Pulling fifth wheel trailer to myrtle beach s.c. 20 mins out we threw the entire center of tire tread damaging skirting and under side. Tire did not go flat all the way and being double axle trailer i was un aware of problem until we stopped for accident about 20 min. Later. A passing motorist made us aware of problem and we were able to get off at next exit and have spare put on. I checked tire pressure nite before leaving and read 78 psi on all 4 tires. We could have been the next accident. Have placed call to supplier of tire lionshead specialty tire and wheel llc..they say no complaints on this tire to them. Sending me a claims form may or may not be able to help. Tires have 2000 miles and are 17 months old from trailer purchase date. They supply tires to palomino div. Under the trailer name sabra.

Note!!! this is on a columbus palomino 365rl 5th wheel camper trailer by forest river that is not listed in the trailer listing so i listed as a coleman as they listed a travel trailer. Catastrophic failure of an akuret h188 tire while traveling from maine to georgia. We were waved over by a passing truck and found the left rear tire on our 5th wheel camper shredded with damage to the undercarriage and fender. We called roadside assistance as we were on i295 in massachusetts and i did not want to endanger myself with the heavy traffic. We subsequently went to a major mass tire dealer and was told they had one tire of that brand and size in their system and could get it the next day. The tire was replaced at a cost of approximately $130. At that time i went to the camper manufacturer's owners forum and found a very active thread on this particular brand and size of tire. I am very conscientious about tire pressure and load and check pressures along with a cdl type inspection of both trailer and truck before each trip. Pressures for all four tires on the trailers were between 78 and 80 psi cold. After the failure i wanted to be sure of weight and went through a truck scale and was approximately 1300 pounds under the max allowable. If the second tire had blown on the same side due to added stress of lack of weight distribution the camper would have become uncontrollable. This is serious. I have pictures of the failure if needed.

Traveling on interstate at 65 mph during trip.checked pressure in tires before leaving home, as well as for any defects.stopped to refuel after 2 hours into trip and noticed tire low on air.inspected tire and found 6 inch spot where tread was separating from tire and about to blow out.inspected tire and found no puncture.air was leaking from split in tire at tread separation.

Tire blowout with less than 2000 miles on them.did damage to the trailer.

Lost 3 akuret lct 225/75/16 tires in one round trip of approx 156 miles. Trip to destination was 8/12/15, return trip was 8/14/15. The tires were on a 1999 winnebago minnie winnie dl motor home we purchased used. The previous owner stated the tires were put on about 2 years ago. The tires appeared to be barely used with more than 95% or more tread. The unit had sat unused for nearly 2 years. We checked tire pressures immediately upon purchase and took the rig directly to a local service station to bring the pressures up to 70 psi front and 80 psi rear. We checked tire pressures all around before making the trip on both the rvs we were taking. We were only about 20 miles from home on the pennsylvania turnpike when the first tire on the drivers site rear outside of the rig blew out the sidewall. We replaced it with the original spare a firestone. We reached our desitination and camped two nights. I noticed the rear passenger side appeared low the first morning. Before leaving the next morning the men checked all the tires again and found the inside passenger rear to be flat. They got it to the campground maintenance building and went to check it and found it had a belt through the tread. We changed it to a tire we had purchased from walmart the day before. We stopped at walmart on the ride home and purchased a second tire. On the ride home a third akuret lct tire, this time the drivers side inside rear threw a belt and stripped off seriously damaging the compartment behind it.we replaced it with the second walmart tire and got home. We will be replacing all the akuret tires but needed to let someone know because 3 tires with nearly full tread failing within 156 miles is ridiculous.

Belt separation failure of an akuret h188 tire while traveling from massachusetts to georgia. While doing a pre-trip inspection i noticed that the right side rear axle tire was mis-shapen and had an obvious belt failure.i am very conscientious about tire pressure and load and check pressures along with a cdl type inspection of both trailer and truck before each trip. Pressures for all four tires on the trailers were between 78 and 80 psi cold. I had previously scaled my vehicle as a result of another tire failure on the opposite side of the camper and weight was approximately 1300 pounds under the max allowable. If the second tire had blown on the same side due to added stress of lack of weight distribution the camper would have become uncontrollable. This is serious.
