The contact owns a 2012 gmc yukon equipped with cooper tires, tire line: discoverer htp, tire size:275/55/r20, dot number: not available. The contact stated that while inspecting the tires, the rear driverā€™s and passengerā€™s side tires had visible bulges. The tires were not replaced. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The contact attempted to contact the manufacturer but was not able to reach a live representative. The failure mileage was 116,224.the vin was not available.
Was drivingon i-10 back to phoenix had past marana outside of tucson when my suv started to tremble a little bit wondering what that was but before i can pull over the tire blew out and lost control for a second but was able to control it and get pull off to the right of the freeway. When i got off to check there was not much tire and it had made damage to the right side of the suv now i have to take it to the insurance to estimate the damages and cost to repair it.
I seen there is a recall on cooper tires. The cooper tires i have on my truck is not on the list but, on 02/17/2021 one of my front tires did what they claim the tires on recall do. I was driving on a highway and my low tire light come on and instantly my tire went flat and was told it was un-repairable. I had replace that tire and also i replaced the other side so both would have the same trade wear.
Rear driver sidewall of my discoverer ht plus tire split in half. Tire store told me it was an impact tear when nothing was hit/runover needs to be checked into thankfully i was only going 30 miles per hour and stability control had to take over after the tire deflated.
Bubble in tire, filled with air no leaks bubble back the next day.
