The car never seems to hold an alignment. It gives the feeling that it wants to drift over the road (beyond the geometry of the road.) and sometimes suspension shudders over transition joints in roads.

The contact owns a 2003 ford expedition.the vehicle has continental contitrac aw tires (size p27560r17).one year after purchasing the tires, the contact noticed an air bubble on the rear passenger side tire.she returned to the store and exchanged the failed tire.a few months later, she noticed an air bubble on the rear driver side tire.a sales representative from wal-mart stated that the entire batch of tires was defective.the contact replaced the rear passenger side tire with a goodyear tire.while driving approximately 75 mph, the rear passenger side tire blew out and all of the cables were exposed.the contact believes that the tires are unsafe.the dot number, vin, engine size, # of cylinders, and failure mileage were unknown.the current mileage is 97,000.

Purchased a 2001 ford expedition from maroone ford in margate on 11/05/2004. The tires that came with this vehicle were the contitrac aw id # 02t012000.on 04/02/05 while traveling on i-95 at the speed of 55 mphmy left rear tire blew out.i was able to get the truck under control without hitting any other cars and i was not injured. I had that tired replaced the same day and thought it must have been something on i-95that caused the tire to blow out. On 05/21/05 while traveling east on commercial blvd in fort lauderdale florida at a spead of 30 mhp the right rear tire blew out, i drove the truck into tire kingdom and had that tire replaced as well.this morning while parking at worki noticed thread separation lumps had developed on the two remaining tires, at this point i realized something had to be wrong with the tires, and through the internet i found out there was a recall on these tires.i contated the dealership who sold me the truck inmediately and was told they could not do anything to correct the problemp because to their knowledge there is no recall in effect for these tires and that the manufacturer would have to be the one to replace them, but that if i could not wait to then take the truck to the nearest tire kingdom to have the tires replaced and that they would pro rate the cost of the tires.i had both tires replaced this afternoon, again at my own expense. In the past two months i have replaced all four tires on this vehicle, and the dealership has not been of any assitance, they sold me a tire warranty product that does not cover these type of incidents, the product was misrepresented to me and i intend to file a separate complaint with the fla insurance commissioners office regarding that matter. I contacted a naca representative today and was advised to contact ford and to contact your office and file a complaint any assistance you can provide in obtaining reimbursement for the cost of these tires is greatly appreciated.

2004 ford f150 has tire nibble between 50 and 57 mph and vibration at 45 mph. Several trips to the ford dealership did not fix the problem. They replaced 3 rims and 3 tires (contrack). Still did not fix the problem. I placed the spare tire on passenger front due to a flat and it reduced the nibble and vibration by half. I purchased 4 new 20 inch cooper tires and 4 new rims and vibration is 95% gone and slight nibble after 10,000 miles. I will have tires rebalanced and alignment checked and plan the have rear lowered by 2 inches. A friend had the rear lowered by 2 inches on his 2004f150 and helped with stability and vibration.

Have 2007 ford 500 had a flat tire on rt. Rear.took car to dealer to fix. They said it was caused by a cracked wheel. Possibly hitting bump in road.it has 18444 miles rarely driven and has never hita bump very hard or at all.bumper to bumper will not cover the cost, and we believe this is a faulty wheel from factory. Please help.

On 3 separate occasions in past 2 years i have experienced tire blow outs on a total of 4 tires on my 2003 bmw 330xi.all were caused by driving on highways at highway speeds and striking either a pothole or a raised manhole cover.most recent occurrence also cracked the alloy wheel which had to be replaced.bmw says this is to be expected and the "wheels are not designed for hitting potholes".since when are cars only designed for operating under perfect conditions?total repair expense has been nearly $2000.this results from what i believe is a design flaw whereby very low aspect ratio tires are standard on car and do not offer sufficient impact resistance leading to explosive failure of tire and wheel assemblies.this is a significant safety flaw and should result in a recall and consumer reimbursement.owners cannot voluntarily simply fit different safer tires offering more protection as the cars transmission, traction control, and abs would be adversely affected, per bmw.

While driving at 40 mph right front tire blew out, causing, the driver to pull of the road. The dealership has been notified.

Consumer stated thatafter taking a trip vehicle vibrated at high speed.it was discovered that all four tireshad cracks.these tires were placed on the vehicle after the firestone recall.the dealer stated that they could not replace the tires.

1. On july 8th 2009 while returning home from texas at the posted speed we experienced a vibration. I checked the instrument panel for any problems such as the low tire indicator light. Seconds after the right side rear tire exploded and pulled the truck violently to the right as i fought to control the truck and bring it to a stop. The tread had separated from the tire and caused extensive damage to right quarter panel as well as the exhaust. We returned the truck to the dealer and they repaired the damage and replaced the continental tire. I expressed my concern of the remaining tires and they told me that it was an isolated incident and shouldn't have any more problems. The truck and original equipment tires only had 12k miles. 2. On 2/12/10 while driving to cal. Again @ posted speed and no low tire indicator light on. The same conditions as above only towing a fifth wheel trailer. We experienced a vibration and with in seconds the left rear tire exploded and again the tread separated from the tire and caused extensive damage to the left quarter panel. We were very fortunate to bring the rig to a stop with out rolling or causing injury or fatality. Again i returned the truck to the dealer on 2/14/10 and their it sits to this day 3/17/10 and nothing but excuses.

Catastrophic failure and tread separation. Belts were rusty upon inspection (immediately following failure). Remaining wirecoat showed rust remnants impregnating rubber where the wire previously was. Tire showed no signs of imminent failure prior to incident.

My tires were subject to a voluntary recall and when taken to the dealer were found to be defective. I was informed by the dealer that it would be weeks before replacement continental tires would be available so i purchase good year tires. I submitted all the required paper work for a refund and the bill of sale shows the new tires were purchased 10/4/02. I received a reply form letter from continental with a box checked that states; "the purchase date of the receipt you supplied does not qualify. The only previously purchased tires eligible for reimbursement are those tire(s) purchased between august 19, 2001 and october 10, 2002 as stated in your notification letter." i do not understand why they cannot see with their own eyes the receipt i supplied has a purchase date of 10/4/02 and does qualify.

Bought 05 crossfire, does not have "z" rated tires. Checked all crossfires on lot - none equipped with correct tires!

The contact owns a 2012 hyundai elantra equipped with contipro contact tires, line size:p215 45 r17 (n/a). The contact was traveling 42 mph when the low tire pressure warning light illuminated and the passenger front tire was deflated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 4,754.

1. Ford firestone tire recall: 12/2/02 all tires replaced as per recall requirements.mileage: 15750.2. Friday, 4/21/2006: during a road trip this past weekend, my right front tire shredded.i heard thudding noises, pulled off the i-75, checked around my 2001 ford expedition, was unable to see anything wrong. However a few miles later, i realized something was seriously wrong and pulled off of the freeway.i called 911 sometime between 3 and 3:15 pm 4/21/06 for roadside assistance. Tim the towman towed my vehicle off the freeway to a nearby gas station. There he observed that the right front tire had shredded. The shredding process caused damage as follows:a) right front bumper now dangles because screws sheared off apparently;b) tire casing needs to be resecured, since it was flapping. C) there may be additional damage to the undercarriage as well as cables. Est. Mileage: 47600.3. Tim the towman replaced the shredded tire with my full-size spare. He used twine to temporarily support the rf bumper. He temporarily secured the tire casing. The following monday, i called ford customer no-service. They said that a local dealership would need to corroborate my story before they could determine whether ford was liable to replace the shredded tire (and possibly replace all of the others, as well), and to pay for the repairs needed on the front bumper and casing.the tallahassee ford dealership has a poor reputation, so i was permitted to take my expedition to the lincoln-mercury dealership. After hearing my story and examining my vehicle, the service manager said that ford offered no warranty on the replacement tires.even if they had replaced defective tires with defective tires, they did not stand behind their product.he offered to give me a discount on michelin tires (four) to replace the continental tires. He said there was little tread left on the remaining tires.these tires have slightly over 30,000 miles on them.

My new 2003 ford expedition suv purchasedlate june o3, two tires rf anf rr coming apart at 6,400 miles!tires are continental 17" factory new install!i noticed a vibration at 60+ mph 1st day with this suv, advised dealer!dealer re-balanced all tires.problem continued!dealer sent tries to shop for weight road balance?!problem still cont.!on 10/22/03 rf and rr tires splitting on sidewalls around beeds!!photos taken. Ford and continental tire advised.continental stated they will replace two tires only at no cost to me, as of this report vehicle still at dealership waiting for arrival of new tires.ford and continental state they will have defective tires shipped from dealer to them for exam!ford expedition, 2003.- vin # [xxx]-dealer: berglund ford, 834 east main st. Salem va, 24153owner: [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2005 mercury mariner.the vehicle has contitrac aw, size p27560r17 tires.the contact stated that the tires on the vehicle were extremely noisy, the tread was cupping, and there were hairline cracks in the sidewall where the rubber meets the rim.the noise is loud at all speeds, but intensifies while driving 5 - 65 mph.the tires have been rotated and aligned by both the dealer and an independent tire store.the noise worsened after the tires were rotated and aligned.the contact plans to purchase new tires because his wife is afraid to drive the vehicle.the current mileage was 25,000 and failure mileage was 4,000.

Dt:consumer bought this new vehicle in july of 2004, in feburary 2005 hit a slight bump and experienced a flat tire.since then , had 3 more flats tires from very minor ridges in the road.spoke with the manufacturer who offered to replace one tire with org type tires, spoken with manufacturer again, and they offered to replace 2 tires with contipro contact tires, as long ashe bought 2 tires at retail.

The contact owns a 2000 lincoln navigator.the vehicle has continental contitrac aw, size p275/60/r17 tires.while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle shook.she took the vehicle to the dealer to see if the failure was caused by its front end.the automotive technician stated that all four tires suffered from tread separation.the tires were only two years old.the mechanic stated that the tires should not wear out in that manner due to their age.the tire manufacturer has not been notified.the tire failure mileage was 22,000.the vehicle current and failure mileages were88,000.

Last night while driving on the freeway, the treads on our tire came completely off.this caused our vehicle to swerve badly into the lane next to us.fortunately there were no cars in that lane at the time.this could of been a serious accident if a vehicle was in that lane at the time. So we pulled over and called for assistance.

While traveling south on i-95 at approx 65 mph, the passenger right rear tire failed. It appears that the failure mode was tread separation/detachment. The tread ended up wrapped around the rear axle. At the moment of the failure the 2000 ford expedition torqued hard to the right, but control was maintained. Further information on this incident is that the failed tire was a replacement for a recall (nhtsa campaign id number: 02t012000) by continental tire co. And replaced by a ford dealership. The failure of the replacement tire fits the exact description as stated in the nhtsa investigation report.

Catastrophic failure and tread separation. Belts were rusty upon inspection (immediately following failure). Remaining wirecoat showed rust remnants impregnating rubber where the wire previously was. Tire showed no signs of imminent failure prior to incident.

Recall campaign number 05t022000;i have a 2004 f-150 with the continental contitrac tire on it original equipment.i have had to replace the tires after just 35000 miles of life.this is a 50000 mile tire.i feel this recall should be extended to the 2004model year f-150 as well.

I had a tire separation while driving 70 mph.please see tire recall campaign number below.tire recall campaign id number 02t012000i have 5 of these tire on my 2000 expedition.according to ford customer relationship, my vin was not a part of a recall.the tires, however were.dot numbers were verified with continental.there were 596610 units affected, yet ford only is showing approximately 500vehicles with only 300 actualy qualifying.this seems like a game to me as thes five tire were originally on my vehicle.*la

Continental tire p245/65r17 conti trac tr, tread separated during normal driving conditions damaging vehicle (2004 chevy trailblazer) almost causing major accident. Contacted continental, they say its not their problem because tire "experienced impact damage" the tire was a rear drivers side tire, and there has been no impact of any kind.
