On august 16, 2010 at 3:12pm, i received email stating: "after inspection the tire it is not on the recall list."message was sent to mfr. On may 8, 2010:to customer service;i purchased 98t futura 2000 lte part number 8694568 2156516 and when i was on i95, i had to exit to go to the nearest dealer of tires (hoping to avoid a towing bill) being firestone tire place just off of i95 at the palm beach lakes blvd. Area in palm beach county, florida.your tire acted like a flat tire would being on a major highway.your tire was looking very wavy and when taken off the vehicle looked like a partial twisted pretzel.i got my vehicle re-aligned, as well as, purchased a new firestone tire!replacing tire with approx. Less than 30 days from your tire purchase.i was going out-of-town to my dad's home, a trip approx. 100 miles away one way when this happened in route.i kept the tire and at the time i thought it was an isolated defective tire and was going to write to the manufacturer for remedy.i'm just discovering that there is a recall on this particular tire and expect to be compensated for!truly yours, [xxx] and please send any mailings to:[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 1991 buick lesabre.the vehicle has four cooper futura 2000 radial lte tires, size p2-05/70r14 (na).in december of 2008, the vehicle drove roughly as if an alignment were needed.the vehicle would shake and, as a result, two bolts detached from the transmission.the contact replaced three of the failure tires and now have one more to replace.he feels that the bumps in the tires are a manufacturer defect.the current and failure mileages were 96,000.updated 06/08/09the consumer stated an alignment was performed, but yet they continue to experience a shake/wobble in the vehicle. About half a year ago, one of two futura 2000 radial lte on our honda odyssey 2000 started vibrating at around 35 mph. I took the car to a tire shop to have the tire inspected. The tire was rebalanced and all four wheels aligned. The vibration continued until i moved the tire from the front to the rear a couple days later.yesterday, almost at the end of a 1000 mile trip, vibrations re-emerged and got increasingly worse. Checking the side mirror i could see the tire material wobbling. We pulled over to put on the spare tire. At that time i noticed that about a 10 inch strip of tread had separated.
The spare tire which was in the trunk blew up and popped open the trunk and caused damage on the left rear side of the car.also the vehicle experienced 2 tire blow outs, which caused damage to the vehicle.
Complete tread seperation on left front tire - casing remained inflated so no blow out.(tiresize: 225/16)
With about 100 miles on tire, tire size p19575r14 front driver's tire shredded which almost caused a crash and destroyed the rim.please provide further information.

Four cooper futura 2000 lte p205/70r14 tires (dot u9ke xad3906) were replaced onto my minivan wheels on 4/4/2011 after sitting for 16 months in protective bags in my garage.they are touring tires and were swapped out for the cold weather tires that had been on the van for the previous 16 months.on 4/5/2001 the two rear tires lost their bead within 50 miles of being reinstalled.this is perhaps only the third time being put on their wheels.upon inspection by a qualified tire installer it was determined that both beads had failed.the first failure occurred after driving 25 highway miles.at which time the tires was replaced with a new tire.the second failure occurred after the 25 mile return trip during a turn from the expressway exit.both tires were determined to have failed for the same reason by the aforementioned installer.the tires were purchased on 5/24/2007 at pepboys auto store 0289 5630 s. Westnedge ave., portange , mi 49002.
On june 29,2005 my 5 month old son and i were traveling in our 96' mazda mpv north on 291 highway (i was meeting my husband) when my car began to shake. We were traveling approx. 65 mph. As i was getting ready to get over the vanjerked hard to the right causing us to veer through both lanes of traffic.i figured my tire had blown and pulled over immediately.it was a hot day approx. 96 degrees outside and due to where we had to pull over i had to get my 5 month out of the car because we were near an entrance ramp and oncoming cars were cutting it close to the van and i didn't want to risk the van getting hit with my son inside.my brother lenny had just calledon my cell phone moments before theincident so he could come help us.he wasn't able to arrive for 35-45 minutes. The car it had damage to the passenger side back panel - scratches, dents, tearing in the panel itself, the wheel well cover was completely missing, and the mud gard in the wheel well had been torn and mangeled.it was odd that the tire hadn't blown - it was still aired up butall of the tread was off!!! the tread coming off hit the side of my van and did a lot of damage! when my brother arrived he saw the situation and told me to pull through the median to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic and at that time my baby was looking a bit sweatyand hot.i pulled my car through the median and about 1/4 mile down the raod the a parking lot where my brother changed my tire and my husband (had been contacted through my sister-in-law calling the mcdonalds ) showed up to help too.my brother changed my tire and also found tread jammed between my shocks and the tire.unfortuneatly i have found that the company cooper co that makes these tires have had a lot of injuries and crashes (even deaths) with their tires and i happen to have 3 more on my van!they were cooper tires futura 2000 lte p215/65r15 touring tires.they have good tread left on them but i am going to get them all changed.

This complaint wasfiled via e-mail.three days after purchasing and installing four new tires, one of the tires went flat, and a pin hole leak was found in the sidewall, near the bead. Two months later, made a left turn too wide and clipped a curb. This resulted infront right tire looking like it was cut in multiple places through the plys in the sidewall. At the same time, the right rear tire showed a bubble in the sidewall. Pep boys implied there was no defect on these tires, and offered no warranty coverage.cooper, futura plus touring se.the consumer has the defective tires in his possession.
While driving 70 mph consumer noticed a loud noise and smelled rubber consumer pulled vehicle, and notice sidewall separation on right rear tire. Please provide further information.
