My wife and i were driving on the highway going about 70 mph. I started to hear a strange noise and began to pull over. As i switched lanes there was a loud explosion and the front right portion of the car was scraping along the ground. I got the car to slow down and pulled over. When we got out to look what we saw amazed us. The entire steel belted radial had blown out of one section of the tire. It ripped through all the layers of the tire all at once. I feel very uneasy about the other 3 that remain.

I had cooper roadmaster lt 245 75 r 16 as original equipment on my fifth wheel trailer.from the dot number, i believe that these tires were manufactured in january, 2001.the tires have less than 10,000 miles on them.tires were inflated to maximum pressure (80 psi), and trailer had been weighed at a public scale to ensure that it was below the maximum carrying capacity of the tires.on july 13, i experienced the first "blow out" while driving approximately 70 mph on the interstate.the tread separated from the tire, causing property damage to my rv.i took the tire to discount tire company in broomfield, co, where they replaced the tire.the second tire failed on july 29th, under similar conditions. The tread again separated from the tire, causing further property damage. I took that tire to walmart in fort morgan, co, where i replaced the tire.i also replaced the two remaining tires on the rv due to concern of another failure.both failures occurred during travel to vacation, so i was unable to retain the tires.i did take pictures of the second tire incident.
