Car was in shop for about a week or two first was told it was catalytic converter stopped up then was told it was something with the motor parts was order and problem was fix then about a week later blower motor went twice dealership didn't know what was wrong with it so they replaced blower motor problem fixed until now same problem, has blown out 3 headlight bulbs was told there is a short in the switch or somewhere but dealer don't wanna look for the problem, motor is tapping loudly like its not getting oil to the lifter was told three times by two different dealerships that the motor is suppose to tap but when i purchased the vehicle the motor was quiet i took it to a mechanic and was told it was the lifter and there's a problem with the motor also oil is all over the top pf the motor around the cap was told by the dealer this is a normal problem thereshould be no oil no where on top of the motor the more oil on top the less oil in the motor which will make the motor blow up these are suppose to be certified mechanics and they are having to many excuses to not fix the vehicle. There is another noise that starts when you first start up the vehicle and dealership is deaf ear to the tapping noise and this noise as well they kept the car for 3 days and couldn't duplicate the noise but the very next day after i start up the vehicles you hear the noise plain and clear, tires on front and back are wearing unevenly dealership wanna says the alignment on the vehicle is straight how is that when im going on my third set of tires now and its 2011. Im working with the gm company to see what the outcome will be on this vehicle. Don't feel comfortable taking this car outta town at all with the motor tapping loud and its loosing oil.

The contact owns a 1986 cheverolet celebrity station wagon.the vehicle has goodyear douglas tires, size 195/75r14.the contact took his vehicle to a tire store for a routine replacement of the front tires.on more than one occasion, when purchasing tires from wal-mart, the tires did not fit correctly due to improper lubrication and mounting.as a result, the tires made a thumping sound when driving.the dot number was unknown.the failure mileage was 350,000.
The contact owns a 2001 chevrolet cavalier equipped with douglas xtrac-trac tires (na), sizes p185/75/r14. The contact was driving 70 mph when the driver side tire blew out suddenly. The tire did not exhibit any leaks prior to the failure and there was no alignment needed. The tire was supposed to be warranted up to 45,000 miles. The manufacturer stated that the tires were not covered under warranty. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage of the tire was approximately 20,000.
I had purchased four douglas brand tires from wal-mart model x-trac 2. Over the past two years three (3) of the tires have had sidewall blowouts, two at highway speed, and one while parked. The dot number on the tires are pjx3011r3507. All three blowouts were preceded by a slow air leak that could not be found and all three had a catastrophic failure on a vertical line from the base of the tires tread, on the sidewall, to just above the bead. Also, in all three cases, there was not evidence of cord separation and bulging at the site of failure.

On 6/4/2008 i purchased four tires from walmart in yuma, az they were douglas tires 205/75r15bwx-trac ii. Walmart installed/mounted and balanced the tires. 5 month's and less then 5000 miles later on 11/7/08 my wife called me to say that a tire was flat when i got there to look at the tire i found that the tire had ripped in six different places from the rim to the tread all the way through. I then looked at the other tires to find that they had indented/impressions in the same pattern around the tire as if starting to crack through like the other one did. Also i was having difficultly keeping the proper psi level in them my vehicle manufacture recommends 35psi, but for some reason these tires will leak out to 20 psi i had to put air in them every month to keep them at the proper level. I went back to walmart the next day on 11/8/2008 after arguing with them they finally replaced all four tires but they used the same brand, and now a month later i'm starting to see the same pattern of indent's/ impressions in the side wall and these tires to leak air as bad as the last set of douglas tires the replacement tires walmart installed are 205/75r15bwx-t. I believe that this brand name has defective tires and this needs to be looked into. I also have pictures of the tires that ripped if i can i will add them to the report but if not just request them from me and i will send them via email. Thank you.
Douglas x-trac tires 205/70r14s.
Four tires tread separation all same tread wear douglas tire 215/70r14i have photos available of today's tire and will photograph the remaining two serial numbers and check for the fourth at the wal mart that replaced it. Property damage was negligible but i was prepared for the tire failure i rotated them to the rear due to the belt wearing through the center of the tread.
I have received two different douglas 215/70r 15bwx-tracii tires.both have separated on me.the tires are no longer usable.i am not happy with the quality of tire.these occurrences happened within 2 months of each other.
Douglas tire 215/75r15, 1200 miles on tires all at 55 to 60 mph.i had them balanced and at slow speed they were smooth.the following day i got on the interstate at 65 to 70 mph and i could hear a loud slapping noise and the car shook.at high speeds the tires must take on a different shape.walmart refused any concession so i'm confined to slow driving until i can afford another set of tires; another brand that is.my tire line is xtra-trac ii (roman numeral 2).you don't give me the option to select that line.i cannot tell while driving which tire or how many tires are becoming deformed while driving.parked, they all look good.
Sidewall of tire blew out. Tires are not even 2 months old.i have seen other complaints about the same issue. Douglas xtra trac ii 185/65/14.
On 02/17/2011,i observed that my passenger side front tire was partially deflated.i inflated the tire as i could not see any foreign object in the tire. On 02/18/2011, i took my car to the walmart store #0548 where i had purchased the (4) douglas(xtra-tracii) size:185 65r14 tires on 12-21-2010, the technician found a pin size crack/break in the weak point of the tire(edge of sidewall where it meets the treads), it could not be repaired since the store policy is not to repair sidewallls, the manager did not issue me a new tire, so i plugged the tire & it is now warping/deformed.
My family and i experience a near fatal accident when a douglas/goodyear xtra trac tire literally exploded off of the rim of our car.the result was there was nothing left of the tire except for a very small piece of rubber on either side of the rim. (ihave pictures of the blown tire).i returned to walmart where i purchased this tire.at first the store looked at what was left of the tire and said they couldn't do anything.then when i informed them that i purchased this tire from them at that store, a salesperson chuckled and remarked was it an xtra trac tire i said yes.another mechanic looked at it and said they would sell me another xtra trac tire.i declined the offer and took by business elsewhere.this was the third tire (douglas/goodyear tire) that blew.in each previous instance the tire shredded.in this instance the tire exploded. In each instance the tire had not reached the warranted mileage that the tire was suppose to be good for.what is disturbing is that walmart is still selling this defective tire to the general public with this known defect.
The contact owns a 2002 dodge grand caravan equipped with douglas xtra trac ii tires size 215-70 r15, dot number (md34jv1r3912). The contact stated while driving various speeds, the traction control was lost. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who stated that the belts failed from the inside out on both front tires. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer notified about the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

I recently purchased a used car in january of 2010.it had installed on it, a set of four douglas 185/70r/13 tires with the manufacture date of 0408 on the sidewalls, and the previous owner stated they were only about 2 months old (bought at wal mart).they are modeled xtra trac aw.well about 3 months ago, i had one completely blow out due to sidewall failure.this blow out damaged pretty much the entire front driver's side of my car.i had to replace my wheel bearing, cv joint, and a bunch of other things i'm not sure about on the inside of the tire area.now the other three tires are bulging on the sidewalls, and the tires only have about 10,000 miles on them.wal mart will not do anything for me, since i do not have a receipt.however if you google these tires, there are pages upon pages of complaints about sidewall failure on these tires.sometimes even just within a month of use.i was only curious if there happens to be a recall on the present set of douglas tires, or if it is only the recall in 1994.if there is not, i think there should be one.i shouldn't have to replace a set of four tires after only 10,000 miles.
