2006 chrysler 300c w/ continental contiseal 225/60r18 tires w/ 23k miles. Car riding extremely poor & went to dealer. They stated tires egg shaped & i needed to contact continental.they are on continental website as tire dealer, but didn't want to assist with problem. I went to a different continental dealer from the site, who pulled off tires, noticed 1 tire had 2 severe spots of separation & 3 were egg shaped.i was informed by dealers that contiseal tires all have poor life & the puncture sealant causes them to never stay in balance, thus causing abnormal wear & separation. Continental offered 50percent goodwill rate saying i was out of warranty, though tires rated 60k they said it does not apply to new cars. Also told they discontinued this brand of tire and "had new improved replacement series" because they found hemi engine cars are too heavy for contiseal soft tires. I am angry it cost me $400 to replace tires that had 30 percent usage, as well as both dealers said one tire was ready to separate at any minute & didn't even want me to drive the car home because of the danger.i do freeway driving and have an infant in the back seat!!i believe there should be an investigation into this poorly designed tire & recall issued. Why should consumers have to shell out money for tires that should have years of life left??i even asked continental cust. Serv. Why the 50% rating, and he said because 1 tire had the separation & the rest only had started the process which only made my "drive rough".. I asked "if" it had separated on freeway what would they have done, and he said he would have given me the legal department.i am appalled at the danger of these tires. I have read complaints & there is a consistent problem obviously & i would like to see some action taken on this company & model of tire. It is simply too dangerous & admittedly so by the company's reps by stating the tires is too soft for hemi engines & this a common problem.

I have a 2015 coachman prism rv on a 2014 mercedes sprinter. It has dual wheels. It is very difficult to check air pressure on the dual . I took it too mercedes dealership and they put on extenders. The one on the passenger side failed within 500 miles. It dug a groove in the on tire and the valve stem split. The other side failed after 3000 miles. The valve stem split. I am surprised with the emphasis put on proper tire pressure that this is a problem today. I am still looking for solution. I am looking for high quality valve extenders and a good tire monitoring system. Both times my tire went flat it was uncertain when it happen. Both times i found the tire flat on my morning check.knowing that i was probably driving with a flat tire for some distance was scary knowing that the other tire could have failed at anytime due to the added weight it was carrying and could have happened at a time that caused me to lose control of my vehicle. In my opinion all vehicles with dual wheels should have tire monitoring systems and easily accessible valve stems.
I have a 2005 dodge magnum r/t with 13000 miles and the tires are wore down to the wear bars.all continental tire wants to do is sell me another tire that is substandard.13000 miles should not wear out a tire in normal driving conditions andstyle.it makes me think dodge knows about the poor tire that is why they are going to another tire in 07.
The purpose of my letter is either to inform or alert you to a tire situation.on may 7, 2007 the continental tire tread on the2005,ford,escape left the wheel in a complete circle, nearly causing a potential accident.i consider this to be a catastrophicfailure unlike any that i have known. I used the spare tire, and reported the situation to my ford dealer. They, in turn, reported the failure to both , continental tire company and the ford motor company. Since then the continental tire company offered to replace the tire by offering me $20.00 off a replacement tire as the cost of fair wear and tear. At no time has continental expressed any interest in viewing the separated tire. In short,$20.00 take it or leave it. On the other hand, the ford dealer sold me a set of different tires at his cost just so that we could have some peace of mind while driving in the future. If you have an interest in obtaining more information i have a series of photos of the separated tire which i would send you upon request along with dot numbers, etc. My email is [email protected].
In feb 2005 i purchased an 05 dodge magnum with continental tires.i now have 26000 miles on my car and the continental tires are worn down to the wear bar and maybe a bit more.the ride has always been rough with questionable performance in higher speed turns and evasive maneuvers.are there any other complaints with these tires and what can be done to keep these dangerous tires off the road.it would also be nice to have continental to pay for replacement tires (from another tire company).
