Hesitation (jerking) upon acceleration, usually during turns or while in heavy traffic.this has been an ongoing problem since purchase of vehicle (new). I have taken it in for repair for this problem no less than seven (7) times, but the problem still remains. There is also a popping noise coming from the exhaust system that occurs when the brake is engaged and the vehicle is idling. Attempts to fix these problems consists of the following: charcoal canister shut off valve replacement, leak in coductor sleeve repaired, performed adaptation of the torque converter, flushed automatic transmission and torque converter, replaced torque converter, and installed restrictor in the purge line.additionally, the original tires on the vehicle have been very problematic.i had a blow out on the right rear tire @ 14,190 miles.i then replaced both rear tires.i had another blow out on the right rear tire at 26,400 miles while on the expressway. I replaced that tire again along with the wheel/rim.at 35,522 miles i had a blowout on the front left tire while on the expressway again.i then replaced all four tires, because they all needed replacing at that time.

I have a 2005 bmw 325i that came with 4 continental contisport tires.the car is less than 24 months old and 3 have blown on me.the latest happened today while driving at 65 mph on the highway and the rear right tire ripped apart on the inner tread area forcing me to pull over.luckily i was able to keep control of the car but after coming to a stop the tire was 90% removed from the rim with the other 10% of the rubber still on the back end of the rim.i have been driving for 9 years and never had a blowout with any of the previous 4 cars i owned.these tires are unsafe and i am forced with replacing all the tires to a different vendor.bmw will not do anything to correct the issue as they say it is not their problem however both bmw and continental should be responsible for the faulty tires.there are numerous other complaints i found for these tires on the nhtsa website as well.

I was driving to work and it felt like the car ran over something.this is when i noticed that the tire had ran completely flat with tread splitting all around it.the tire has not been replaced but i have contacted the mercedes service department because the tire has only 22,000 miles.i believe there are defects with the tires because the other front tire has a bubble in the tread.

Rear passenger side tire ripped completely apart while traveling 20-25 mph.*ph*mr

I had an accident on 11/2/08 in a porsche cayman s 2006 with the factory continental tires. The vehicle has less than 4000 miles on it. Coming a low speed corner at about 35 mph the vehicle lost control and slid down a ditch. The tires had separated from the outside edge of the wheel. The vehicle suffered body damage on the right side door and other moldings. The vehicle is currently at a porsche body shop waiting to be repaired.

While driving on expressway alert notification displayed that driver side rear tire pressure was low.these are moe tires so there is no spar tire and should be able to drive at low speed.car was bought new and had less than 17,000 miles on the tires. Found nearest exit from expressway and drove slowly to nearby service station.left driver side tire was flat and would not fill with air at service station.began slowly driving to my home which was about 5 miles away when had to stop again because of tire noise.pulled off street and found driver side rear tire was significantly damaged.(see photo) called tow truck and had car towed about a mile to my home since thisincident occurred on a us holiday. Nail found in tire. (see photo).crack also found in passenger side rear tire. ( see photo)

The contact owns a 2016 audi a8 equipped with four continental sport contact 5p tires, size: 275/35r21 (na). While driving 30 mph, the contact struck a pothole and the front passenger tire flattened. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the tire was replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The dot number and tire failure mileage were unknown. The vehicle failure mileage was 3,500.

The contact was forced to drive the vehicle in the left lane in order to avoid a crash. The vehicle was towed and the tire was replaced. The contact was told by the insurance company the cause of failure and the tire failed at 4,000 miles. The front drivers side tire was installed four months ago. The current mileage was 20,000.

While driving 35 to 40 mph, right front tire went flat.upon inspection it was observed that sidewall had cracked and separated from tread along the entire inside circumference.this is the second time that this has occurred on this car.the first separation occurred at approximately 26,000 miles (complaint odi 769362) while this one occurred at 36,000 miles.

Trouble with conti-sport tires

Aluminum wheels dent easily allowing air leakage from tires. These are the sport wheels on the jag x-type model. I ran over a deer carcass in road and the right front passenger side tire deflated and came off the rim as the car was traveling 70 mph. The car spun out of control and $17.000 of damage was incurred. After the accident it was noted at actually all the wheels had small dents and they all needed to be replaced. Regular tires and wheels were purchased. Tires were made by continental. Aluminum wheels were standard on sports model.

In less than two months two continental tires were damaged by nails.the tires were not repairable.the customer relationship account manager informed me that the roads in the us are not as clean as they are in europe and low profile tires on luxury cars will always be prone to puncture or rupture by sharp objects.consumers need to be informed of this risk by the "luxury" car dealers and the tire vendors. In terms of the state of the roads in the us compared to europe and the depris of nails and sharp objects on our roads, i think this statment is offensive and the tire vendors are just not taking responsibility forthe quality of their products.is there a rating system for measuring the safety of our roads at an international level? is so, how do our roads compare to those of europe and how do luxury cars handle safety conditions on our roads.thank you.

I own a 2000 ford taurus wagon se with oem touring contact as - p215/60r16 - 94t tires.the ford's b-column sticker lists the correct tire inflation as 30 psi, both front and rear. The american tire distributor 2003 tire guide, published by bennett garfield lists the correct pressure for this make and model as 33 psi. I have suffered from severe cupping that i believe to be related to following, the ford inflation specification. I am forced to replace my tires with only 36,000 miles after at least 12,000 miles of chatter from the damaged treads. I no longer feel safe using these tires.

255/40 r19 100hrear driver side tire spontaneously blew while parked.tire side wall shows about 1.5 inch linear mark with irregular border (not cut by a person but occurred naturally).also has a near by person's dash cam video showing gun like "pop" sound when the tire blew spontaneously.

Continnental, sport contact, p215/50r17, dot unknown;while changing a flat tirenoticedinside sidewall had cracks. She then had other 3 tires checked, and all had cracks on sidewall, only on inside of tire. Original equipment on a 200, bmw, 528i with 11600 miles. Possible defect in continental's contisport contact oem tires (size 215/45zr17) that came with my new ford focus svt. I recently had a severe blow out on a highway i-90. Luckily for me, it didn't result in any death, injury or destruction of the property but still there is no excuse for the ultra performance tire to fail in such a short period of time (under 6000 miles.) after further inspection i also discovered that one more tire developed sidewall crack and would have to be replaced.

I've had 2 sidewall blow outs on my continental-sport contact. They are oem on my svt focus. I own two of them, and basically they roughly have blown out the same time around 6,000 and 7, 000 (approximately). I've been driving 18 years with out a flat or a blow out and have 2 alone with this car. They are expensive tires as well as hard tire to find.

Continental tire equipment on 2000 bmw 323 sidewall separated. *mr the two right side tires flattened.on another occasion the rear left tire was destroyed in a similar way. *sc

Tire failed on the freeway going 65 mph. No damage to the tire other than the side wall failure. Sidewall totally separated at the bead leaving the tire attached only to the outside rim edge. Continental has refused warranty replacement even though the tire is less than one year old and less than 6,000 miles. Auto was a new porsche cayman s.

Developed a slow leak in the inner side wall of passenger side rear tire of my sport contact tire.there was only 6000 miles on it.the tire was not repairable and had to be relplaced.this is my second tire to replace on this car.at 3000 miles i had a blow out of the inner side wall to the drivers side rear tire.the dealer states that side wall damage is not covered by the warrenty.at about 310.00 dollars per tire it get pricey.
