knowledge of the catastophic tire failure on the run-flats, and there was no indicator light ever activated.the dealership will be getting a print out of this website's related search results and toyota will be contacted for a complaint.we realize we are fortunate to get 4 new tires at no charge, but the issue is safety, not appeasement.please help.

The contact owns a 2006 toyota sienna equipped with dunlop sp4000 tires, tire size 225/60/17. The dot number was unknown. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that all four tires exhibited significant tread separation. The four tires were replaced with new tires. The failure mileage was 85,000. The vin was unavailable.

The dunlop run flat tires on the 2006 sienna mini-van are horrible.at 10,000 miles they were wearing very fast. They are loud on the road, and ride very rough with vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel and the gas pedal.the toyota dealership saidthe vin didn't qualify for replacement tires.

Driving vehicle exiting highway, tire blew out next to the rim, leaving the rubber around the bead.the tire blew toward the tread up to the tread inspection revealed cracking around the rim on two other tires.

Toyota sienna 2006 awd run flat tires..only 29,000 miles on tires and have abnormal wear and need to replace them.toyota should recall these tires as they are showing to be a real problem with consumers.

Toyota equips and sells their sienna awd vans with dunlop sp sport 4000 p225/60r17 dsst run flat tires and fails to inform you that you will be lucky to get 20-25,000 miles on the tires.i had my van serviced and tires rotated every 5,000 miles and not once was i informed that my tires were wearing out.at 25k i had to get 4 new tires.toyota did pay for 2 of the 4 but it still cost me $558.my van was manufactured after 09/05 so i was not eligible for total replacement pera class action law suite.

The contact owns a 2006 toyota sienna equipped with dunlop sp sport 4000t dsst tires, size p225/60/r17. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, he noticed that the vehicle was pulling to the left and having a vibrating feeling. After inspecting the vehicle, he noticed the front passenger tire tread had separated and slowly drove to the nearest service station. The vehicle was repaired and they advised him to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

Our 2004 toyota sienna has run-flat dunlop tires that are wearing prematurely at around 13000 miles.the problem is that the toyota dealership that services our car does not want to admit that there is a problem with these tires.this has prolonged our replacement of the tires which has put our family at risk for personal injury should the tires fail suddenly.we should have replaced the tires 1000 miles ago but did not because the toyota dealership would not tell us that they needed to be replaced after 3 service visits for issues related to the tires(most likely because of a fear that they would have to pay to replace them at such an early time).this is a national problem and these tires need to be recalled before you start to receive complaints associated with personal injuries and deaths.

The contact owns a 2007 toyota sienna equipped with dunlop sp4000 tires.the contact stated that the front passenger tire was bulging along the sidewall.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where each tire, except the front driver side tire, was replaced.approximately seven months later, the failure recurred on both rear tires.the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where both rear tires were replaced.the failure recurred a second time within the next seven months on the rear driver side tire.the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where it was in the process of having the tire replaced.after each failure, the tires were replaced with the exact same type as the previous tire (dunlop sp4000).the vin was not available. The failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 73,000.

On may 17, 2005 we purchased 4 dunlop sp sport 4000 tires for our honda odyssey. We had 4 wheel front drive alignment and computer balancing.on may 30th, we noticed a bubble on the side of the wall.since the tires were only 2 weeks old, we were very surprised and disappointed.when we contacted the original tire shop, they said that such bubbles were not the result of poorly made tires, instead, by road hazards.there are no scratches or other noticeable marks on the tire, but there is a rip on the inside, near the rim.the tire was obviously defective.

I own a 2004 toyota sienna le awd with dunlop sp sport 4000t dsst tires and the tires are a huge safety risk. I have less that 15,000 miles on them and parts of the tires are worn right down to the belt. After reading posts online it appears that this is a not an isolated incident. Any tire that cost over $300.00 should not wear down to the point where they can cause a blow out before they even reach 15,000 miles. It's not like these are on a sports car doing burnouts. This is a minivan. My wife and 3 children ride in this van and they have the nerve to put this safety hazard on theroad. Toyota and dunlop should be ashamed of themselves. I am still talking to toyota at this point but listening to other people with the same problem it doesn't appear that i am going to get anywhere with them.

Major tire wear like the numerous other complaints. Replaced without warranty at 23k miles. Is there a minimum number of complaints necessary for investigation? these tires or the toyota sienna have a major problem! investigate it please before people are injured like the firestone issue.

Truth in toyota sticker about mpg on their cars.

After only 19,000 miles of use, the run-flat tires on my toyota sienna have been worn away significantly to a dangerous level.the dealer has recommended only replacement with the same exact tire model, as no other tire brand or model may be used with this vehicle.at only 6,000 miles one tire had failed spontaneously without triggering the low-pressure warning system.i had been told by dealer the non-visible edge of tire (side facing toward the vehicle) had worn through the tread completely.that tire was replaced at my cost, assuming it was a unique and isolated incident.i see now that these tires are inadequate.

My 2004 toyota sienna minivan with all wheel drive (awd) has tires that have worn out very quickly (less than 20,000 miles) leaving my minivan with very dangerous (bald) tires. All tires must be replaced and it will cost over $1,300. It is difficult to get replacement tires and a dealer with equipment to change the tires, forcing owners to drive on bald tires.they are too expensive, too difficult to replace, and i was not told of this when i bought the car.

2006 toyota sienna w/run flat tires showedsignificant premature tire wear. All service maintained with toyota dealership and up to date. Determined that at 19.400 miles the wear showed tire belt creating a safety hazard unknown to the driver/owner until normal service visit. The vinwas outside the effected vin list associated with supplemental tire warranty coverage sponsored by toyota related to identical problems with previous awd siennas. Toyota refused assistance in replacing tires. Dunlop provided prorate of 48% for replacement. Tireswere viewed as unsafe based on premature wear that would not be noticeable to owner/driver without understanding theproblems with run flats. Toyota refused any support since vin was 5000 outside the effectivity of the supplemental warranty. Failure of tire due to premature wear could result in loss of control of the vehicle, and ultimtaely loss of life. Research via internet revealed other premature wear problems thatwere also outside the vin effectivity list assosciated with the suppllemental warranty. Only time when a tire failure will result in an accident and potentially loss of life.

The tires on our 2005 toyota sienna minivan have failed twice: once in april 2006 and again in january 2007.both times the low tire pressure indicator did not work .we warned toyota the first time the sensor didn't work and they checked it and said it was working fine.our tires failed again, and the indicator did not light this past time as well.toyota has said we may have to pay for this latest set of tires.

Problem is with run flat tires on new 2004 toyota sienna mini-vans. Ours is the xle ltd. Awd. Tires were substantially worn down at only 15,000 miles. Tires are dunlop run flat p225/60r1798t m + s.new car dealer refused to address the problem. Tires are very expensive and hard to find. I see there are many complaints on the internet re these tires on the new toyota sienna.

I want to report what i believe to be a safety/product defect with the following tire:dunlop p225/60r17, 98t, m+s, sp4000t, dsst cttthis is a so-called run-flat tire (installed approximately 12,000 miles ago) per original equipment specifications on my 2006 toyota sienna awd minivan. Within the past six weeks, (3) of these tires ruptured so badly that they had to be replaced. With the first blowout, i surmised that the problem might be due to michigan's notorious road pot holes. I was even willing to concede this might still be the reason after the second blowout. But when the third occurred two days ago, i concluded that a serious defect was at fault. Note that the tires were properly-inflated according to the sticker on the driver's door jam sticker (35 psi). Though it was possible to drive slowly on these ruptured tires to a dealer for replacement, the cost for new ones is very high (~$250 each, installed). As a consequence'after the third blowout'i installed (4) conventional tires. My total tire replacement costs are now > $1000. I would appreciate your contacting me about the status of this problem.

Regarding nhtsa action no. Pe06010, i have a 2004 toyota sienna xle limited with awd with the tire pressure warning system (tpws) for my dunlop run flat tires (sp 4000).i have experienced punctures in two of my tires on separate occasions.both times the tpws only activated when the psi was about 5- to 15.the dealer indicated to me that the magnetic system will only activate once a tire's height becomes lower due to air loss, and the magnetic field is "tripped".the problem is that the run flat tires do not lose their height due to air loss until the tire is nearly depleted.so, the tpws essentially cannot properly function as intended, at least when run flat tires are installed.as to the dunlop run flats, they had to be replaced after only 19,700 miles.i know numerous other consumers have had similar experiences. Toyota acknowledged the problem and relpaced my tires with a new set of 4 run flats at no charge (other than installation).typical price is $250 per tire.credit to toyata, but not sure what will happen when the new set fails.

I purchased a 2004 toyota sienna awd xle in april of 2004 equipped with dunlop sp sport 4000 dsst run-flat tires. After only 8900 miles on the vehicle i discovered i had a flat tire. I was told by two tire dealers that all four tires need to be replaced due to tread wear. After doing some research, i discovered this is a common problem with this tire model on the 2004 toyota sienna awd xle. Toyota's response has been that the tires are warranted through the manufacturer and that i need to contact the manufacturer. The local authorized dunlop dealer has offered to replace the tires at $60/ea plus $15 installation/ea. However, i don't feel safe driving on these tires after reading all the incidences of tire failure. Toyota is suggesting as an option that i convert to regular/conventional tires, which would also mean converting the vehicle to carry a spare and lose the space for the seventh passenger (the vehicle is currently not set up to carry a spare). I don't know yet how much this is going to cost me or if toyota will cover all or some of the cost.the national highway traffic safety administration should investigate and determine whether the dunlop sp sport 4000 dsst tires are safe or whether they should be recalled.

5 days after paying harr toyota of worcester 2000.00 for a 60,000 mile check up, brakes and my third set of run flat tires. I experienced a blow out on the highway which was caused by improper installation of the tire. This was noted by toyota of nashua who then replaced the tire which again blew out 60 miles down the highway.this is the third set of tires i have had with 56,000 miles on the car. Not including the two i had to replace due to inferior work. This is insane and very dangerous. My family's lives were endangered twice in one day! every toyota mechanic i spoke to complained about the tires.after getting no satisfaction from either dealership i wrote a lettter to yuki funo the ceo of toyota who kindly sent the letter back to harr who has still done nothing! unbelievable that they are allowed to sell such an inferior product at such a high price that is not only expensive but dangerous!!! also unbelievable that a ceo of a company is aware he is endagering people's lives and does nothing about it.

The contact owns a 2005 toyota sienna equipped with dunlop sp4000 tires.while having the vehicle inspected at an independent repair shop, the contact was informed that the vehicle would not pass inspection because all four tires were bald.the tires were replaced by an authorized dealer under warranty.since having the tires replaced, she had experienced four blowouts on the frontand rear tires.she was informed by the authorized dealer that the failure had most likely occurred because the tires were not being rotated on schedule and were under-inflated.after each blowout, the failed tire would be replaced with a new dunlop sp4000 tire. There were no further failures.the failure mileage was 10,000 and the current mileage was 66,000.

The contact owns a 2008 toyota sienna with dunlop sp4000 a/f p215/65s/r16 with dot da2hc4er3807.while backing out of the driveway at a low speed of 5mph the vehicle appeared unbalanced from the right to the left. The driver observed that the front passenger side tire was disengaged from the rim with aproximately 2/3 of the tire hanging onto the rim. The tire has not been repaired. The contact is aware of the saferty risk due to the defect. The current and failure mileages were 7,500.

We purchased a 2007 toyota sienna xle awd in may of 2007. In nov 2007, the low tire pressure warning light came on. I checked the tires and they were in fact low. We filled the tires with air. A couple of weeks later, the same thing happened. We put air in the tires and made an appointment to bring the car into the toyota dealership. Toyota of bellevue checked the tires wed dec 5, 2007. They checked all four tires and found nothing wrong. On wed night may 28, 2008, the same thing happened. The right front tire was at or below 15 psi, the other three tires were at or just under 20 psi. I filled all four tires and the light went out (when i filled the right front tire, i started the car to see if the warning indicator would go out; it did not go out, until i filled all four tires back up to normal pressure.on may 31, 2008 we brought the car into toyota of bellevue and they took all four tires off and inspected, but found no problems. They did not remove the tires from the rims, nor did they submerge the tires in water, nor did they replace the valve stems. They did not find any foreign objects that may have pierced the tires. Called dunlop tires on 6/3/08 case#976284. On 6/4/08 we brought the car into elliott tire & service. They removed all of the tires and checked them. Stated it could be a faulty pressure sensor. On 8/31/08 on way to everett, the tire light came on again. Car sat outside at night and light is still on 9/1/08. Again the same thing happened in jan 2009. We requested the dealer to replace the whole tire sensor system repeatedly. They refused every time. This car is not safe. The tire sensors allow air to leak and the tires become low despite the fact that we fill them every week.

I have a 2005 toyota sienna with all wheel drive and run-flat tires.i was told that the car has a tire pressure monitoring system (tpms).i had two events of low tire pressure that went undetected by me. Both times i took the car to the dealer who told me the noise and vibration was due to low tire pressure. I told them that i never saw the low tire pressure light on the dashboard. The latest event was a blow-out of the left front run-flat tire on hwy 85 in ca. The car was difficult to handle and i slowed and exited the freeway and there was never a tpms warning light on the dashboard to indicate loss of tire pressure.the tire was totally gone.had to cover the cost of that repair.i recently took the car back to the dealer to find out why the tpms was not working.the dealer then told me that the tpms system on the 2005 toyota is based on the anti-lock braking system and uses the speed of tire rotation and not direct tire pressure measurements.furthermore, they told me that the tmps was working perfectly. I find application of a tmps based on tire circumference with run-flat tires is completely useless.there is no way the 2005 toyota sienna tmps will ever work with run-flat tires.the run-flat tires have extremely strong side-walls to allow the car to continue with little air pressure but, that means the tire does not deform with low tire pressure.the fact that i had a total tire blowout without a tmps warning light showing means the tmps system does not work.i find this system to be unsafe and i want to know what is being done and how could this tmps system comply with department of transportation rule cfr citation: 49 cfr parts 571 and 590; docket id: nhtsa 2000-8572, rin id 2127-a133?

Have a toyata xle awd van with run flats and tire pressure monitoring system.the tire pressure monitoring does not work.front passenger tire has a leakwhich could not be found 2 weeks ago.the system was reset, all tires pressured up by the dealer 2 weeks ago. There is a 20 psi difference between the left and right wheels and the system does not light up in the dash.3 week ago, we went on a 2000 mile trip, before which i noticed the problem of one tire being low in tire pressure and the system not working.the dealer has no fix on the problem and said toyota does not have any tsb's on it.now duse to this defective system, they have found a leak which may be close to the sidewall on the tire and cannot be repaired and it being an all wheel drive vehicle, i am being advised to put 4 new runflats at over $1200 with less than 16000 miles on this vehicle.

2005 sienna awd. Had a flat tire for a couple of days but did not notice it (only drove in town, not interstate speeds). The warning light appeared but disappeared, and then it was intermittent (it looked like it would turn on only after some driving.) luckily this did not damage the tires, but i wonder what would have happen if i were on the interstatein the middle of nowhere and experienced the same problem (no warning light). I see that a recall may be in progress.

Driving vehicle exiting highway, tire blew out next to the rim, leaving the rubber around the bead.the tire blew toward the tread up to the tread inspection revealed cracking around the rim on two other tires.

(1) driving along in town, aprox 5 mph2) tire went flat, seems as if someone stuck a knife through it, but it was fine upon leaving my home (only has 1,866 miles)/(3) not covered by warrenty, have to purchase new tire.

We had a tire blow out through the sidewall recently.we drive a 2004 toyota sienna le fwd with dunlop sp sport 4000 a/s tires installed as oem.we had just barely passed 26,000 miles when we had a side wall blowout on the driver side rear tire while travelling app. 70 mph on the highway in south carolina.i pay attention to tire pressure and teadwear, so the tire that blew should have been inflated properly, and in this case i had already begun thinking about getting new tires because the tread was approaching the wear bars.this is a very poor-performance tire, and i'm amazed toyota made a corporate decision to put these tires on their sienna "family vans."dunlop should be embarassed to even attempt to sell them.

Dt: the tires are wearing out prematurely, these are the runflat tires. The tread is mostly gone, and they have only 15,000 miles on them. Consumer contacted toyota and they agreed to replace the tires with michelin regular tires. Consumer states that the vehicle is taking longer to stop when applying brakes because of the wear on the tires. Toyota has been cooperative in helping the consumer to get an understanding of the problem with the tires. The tire failure is on all 4 tires.*sb

Tire failure.

Dunlop run flat tires made specially for 2004 and beyond toyota sienna wear out in less than 20,000 miles for numerous consumers after regular rotations and balancing.numerous reviews on www.tirerack.com from consumers complaining about the dunlop sp4000 dsst 225/60/17 tires wearing out after less than 20,000 miles.i just had to replace mine at a total cost of $1,300 - and there are no other tires that will work on this car since these tires were made specially for this car.

Extremely rapid tire wear on dunlop run flat tires that were original equipment on a 2005 toyota sienna awd van.the tires have been rotated several times.at less than 17,000 miles at least one is down to the wear markers.the others are not far behind.i have discovered that this is ongoing issue for nearly all owners of these awd vans.these are very expensive top of the line tires.now a days 40,000 + miles is the norm!i can't believe that a $33,000+ vehicle is sold legally with such inferior equipment tires!.

During inspection dealership informed the consumer that all four tires had tread separation. The problem was not resolved. Dunlop sp4000, 215/60r16.

I owna 2005 toyota sienna awd.at 7500 miles the front tires had excessive wear, now with 9000 miles the dealer is recommending me to change all 4 tires.currently i am negotiating with toyota to pay for the tire replacement. They have offered little assurance to help and no commitment for future problems. I know this is a major problem with many awd toyota owners.toyota needs to be held accountable/responsible.

Original dunlop tires on2003, lexus ls, 430 wore out after17640 miles.

Dt:2004 toyota sienna.the contact stated the tires tread wore at a very low mileage.these were the original tires onthe vehicle.the tires have not been replaced at this time.there is approximately 21,050 miles on this vehicle.these are dunlop,sp4000t dsst.the contact noticed the wear on the tire last week, october 11, 2005, when the tires were getting their third rotation.

I have a 2006 toyota sienna xle awd minivan which was seen 10/17/07for tire replacement (dunlop 4000 dsst run flats). I have owned this care for 1 year and 2 weeks and have only 14,900 miles on it.recommended service has been done at the dealership twice since i've owned the car, including tire rotation...once in february and once at the end of july.the car was driven only under normal road conditions and air pressures checked every 2 weeks. I am two weeks past 1 yr. Warranty and even though preexisting wear was "missed" by service dealer in late july, i am being charged for replacement.toyota aware or previous problems with these tires, including class action law suit, yet continued to put them on cars.my tread wear was determined to be uneven with 0 depth on the inside tread of left front, posing a safety hazard and creating an unsafe driving condition.report also indicates wear on edges and cupping evident on all other tires (according to the dealer, my vin number did not match up with the"service bulletin" and i was charged for the installation of these tires and a wheel alignment)an attempt to contact toyota customer care while the car was in the shop was unresolved as customer care never returned my call.run flats were supposed to be a safety feature on my awd, instead they have become a safety hazard.one does not carry a spare, and in fact there is no room for one in this sienna.you would not expect to need 4 new tires at <15,000 miles!

The contact owns a 2006 toyota sienna.the vehicle has dunlop sport tires.while driving at an unknown speed, the contact heard a grinding noise coming from all four of her tires.the vehicle was taken to a mechanic and he discovered uneven tread wear.the tires are not on recall.the dot number, tire model size, and tire size were unknown.the current mileage was 15,000 and failure mileage was 11,000.

All four tires on 2006 toyota sienna were rendered inoperable due to excessive wear on inside.vehicle only had approximately 15000 milesauto shop , hogan & sons, 540-338-7005,noted similar incident with 2007 toyota sienna with only 7000 mileage.

Had to replace complete set twice of run flat tires on vehicle within three years of new purchase although have under 30,000.

Corrosion on wheels of toyota sienna. Toyota is aware of the defect and refuses to replace the wheels.

All four dunlop sp sport 4000t dsst run-flat tires on my 2004 toyota sienna xle awd are completely worn after 13,800 miles.these are original tires.both toyota and dunlop do not want to take any responsibility for this issue despite the numerous complaints being made here and elsewhere reported in depth in the internet.a reasonable consumer would expect that these tires would be engineer to last more than 10k miles given they are each $300 a piece.please assist me and numerous other toyota owners with similar problems by conducting a defect investigation and ultimately assisting in a formal recall of these tires and the associated problems causing the tire failures.i am afraid that replacing the tires every year at a cost of $1400 won't solve the problem which appears to have some relationship to vehicle alignment issues as well as poor tire longevity.

2004 toyota sienna limited awd with dunlap run flat tires. Vehicle is 18 months old with 16,000 miles. The vehicle began to have hard ride with increase road noise. Taken to local tire center, 2 tires tread worn off, the other 2 significantly worn. Advised that the tires were dangerous to cont to drive on. Cost to replace tires approx $1300. No spare tire is provided, since the run flats are standard equipment. Must then buy the same tire with the same problems. Contacted toyota, they are unwilling to accept responsibility, dunlap was willing to prorate the tires, but still offers no warranty on new tires. Review of the internet shows this is a common complaint. I think the run flat tires are a good idea, but i doubt they were actually tested to be sure that they are safe and effective.

Uneven and premature wear on all 4 tires with progressively harsh and noisy ride on 2004 toyota xle limited awd minivan despite proper tire pressure and tire rotation. Current mileage ~8,900 miles.

My wife and i purchased a 2004 toyota sienna limited awd with dunlop runflat tires as factory equipment. We currently have 19,700 miles on the vehicle and have been advised by our dealership that the tires are worn to the point that they all need to be replaced immediately.we have contacted both toyota and dunlop with no assistance from either source to date. It is a well known fact, stated all over the internet, that there are serious problems with these tires yet for some reason neither toyota or dunlop are being held accountable for the faulty and dangerous tires on these vehicles. Apparently they are waiting for people to be injured or killed before stepping forward and taking responsibility!

Left front and right rear tire had tread separation while driving.sp40, size p205/70r15.please include dot #.

The vehicle was purchased in march 29, 2000 with 3,636 miles on it.with less than 20k miles, the tread separated on the left front tire on friday, december 22, 2000.on february 9, 2001, i took the vehicle in to be serviced, including a tire rotation and balance, 4-wheel alignment.when i went to pick up the car, the right front tire tread had separated and the technician had placed the spare on the vehicle and advised that i needed a new tire.when i told him it was the second tire in less than a year of ownership, he said i needed to contact the manufacturer.on friday, august 10, 2001, i had a third of the original tires tread separate on the left front side just 10k miles after my alignment.no one seems to know what is causing the tires to wear excessively on the inside and separate.when i took the car in to replace that tire, the tire dealer informed me that the last of the original tires was wearing and very susceptible to the same type of tread separation.by the end of the day tomorrow, i will have spent over $600 to purchase new tires for a vehicle that has less than 31k miles on it.please help!
