My 2003 ford taurus se; has had a rough idle and rough running when slowing down to stop and when stopped. The engine will act like it is running out of fuel, some times it will just shutdown with no warning. Usually happens under 40 mph.vehicle is maintained by a ford dealer, and has all filters changed before the scheduled time. Also has had transmission fluid changed twice in 60,000 miles along with coolant change as directed by ford. Dealer says that rough idle and hesitation is normal for this v6 engine.but i see that other ford and mazda vehicles using this engine are having same problem. Also have had to replace all 4 continental 215x60x16 tires due to explosive blowout between 35000 miles and 55,000 miles
On a number of occasions the abs system has failed to perform as described by the manufacturer. Upon stopping when the abs takes over my vehicle bucks and sends me bucking through intersections. According to the dealership where i purchased this is the way the abs works. This vehicle also has very poor visibility, there are many large blind spots.*nlm

Spontaneous rupture of continental radial tire.
Went to retailer to get a flat repaired - they told me it was not repairable andsold me a used tire. Within 250 miles after purchase the tread separated - and caused damage to my truck. Neither the manufacturer of the tire nor the retailer would help with the substantial repair costs.
My car a 1999infiniti q45 has 4 continental tires. These were purchased last year and has been used for about 6000 miles. On tuesday august 30 the right rear tire blew out causing the vehicle to slide on the right side and eventually overturn. Is it normal with a steel belted radial for the thread surface to come completely off the sidewall. The affected tire is in 3 pieces with the walls on the rim and the tread completely cut off but still in a circle.
My 2003 ford escape had only 1500 miles on it when the drivers side rear tire blew out on the freeway.i was able to control the car to come to a stop.the continental tire blew out the side.

I was driving on i-94 north of detroit when i experienced a major shaking of the vehicle. I was able to maintain control and as i hit the brakes the vehicle the shaking decreased. It was a scary experience but after the initial shock i was able to maintain control. Had the tire blown out the outcome might have been catastrophic. Upon investigation it was found that the rear right tire had a major distortion. In one area of the tread, one side of the tread protruded by about one inch. A tire dealer later diagnosed it as a 'broken belt'. The tire which is rated at 70# psi for maximum load was inflated to 65# (the vehicle manufacturer recommends 60#). A photo of the tire is at:http://www.reesphotos.com/temp/091003tire04web.jpgthe tire dealer measured 8/32" tread and said it was 25% worn.
Excessive wearing of rear tires on honda crv. "cupping" has occurred on rear tires @ 16k miles. According to dealer, this occurs when tires aren't rotated every 3k miles. I know i requested and believed the dealer had rotated my tires @ 5k intervals, but they don't have any records of this.????? if this is the case, why aren't the other two tires "cupping"? they have 7500 miles on them since they were rotated to the rear position.the "cupped" tires were moved front to "alleviate" the condition and allow them to wear in, according to dealer. This didn't happen and the condition has worsened! they claim there isn't any defects on the vehicle to cause this condition?? i have owned and driven cars for 43 yrs. And have never experienced this condition!!i do believe there is a problem in which honda doesn't want to accept responsibility for. We had purchased a used crv in the past, for our daughter and have had to beg, plead and battle them to honor their "multi point checks & pre-certification" claims and warranty! they are running their advertising "scams" and getting away with it!
The tire (front driver side) on my 2008 ford escape hybrid (which i purchased in june 2007) keeps losing air pressure and i get a warning light on my dash about every two to three weeks.i recently read about the valve stem recall but i never received a recall notice from ford. I am getting very concerned about this particular issue as well as the bigger issue of using sub-standard parts in american cars. I contacted my ford dealer today and they asked me to give them my vin number. After i gave them my vin they told me that my vehicle was not on the recall list. I believe i am being snubbed here and that ford should replace all four valve stems as a precautionary measure.
On sunday, august 5th my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer experienced a complete tire failure.this was the second failure on a tire on my vehicle within a one week period.the first failure was much less catastophic than the second, however, the symptoms appear to be related.as i changed lanes on a busy highway i heard a thumping sound followed by rubber flying into the air.the vehicle to my right slowed to allow me to proceed to the shoulder area.the vehicle handled very well, but the tire was completely separated from the sidewalls.

While traveling on the highway, the tread on my tire completely blew off taking with it part of my bumper and the interior plastic around the tire. Only the steel belts were left.

One continental 265 70r18 had a total tire separation while driving on the freeway at 65 mph.it was on the left rear.there was only 14627 miles on the tire.i purchased 5 of the same tires from metro nissan in redlands, ca on 7-14-07, see their invoice bar #ac238261.i had a flat tire (puncture) in another of the same tire about 2 months ago and was patched.
The contact owns a 2014 dodge avenger equipped with continental steel belt radial tires, size: 225/55/r17 (na). While driving 30 mph over a pothole, the front and rear passenger side tires blew out. The contact discovered that the rims were damaged on both tires. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing where it was confirmed that the tread separated from the front and rear passenger tires. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 21,000. The tire failure mileage and dot number were unknown.
We have at the time 13,750 miles on our new car and the continental conti seal tires, 225/r60 18 are worn out. Continental will only give us $60.00 per tire and they expect us to pay $500.00 to replace. Purchased car in september2004. Continental will not tell us how many miles these tire are to get. We feel that the tires were made with a soft rubber and this is the reason for the failure. Sears inspected tires, and they will not pass pa state inspection. 2/32 on most of tires. Worn to wear bar.
Tire tread separation at 65 mph, 2nd tire in 6 months. Caused damage to vehicle.
