Recurring engine noise which is more noticeable during cold weather.under load the engine , particularly at 2000 rpm, sounds like there is a manifold leak or a valve ticking.i have been to my dealer twice(out of business) and two other dealers three times with no satisfactory results.

Bought brand new chevy trailblazer from gm and noticed middle tread wear on all 4 tires around 13k, took vehicle in at 25k since tread was below 2/32 while outer tread fine at 5/32 on all 4 tires.even had tires rotated by dealer when wear noticed around 13k.gm would not cover tires and was not notified to contact tire manuf.contacted tire manuf (continental) and they stated they would not cover anything since i had different tires put on by the dealership now.have documentation from onstar showing proper inflation every month that vehicle has been owned.no one will cover cost or take responsibility for bad tires.

Vehicle has 31k miles. A flat tire occurred and the vehicle was taken for repair. The repair facility indicated that they could not repair the tire since the tread had reached through wear bars. This vehicle has been properly maintained with correct tire pressure and tire rotations. No accident or injuries were sustained as a result of the incident but the tire wear was not an issue at the last service, and if it were not for the flat tire, would not have been noticed until the next service which would have occurred after the start of the snow & ice season. Tire was on the right rear. Left rear tire also showing considerable wear, just short of the wear bars.

Had a continental contitrac 275/70r18 blow out on the highway while towing. It was a rear drive tire on a 2006 f350 diesel. The tire blew right apart, tread separated from the tire, causing entire left side bed damage, resulting in over $3,000 of damage to the truck

After normal, mostly rural, personal, non-commercial use in central texas, the lf tire failed after 16 months and 27000 miles of service.the tread/belt showed an obvious large bulge and separation from the carcass over approximately 10% of the circumference of the outside tread portion of the tire.this was accompanied with audible external noise (at slow speeds) along with a felt bump in the tire and a shimmy on the steering wheel.the symptoms were reduced at highway speed.this was noticed around the last week of october, 2009.it was reported to continental via a local continental tire dealer and the adjustment was 25% off of a new replacement tire.customer service at continental apparently determined that 16 months and 27000 miles was 3/4 of the tires life.three weeks and 400 miles later, the lr tire exhibited the same symptoms and my examination revealed an identical bulge over approximately 10% of the tire circumference.at the time my family & i were driving to the austin, tx airport for a thanksgiving vacation out of state.when i returned eight days later, i again went to the local continental dealer, who confirmed my inspection (this time with steel cords showing at the failed spot), and told them that i no longer trusted the remaining two original tires and would like for continental to replace all four with a different brand of appropriate tires.that request as well as the warranty replacement of the second defective tire is incomplete at this time.continental tire customer service has already said that they will not consider any adjustment until the tire fails.if it fails on the highway at highway speeds, the consequences could be dire for my family or others.as can be imagined, i am not so happy about the situation.

The outer side of the side wall blew completely out.no tire damage.side wall blew out all the way around the tire.

The contact stated that the side walls had become separated from the tire. Prior to the failure, the contact noticed that an abnormal wobble noise was being emitted from the tires when driving. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage of the tire was 51,000 and the failure mileage on the vehicle at the time of the failure.. ....updated 05/23/12 consumer stated two tires on vehiclefailed within 1500 miles of each other (first one failed on drivers side and second on passenger side rear). Consumer contacted continental tires about having tires replaced but because warranty had expired continental tires would not replace them . Consumer called nhtsa and filed a complaint. I have tires on my chevy trailblazer that are wearing in the middle of my tire. I am scared to drive far on these tire since i have never seen tires do this.

Driving on highway and tire tread came off and did $1,700.00 worth of damage to rear quarter panel and bumper. Continental tire agreed to pay damages but not replace tires. I have not received reimbursement for damages, i have been waiting over 30 days for the check which in the letter they sent stated i would receive it within 8-14 days. I feel they are giving me the run around.

Driving along highway 50, outside sacramento at about 65mph in the early evening on 9/21/08 when i heard a loud popping sound and the back end of the truck began to swing out of control.i managed to remain in control and get to the edge of the freeway.when i looked at the tire, the tread from the back driver's side tire was totally gone, but the tire was still inflated.the tread had caused quite a bit of damage to my back panel and bumper assembly.

Tires are defective with cupping causing vibrations tires look swollen and uneven threading. We took the car to check suspension system and they say everything is fine. I know that it is the tires. Truck tends to shimmy uncontrollably after hitting bump 55 to 70 mph, when the truck had 2500 miles shocks were replaced helped problem until 15,000 miles returned to ford. Tsb for problem was to install shimmy damper on lr of truck. Not installed due to camper tie downs. Problem continued to get worse, undriveable above 55 mph at 27,000 miles. Problem does not occur when heavily loaded ( cabover camper) tire pressure not a factor loading is. I address the problem and the shimmy was related to one particular tire being mounted on the front. Further investigation revealed a belt separation in the tire. All the tires had some degree of belt separation. Replaced tires problem cured somewhat. The truck still exhibits the tendency to shimmy especially when lightly loaded no matter what the tire pressure is. I am a ase certified master tech and have cured 2 other vehicles. All three vehicles still exhibit the shimmy tendency but self dampen with good tires. All three vehicles had continental 275/70 18 tires oem. The shimmy tendency seems to be enhanced with the continental tires fitted and get worse with wear. There seems to be a resonance in truck front suspension that gets synchronized as the tires wear and or get a belt that is not quite true. The vehicles were all 05 & newer f250 or 350 4x4 srw with the 275/70 18 tires. All three vehicles have been made better by replacing the continentals with michelin ltx at 2 tires. They all still have identical characteristics as follows, tendency to shimmy but self dampen with the michelins fitted. Are sensitive to front axle load, more weight on the axle less tendency to exhibit the tendency to shimmy, tire pressure does not seem to be a factor contrary to fords campaign 09l02. I am concerned this campaign advocates over inflating tires with light loads as cure for a vehicle or tire defect that needs further investigation. Have more of a tendency to shimmy as the tires wear.

Purchased 4 lt continental conitrac 275/70r18 tires/ford oem wheels from barney's tire and wheel in temecula, ca for my 2003 f350 ford truck. These tire and wheels were in new condition. June 2, 2011 i had dinsaur tire located in calimesa ca replace the left front tire due to tire separation.neither i or dinosaur tire were aware of the continental tire recall.march 22, i had the left rear tire separate and again contacted dinosaur tire to schedule a replacement. Again, they were unaware of the recall.thinking two tire separations were odd, i performed a search on the web for problems related to these tires and discovered continental had recalled certain tires.emailed continental the dot numbers of the tires and they confirmed with a email thesewere tires subject to the recall and i was directed to contact an authorized dealer.contacted dinosaur tire (authorized dealer) and faxed all correspondence to them.they were still unaware of the recall and did not know the process to file a claim.dinosaur tire called continental with me in their company to get an authorization.unfortunately and wrongfully, continental will only prorate the remaining three tires because there was a compliance date of october 15, 2011 and stated all persons who purchased the tires were contacted.had the authorized dealer dinosaur tire been made aware of the recalled tires last june, i could of replaced the 4 tires without any fees and free of charge.however, because continental failed to communicate this to the public and authorized continental dealerships, demonstrates a lack to take full responsibility to the public for tires the public accidentally came in possession of, and sold by unaware tire companies. Continental would not provide any reimbursement for the tire replaced last june, 2011.again - failure to communicate the recall to the public demonstrates a lack of responsibility.

The third time a valve stem cracked and leaked while driving on my 2007 ford expedition.

I have experience 3 valve stem failures on continental contitrac tr tires; model p265/70r17 113s on a 2007 ford expedition . The valve stems apparently are the chinese model tr-414 stems that have been discussed in several automotive newspaper columns.today (6/9/09) i received a letter from ford motor company notifying vehicle owners about this problem.the ford representative said since this is not a recall, there is no provision for monetary reimbursementto vehicle owners who have had the valve stems replaced.ibelieve this is a safety issue and nhtsa should consider a mandated recall for all tires using these poorly mgf. Valve stems. My stem leakage problems have occurred on april 9, april 23 and june 9, 2009. I have rotated my tires every 3000 miles and they have approx. 21620 miles wear. Fortunately i have a tire pressure monitoring systemthat alerted me to the problems before the tires went completely flat or before i was stranded on the highway.

Driving down interstate going approximately 65 mph when we felt a strong vibration coming from the rear of the automobile, as my husband let off the gas the back passenger tire lost all pressure and the suv began to swerve, my husband being very experienced allowed the car to slow to about 40 mph before hitting the brakes keeping control of the car.vehicle was 08 expedition with approx. 1000 miles on it, we had owned it for less than a month.we changed the tire, which had a hole all the way through which caused immediate dispersion of air from tire.the hole was a perfect circle, all the way through the tire as if it had been plugged.we took the tire back to the dealership, they accused us of hitting something.there was no object inside the tire that had been fully penetrated, and as i stated before the hole was a perfect circle.

After normal, mostly rural, personal, non-commercial use in central texas, the lf tire failed after 16 months and 27000 miles of service.the tread/belt showed an obvious large bulge and separation from the carcass over approximately 10% of the circumference of the outside tread portion of the tire.this was accompanied with audible external noise (at slow speeds) along with a felt bump in the tire and a shimmy on the steering wheel.the symptoms were reduced at highway speed.this was noticed around the last week of october, 2009.it was reported to continental via a local continental tire dealer and the adjustment was 25% off of a new replacement tire.customer service at continental apparently determined that 16 months and 27000 miles was 3/4 of the tires life.three weeks and 400 miles later, the lr tire exhibited the same symptoms and my examination revealed an identical bulge over approximately 10% of the tire circumference.at the time my family & i were driving to the austin, tx airport for a thanksgiving vacation out of state.when i returned eight days later, i again went to the local continental dealer, who confirmed my inspection (this time with steel cords showing at the failed spot), and told them that i no longer trusted the remaining two original tires and would like for continental to replace all four with a different brand of appropriate tires.that request as well as the warranty replacement of the second defective tire is incomplete at this time.continental tire customer service has already said that they will not consider any adjustment until the tire fails.if it fails on the highway at highway speeds, the consequences could be dire for my family or others.as can be imagined, i am not so happy about the situation.

2007 ford expedition, from august 2008 to october 2008, on four different occasions each a different tire, low tire pressure indicator came on.spare tire was put on, flat tire taken to ford dealer, valve stem replaced.

I have experience 3 valve stem failures on continental contitrac tr tires; model p265/70r17 113s on a 2007 ford expedition . The valve stems apparently are the chinese model tr-414 stems that have been discussed in several automotive newspaper columns.today (6/9/09) i received a letter from ford motor company notifying vehicle owners about this problem.the ford representative said since this is not a recall, there is no provision for monetary reimbursementto vehicle owners who have had the valve stems replaced.ibelieve this is a safety issue and nhtsa should consider a mandated recall for all tires using these poorly mgf. Valve stems. My stem leakage problems have occurred on april 9, april 23 and june 9, 2009. I have rotated my tires every 3000 miles and they have approx. 21620 miles wear. Fortunately i have a tire pressure monitoring systemthat alerted me to the problems before the tires went completely flat or before i was stranded on the highway.

The third time a valve stem cracked and leaked while driving on my 2007 ford expedition.
