My wife's 2006 mini cooper s convertibles airbag light stays on. This should be a recall, as i'm seeing. On the internet, that many owners of coopers and bmws have this same problem. Very much a safety issue and be advised that you are officially on notice, that this is a problem.also a tire safety issue included.

Hard top convertible will not open -- the micron chip has been replaced twice by the dealer.hard top convertible squeaking noise -- i have taken the car in 6 times for the same problem; only occurs when car sits in direct sunlight at 85 degrees or hotte( dot number: )

My primary concern is the engine trouble with my 1999 accord.when i need to accelerate the car "misfires" according to the gresham honda dealership.this is where the car is being serviced.contact name and number would be mark cawthorn @ 503-676-7070.i am very hesitant to pull out in traffic at any speed because i never know when my car will misfire.at times the acceleration sticks at both 2-3rpms.basically, there is no acceleration.the check engine light no longer comes on when the car hesitates.the first two times that the car was taken to the honda dealership the check light did come on.my car is currently on it's 5th stay with honda.they(honda and their technicians) seem to have no idea what the problem was.hopefully the problem will be resolved easily and most importantly, quickly.i'd hate to be the cause of an accident.equally as important, i have had a failure with my abs.while there was no accident, i barely stopped at the intersectionwhile brakes locked up on pavement.i have had passengers in my vehicle on such occasions and each would be willing to give tesimonies to such failures as listed above.in fact, the honda technician has also experienced the "misfire" first hand in my accord.i may be a little difficult to reach with college and two jobs but please feel free to leave messages at either phone number. Defective anti-lock brake system. * mrthe brakes would grind, make noises, pulsate on dry pavement at low speeds, and the vehicle pulled to the side sharply upon braking.the vehicle pulled to the side while in motion.the tires felt as if they had no traction.the consumer was able to avoid accidents when the vehicle would lose control during mild weather.(possible dot # 0156-82/model 9000m)scc

During an emergancy braking procedure the abs system did not work. I attempted to stop from highway speeds, the tires locked up, and the abs/ brake light came on and then went out seconds later. But the front tire locked up when i needed the abs to work. The light now comes on and off at will. The brake pads front and rear have been changed, and the brake fluid changed to fix the problem with no luck. The light tends to come on once the engine is warm but i no longer trust the abs to work even if the light is off.

The problem is a steering wheel shake that sets up a distracting vibration at speeds between 50-60 mph. The strength of the vibration is varied as the vibrations can be strong or weak and at times, even feel as if they are not there.the danger is that there doesn't seem to be an answer as to what is causing this problem. It's related to steering of the vehicle.becomes very disconcerting creating a nervous driver as the sensation from the vibrations is one of "lack of control".tires have been rotated, rebalanced and tire pressures checked and changed multiple times to check for changes.the vibration remains.different tires result in the same type of vibration.the overall feeling is a lack of control, and the potential that maybe one day something may "snap" and the cause of the problem may be found in the worst possible way, by way of an accident. I would rather not wait until then. Many other audi a4 (model b7) owners have reported the same problem with no resolution from audi at this point.it's not just a matter of driver comfort.for me, steering is vital, and how the vehicle operates is very contingent on how the steering feels and functions. Tread separation and then tire sidewall failure, caused sideways car skid on snow covered road, fortunately there was a gap in traffic at that time in oncoming lane and no one following close behind. (dot number: dbur aa45tiresize: p205/65r15)

On 4 aug 2012 at about 2:15pm my wife experienced a failure of her right (passenger side) rear tire. The tire is a dunlop sp sport 01 as 225/40r18. The car was being driven at about 35 mph on surface streets. My wife heard a "pop" noise and noticed that the tire inflation warning came on. She immediately called me and aaa. They put on the full-sized spare. When i inspected the tire the inside sidewall showed a "split" in one of the seams. I have experienced the same type of failure (inside sidewall showed a "split" in one of the seams) with the same tire type (dunlop sp sport 01 as 225/40r18) on 1 june 2012. That time the car was being driven on a highway at 65 mph. That time the right front (passenger) tire failed.this is definitely a safety issue! both tires failed wit approximately 30,000 miles on them. The dealer indicated that they were safe to install at the start of the summer season. We switch tires twice a year because the dunlops are considered more of a "performance" tire. After the first failure the dealer ordered a pair of tires. He ordered the same ones so the tread would match. Not sure at this point that i will continue with dunlops.

The contact owns a 2011 mazda mazda3 equipped with dunlap sb sport 250 225/40/r18 tires. The contact stated that the inside of both front tires wore down prematurely and tore away. The contact also stated that you could see the wires on both tires. The contact was informed by a tire shop that the vehicle needed an alignment. The vehicle was not taken to be examined. The failure mileage was 15,900 and the current mileage was 16,000. The vin was unavailable.

Bought my tire in february of 2015. Had issue immediately with it deflating on its own with no noticeable leaks. Took to tire store i bought from they found no issues. Put inflate a tire in it and seemed to help for 2 months. Driving down the road the other day my tire shredded and the tread almost came off the wheel. Got the same tire on opposite back wheel, have no issues at all with it.

I was driving on us 93s on golden valley, arizona in my lexus 350 when i noticed the tire pressure warning light came on. Soon after the vehicle started getting wobbly so i slowed down and put my blinking light. A minute later, thecar shook as if we were riding a rectangular tire and heard a loud bang when the left driver side rear tire blew out. We were at a high speed with cars and trucks wheezing by at 75-80 mph, no appreciable shoulder, so i drove the car about half a mile to a roadside deli. The tire was a dunlop sp sport 5000, run flat, with 16,9000 miles on it. Original tire by lexus. Called the dunlop, goodyear tire company and reported the blow out incident but they refuse to honor the guarantee blaming me for the blow out. The blow out caused damage to the car too putting a hole through the wheel well.

I purchased a 2014 infiniti q50 new from the dealer.the car had approximately 6,500 miles on it when the right front tire side wall cracked.the repair shop noticed that the left front tire had a bubble and also needed to be replaced.both front tires were replaced the week of 5/17/15.one month after the replacement, the right front tire sidewall cracked again.

The contact owns a 2014 mazda 6 equipped with dunlop sp sport tires, size: 225/45r19. While driving at approximately 65 mph, the rear passenger side tire deflated without warning. A spare tire replaced the tire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear passenger side tire needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dot number was unknown. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 8,635.

The dunlop sport sp 01 a/s 18" tires that come as standard on certain trim levels of the vw gli / gti are defective imo.i am now going to replace the 4th tire in 29,000 miles of driving the vehicle since new from the same / similar issue; bubbles and sidewall defects, and most recently as of today a blowout in the left lane of a 4 lane highway at 65 mph after a minor road impact (did not jar cabin or wasn't particularly severe) 200 miles always from home.go online to places like tirerack.com and search the web, there are many complaints of the same thing with this tire and in the approximately 30,000-40,000 miles a year of driving i put on two vehicles combined (in which i average a new car purchase every year and half), only these tires have ever been an issue and vw equips these on both the gli and gti with the same said complaints, while other brands of tires in the same size do not have the complaints like these.i do realize they are lower profile and could be prone to more sidewall damage, but in all honesty they are just not built to practical highway strength standards as i again drive other vehicles in the same condition with no ill tire affects.after today's highway blowout i realize this is a safety issue more than just a nuisance as a less experienced driver may have had an accident.vw of america could most likely eliminate this by fitting their vehicles with other brands.

The contact owns a 2012 honda accord equipped with dunlop sp sport tires. The contact stated that the rear driver's tire blew out while driving 60 mph. The contact installed a spare tire and took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer offered no assistance and did not diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,200.

Both front tires (inside edge) worn out around half the circumference of the tire.the front tires worn out prematurely with the treads showing separations about an inch long from edges where treads meet the sidewall.the steel belts could be seen from the one-inch separation.car dealer service manager could not figure out what caused the premature wear.. The vehicle tires have been rotated and balanced according to maintenance schedule.contacted tire manufacturer and referred to a local dunlop dealer.tire dealer concluded that tires were not rotated.my brother- in- laws mpv 2000 with 25k miles experienced the same tire wear (the brand of tires he had was yokohama), but much more severe damage with longer tread separation causing the tires to lose most of the air.my comment is, could this be a car problem (suspension), and not the tire?i am thankful that these tires did not blow up at high speeds.who knows how many more out there are not being reported.thank you for taking the time to read about my problem and hope to hear from the nhtsa soon.

I purchased a new 2008 volkswagen gti in sept, 2008 which came with dunlop sp sport 01 as size 225/40r/18 tires.within the first few months i experienced a blowout of the front left tire when at very low speed (approx 5 mph i hit a small pothole.in the year since then, i have had three more tires get large bubbles in the sidewall (including two over the last two weeks) under the same circumstances.i also researched this tire on the tire rack website and found that out of approximately 45 reviews of this tire there were 18 complaints of exactly the same thing happening and in most of these they also experienced this failure 3 or 4 times in a relatively short period of time.i had purchased a tire warranty when i purchased my car and they have paid to replace these tires each time.since there are almost no cases such as these listed for any other tire review on the tire rack website i now believe there is a design flaw in this particular tire.i have contacted goodyear/dunlop to request that they either replace this tire with a different model or buy them back from me and allow me to purchase a safe tire and they have refused to do anything or acknowledge there may be a defect in the design of this tire.

I have purchase 5 dunlop run flat tires do to side wall damage. Sidewall damage caused me to purchase 3275/35r19 96y bmw b dun sp sprt max dsst rf b & 2 245/40r19 94y bmw b dun sp sprt max dsst rf these tires are very costly they do not perform and could be defected.

1. Left front tire hit a pot hole at 50 mph in eastbound #1 lane ramona expy, perris ca.2.tire compression caused the rim edge to slice open thehigh ply turn-up and steel sidewall stabilizer. This high ply turn-up comes off the rim bead at a 45 degree angle. If the tire is compressed past a cretin point the rim has no place to go but into this 45 degree deflection and slices into the tire causing sudden air loss.3. I called dunlop customer service and was talk down to in a condescending manor, hit a dead end there!

Premature wear - oem dunlop tires worn out at under 14,000 small puncture could not be sealed buy mazda dealer -after taking the mpv to the local goodyear shop - the indicated the tires were too worn to repair . I have all the maintenance records and the tires were rotated at mazda dealer.

2006 toyota sienna. Consumer states problem with vehicle tires *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle came equipped with dunlop sp 4000 dsst ctt run flat tires. Within 50,000 total miles, the consumer had gone through two sets of the tires, along with two separate sidewall explosions at highway speeds.

All four tires were worn outand air was keep out continuously starting around 25,000 miles. Couldn't find the reason until almost 30,000 miles even took a look several times. Finally i found all four tires got severe wear on inside tread which exposed wire thread. The fact i'd like to complaint is we,consumer can not easy to find out those problem until either tire flat completely or blow out while driving or until lift-up in service shop or until we have tragedy accident. I complained to lexus to inspect for public safety but they saying that they can reimburse for the price of 2 pairs instead of physical inspection. But my intention is not on reimbursement but prevent possible accident because i hear similar case on same model ls460 of my brother, friend. I replaced all four tires with another brand and keeping all four old tires until the problem is found.

On october 13th at approximately 1800hrs the left rear tire of my 1998 bmw m3 "rapidly deflated" resulting in a rollover crash.approximately 1/4 of the inner sidewall was left shredded.weather was sunny and warm, with no debris or contamination on the road surface(sr-62).the tire was installed by a bmw service center 5/7/08 at 68,814 miles, accident occurred at 82,943 miles.the dunlop 8080e p245/40 zr-17 dot# dmc903y1607 was determined to have good tread at the time of the accident by the california highway patrol and the tire pressure was checked three days prior.

We had a tire failure in the sidewall on a properly cared for and non-abused tire.we now have two additional tires failing on our vehicle (total 3/4) with the same defect and we have not driven over any potholes or other road defects that would be responsible for causing this failure.the auto manufacturer and tire manufacturer disclaim all responsibility on tires that are 14 months old and have under 16,000 miles on them.the first failure was deemed unsafe to drive and we were finally given a loaner after being told to drive on it for a week.just over a month after its replacement we now have two additional tires exhibiting the same sidewall defect.online accounts and reviews will show that a great number of consumers have had this exact same complaint.

Tires were replaced 4 timesa year due to sidewall problems. We have 4 cars in the house and none of the other cars have this issue. These tires cannot handle any potholes. Infiniti took out the road hazard warranty for these tires in their 2015 model q50s.

2 original equipment tires have developed golfball size blisters where sidewall meets the tread.

Tires did not fail, but cause abrupt steering jerks when slowing or stopping and at other times (dot number: dmdf10ytiresize: 225/45zr17)

I have dunlop sp sport tires (run flat) on my 2004 bmw 530i with 16,000 miles. The inside tread is wornbeyond the tread to the point where tire threads are clearly visible throughout the inside of the tire, while the outside is almost good as new. The rear tires are completely exhausted while the front tires clearly show excess and uneven wear on the inside. The service manager states that dunlop has been replacing these tires and has not had a single refusal yet. How many thousands of defects are out there, and must a family be killed before a recall happens? the service manager stated that with another client he could poke his fingers through the tire, and that car had 6000 miles on it! i had filed a previous compiant on my 2004 bmw 530i regarding this same issue. Today the service manager states that he has seen this at least 25 times, and that the issue is with the dunlop tires i have, nad not the car.i hope someone investigates this issue. Please email me with any questions at: [email protected]. I would be happy to share photos.

Purchased four dunlop sp sport a2 tires for 2001 chrysler sebring convertible, size p205/60hr16, from tirerack.after installation, car had a severe vibration and steering wobble above 45 mph.installer, hub cap heaven in cary, nc, reinstalled four times in attempt to bring all tires into adjustment with regard to road force, including one tire being replaced by tirerack.car would be ok for four to eight hours, and then tires would begin to vibrate strongly again.sent by tirerack and dunlop to local goodyear dealer to verify, and two tires were considered definitely defective and one borderline.this means three out of the five tires would not stay in round after installation, and one or both of the remaining are likely to go out of round after driving for a while.still pursuing adjustment with tirerack.currently have all four tires installed on car.

Front driver's side tire blewout. There was a hole incenter of tire.also, metal belts came out of tire. Tire did damage tofront of vehicle, door was bent, andmirrors stopped working. Contacteddunlop dealer, and they stated they will send someone to pick up tire. P215/60r16.

Three (3) dunlop sp sport 01 a/s 225/40r18 92h m+s tire failures in 4800 miles.these are the oe tires my new car (2008 vw r32) came with.first failure occurred at 600 miles (march 2008)when i hit a pothole at a very low speed. Rim sliced the tire, thus causing loss of air pressure. Replaced tire on my own.second failure occurred at about 4700 miles (october 2008). I hit an edge of a pothole, yet the impact was strong enough to bulge the tire's sidewall. I, again, replaced the second tire.third failure occurred at 4800 miles(december 2008), again a shallow pothole, and again a bubbled sidewall.each time tire pressure was correct, as my car is equipped with tire air pressure sensors.i have been in touch with volkswagen (reference # 808107587) and with dunlop(sonya bell, customer relations), but neither side is willing to show any interest inthis problem. Volkswagen claims they have nothing to do with tire issues, anddunlop does not see any problems.i know of other drivers who have experiences the same problems with these tires.

Only 29,500 miles on tires that for the price should last many thousand more.our tires looked like they were run improperly inflated and not rotated as recommended, but we have the service papers that prove otherwise.i have not had experience with dunlop brand tires and am quite disappointed with my only experience.i will never use this manufacturer again.my family is much too important to trust their safety with a company that doesn't take their responsibility seriously.our tires started loosing tread chunks while driving 75-80 mph on the interstate.only alert we had that this problem was occurring was a chunk that remained attached to the tire started hitting the wheel well of our vehicle.upon inspection, we learned that two other tires had already lost pieces of tread and were worn down beyond what was safe.

The complaint has nothing to do with an accident but the poor wear of dunlop sp sport maxx tires.i have a 2007 lexus ls460 and the front tire/driver side blew out.i replaced it with the spare tire and within two weeks my wife went to have the car serviced for an oil change.it was brought and shown to her attention that all of the tires on the car are wearing poorly.this car has only 22520 miles on it and to have to replace all four tires from the time of purchase because of the failure of dunlops manufacturing is a disgrace.i am reporting this in order to have this researched and hoping for some answers and/or compensation.if not, i will have to go further to get some type of resolution.my wife was lucky not to have been in an accident because of this.she was definitely informed that she needs to replace these tires because it would not be safe to drive very long with the tires condition.even the spare that was placed on the car and driven for two weeks is starting to show signs of the same problem.there has to be something wrong with the manufacturing of the tires and would like very much to get some answers.thank you very much for your time.

This tire completely shredded.

The contact owns a 2011 nissan rogueawl, purshcsed new from maguire nissan lebanon, pa the original tires are dunlop sp sports 7000as line sizep225/55r18/sl. The vehicle under 10,000 miles produced a whipping sound which altered in pitch with the speed of the vehicle. These tires were rotated per manufacutes instruction, aligned and balanced every 5000 miles. The car was taken back to maguire nissan on three occassionsat which time they acknowledged the tires were defective . The nissan corporation was contacted by me and so was dunlop tires.they acknowledged that three of the tires showed bumps on the tread surface, but refused to accept responsibility for poor manufacturing quality.they claimed the tires had not failed; therefore, they had no responsibilities to replace these tires. The car has now done 33,000 miles and the problem has progressively worsened to the extent the noise from the tires are deafening and results in severe strain and noise fatigue while driving.i recently had an estimate to replace all 4 tires and the cost per wal mart would be $964. The ntsb?s record in pursuing these corporate criminals and ensuring the safety of the motoring public has at best been indifferent and at worst collusive and complicit. Do people recall the tire failures on ford explores, the ignition switches debacle in gmc vehicles and the accelerator issues with toyota. Let us see if you have any teeth or are you the toothless wonders that the public have now come to believe you are?

Brand new vehicle with less than 10,000 miles with sidewall bubbles in two different tires.. This complaint is for the 2nd tire to hadn't this on the same vehicle within 2 months and 5,000 miles of each instance.

This vehicle came from the manufacturer with dunlop sp sport 01 a tires (225/40r18) (august 2012 purchase). Within nine months (8800 miles) two tires developed sidewall bubbles.after contacting dunlop, they replaced two tires st no charge.at that time, the goodyear/dunlop retail store slowed me to purchase a tire warranty on all four tires. Over the past six years and 80,000 miles, i have replaced fourteen (14) of these tires under the warranty and have had to purchase a warranty with each replacement tire.these tires are the only tires i have ever owned in almost 40 yrs of driving that have developed sidewalk bubbles.i have other tires from a different manufacturer with the same size tire on a different vehicle and they have not developed any sidewall bubbles.these tires are a safety hazard and should be recalled and replaced by goodyear/dunlop.the first bubble was 6/14/13 and the latest bubble was 9/8/18.

I reported the incident to toyota and got file#200208160275 and to dunlop and got report#568588, none of the two seem to really care about the problem, toyota mentioned it was a dunlop problem and that toyota does not warranty the tires, dunlop mentions that i have to take the tire to a dunlop dealer and they will only replace the tire blown but not the one at the other side of the car.we feel really unsafe with these tires as there was no visible casue to the problem except for the heat and the speed, we almost lost control of the car.

Exact model of tire is not found in the drop down menu.dunlop sp sport 01 a/s.size 225/40r18 92h.a bubble in the sidewall developed after 9,000 miles with no accident.this weakness in the tire can very easily lead to blowouts.if the bubble occur on the inside of the tire, it can go unnoticed.this is a common problem with this specific tire and many vehicles use this tire as the original equipment.

Dear sir i have recently bought a new mazda 6 car fitted with dunlop tires sp2050 .while i was driving on the high way the right front tire blew out and causes a hole between the tier wring and the surface that touch the road. Although the car was moving about 80 kmph. My family and myself life was exposed to danger when this incident was happened. The car is brand new it was made only 16,400km. When i went to claim for tier replacement but both mazda and dunlop agents denied responsibility that this is a defective tier.

This is the 3rd "run flat tire" within a 3 month period that could not run flat even a mile.

On may 28, 2014 purchased a new infiniti q50.1 week later noticed a bump on the front driver side tire a dunlop 245/40r19.contacted the dealer and they said it must be a warranty issue on the tire.a week later the tire blew up in that bump and i neither the dealer nor the dunlop dealer in pr acknowledged there was an issue with the tire. I had to replace the tire at a net cost of $530 each. About 7 weeks later another tire revealed a bump this time was the rear passenger side tire.the dunlop dealer indicated the bump will allow the use the tire until a road bump matches the exact location of the bump that will cause the tire to break and empty.on 10-04-14 that event happened and another tire got damaged.this again is a dunlop tire 240/40r19 which has engraved on it a number u28t atbr0914.according to the dealer and dunlop tire representative there is no formal recall on these tires, hence i had to replace the tire with a new one, so another $530for a new tire.i am very concerned as a 3rd tire is now displaying a very small bump and i suspect it will develop into the same scenario of the previous 2 tires.the car only has about 7000 miles driven, to there must be a problem.the vehicle was purchased at ambar infiniti in puerto rico.more details, pictures of the tires, and vin # available upon request.

Purchased four new dunlop sp sport a2p195/70r14 tires at 36,157 miles on 05/10/02 fromtoyota dealer in jacksonville, florida.on april 2, 2004, in preparation for a trip to tallahassee, florida (approximately 180 miles), all four tires were checked and each had 32 psi air pressure.on april 3, 2004 (approximate odometer reading 55,000) upon arrival in tallahassee, discovered one of the tires mounted on the left rear was partially deflated and was undergoing separation at three different locations on the sidewall.we took the car to discount tire company, 1507 killean center boulevard, tallahassee (phone 850-894-8473) for replacement of the tire.we were told that the partial deflation was caused by a tire defect that resulted in the side wall separation.was fortunate that the tire did not fail at highway speed (70 mph). While the vehicle was at a local dealer for routine repair, the technician diagnosed that there were bubbles around the sidewall of the front driver side tire and it needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced. The tire manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 5,000.

Complaint for dunlop radial tubeless tires, 205145 r17 (84v) sp sport 01, run flat tires.i was washing my 2007 mini cooper s (with approximately 8,000 miles) and noticed that the left front tire had severe bubbling of the side wall.i took it to the dealer to have it replaced, explaining that i had not had any unusual impact on the tire and that it must be defective.the dealership was unwilling to compensate me for the tire, saying that i had to go directly to dunlop.i had the tire replaced on march 13th, 2008 because i live in an area where driving is a necessity and was worried about the possible outcomes if i did not replace it.it was replaced at assael bmw/mini of monrovia, ca.less than three weeks later, i noticed yet another bubble on the newly replaced tire!again, there was no unusual impact upon the tire wall, no rub marks, and no obvious defects on the outside of the tire.again, because of safety issues, i am forced to have the tire replaced, but am filing an official complaint for each tire, costing approximately $387.00.in addition, over the past two years, i have had three additional dunlop brand run flat tires replaced because of side wall ballooning at my expense.i would advise that all owners of the tires described above carefully check their tires for possible ballooning, as this seems to be a recurring problem that dunlop and/or the dealership is unwilling to acknowledge.

I purchased a 2014 infiniti q50 new from the dealer.the car had approximately 6,500 miles on it when the right front tire side wall cracked.the repair shop noticed that the left front tire had a bubble and also needed to be replaced.both front tires were replaced the week of 5/17/15.one month after the replacement on 6/24/15, the right front tire sidewall cracked again.

Tires were replaced 4 timesa year due to sidewall problems. We have 4 cars in the house and none of the other cars have this issue. These tires cannot handle any potholes. Infiniti took out the road hazard warranty for these tires in their 2015 model q50s.

I have had this car for only slightly more than 6 months, and have had no collisions or other unusual impacts to tires.after only 800 miles of service, my right front tire developed a bulging knot in the sidewall.dealer inspected the tire and could find no indication of "impact" injury so tire was replaced under warranty, as vehicle was only 2 weeks old.now i have discovered 3 more of the tires (lf, rf & rr) have developed similar bulging knots in the sidewall, one of which is the tire that was replaced by the dealer at 800 miles.i drive only on paved city streets, and have never experienced tire failures of this type on any other vehicle that i have owned, so i do not believe that this condition is due to driving conditions.( dot number: dmce22d tire size: 255/40zr17 )

Tire sidewall bubble/blister upon hitting shallow pothole - this is 3rd tire occurance, all with same sidewall blister damage, of the four oe tires delivered on my 2001 mazda protege es. The oe tires are dunlop sp sport 5000m p195/50r16 83 v. Dot identification: dot eulv 4md0901. All tires have been inflated to 30-35 psi at time of impact and the pothole was sufficiently minor as to cause no damage to the alloy rim or any other scrape or damage to the tire. The sidewall blister would form within several miles driving after impact. I've now had to purchase three dunlopreplacement tires to date.

While the vehicle was parkedboth passengers and driver rear tires tread separated.consumer took the tires to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined the tires were worn out. Ply separation occured on the inside of both tires.the problem was found during the installation of new tires. The tire had 3/32 tread remaining.

All 4 tires (dunlop run flat) on my 2004 toyota sienna awd xle limited have (according to the dealer, miller toyota of manassas) become worn on the outsides edges of the tires indicating (according to the dealer) that i have been riding around with under inflated tires and it is my fault.i informed him that the low pressure warning light never came on and that i don't think he was right.i have asked him to erplace the tires under the warranty for faulty equipment and he said that i needed to talk to the tire manufacturer.i told him no and that he needs to take it up with the regional toyota sales rep.i am in the process of doing this now. The dealer (in typical low fashion) pressured me into buying the replacements myself and not attempt any warranty claim.i declined as the 4 tires would cost me $1350 (!!!!!) to replace.that is absolutely unbelievable for minivan tires.my complaint is that this tire wear is not a unique situation as i have read many other incidents of premature tire wear for these run flat tires and that toyota needs to take responsiblity for these problems and replace the tires with something better suited to this minivan.

While the vehicle was parked both passenger and driver rear tires tread separated. Consumer took the tires to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that thetires were worn out. There was 3/32 tread remaining on the tire.the ply's separated on the inside of both tires.this problem was found during the installation of new tires.

Toyota sienna (2004+) awd models use run-flat tires since no spare tire is provided by toyota.these run-flat tires are defective in that they wear out exceedingly fast.mine are nearly worn out at 17k miles on my 2004 sienna.at a equipment and labor replacement cost of ~ $1600 for all 4 tires, this is unacceptable. If you search the internet, this is a well known problem with the siennas using run-flats. Tires should not cost me $100 per 1000 miles driven.secondary issue with the tires is the safety.i have not experieced this problem, but other owners are stating that if the tire is cut, that it needs to be replaced immediately.because run flats are new, there are hardly any places in the u.s. That stock these tires, let alone having the special equipment to install them. You'll see many owners have resorted to buying regular tires for their siennas, then purchasing a spare tire and throwing it into the back of their van.this takes away from the utility of the van a great deal, since storage is a primary selling point of minivans.please investigate this issue.tires should last ~40k miles, and since these run flats are so expensive, replacing every 15k miles puts a huge cost on the owner that toyota never warned new owners.i would expect toyota to cover replacement cost of these tires until a suitable replacement is developed, or find a way to use regular tires and store the spare somewhere on the vehicle without taking up the advertised passenger storage space. Thank you for your support and assistance, -brian armer

Run flat tires are unsafe. 2004 toyota sienna xle awd has oe dunlop sp sport 4000t dsst 'run flat' tires.car has 19,500 miles of moderate driving.dealer refused to rotate and perform alignment at 19,000 miles because tires were too worn.referred to dunlop who elected to do nothing.now, at 21,500 cords are visible on inside edges of front tires.a.the only available replacements (from tirerack.com) are $845 plus mounting and balancing ($142).b.'run-flat' cars do not have spare tires, jacks or tire well for storage, so there is no practical way to switch to regular tires.c.dealer says that toyota will sell a kit that includes a mini-spare.requires reconfiguring rear of van.result means that there is no more storage well under rear seats.toyota will not give the kit to affected owners.they sell it for $1,300.d.a decision to stay with (and replace)the 'run flats' means an out-of-pocket expense of ~$1,000 every year.e.if toyota abandons the 'run flat' consumer is absolutely victimized.f.if the suspension is a culprit, it is a serious safety hazard to a class of owners who generally have infants or young children.nhtsa should act to require toyota to issue recall and retrofit all affected siennas with standard tires and the components to fix flats!.

Lexus gs300/2002. Dunlop sport tires 5000 miles only.left rear tire.separated from the rest of the tire. Total destruction of tire, plus new wheel/disc.investigation by lexus showed large puncture hole on tire. But tire did not deflate it exploded apart?

My wife's 2006 mini cooper s convertibles airbag light stays on. This should be a recall, as i'm seeing. On the internet, that many owners of coopers and bmws have this same problem. Very much a safety issue and be advised that you are officially on notice, that this is a problem.also a tire safety issue included.

The contact owns a 2009 honda fit equipped with dunlop sp sport tires, line size 185/55r 16(n/a). The vehicle was parked when the contact noticed excessive tread wear on all four tires. The contact also noticed bubbles developing on the side walls of both rear tires. The manufacturer of the tires as well as an authorized dealer was notified and the contact was told the tires were on national back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 22,000. The vin was unavailable.

Violent tread separation on dunlop sp sport 2050 at 37,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2012 honda accord with dunlop ste sport avstires, size: p215 60 r16. The contact stated that while traveling 45 mph, the rear passenger tire shredded and ruptured. The contact stated that the tires had been rotated just a few days prior to the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vin was not available. Car constantly pulls to left, even after repeat alignments by dealer.has been services 3 times within 9 months.no improvement has been made.front tires are now going bald after 10,000 miles.

Blowout at 60mph. Tread separated from body of tire for 1/4 circumference of tire. Hole size of tennis ball blown in sidewall of tire.

Run flat tires are unsafe and tread wear life is extremely short. 2004 toyota sienna xle awd limited has oe dunlop sp sport 4000t dsst 'run flat' tires. Car has 19,000 miles and all 4 tires are completely bald. Car has been maintained by the dealer per manufacturers instructions. 'run-flat' cars do not have spare tires, jacks or tire well for storage, so there is no way to switch to regular tires without losing the rear cargo space.i cannot afford to lose this space as this is why i purchased this vehicle.new run flat tires will cost me well over $1100 per year at this tread wear rate.the combination of these tires with this minivan seems to be a serious problem.it poses a huge expense to replace these tires regular and is a serious safety hazard to a class of owners who generally have infants or young children. Nhtsa should act to require toyota and dunlop to resolve this issue satisfactorily.

Thank you for your time, amber weimerskirch.(tiresize: w-10)
