I've had 2 sets of cooper tires (cooper cs4-215/50r1795 vput ) on my car in the past 3 years, plus 1 tire replaced in 9 months from date-of-purchase after the original tire from the 2nd set was destroyed, blown-out, from weakness in the tire. Total of 9 tires in the past 3 years. Each and every tire has been shown to be weak and frequently leak air; they also wear down quickly. The 1st set lasted me 47k miles before needing to be replaced. The 2nd set has been on my car a year( feb '10-mar '11), and i've had nothing but problems with them since they were installed. I have made frequent trips back to the tire retailer that installed them (blain's farm & fleet) for tire repairs. I believe these tires are too expensive ($145/tire) and are very defective. This indeed is a safety hazard, and a money waster.

I purchased tires for my 2008 vw passat turbo 4 door sedan. I selected four cooper cs4 touring tires.i bought them about a month ago, september 17, 2012.almost immediately after the installation of the cooper tires, i noticed a pulsating noise when the steering wheel is turned either left or right; the noise frequency is a function of speed.so, two days later, i brought the car back to the dealer.a mechanic checked the tires, wheels, and mounting; he could find nothing obviously wrong.so, i took the mechanic for a ride.he heard the noise, and told me that it would disappear after the tires were broken in or worn in.the noise has seemed to increase of late.i am concerned that the tires may be defective.what do you think?

1- prior to failure was just driving @ 65mph on interstate 89. Clear/clean roads. Clear sunny day. This tire was found to have lost some air 2 weeks after install but had maintained regular pressure since then. Prior to travel on date of failure, all tires were inspected and psi was checked.2- failure was a rear tire blow out. This tire was one of a full set recently installed approximately 3 months and 445 miles earlier.blowout was not the result of running over any road hazard, bump or object. Although i understand the nature of tires this incident disturbs me and the safety of the tire is suspect. Since the tire was destroyed, evidence of sidewall failure was absent, but the treads were not punctured or cut and were free of any foreign objects. The blowout inflicted minor damage to the plastic wheel well lining by causing a crack and a hole measuring approx 1' x 2". 3- the tire was replaced with a new one of the same model. Cooper tires refused to stand behind their product, pointing out that the sidewalls were destroyed therefore so was any evidence. After some research i learned that cooper has had some history of very similar failures in the past and that may explain the unwillingness to acknowledge this as premature failure or to offer any kind of financial adjustment or customer satisfaction. Besides the lack of confidence in the tire and the lack of concern from the manufacturer, i worry that there is a safety issue here. I am thankful that there was no injury in this incident.i am hoping that this complaint and my additional efforts will raise awareness of this potential danger and prompt consumers to carefully monitor any cooper cs4 tires. I urge any consumer who may have experienced an unusual or premature failure of any cooper cs4 tire to file a complaint to assist in discovering any trends and perhaps avoid a serious accident.the tire involved in this failure was disposed of.

This is the second same size cooper tire that has failed the same way in the same time frame. The tire was properly inflated and began to lose air even though it had no punctures in the tire. The tire started to run low and the sidewall cracked and did not deflate but ran with low pressure. I noticed that the tire was low but not deflated. Upon examination of the tire the same cracks appears on the side wall and nothing was hit that had abraded the tire. Both tires were size 215/50 r17 cs4 v xl bw 95 tl. Both tires lasted approx 15-17k miles before failing and approx 2 years in each case. One was replaced by the tire dealer only because i had bought the tire protection policy and the other was no longer covered as replacements are no longer covered after 12k or 1 yr. Both tires could not be repaired as the sidewall has failed.

Bought new cooper 235/60r16 cs4 touring 100v tires on 9/9/08. In may 09 i noticed an uneven "bumping" from the right front tire. I took the vehicle in and two tires had to be replaced because the tread had separated from the steel belt. I noticed a recall for another cooper tire, but not this one. I now have two new tires but i am still concerned about the two original tires that were purchased in 9/09/08. From september 08 to may28, 09 i only put on 1,576 miles on my vehicle, mostly around town. I fear if i had continued to drive on the original tires they may have separated and caused an accident or rollover of my2005 hyundai tucson. Have there been other reports of this tire separating? do i need to worry about the original two tires that are still on the vehicle? note: the description on my bill describes the tires as cs4 touring. I could not find that exact match in the tire description field.

I bought 4 cooper tires in january 09 at the cost of $702.00. I went in on 08/12/09 to have them rotated. I was informed that 2 of the tires were fine, but that 2 of the tires needed to be replaced. These are 60k tires and i have put 7k on them. Cooper states that to replace them i will have to pay 18% on one tire and 15% on the other. My contention is that these were evidently defective tires to begin with that were obviously not safe. I had noticed my car was hydroplaning but could not understand that since they were relatively new.i talked with cooper tires and they say i still have to pay for the tread i used and i feel like that is wrong. Had something happened to me i can guarantee they would have had to take notice then.. A statement was made that by a rep from cooper that i must be an irresponsible driver. I am 62 and i am not hard on my car.it is a 2006 g6 pontiac and it only has 47,000 miles on it. I just want to make it known so that hopefully it will not happen to someone else. I will replace the tires this weekend but i still believe that it should not be at my expense. I would appreciate someone letting me know this complaint has been reviewed.

Tire would deflate on and off. Went in to the shop today to get it repaired. There was a rip in sidewall. Repairmen stated it was a defective tire, not anything i did. Had to buy a new tire.

Tires loose pressure, every 10 days or 2 weeks one or two of the tires is below 20psi this trips the tire pressure warning in the vehicle.

While parked in our heated garage, valve stem snapped off allowing the tire to completely deflate as i washed the tires of my 2008 chrysler town & country.thankfully i was not driving down the freeway at the time of the valve stem failure.this should never happen and certainly not at 34,000.we contacted the local chrysler dealer for repair.

While checking the tire pressure in a customer's tire the tpms sensor/valve stem broke causing all of the air to escape from the tire. The tire was repaired for $45.
