Dt:the tire exploded, there was no tread left, there was only metal left. The tires were general tires. On a major highway, they smoked and the rubber wasflying. The blow out happened on the front driver's side on july 31, 2005. Contacted dutchmen, they saidwould investigate.

In july 2008 we purchased a new chevy cobalt ss from c.weaver chevrolet in yorkville, ny. We were having a problem with a noise in the rear and brought it in for service at 12,400 miles. We were told that it was in need of rear brakes and also that the front tires were in need of replacement. The front tires were removed in the winter for snow tires and have only been on the car for about 7,00 miles. It was our opinion that there were defects with the tires and brakes but the dealership, (carbone gmc, pontiac, buick), in yorkville, ny refused to perform the repairs under warranty citing drivers use as the reason for the wear on the brakes and tires.

While pulling a 200128ft toyhouse trailer in nevada on hwy 50 late at night i hada tire come apart on me. The tire never lost air and i drove about 10 miles on it. When i got to where i was going, i saw the side of my trailer was damaged. Thankfully no one was hurt and we did not crash. Although there was alot of damage done. Then, 3 weeks later, driving on hwy 395 in nevada, the front tire on the same side came apart. This also caused alot of damage. Now one of the tires on the other side is cracking at the tread. It too looks like it is coming apart. When i sent the tires to continental tires they investigated them and got back to weeks later and said one tire they would except as there fault and the other was over inflated or over loaded. Naturally there claiming the front tire that did the least amount of damage. Two estimates $5700. And $6200. Dollars later they contact me with an offer of 4 new tires of theres and $500. Dollars. If that isn't a joke. They can't even step up to the plate and except that there tires are failing on more than one vehicle. What's it going to take " deaths" for them to wake up!

Recently purchased 2011 outback suburu, brand new.with 1500 miles, the dealer inspected our tires and found 3 out of 4 tires to have side wall bulges.the tires are continental tires.the call back this morning from the dealers service manager said that they inspected the new cars on their lot and found sidewall bulges also showing on the tires of new inventory. The service manager said this was a result of extra material.as new owners we feel that the operational integrity of the vehicle is compromised with an intergral part of the vehicle showing manufacturing defects, and at this present writing, no available recourse offered from subura.

Continental tire type 235/45/r18.i had a side wall blowout on i-95 while driving at a speed of 65mph.the tires came on a 2013 vw passat tdi sel.the dealer in hyannis, ma where i purchased the vehicle said that it must have been something that i did.the tires had 16,500 miles in them with a tread wear of 2/32 (almost brand new).the dealer also said that they were not responsible for the tires that come on their vehicles. This website has numerous posts having to do with continental tire side wall blowouts.i believe this to be a potentially serious issue.

We purchased 4 new tires from les schwab. One tire fell apart while being driven at highway speed. The tire whipped my car and sliced the left side of the car cutting the side and rear bumper areas. Also, it tore out the rear left tail light. The car wasthrown out of alignment.i reported it to les schwab whosent me to the manufacturer, continental tire north america. In charlotte north carolina. They requested 2 estimates, the tire and a claim report. I also reported it to my auto insurance company. Per my insurance. The damages were more than my car is worth ($2700.00) so they will not pay for repairs. The offered to pay the current blue book value to me. Continental tires contacted me and stated that the tire was not found defective, and offered me my $500.00 deductible along with a release and settlement agreement. My car was in great shape prior to the damage done by the tire. You expect new tires to wear out or go flat but never to fall apart where the treadfell apart and cut your car. I still own the tire if needed for inspection. Also, legs schwab charged me for a new tire. I believe the tire was defective. It seemsi lose either way.
