In late may 2015, i noticed a bubble in my driver's side rear tire. I took my car to the dealership and they insisted that it was my fault. I had to pay to replace the tire. Now, not even two months later, i now have a bubble in my passenger side rear tire. The tires are from the same batch. The tires are continental contiprocontact 215/55r16 93h tires. With these being potential blowouts, these tires are unsafe. The bubbles must be a defect.i never had issues with the tires on my old car.
Purchased my 2011 outback in july if last year. I have taken it to the dealer on several occasions due to a vibration in the steering and thumping in the tires...almost like there was flat spots in the tires. They first told me it was flat spots and it may take up to 3000 miles before it would quit, however it never did and got worse. I took it back 2 more times and they finally did a force balance and put a vibration kit on the steering. My steering wheel does not vibrate/shimmy any longer, however the rest of the car still does. They had to replace 2 of the tires after several force balances. I have told them that the car still has the thumping...you can"t hear it, but you feel it, and the vibration is still there. You don't notice it as much at a lower speed, but when your speed increases you sure can. They are telling me there is nothing else they can do. How is that? it was a brand new car, and i called them and let them know of the problem right off. They have tried to fix the problem, but it's still there. This is a $30,000 vehicle, and is a lemon. I need to know what i can do. I know it's been almost a year, but as i said every time i mention it at my oil changes they tell me there is nothing more i can do.i have listed my personal information below. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.[xxx]- car is in my husband name [xxx][xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have a number of complaints regarding the power steering on my 2009 toyota corolla. To begin with the steering isextremely unresponsive. At low speeds the steering is extremely loose feeling. This has resulted in a couple of near accidents in parking lots where i was barely able to maneuver out of the way in time. At higher speeds the steering is stiff and difficult to steer. It seems like these problems are getting worse over time as well. I put very few miles on the car and take very good care of it as it is in almost mint condition. There is very little wear and tear on my corolla at 6,500 miles. The extremely unresponsive steering on the 2009 toyota corolla makes defensive driving very difficult. It makes compensating for other drivers actions and mistakes by avoiding them very difficult and is a dangerous vehicle to drive as a result.

Approximately 2 weeks ago i received a message on my dash board to correct the tire pressure in my new 2008 mercedes benz c300 with less than 4000 miles. I inspected the tires and noticed a bulge in the sidewall of the rear tire on the passenger side of the car. I called the dealer and was told that it wasn't covered under warranty and i have to purchase a new tire, which i did. Now approx 2 weeks later, i have a bulge in the sidewall of the front tire on the passenger side of the car. The tires continental contiprocontact 225/45 r17 91h cost approx $280 each to replace at the dealer. This has got to be a defect from the tire company.tire brand: continentaltire line: contipro contacttire size: 225/45 r17 91hcomponent: sidewall bulge dot code: lm7r pxh6 3707tire was mounted on: 2008 mercedes benz c300 4 door.

The tire manufacturer was also notified of the failure and stated that the failure was due to a road hazard. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 900.
Tires wore out and were bald at approx 24,500 miles. Product came new on new vehicle 2009 nissan versa. Tire manufacture denied warranty covering wear/tread even though tires are sold with 60,000 mile or 6 year warranty. Tires were rotated/balanced in accordance with regular maintenance.
The contact owns a 2012 (na) buick encore equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, size: p215/55/r18 (na). The contact stated that two of the four tires continued to lose air pressure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The tires were rotated, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. Dear sir/madam,i have a serious complaint against the continental contiprocontact tires that came with my mercedes benz e550 and also the new ones i recently purchased. The car has only 20k miles on it and the side walls on the tires are very weak. I had 1 bubble each develop on 2 of the tires that came with the car after driving over 2 small potholes recently. I also had a sidewall issue on the third tire that came with the car and the new one i just purchased. The recent incident was the worst where both sidewalls burst open when i hit a pot hole. I really think that the quality of the tires is very poor because it seems to be impacting the sidewalls. I would like to discuss this with someone at the supervisor and director level because this is a very serious complaint.i am also going to place a complaint with the indiana department of transport for their lack of fixing these pot holes on-time. I am thoroughly disappointed with the road conditions.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I was driving on ih 10 insan antonio going approximately 65 miles per hour in my 2013 ford escape that i have had for just over a year.i have approximately 19,500 miles on these tires.my rear passenger tire blew out (literally the tread blew right off the sidewall) and ripped the plastic skirting off my passenger side of my car.we changed to the spare and took the car to the dealership where i was told my continental contiprocontact tire would be sent back to continental to determine if it was covered under warranty- after reading the multiple complaints, we will now be changing all 4 of our tires (this is after spending about $175 yesterday on a new continental so that we could attempt to file a warranty claim). The tire in question is continental conti pro contact 235/55r 17.at this point, the best that we can hope for is that they will give us "up to 62% reimbursement" per the dealer because of my mileage, regardless of the fact that there was plenty of tread depth left on the tire and i had not punctured it or run over anything other than roadway.
The contact owns a 2015 honda odyssey equipped with continental tires, tire line: procontact, tire size: 235/65/r17 n/a, dot number: a3873vm. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, there was an abnormal bouncing of the driver's side front tire. The contact noticed the tread had separated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnosis or repairs. A continental tire distributor was contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000 both on the tire and vehicle.

My wife was driving. Shortly after getting on the interstate, her rear driver side tire blew out (the whole rim was detached). She did not hit anything and she was not speeding. Investigating the parking lot that she pulled out of, there were black marks. We live right off the interstate. The dealer identified a second tire with a flaw in the wall of the tire. 2 tires had to be replaced. This was a brand new vehicle with ~20,000 miles on it (mostly interstate driving). We found similar issues with this brand of tire though google searches and believe the tire should be recalled before someone dies. The company was unwilling to work with us on the issue. I would like to share the photo of the blow out with you. We brought the vehicle to the dealer that evening. We asked the next morning if they would save the tire, but discarded them already. The manufacturer of the tire refuses to work with us because they felt since we did not have the physical tire or "evidence" it was not their problem.
The contact owns a 2010 bmw 328i equipped with continental contipro contact tires, size 205/55/r16, dot number: 1lt4 bxh62711.the contact stated that all four of the tires would consistently loose air and the tire pressure warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer replaced the tires, but the failure persisted.the manufacturer was not contacted.the failure mileage was 4,000 and the current mileage was 7,000. Updated 11/17/11 the consumer stated that the failure has been on going since the date of purchase. She also stated the tires must be checked on a weekly basis. Updated 06/13/2012
My 2011 subaru outback came with oe contiprocontact p225/60r17. This is a tire of continental that has an 80000 mile warranty. These tires on my car wore down to the tire replacement indicator at 36750 miles. . i call continental and was told that oe tires on new cars are for defect only, not mileage. I feel this is a total ripoff on the part ofcontinental tires and a total misrepresentation of matter.when the retail tire has the 80k warranty. I feel continental should reimburse me the pro rated amount on the $724 spent on the exact replacement tires i purchased.
Continental pro contact 215/55/18 unknown damage according to dealership.2nd occurrence within 2 months.tire unable to be repaired.dealership unable to find cause.leasing buick encore 2013.
I was driving on the san mateo bridge at approx 65 mph, while on the bridge my tpm alarm came on then immediately after the backend of the car started to swerve. I pulled over asap and as i came to a stop the tread portion of my rear tire came bouncing past me. After getting out of the car, i saw my car sitting on the rim.later inspection of the tire and sidewalls showed no other damage except that the tire appeared to come apart right along the edge of the tire where the tread meets the sidewall. In comparison to the other tires, the style or model of tire has a sidewall groove in the mold. It appears that the tire failed along this groove on both sides of the tire.no other puncture marks or other sidewall trauma was present. Along this same groove on the other tires, the rubber appears to have imperfections, little bubbles and voids in the rubber that appear as if the rubber did not fully fill the mold for the tire.i still have the tire and sidewalls for inspection & pictures that can me emailed.
The contact owns a 2008 ford fusion. The vehicle has continental, contipro-contact tires, size 225/60r17. The dot number was p5xv-46mb. The contact was driving approximately 15 mph on april 6, 2010 when the passenger side front tire exploded. The road conditions were not a factor. The vehicle was driven to the side of the road with caution. The identical failure previously occurred with another tire. A ford dealer advised the contact that they were unable to find a defect in the first tire failure; however, it could be replaced at the owners expense. The tire was replaced. The most recent tire failure had not been diagnosed by the dealer when the complaint was filed. The failure and current mileages were 17,500. Updated 05/13/10 the consumer stated the dealer informed her that the tire did not blow out and to disregard the complaint. Updated 05/14/10

While driving in the interstate my rear driver's tire went flat.i bought my nissan altima brand new approximately 3 months ago and there are only approximately 2400 miles on the tires.upon inspection, it was found that the cause of the flat was splitting sidewalls.additionally, the front passenger's tire is also starting to show signs of splitting sidewalls.
Contiprocontact tires on a fiat 500. So far my wife has suffered two catastrophic blowouts on interstate 285 in atlanta of the side-wall in under 6000 miles. Had to replace/buy both tires. Fortunately she was driving slow enough to keep the car under control. But now i fear for her life every day she drives back and forth to work.
Four new continental contiprocontact tires were purchased and installed on my 2000 vw jetta.after approx. 2 days, one tire went flat while driving at low speeds. Tire sent to seller, and they pronounced it was an installation issue. This tire was sent to seller, after purchasing a new one.after 4 to 5 weeks of driving, a second tire (different wheel) from the same original set of 4, failed suddenly.this tire "suddenly" failed with a "gun shot" like noise while the vehicle was stationary.review at the service shop showed nothing unusual in the installation.pictures of the second tire were sent to the manufacturer, and they commented that this was an install issue.i work for an automotive engineering company, and had one of our expert technicians review the second tire.he has 30 years of service experience within chrysler dealerships.he was convinced that this was a tire defect, had never seen such a failure, and stated that this type of failure would not happen during installation.this was based on the loose condition of the steel ring on the inner tire, and the fact that their were no witness tool marks on the outside of the tire. The original installer of the tires also stated that the rubber on the inner bead of the tire was "too thin" and of poor construction. I have the second tire in my possession, and have requested the original first tire back from the seller.i have not yet received this, nor have i received any formal conclusive report with measurements and analysis to prove their conclusion.right now they are only stating their personal opinion, without thorough analysis.i am still driving on the remaining tires with an "uneasy" feeling that i am at risk of another catastrophic failure.i am only after the truth in this matter, and up to now have felt as though it has not been presented.i didn't create this failure, and i have a hard time seeing how the installer, who does this for a living, could have done it to 2 tires.
Under normal, urban driving conditions on paved roads and highways, we've had three (3) sidewall failures on front tires.a 2014 mb e350 sport sedan with 18" amg wheels and continental procontact 245/40 r18 tires.in each case, we noticed the bubbled sidewall before any incident.tires had 70% tread remaining with approx 10,000 miles.failure occurred on front tires only.
This is part 2 of original complaint # 10422477.since i have a 2nd defective tire.
The contact owns a 2008 ford fusion.the vehicle has continental contiprocontact tires, size 225/55r17.the front passenger tire blew out while driving 35 mph.the driver pulled over to the side of the road and someone assisted her with placing the spare on the vehicle.the driver went to a wholesale club to purchase another tire and was informed that there was a defect in the inner liner.the defect created bubbles in both the front passenger tire (which had already blown out) and the rear passenger tire.the dealer stated that it appeared to be tire damage instead of a defect.the manufacturer began to create a case for the failure, but sent it back to the dealer.the current mileage was 1,954 and failure mileage was 1,944.
Sbrp215/55tr17 continental conti pro contact all-season tires on my 2011 nissan altima coupe. I've had issues with the tires and the check tire pressure light since i purchased it in october 2010. I've had it in to the dealership on numerous occasions and the problem was never completely resolved. The light was a daily occurance and at 20k i considered trading the vehicle in because i didn't feel comfortable drivingthe vehicle. It felt unsafe - even on dry pavement.i finally bought new tires at 30k miles because i was tired of having to put air in the tires every morning. That is half of the expected life of the tires. The tire had a leak that caused moisture to get into the tire and corroded the sensor. Nissan claims they will not replace the sensors in cold weather climates even though it is still under warranty and i have reported the tire issue to them numerous times. The weather has nothing to do with the sensors seizing. If the tires were not defective the sensors wouldn't corrode. Replaced tires and sensor at 30,990.
Driving approximately 30-35 mph on dry, flat pavement...no potholes or road hazards. Heard thump from rear tire on passenger side (thought something fell over in trunk). Drove approximately 1/2 mile to home and when exiting vehicle heard hissing noise from tire. The tire has a slit in the tread/sidewall of approximately one-inch in length.
Regular car operation on typical roads, all 4 tires bought 2007, 30,000 miles haveinner wallaxialcracks wide and deep all the way around the circumference of the tire and require immediate replacement before an accident happens.
I have a subaru outback 2011 with 16,000 miles on it.the non driver-side tires have bubbles on them.i detected this saturday, august 20, 2011.there has been no accident or mishap, yet.however, since i had to order 2 identical tires to use with the 2 good tires, i noticed that these particular tires are on back order from the manufacturer and wondered if there is any record of any significant amount of tire failures with this tire?the tires are continental 225/60r17 contipro contact tires.
July 23rd 2016 my tire had a leak from unknown reason , had it replaced and had a leak again on same wheel on august 5th 2016 same type of leak , continental contiprocontact size 245/40/18 97v size

Second was at 23 months and 15,097 miles. Third at 24 months and 16108 miles (blow out @ 60 mph). Fourth discovered when replacing third one.
The continental tire on my 2008 mercury milan has developed unusual sidewall cracking and deterioration.the defect cannot be traced to weather, chemical, or physical damage.it is most likely a result of improper curing or other manufacturing defect.the other tires on the same vehicle do not exhibit any unusual sidewall cracking.the vehicle is equipped with tire sensors and routine pressure checking has never revealed any under-inflation.
My 2010 nissan versa, with less than 10,000 miles on it, has steel belts popping out the sidewalls of the continental contipro contact p195/55 r16 tires.both front tires have belts popping out. The dealer (empire nissan) has not offered an acceptable solution.the tires are supposedly 60,000 mile tires, but the dealer, in conjunction with the manufacturer, is only offering 25% off list price to replace with another set of continental (crap) tires.there has not yet been an accident, but i am uncertain of how dangerous this condition is.i just noticed the problem 4 days ago.i have photos.
Brand new tires on a brand new 2015 ford escape titanium.the tires on this new car are the continental contiprocontact.the right rear tire had a flat when my wife was driving it.the flat was on the side of this tire near the rim and there was also air leaking from the edge of where the tire and rim meet.only 1,600 miles on this car when we had this flat.do not recall driving over anything that would have caused this.slash/slit was on the side of the tire near the rim and then also the leak on the edge as i mentioned.i could not enter a 2015 ford escape titanium awd so i had to select a 2014 ford escape, but our car is a 2015 ford escape titanium awd.
Upon inspecting the right front tire of my 2010 audi a6, i noticed a "bubble" in the side wall of the tire. The bubble was about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and bulged about 1/2 inch outward. Because this can compromise the safety of the tire, i requested theaudi dealer replace the tire with a new one. Mileage at time of failure 6500.

I purchased a brand new nissan versa sv on may 11, 2013. On december 1, 2013 i was driving on the highway and all of a sudden i could feel my steering wheel pull to the left. Then the entire car started shaking vigorously. My back left tire had blown out. My car only had 6,200 miles on it, my tires are suppose to be good for 60,000 miles. I took the nearest exit and parked in an apartment complex. Thankfully roadside assistance came very quickly. The person who assisted me was shocked that i wasn't in an accident and no damage occurred. When he took the tire off, we looked for damage to the tread, a nail or something that would have caused the blowout. There was no damage to the tread. The tire literally came apart from the side (the part of the tire you see when looking at the car from the side). I believe i have a defective tire(s) and i feel unsafe driving with these tires. Because of this, i do not recommend the continental contiprocontact all season tires.
We have had 4 tire failures with our continental tires. There have been 3 blowouts and a bulge in a sidewall. Two of the blowouts occurred at speeds less than 25mph over small potholes. Tires had 6000 miles and 100 miles on them for the low speed blowouts. No bent rims. All deemed as road hazard. Bulged tire covered by buick dealer. I paid half for first blowout, all of the first low speed blowout, and continental covered the last because the tire only had 100 miles on it. First two tire troubles started when the car had 7200 miles on it. The next one had 6000 miles and the fourth had 100 miles on it. Contacted continentaland they denied any problems with the sidewalls on this line of tires.
2012 audi a7; 4 sidewall "bubbling" blowouts in a year. Being very careful to maintain correct tire pressure, and normal city driving. Two blowouts occured when car was in park. Vehicle dealer maintains blowouts are due to road hazards and they are not responsible.
Right front tire was replaced at 20k for bubble that formed on the side wall after hitting small pot hole; right front tire needs to be replaced now for the same reason.

This is part 2 of original complaint # 10422477.since i have a 2nd defective tire.

2012 audi a7; 4 sidewall "bubbling" blowouts in a year. Being very careful to maintain correct tire pressure, and normal city driving. Two blowouts occured when car was in park. Vehicle dealer maintains blowouts are due to road hazards and they are not responsible.
While crossing the betsy ross bridge right rear tire deflated.inspection revealed sidewall had ruptured, replaced tire.event occurred oct. 15th. No damage was visible to thread surface.while driving home from work at midnight hit a pot hole and left front tire deflated within a mile.sidewall damaged, has to be replaced. This occurred today nov. 2nd.tire size 245/40r18 93h . The car is a 2005 stype.noted, tire has a single side wall and is crap.have only owned the car for 40 days.
Regular car operation on typical roads, all 4 tires bought 2007, 30,000 miles haveinner wallaxialcracks wide and deep all the way around the circumference of the tire and require immediate replacement before an accident happens.

Right front tire was replaced at 20k for bubble that formed on the side wall after hitting small pot hole; right front tire needs to be replaced now for the same reason.
3 continental contiprocontact tire failures and 1 about to fail showing a crack in the sidewall. All 4 were original equipment on the car. First failure was at 7 months and 3,463 miles. Second was at 23 months and 15,097 miles. Third at 24 months and 16108 miles (blow out @ 60 mph). Fourth discovered when replacing third one.
My 2015 bmw428i has 9000 miles on it and the tires are bald these tires are very expensive to replace
Tires have under 7000 miles. Traveling on i75 in florida the car started to vibrate. I slowed down and was able to make it to a mercedes dealership. The mechanic informed me that the cords in both rear tires had separated. I had the tires replaced which were not under any warrantee. I have the same tires on the front of the vehicle which i am very concerned about as the mechanic told me i was lucky the tires didn't explode. 245/40r18.

The contact owns a 2013 dodge avenger. The contact stated that the tire monitoring system failed. The tire low pressure warning light was illuminated constantly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times and the dealer advised that there was nothing wrong with the tire monitoring system. In addition, the check engine warning light recently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic was performed which located the failure at the electronic control module. The contact was also advised that the evap canister was fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 8 and the current mileage was 2,540.updated 5/15/14the consumer stated the vehicle would pull to the side, jerk, drive rough/ loud, and had a difficult time gaining speed. The vehicle had a bad odor (comparable to rotten eggs), and the rpms rise to 4,5, or 6. The rotors, brakes, calipers were replaced. The dealer advised the tire pressure fluctuates in very cold/hot weather cause the tire pressure light to illuminate, this is normal. The consumer stated this is false that is not the only time the tire pressure light illuminated.updated 05/27/2014
