The contact owns a 2016 indian springfield motorcycle equipped with dunlop elite iii tires, size: 130/90/1673h (na). When cleaning the motorcycle, the contact noticed small cracks on both sides of the front tire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

The rear dunlop tire on my 2012 harley electra glide started to lose air. Upon a closer inspection the tire was splitting in numerous spots. The tire is not dry rotted . For safety reasons it was returned to the dealer who installed the tire. He stated he had never seen this happen before. A new tire had to be installed . Uopn inspection the mechanic and dealer stated nothing was wrong with the motorcycle to cause the issue. Dunlop stated it was due to either heavy load(this is a motorcylce not a truck) or running it at low pressure. This is not possible since every time the bike is ridden a full safety check is done before riding! our lives depend on it. The dunlop rep (complaint line i called) stated they will do nothing about it. I have the reciepts for when this tire was put on and also for the new one. This tire should have had at least half it's life left but due to it's failure it wore unevenly and cracked. This happened at the maximum of 100 miles.

Severe front tire instability develops when tire is run at speeed of 70 mph on warm days, numerous motorcycle riders have experienced high speed falls with this new dunlop tire.severe injuries and possibly deaths are occuring.( dot number: tire size: mt90b16 )

Developed a crack in the tire approximately 1 to 11/2 inches in length inside the thread groove running with the thread.you can tell it is not a pucture due to the way it is cracked.it has randum edges.will be removing the tire to return it to dealer were it was for purchase for a pro rated refund.have purchased the same tire from another deal.have never done anything like this before, but am very concerned with the lack of ownership by dunlop to other motorcyclist with the same problem.this is a very scarry problem when you are on only 2 wheels.if you will check the goldwing road ride associations (gwrra) bullitin board you will find number of postings that people are having with the dunlop tires.these being with the 1500 and 1200 goldwing and valkyrie model rear tires all devolpe very simulair slits.too many people have experience the problem to be a none event.dunlop keeps telling people that they have no problem.goldwing rides are a very conservitive group and not wild riders.lossing a tire on a motorcycle is a lot more deathdefining then other vehicle that why i believe this problem needs some type of closure. Thanks for your help.will be more than happy to provide further help or information.ps will be taking pictures of the tire for future reference if needed.( dot number: tire size: mv85hb15 )

Tire is split in seven separate places along the center line.( dot number: tire size: 130/90hb16 )

This is the second time in 2 months. Routine driving the first time. Tire punctured by small screw, this time by a copper shipping staple, just pulling out of my driveway.no tire and wheel coverage, that's another $165 per month for 2 yearsnot covered under warranty, the tube got punctured service dept says the 112 dollar repair is not enough, the tire in question has 300 miles on it. Tire highly recommended because the tire got punctured. You couldn't even push a paper clip through the hole. Tire cost $400 - 112 for the tube kit installed. Service guys say they deal 20% off tire 320+112+tax $4782 months later a staple, size of you desk stapler. Same deal recommend and scare you into no choice, if a drop of water gets in there, or if a grain of sand. Catostrophic, this tire had15 miles on it. So 725 lb brand new bike, fragile tires $400 designed for and made for this bike, by a major tire giant. How many tires do you think they sold because of this.
