The contact owns a 2005 toyota camry. The contact stated that the vehicle had continental touring tires, line size 205/65/r15 (n/a). The tires became completely worn within 10,000 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the failure was caused by the vehicle being out of alignment and the tire pressure was abnormal. The contact took the vehicle to a second dealer where the contact was advised there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and the failure was within the tires. The tire manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 19,999 and the current mileage 20,080.
All four rims, especially the front passenger were defective, but dealer is claiming "impact damage".also, the front two tires have worn either due to defect workmanship or the defective rims.in either case, i have now had to replace both front tires on my new chevy cobalt purchased march 29, 2010.gm very uncooperative, closed all cases due to "cannot contact complainant", which is so untrue.i have provided three phone numbers every time i leave my name.they did reopen the rim and the steering issue.now the tires! what next?

While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact noticed excessive vibration coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test. The mechanic stated that both front tires experienced tread separation. The tires were replaced. The vin was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the tires were out of warranty and they could not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.
