Tire was purchased on 9-03-07 at walmart in north myrtle beach. Today is march 6,2008. Driving down the road and get the flat tire shudder. Jack up car, pull off tire, slit my hand on threads on the interior. The part of the tire that is closest to the car is completely bald, and threaded. Mileage at timeof purchase 144,296. Mileage today, when tire blew 150,177.
While driving with my daughter and attempting to change lanes on highway, the front passenger tire popped and car began sliding. As i turned steering wheel to avoid hitting concrete barrier car continued sliding and spinning uncontrollably from the far right lane across other two or three lanes into median ditch, bouncing out onto service road, still spinning until it hit something and spun around finally slowing, which is when i applied brakes to stop car. We were literally in middle of service road. I saw that car had hit curb. I put on flashers, and after taking a moment to gather myself i got out to look at car. The rim was exposed and literally on the ground with tire partially on top. When it was safe i moved car to curb side of road and called for roadside service. I then slowly drove car about 50 feet to enter a shopping plaza where i waited for service representative. The spinning and bouncing of the car left me shaken for sometime, still not totally settled, with bruises; stiff neck; and aggravated already strained hip, leg, and back. My daughter has not given any injuries beyond emotional distress.
The contact owns a 1995 ford taurus.the vehicle has douglas and lomason extra trac a-w, size p205/165r15 tires.the contact purchased two tires for the front of her vehicle in march of 2007.the tires have been making a loud noise ever since they were purchased.the tires caused the entire vehicle to vibrate.wal-mart, from where the tires were purchased, balanced the tires twice and found nothing wrong.the speed was unknown.the current mileage was 180,261 and failure mileage was 175,128.the consumer stated tried switching tires and the same defect still persists. The contact owns a 1998 pontiac sunfire equipped with douglass x-trac a-w tires, size 205/55r16 (na). The contact purchased one tire in november of 2013 and another in january of 2014. The vehicle was taken to wal-mart in february of 2014, where the tires were purchased, and it was diagnosed that the tires were leaking. The vin and dot number were unavailable. It has not caused a accident but the tires are fairly new with about 8/32 tread left on them, but are unsafe to use and are not repairable.any help with information on company recalls would be helpful.[xxx]
