2010 nissan altima s (purchased new 12/7/09) and as part of the incentive to buy the vehicle, the dealership had after market leather installed and from there the problems have been non-stop.at this point, i believe the problem is electrical.i have taken my car nearly 10 times (one being today) in the past 15 months for service and was placed in loaner cars at least 4 times due to the problems.the passenger seat air bag not working and tire pressure light sporadically comes on both blinking and/or a constant.my entire seat was replaced and still the air bag light takes up to 5 minutes sometimes (it varies) to turn off indicating someone is in the seat.i have driven up to 4 miles with my passenger being unprotected.the dealership, today says this is normal.the tire pressure light has came off and on since the car was purchased with nothing found to be wrong each time, except once, they said i had a nail in my tire and they plugged it.i have never seen the repair work and looked very well...this past weekend, i vacuumed my entire car (meaning each door had been opened and shut) taking approx 15 minutes.when i got in the vehicle and tried to start it the shift was locked and the car would not start.all lights started blinking and then completely shut down.it would show "on" on the start button while not running.i was jump started and then instantly the tire pressure light blinked for one minute then stayed constant.the air bag sensor took even longer to work.of course, when i took it to the dealership today, nothing was wrong--battery was good--air bags are good; however, they did confirm low tire pressure in one tire...i truly believe it is an electrical problem and the company is not standing behind their product.i am beyond frustrated and truly dishearten by nissan and their lack of concern for their customers' safety and well being.

There is an continuous vibration and shimmy in the front-end and steering wheel of my 2010 subaru outback that since new (oct 2009) has not been able to be rectified by subaru mechanics, even with cooperation by subaru of america.this vibration can sometimes be dramatic through the steering wheel at highway speeds, and causes erratic drivability, especially in adverse conditions.this vibration may also cause premature wear on front tires, steering and suspension components that could lead to failure and injury, especially at highway speeds.in fact, subaru initially blamed the tire manufacturer - continental - for the issue, stating thetires were defective, and had continental issue replacement tires for my outback.thisdid solve the problem.if this problem is researched on popular and respectable automotive web sites, one can find that it has been affecting a considerable amount of 2010 subaru outbacks and to date, no owners have had their issue resolved by subaru of america.many other owners reported subaru of america replacing what were considered "defective" continental tires, with another set of exact tires from continental.i am worried that this issue is not getting enough exposure and may take an unfortunate accident for anyone to seriously take notice. I have a customer service case open with subaru, but it is evident from my repeated conversations with them that they are being evasive with where they are in fixing this issue, and i have now become deeply concerned for the safety of my family.they want to try another 'fix', but that will not be until mid-march, with no guarantee of resolution.this is a brand new car with only 6,000 miles on it, and i have been thoroughly disappointed with the issues it has had.this vehicle was heavily influenced by toyota, who owns a considerable percentage of subaru...if this says anything.

New continental tires on new car were wearing oddly. I had car inspected for problems and alignment and it was found not the fault of the car nor myself. The tires 205-55-16 91h were reported to me as manufacture defect. They ware in small spots causing the rubber to wear to cord. Very difficult for consumer to see if tire is not in just the right spot to happen to notice. This could lead to a blow out and accident. The dealers fot the tire and the manufacturer have refused to address this issue. The distributors say is a manufacture defect but hard for them to be reimbursed so they don't want to deal with it.2 of my 4 tires have this.

Tire sidewall bubble.tire first started making noise and vibrating for approx. 400 miles before failure.had mechanic check and he said it was simply wear.the failure occurred on freeway at 65 miles an hour causing major shaking and control issues.tires are rotated regularly but community tire inspected and said that there was an alignment problem and tires are wearing unevenly.this tire was determined by manufacturer representative to have impact damage.the tire has not had any type of impact damage.there is one driver of vehicle.

I bought my car in october 2008.about a month later i noticed the tire pressure was lost frequently.i took it back to the dealer and they changed all four tires for free, stating that the tire had some rotting caused by sitting to long.not long after i noticed the same problem and bubbles started to form on both my from tires but the dealer said it was my fault for hitting potholes and curbs.i had to purchase to additional tires on my own.the remaining two that i got from the dealer when rotated to the front, again, formed bubbles.again i had to replace them.i spoke to a technician and explained the problem that had ben occurring.i also stated i had been more careful about my driving and had not hit the curb.he told me that there were many complains about that tire brand and they damaged very easily.

We purchased a brand new van with continental contipro contact tires (brand new). After about 15,000 miles we noticed the tires becoming brittle and blistering. Several tires were losing air.we brought it to a mechanic for a routine oil change and when it was put on the lift he found 6 places that small pebbles had actually punctured the tire and created holes that had to be plugged to drive it safely home.the mechanic informed us that the tires were very dangerous to drive on because they were literally falling apart, blistering, and being punctured by small pebbles. After speaking to continental tire company they informed me that because i plugged the tires the warranty was void and the warranty only covered defective tires.in the opinion of the mechanic, they are defective tires. We have been left to pay for brand new tires for our van that was bought brand new so we can safely drive our family van.

I purchased 4 brand new tire's, continental contiprocontact, p215/60 r 94 t, at mavis discount tire in january of 2010. After three months, and approximately 3,000 miles, one tire blew out due to a sidewall explosion. This tire was the rear passenger tire. This tire was replaced by the dealer at a nominal cost, since i had purchased insurance on the tires. Exactly one month later, the front driver tire blew out from the same cause, and this failure occurred while driving on the highway (the first tire failure was also a highway failure). This failure was also inside the side wall, and not due to debris or pothole. This makes two of four new tires experiencing dangerous highway failure within the first 4,000 miles of ownership. This 50% failure rate without explanation i feel is a sign of a manufacturers performance defect, given both failure occurring at highway speed, and when the tires where in new condition.

Tire developed a bubble in the sidewall while driving. This is a new vehicle original equipment tire with 7000 miles on it.the tire make is continental contiprocontact 225/45 r17 91h, dot afty pxh6.

Continental conti pro contact tire defect. Tire size: 235/45/19 95v. Bought new from dealer 2013 genesis rspec with conti pro contact tires. A bubble on the sidewall of the tire formed and the tire deflated oct 7, 2013. New tires andnew car purchased july 22, 2013 and only had 2340 miles on the car/tires when the defective bubble occurred. There was no impacts or road hazards to cause the defective bubble on the sidewall. The sidewall bubble area was mushy versus rigid/firm as the rest of the sidewall. Took car to dealer, and they said i would have to pay for a new tire while continental tire would assess the defect sidewall bubble. I searched the nhtsa.gov data base and found that there are 39 complaints against the conti pro contact tires for sidewall bubble defects. I checked for any complaints for sidewall bubbles on continental extreme contact tires and there are none. Thus this appears to be a common defect only on the conti pro contact tires. I am hoping continental will replace the tire due to this defect. According the number (39) of complaints against the conti pro contact tire there is a common defect that doesn't occur with their other line of tires (extreme contact and others continentals) that i have owned on other cars with no issues.

I leased a new vw passat in 2006.the tires wore out in 21,000 even though they were properly inflated and basically driven on interstate highways.i have never had tires that lasted less than 35k.

Thread is still in good condition, under 5,000 miles driven. There are no nails or any issues. It just got blowout. Car was parked in driveway at 3.45 pm and blowout happened at 7.30 pm. Outside temperature was around 83f.

As i'm driving along the interstate going 60 mph my tire pressure light comes on a mile later the steering wheel jerks out of my hand and i can hear the tire flapping. Luckily i was able to pull over to the side without an accident. I take the tire to the dealer where i bought the car five months (august) ago and they said there is nothing they can do but sell me another tire. The dealer also refused to give me the number to contact continental directly about the tire. So far nothing has been done about the tire.

When inspecting my tires at 19000 miles, i discovered cracking along the inner sidewall for one my four tires.this is the only tire showing any cracking.i took the tire for review to the tire dealer, and their expert indicated this was indeed a defective tire, that the cracking was not yet detrimental to the tire, but that is should be replaced as soon as possible.

A continental contiprocontact p235/65r17 tire that came installed on a new 2013 honda odyssey had the sidewall blow out while driving at about 45 mph.the tires have around 25000 miles on them.there is no other visible damage to the sidewall to indicate that there was any external cause for the blowout.a large section (approx. 2"x3") completely blew out on three sides remaining attached only on the side farthest from the wheel.the warranty document provided with the vehicle was for goodyear tires rather than continental, so i am currently waiting to hear back from the dealership on the warranty.

My vehicle displayed a code, "tpm", which means, tire pressure monitor, which is to detect tire pressure issues from the "run flat tires" that are standard on my vehicle.i took the vehicle into my dealer and they said, "the temperature swing tripped the warning light".they reset the system and i continued to use my vehicle and within 3 days, the tpm light came on again, and i immediately drove over to the dealer again.on my way two of my run flat tires literally shredded and i was forced to have the car towed to the dealer.this time the dealer diagnosed the problem was caused by the nitrogen that is used to inflate the tires, had eroded the interior lining (walls) of the tires which is why they did not detect this issue 3 days before.not only did i have to spring for 4 new tires, that have 27k miles on them, i am now fearful of this happening again.if nitrogen is in fact destroying the tire from the inside out, than why is this chemical being used???

I purchased a 2008 altima from bill ray nissan (sandford fl) in oct 07. After only 25,000 miles the tires (continental conti pro 215/60r-16 94t) began to make a loud noise. Luckily i purchased a tire warranty from discount tire company shortly after i bought the car. Of course there was nothing that nissan could do about the tires. This was due to the fact that you have to go through the tire company which will only warranty the tires for manufacture 'defects'.i didn't want to wait for the tires to fall apart at hwy speeds. So with my extra insurance through discount tire company they were able to prorate the tires and now i'm driving on some very quiet tires from yokohama (215/60r-16 95h) with 33,000 miles on the car. I'll never go back to continental tires.

My 2009 nissian altima drove great unless it was raining.when there was just a slight drizzle my altima would hydroplain uncontrollably.i was driving on interstate 40 in tennessee and it started to rain.my altima started hydroplaining really bad.i was driving at most 40 miles an hour in a 70 mph zone.it sounded like something was really wrong with the rear part of the car.the water from the road completely lifted the rear end of the car off the ground.i believe it was the tires that caused the problem.they were continental conti pro contact tires size 215/60/r16.it was so bad i pulled over at a rest area for the night.the next morning i start my trip again.the car was fine until it started misting rain again.i was going about 40 mph when the car hydroplained and spun out of control.i ended up in the ditch with a totalled car.while i was getting out of the car a woman with the exact car except for the color did the exact same thing, but her car came a stop in the middle of the interstate.i have checkes several nissian lots and not many of there cars come out with these particular tires.i made a complaint to the nissian company, which inspected the car and said that nothing was wrong the car.i am worried that people are at risk of being hurt driving these cars.i have never seen a car drive like this before.

The original accident happened while we were traveling for christmas (dec 26, 2006). In a brand new car with "up graded" continental tires going about 60 mph the tires disintegrated, the car spun out of control and hit highway wall. It was a clear tire malfunctioned and after sending tire to continental north america in charlotte, nc they said that their "inspectors" found no fault. We asked them to reconsider and ended up getting a $1,500 goodwill offer from them. Needless to say we had a rental car for 8 weeks while out car with $6,000 in damages was fixed. Just this week as we were about to counter offer and get at least out of pocket expenses, since its going into the 2nd year, another "upgraded tire" shredded. This time with our 4 month old son in it. The only thing extra they added to the claim was to pay for new tires for us. They have not bargained in good faith and they are using their corporate power to deflect the liability of producing inferior products. This is in regards to the continental conti pro contact tires being defective. I have 2 tires that were on my cpo 2014 mercedes benz that i purchased a few months ago that have developed bubbles in the sidewall from no impact. I put less than 9,000 miles before the defect surfaced. My dealership says that they aren't warranted or defective? this is an extreme safety hazard and a car that my family drives daily. I have started contact directly with continental.

The contact owns a 2013 honda accord. The vehicle was equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, size 195/65r15. I have had two flat tires on my 2010 volkswagen jetta tdi in the past 3 weeks (the tires only have 23,000 miles on them). The first was the rear drivers side tire; i hit a small pot hole and the tire immediately went flat. I have driven this road for over 2 yrs now and never had a flat. The second one happened today on the interstate after hitting another small pothole. This was the drivers front tire and it also went immediately flat. Both are sidewall blowouts. I wonder how long i have until the other two decide to blowout. I do not have a lot of faith in these continental contiprocontact tires.

The contact owns a 2017 ford escape equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, tire size: 235/45/r19, dot number: a3e647lb2617. Road side assistance arrived and replaced the tire. The contact informed quirk ford (540 southern artery, quincy, ma 02169) of the failure however, the dealer offered no assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 18,000.

The tires specified for my 2013 mercedes e350 are continental 245 40 r 18s.these low profile tires may be fine on the autobahn - but they are dangerous on u.s roads with potholes.in fewer than 2 years, the car violently blew out 5 new tires as a result of potholes (which were not that big/deep).mercedes is clearly aware of this dangerous tire issue - its reaction to the problem is to ignore the danger and capitalize on it by offering tire replacement insurance (about $800).for me, the blowouts fortunately did not result in crashes or injuries - but, they certainly could have.

I had a blow out on inside of passenger side front tire, when i took it to get replaced they noticed i also had a large bubble on the outside of the driver front tire.

I have 2 continentalconti procontact tires that had bubbles in them, and failed when i went over a pothole and bumped a curb. Vw is acting like it is a continental tire problem, and while it is, it is vw also because they choose those tires for their vehicles. I have had to replace all 4 tires because they are unsafe, at my own expense.

Conti pro contact (continental tire): the tires came installed on a 2012 vw jetta 2.5 le. At 27,000 miles the front right tire blew out while driving. The problem was a torn sidewall.the tire was replaced with another conti pro contact. At 53,216 miles the front left tire blew out while driving. Once again the problem was a torn sidewall.

The failure mileage was 12,000 and the current mileage was 27,804.

I was driving on the northern state parkway going east around 8 am. There was construction alongside the road, as well as many potholes. As i was exiting for the lie, there was a big pothole that i could not avoid. I hit the pothole and my front passenger tire blew out. The tire was completely destroyed.

Driver side front tire lost pressure 2 twice in the week as indicated by tps. Then the tire lost all air overnight. Took tire for repair/ discovered that the tire was not repairable because it had side wall leak. Close inspection revealed some steel wire that had dislodged from its embedded position the surface of the tire. Also notices other areas where the steel wires were still embedded in the tire but also visible in some areas.

Defective continental tire with sidewall bubbles on six month old 2015 mercedes benz e350. Mercedes benz of buckhead acknowledged the tire was defective and replaced it at no cost.

I lease a 2014 volvo s60. The vehicle came equipped with continental tires, size 235/45-r17-97v. The dot # is af8p-nih6. The odometer has 8, 550 miles. I drive the vehicle very carefully and conservatively. I have not hit any curbs, carstops or potholes. On january 7th i replaced the left front tire due to a bubble in the sidewall. Today i noticed a bubble in the front right side tire. I believe these bubbles are due to a manufacturing defect and not because i hit something with the tires.please investigate this complaint.

I purchased a new honda civic 2013in july 2014. The car came with continental contipro contact tiressize 205/55 r16 89h. From the beginning the tires caused a great deal of noise. On some roads the noise is so loud, there isa potential failure to hear emergency vehicles. In addition, with even the mildest road defect there isrumbling and often a loud booming. I took the car in to report defect at 1066 miles and was told by the service adviser that i needed four new tires. My mechanic also advisedme these tires are faulty anddangerous. I am terrified of driving, particularly on the highway. I do believe that being a seniorcitizen has played a role in honda's effort to ignore me. Thanks for the opportunity to vent my concernsand anguish.

My wife and i were driving along i94 and an suddenly and light vibration from the front right tire, and soon after, i say the tire crossing the highway. The whole contact are of the tire rip off the walls of the tire. Completely gone.only the two outer walls remain attached to the rim. Tires installed by our jaguar dealer and less than 10,000 miles. I purchased a 2013 honda civic ex equipped with continental conti pro contact tires size 205/55r16 h .i immediately began having problems with a tire loosing nitrogen pressure and setting off the tpms. I returned the car to my honda dealer who could not find any explanation why the tire was loosing pressure. A month later with only 1500 miles on the car and tires, the same tire sidewall blew out with just normal driving. Continental tire will not warranty any sidewall problem as they falsely qualify all sidewall problems as road hazard. Now i am concerned that these tires are unsafe to drive. I have never had a tire of any brand just blow out a sidewall, let alone a brand new tire.

Conti pro contact tires put on rims and balanced for summer driving. 195/65 r15 91h dot#65pcaxh616102 miles away from garage tire suddenly deflated. Inspection showed bubble caused by manufacturing defect. In google- substantial complaints about these tires i.e. Bubbles, blow outs etc.-dangerous!

After noticing "dimples" on the sidewalls of our continental conti pro tires, on a new 2011 altima, we checked online and found dozens of problems with tread separation and sidewall failures that led to blowouts. We are getting rid of the continentals with just 2,000 miles on them. It's worth $600 for new michelins to know our 2,000-mile drive tomorrow will be on safe tires. It's just unconscionable that these tires come on nissans, fords and mercedes, and that consumers aren't at least given a choice to opt out. I can't take a family trip on these tires.

The contact owns a 2008 mercedes benz c300. She had to replace five tires. The five tires that were replaced also included the new tire she used to replaced another tire. The first incident occurred on may 14, 2008 while driving approximately 25 mph making a right turn and the right rear tire side wall split. And on march 13, 2009 she hit a pot hole and noticed that the right rear front and left tire failed again, they both had a bubble in them. The third incident occurred on february 28, 2010. She hit a pot hole and again the left front tire blew out. She will take the vehicle to the dealer to be inspected. The tires that failed were manufactured by continental, line conti pro contact, size 225-45 r17 91h, dot 65typxh6 all tires had the same dot number except one dot number was lm7rpxh6.the vehicle failure mileage was 1 and the current mileage was 25,000. Tire treads have chunks missing all over 2 tires, previously on rear tires now rotated 1000 miles ago to the front. Unsure how long this has been going on since i can't see my treads normally but i happened to have had my steering wheel turned out and noticed this scary defect. Normal use is on city streets, black top. Rarely on a gravel road. I have pictures and i hope i can upload them as i continue on through this form.

While driving on i-81 in virginia my left rear tire disintegrated. I was able to move right to safety and when doing so the upper half of the tire rolled past me and came to rest 50 feet ahead of the car against the railing. All tires are new, with less than 200 miles on them. I called 911, the state police came and called a wrecker. I was towed and received a replacement tire at a car shop and returned home.on inspection it appeared that the sidewall complete gave a way. Fortunately a piece of the rubber stayed on the rim thus protecting the rim from damage.this should not have happened and i would like you to investigate. Fortunately nobody was hurt but this could have been a very serious accident. The car a 2005 volvo s60 in fine condition had been bought from carmax a week earlier and had been fully inspected prior to sale.

From the beginning i have vibration in the steering wheel at various speeds some at 40 mph and from 70-75 mph. At my last service they did rebalance the tires which helped slightly but not totally.

Continental tires number 235/50 r18-97h m-s radial tubeless front tires are losing chunks of tire and peeling on both sides of the tire. These are the original tires for my 2015 linclon mkc. My car is serviced every 3-4 months at the dealership and have had tires rotated a few months ago. Total mileage on vehicle to date is: 27,580.3 . The tread is still deep, but the rubber is cracked throughout, peeling, and losing chunks / coming off. This was identified when i had low tire pressure from rolling over a screw. Otherwise, the damage to both front tires would not have been found until further tire damage, blown tire, and/or injury would have occurred.

I have had to replace two different continental contipro contact tiressize: 215 45 r17 due to sidewall damage. (bubbles on sidewalls).car was purchased new 6 months ago and only has 6,000 miles on it.when first tire needed replaced car had about 3,000 miles.that was the passenger side front. The one this week was the driver's side front.i have been driving for 27 years.and prior to this have only had one tire with a problem the sidewall and that was over 20 years ago.again, second tire needing replaced for bubbles on sidewall on a 6 month old car with 6,000 miles.tire dealer said they see alot of problems with the "45" tires.these tires are being put on many brands of cars as standard equipment.as they were on mine.it does not seem like these tires are safe.please look into this problem.as a failed sidewall can be very dangerous, if not deadly.

I have a 2012 mercedes e350 with 15000 miles. It has oem tires made by continental. Conti pro 245/40 r1897v. I incidentally noticed on 7/23/14 that one of the tires had a bubble where the wall was bulging and tire was soft. On examination of the other tires, i saw that 3 of the 4 tires were weak and bubbles had formed. I talked to the dealership, they told me that they have seen at least 300 similar problems in the last 4 months. They ascribed it to the fact that mercedes has a "low profile high performance" tire. If it hits a pothole, the tire wall weakens and a bulge can form. He told me not to use the car but instead get all the tires changed. He mentioned that since a lot of oem tires on mercedes are continental conti, it is one of the common ones but it happens on other low profile tires too.i have not changed the tires and i am keeping the car in the garage, and using my second car instead.if the problem is so common, i believe that owners of such vehicles and tires should be asked to check their tires regularly as a blowout on a highway can easily be fatal.

I bought a 2014 c250 mercedes with continental tires dot: hw4tnxh61413 in november of 2013. Two of the four tires continue to lose tire pressure and have developed side wall bubbles. The car is driven daily and has 20,000 miles on it.

Vehicle had 16000 mi., blew a hole 1"x2" out of the inside of the right front tire going about 45 mph, slightly ran off of paving on to gravel, blew when got back on road.when i took it to tire store they noticed a bubble on the driver outside of the tire approximately same size. I have to replace that tire as well.these tires appear excessively prone to " road issues".fortunately i was driving not my wife (her car).

The contact owns a 2008 audi a4.the vehicle has continental conti pro contact tires, size p235/45r17.the contact purchased a new vehicle and began experiencing tire failures.within five months, he noticed bubbles on two of the tires.the contact called the manufacturer and dealer and was informed that the road conditions were the cause of the failures.while driving 35 mph, one of the tires recently had a blow out.the manufacturer continued to blame the road for the failure.the contact stated that the blow out was not caused by a pothole or any other road hazard.the failure mileage was 9,000.

A blow out of a tire occurred while driving a 2013 hyundai elantra limited with 543 total miles on the car.the speed of the car at the time was 25 mph on a smooth road surface in a residential area.in talking to other owners, and searching the internet, we find that premature tire failure occurs frequently on the elantra.fortunately, this incident happened at a very slow speed otherwise there may well have been a fatality involved.

I purchased a 2006 vw jetta in late 2008, early 2009.the car was brand new and sat in the showroom for two years.after of driving for 1 1/2 years, the tire sidewalls began to separate.continental made the adjustment and i replaced the tires thinking that sitting in a showroom for that much time, they probably dry rotted.today, i am having to replace all four tires again after 13 months for the same reason, sidewall separation.reading the complaints on this site and others, it appears there is a serious issue here for sidewalls on continental tires.the size is 225/45r 17.the tires are contipro contact.

The vehicle has 11,000 miles on it. I just drove from boston, ma to scranton, pa on thursday 6/24/21. There were no issues and i did not hit any pot holes. On friday morning we started driving and 3-4 miles away going about 40 mph, we noticed a problem on the right front. I pulled over and we noticed the tire was flat. I called triple a and took the car to a tire repair shop. The sidewall was worn all around the perimeter of the tire and it had a hole in the sidewall. I also noticed a bubble on the left front tire, thus both tires were replaced. I notified continental and opened a claim with them.

2016 hyundai equus with continental contiprocontact p245 / 45r / 19 98v tires; dot af7vp1h6 (0615);while driving my daughter and grandchild to the airport on the florida turnpike the steering wheel began to vibrate.upon returning home, called car dealer and scheduled a service appointment the next day.we both thought a front tire had possibly thrown a wheel balancing weight.dealer found both front tires had belt separation causing steering wheel to vibrate. The car and tires were purchased new at the dealer at the end of 2016, are only 22 months old and have only 19,700 miles.we have not hit any curbs, rough railroad tracks or large pot-holes and it is suspicious that it was both front tires.the tire manufacturer was contacted by the dealer, refused to acknowledge a likely manufacturing defect and offered only 50% of the tire replacement costs and they wanted the defective tires.i was able to purchase other new tires for less cost than what the manufacturer offered.i have the defective tires in my possession and plan to run root-cause failure analysis on the tires suspecting that it is a manufacturing defect with the rubber used causing the belts to prematurely separate from the tire compound.i noted other similar belt separation failures on the nhtsa website listed under the tire manufacturer, brand and even car brand.will also be contacting the car maker and tire manufacturer to register a complaint of a defective product.

My 2008 volkswagen rabbit, with only 4130 miles, had been parked for four hours (in a shaded area) when the rear driver's side tire blew out. The impact was such that the bumper separated from the car. After inspection by our mechanic it was suggested the remaining four continental tires be replaced, since they showed visible defects. The tires showed excessive creases.

I have a 2007 ford edge with continental tires size p245/60 r18-------104tthis vehicle only has 16,000 miles on it and the front tires have worn down dramatically and the back tires have worn down on the insides only, which wasn't seen until the tires were rotated in september. Now that the tires have been rotated the tires that were removed from the back and put on the front are now wearing down, like the ones that were in the front did. I have contacted continental tire who says the problem belongs to ford and ford says the problem is the tire companies problem. I have a 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and they deny having any responsibility and continental tire says they don't warranty the tires for the purchaser of the vehicle.

In an effort to make this as short as possible, i bought 4 new continental contiproco tires in june 2009 for a 99 vw passat.after driving less than 7k miles, while traveling in the middle lane of a major highway about 65 mph the right rear tire separated into 3 pieces.i did not hit anything that i know of and pulled off the road immediately.it was similar to a truck retread tire that separates and you see on the road all the time.continental will replace the tire but quite honestly i don?t trust their products at this time.if this occurred on a front tire, i would have rolled over.

On my 2014 audi a6 at 2300 miles the right front tire has a bubble. The manufacture of the tire was notified and exchange the tire, now at 6300 miles another tire has the same problem .

The contact owns a 2008 mercedes benz e350 with continental, conti pro contact tires. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph over a bump in the road, the tires would form a blister or bubble. The dealer advised the tires were unsafe and all four tires were replaced. In addition, the contact stated she has also experienced several blowouts with the tires. She would have all four tires replaced whenever she would experience a blowout. The dealer advised the tires would blowout easily because they were low composing tires. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 34,786.

I have a 2014 ford fusion that comes with continental tires.in the 14 months i have owned the car , i have had 2 tires blow out. Prior to this car i never had a flat tire, now i've had 2 . The first blowout was at 1000 miles and the second tire blew out at 8000 miles. Both happened on roads where all the other cars drove by without issue. There are complaints all over the internet about how easily continental tires blow out.this is a serious safety risk and also the tires were almost $300 each to replace.both ford and continental should take responsibility for this faulty product and address the safety issue before someone gets seriously injured or killed. Also the tire wrench that comes with the car bent while taking the lugs off, ford replaced it once, the replacement one also bent while changing the second blown tire.

The dealership replaced the original tires on our 2015 hyundia genisis 5.0 with contiprocontact tires due to a recall on the original hankook tires in june 2016. Since then we have replaced , on six different accatiions, one of the tires .the first two, one front and one rear ,were because of bubbles on the sidewall. The next one was from tread seperation on a rear tire, and the last two ,were front tires, both from blow outs, after hitting small potholes at low speeds on two different accatiions. I have never had problems like this before, and i have been driving for over 50 years. 2 tires from same lot on brand new car have been defective in one month's time, causing blowout on freeway at high speed.thankfully, no injuries were incurred.this happened 100 miles away from nearest services, requiring tow to nearest dealership.ford motor company replaced each defective tire at time of incidents; however, 2 remaining tires will not be covered for replacement until such time as they become defective. I am concerned that the entire lot number is defective and that i may incur the same problem in the future with the remaining 2 tires with possible loss of life as a result.

I think these tires are defective and dangerous.some one needs to do something before people start getting hurt or even killed from them.

Road side assistance arrived and replaced the tire. The contact informed quirk ford (540 southern artery, quincy, ma 02169) of the failure however, the dealer offered no assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 18,000.

Noticed sidewall failure near the inner tread line on all four tires.35k miles.major risk of blowout.

The contact owns a 2013 honda accord. The vehicle was equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, size 195/65r15. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 14,500.

2nd tire of this type on this vehicle that has developed a sidewall bubble rending the tire unsafe to drive on.

Both passenger side tires had to be replaced.the car has less than 9,000 miles.front tire had a sidewall bubble. Rear tire had a sidewall tear with metal showing. Service men detected tire defect during routine oil chage. I do not recall any incidents that would have caused these defects.i'm a 66 year old woman and don't drive carelessly.

The contact owns a 2013 hyundai elantra limited equipped with continental tires, line: conti pro, size: 215/45/17. The contact stated that the low tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The tire affected was always the front passenger side tire. The vehicle was taken to dealer for inspection, who stated that the failure was caused by the weather. The dealer suggested adding nitrogen, however the failure was not corrected. The contact noticed bubbles on the sidewall of the front passenger and driver side tires. The front driver side tire was previously replaced because of a pin sized hole. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000. The current mileage was 21,800.

The contact owns a 2015 cadillac ats equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, size: 225/40/r18 (na). On two separate occasions, while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle drove over a bump and the tires vibrated. Several miles down the road, the air sensor indicator illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed that the sidewalls on both front tires were split. The contact was able to use the run flat inner tires to continue driving. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The first time the failure occurred the vehicle was taken to the long cadillac dealer located in southborough, ma where the tire was replaced at the contact's expense. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 15,000. The dot number was not available.

I have had to replace two different continental contipro contact tiressize: 215 45 r17 due to sidewall damage.

I had a blow out on inside of passenger side front tire, when i took it to get replaced they noticed i also had a large bubble on the outside of the driver front tire.

Continental contiprocontact 225/45h 17 tires have splitting sidewalls on both front tires.the tires are slowly leaking air and going flat, one went dead and 2 weeks later the other is now flat.there are more vw gti's with this same problem reported on online car forums as well.i have pictures of the tears in the sidewall available.http://homepages.nyu.edu/~ejm232/conti1.jpg

The tires were replaced ten times within 18 months.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dot number was unknown. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who confirmed the failure. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The dot numbers were unavailable. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 3,900.

The contact also indicated that the same defect occurred with the drivers side front tire. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 60.

Replaced all tires when all had severe tread wear and two had side wall blisters at 23,000 miles. I received an adjustment for the replacement. With about 1,000 miles on the new tires the passenger front tire developed a large sidewall blister.

Contipro tires.threeof the tires on my new car have had sidewalls bulges.the first i feel was my fault. I drove on the tire that had low tire pressure. But the two other tires have not had any compromising situations.each tire had less than 5,000 miles on it. Continental tire warranty is a joke, they have been no assistance.i have never had tires fail me, i have always just worn them out.

The contact owns a 2014 ford escape equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, size: 235/55r17 99h. While inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that a bubble had developed on the front passenger side tire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the tires were replaced. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred on the driver side of the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle and tire failure mileage was 16,223.

The contact owns 2007 ford fusion equipped with continental conti pro contact p205/60r16 tires. The contact stated that she noticed a bubble on the side wall of the front passenger side tire. The vehicle was taken to a tire center and the failed tire was replaced with a tire of a different make. The tires were rotated frequently to reduce the risk of failure but the failure would still occur intermittently to three out of the four original tires. Each time the failed tire was replaced with a tire of a different make. Only the continental tires experienced the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000. The current mileage was approximately 37,500.

Continental contiprocontact 235/50r18 97hdot: 431pwbk3201420k on 2 yr old purchase new 2014 ford escape titanium.

The contact owns a 2006 volkswagen jetta.the vehicle has continental conti pro contact, size 205/55r16 (na) tires.while driving 75 mph, the rear passenger side tire caused the vehicle to shake.the failure recurred with the front passenger side tire.the tire chord separated from the tire.the contact notified the dealer.the other two tires were about to fail as well, so she notified the continental manufacturer regarding replacement tires.continental refused to replace the tires and advised her to call nhtsa to file a complaint.the current and failure mileages were 20,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country equipped with continental conti pro contact tires, size: 225/55r17 (na). While attempting to enter the vehicle, the contact noticed that the rear passenger tire was flat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the tread was separated on the tire, and the other tires were exhibiting the same failure. The tires were replaced. The tires were replacement tires. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 105,932 and the tire failure mileage was 30,000.

Conti pro contact tires put on rims and balanced for summer driving. 195/65 r15 91h dot#65pcaxh616102 miles away from garage tire suddenly deflated. Inspection showed bubble caused by manufacturing defect. In google- substantial complaints about these tires i.e. Bubbles, blow outs etc.-dangerous!

Tires show cracks in tread on all 4 tires.appears to be dry rot cracking, this in2 year old tires.problem was first discovered when driver side front tire continued to loose air. Was advised by tire professionals that tires were not safe to use in highway driving conditions.replaced the tires at my expense since continental will not warrant second owner of vehicle.pictures are available if desired

Rear continental tires worn, tread showing at 20,000 miles, on tires designed for 4x4 suv creating danger as in the ford expedition situation.
