While in motion and in inclement weather, the vehicle went into a 360* spin, while moving at only 25 mph.the vehicle lost all traction.the brakes on the vehicle are inoperable.while on an incline and braking from about 5 mph the vehicle jumped an island before the brakes stopped it.*jg
2003 toyota mr2 spyder - complete loss of control of vehicle, both steering and braking control, without warning or unusual cause under normal driving conditions at speeds less than 25 mph. Toyota dealer examined vehicle and states that vehicle is drivable and meets design intent. Toyota dealer states that problem can not be repaired and recommends snow tires. Snow tires that meet toyota specs are not commercially available.
I received 2 safety recall notices on my rx8.i took the car to the dealer where i leased the vehicle and i thought they corrected and/or inspected the problem.over the course of the past 60 days, the service i have received has been unsatisfactory and i have been lead to believe that the dealer may not have addressed the safety recall issues. (cracked ball joint and heat insulation).i have a checkengine light problem and i think they don't know what to do, to the point they will replace the engine.this will inevitably cause my vehicle to lose value.
2003 nissan 350z brought in to showcase nissan in bourne, ma with oil light on and no oil pressure. Technician put car on lift and drained "less than a pint of oil" from vehical. Inside of tail pipes were oily and black. Milage at the time was 14,100. Nissan's solution was to do consumption tests at 500 mile intervals which resulted in oil usage of 1/4 to 1/2 quart per 500 miles which nissan claims is "normal".

I was driving the car in a rainy stormy night north bound hwy 101 on january 10th 2004 when my 2003 nissan 350z stopped with a huge clunk in the motor compartment and came to a rolling stop to the side of the road where there was not much shoulder space and poor visibilty that night!apparently this vehicle has been burning oil 1qt pr thousand miles! i didnt know this from getting regular oil changes at aroung the 3k marker! kept getting oil consumption test but no corrective action was taken by manufacturer until i went to the bbb! then nissan was forced to replace motor, clutch , tires which ive been having issues long before this ever occured along with the window motors in which the windows kept giving out also! my vehicle broke down again some 1000 miles after the new motor! my car kept stalling at a stop light! i had the vehicle taken to the nissan dealer where i almost had to fight with the sevice rep to get it taken care of under warranty! about 3k miles after the new motor was replaced and installed i had the vehicle taken to get an oil change and the car was almost 3qts low again!yes the car still keeps burning oil!nissan did not want to do anything about it! i kept calling consumer affairs whom kept passing my file around to one rep and another. I finally broke down 3-4 thousand miles later and have been for over a month with a vehicle that does not run and no assurance from the dealer who fixed my motor less than 7k miles ago. This car has been giving me problems since the first few months ive had it.
It started in november 2000 my enginecheck light came on. I took it in to lithia in oregon they reset it . In march of 2001 myengine check light came on again so i took in lithiain sparks nv they reset again . 13 march 2002 there was a recall on a fuel vapor control valve and my check engine light was on again they replace the fuel vapor control valve and said that was my problem12 days later it happen again so they replace my canister air valve.06/20/2002 it came on again but i have'nt took it in yet.
I own a 2002 toyota camrywith bridgestone tires which were on the car when we purchased it in fall of 2002.we have taken the car into dealership, high country toyota in scottsboro, al, 3 times and phoned our sales representative approximately 6 times for 3 problems.#1 - rattling - which we were told on the first visit to dealer it was the catalytic converter heat shield cover and they had fixed it by bending it out.it's rattling again, now.#2 - smell of sulfer/rotten eggs - which we were told they could not recreate the problem, so they have no idea what it could be.it still smells! #3 - my husband took the car to wal-mart to have the oil changed and the tires balanced and rotated because we noticed alot of wear on the outside of the tires and the steering wheel was vibrating when driving.my husband was paged back to the automotive section by an employee to see the tires himself before they took them all off the car and to warn my husband about driving on the tires if we didn't replace them immediately.my husband said the inside of the tires were showing the wires from severe wearing.my husband took the car to the dealer where we purchased it to have them inspect the front end for damage that could cause the tires to wear in such a way so quickly.our vehicle is 1 yr. Old with 30,000 miles on it.he was told it was ok, but the tires on the car at time of purchase weren't meant to last very long, anyway.he took the car to a local - trusted - tire company and had the tires replaced.we have been told that our dealer isn't aware of any recalls and/or complaints on any of these issues, but after researching the internet, i have come across more than enough complaints to make me wonder if i've made a huge/costly mistake in trusting the toyota name and past reputation, especially with 3 children who were put at risk and a monthly car payment!
A little while back an error message came up on the dashboard of my car saying there was a malfunction with the tire pressure monitor. Not long after, i left my office one night; i get in my car with my coworker and begin driving. As i drove we both heard a screeching noise from my car and the car was struggling to accelerate, cars behind me begin to honk and drive around me leaving me in a very dangerous situation where a car may hit me or my car. I was stuck in the middle of traffic with my car almost completely disabled. The next day i had the car picked up from my home and dropped off by a service center. They call me a couple of days later saying there was damage done to all the tires of the car and the pressure monitor for the tires. The tires for this car are special tires with pressure monitors to indicate when they are low on pressure or flat. I've only put 6500 miles on the car and driven it with a lot of care under normal conditions. The service center is saying i inflicted the damage and they want me to pay for it. I had begun speaking with friends who have the same car and they all said they are experiencing the same problem. Please look into the situation and respond as soon as possible. This can be very dangerous.
Ongoing alignment / tire feathering issues with nissan 350zi have had my tires swapped side to side several time + replacement tires and many alignments.the 350z will not stay in alignment and eats front tires every 7000-12000 miles.it wears the insides of the tires to the point of replacement with over 80% tread on the rest of the tire.they are now not performing alignments on my car even though their tsbs state that they will and will replace tires up to 30,000 miles.they stopped doing alignments and tire rotations/replacement before 20k miles in my situation.the stock tires are up to $400 a piece, so this is unacceptable.the dealers want $80 for an alignment every 4-6 months + tire purchase.this is a known issue and nissan refuses to issue a real recall, even though every 03 350z has this issue.it was blamed originally on the suspension being stressed during shipment from japan.i have also had dual rear axle replacement, transmission replacement, clutch assmbly replacement, just to name a few.the vehicle become very unstable with the front alignment issue.there are also issues with the rear alignment.it is out of spec everytime it was checked.
I own a 2006 bmw 530i with 37,000 miles on original set of bridgestone rft tires275/40 r1893y. These are low profile tires and on nov 16, 07 < brought my car in for a tire check at the dealer.they determined that the rt rear wheel was cracked and has damaged the tire.this they said was not covered under warranty as they say that it was damaged from a pot hole.i said that i have been driving cars like cadillac, mercedes, corvette and never broke a wheel.they would not cover it and it cost me $900.now on april 11, 2008, i went to my tire dealer that i have been buying tires from for 20+ years.he said the left rear and front wheels were cracked and also ruined the left rear tire.i am very unhappy and would like to know if the bmw 18" wheels on the above mentioned tires are defective.
I installed the aftermarket mazdaspeed lowering springs on my mazdaspeed3, carefully following the supplied instructions.the instructions require removing the bump stops from the strut mounts.i thought this was strange, but i did it, and later found that my right-front tire tread surface had made contact with the top of the inside of the fender.the result was deep circumferential grooves in the tire, and the plastic fender liner was completely worn away in one area.this is potentially very dangerous since it could lead to a tire blowout.and yes, i am certain that the instructions show the removal of the bump stops.i have the instructions and photos of the damage.
The vehicle certification label on the inside door panel shows the gross vehicle weight information and the vin number, but the tire pressure and wheel size information is left blank.
1. High pressure fuel pump issue on may 21st led to the car stalling while driving and turning. Also put the car in "limp mode" (reduced power).also, run-flat tires on the car have all bubbled/popped- have had car only for 5 months with 6800 miles.2.car stalled numerous times while driving and would stall almost every time when car was stopped at a stop sign or red light. Before bringing the car in for service three days later the car stalled at least 5 times- bmw replaced the fuel pump yesterday.
Rough idle with fluctuating rpm, long crank before engine turns over on ignition. At first it was once a month occurrence, soon it turned into once a week and became almost a sure-thing. Took it to a bmw deal who replaced a fuel pump. Now long crank and fluctuating rpm at idle is mostly gone but rarely happens again.also, sidewall of front passenger side run-flat tire (rft) has a bubble even though the tire hasn't experience any shock (from potholes, etc).
Consumer complained aboutfront end noise. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, and was told that it was a tire defect. Fronttires feathered from the inside relating to irregular tire wear.dealer stated that they were replacing so many tires that the ones needed were back ordered. This started on september 18, 2004.the consumer stated that the problem lies with the suspension not the tire.the back tire of the vehicle is starting to feather.*tc
While making a turn , vehicle slid off theroad, without cause orwarning. The dealership cannot locate the cause of theproblem.
Honda has identified that the 1998 automatic transmission has a manufacturer's durability defect. They have been repeatedly refused to deal with the problem, costing consumers $2700.00 each time the transmission fails. More over, they have been trying to keep it quiet.i have specific documentation of the issue, and would be happy to send it to you! ( dot number: tire size: 205/50/16 )
Follow-up on odi #'s: 10191952 and10192426repair attempt three on automatic transmission. As of midnight tonight, this makes 15 consecutive days the vehicle has been at the dealer for repair of the transmission.dealer called today, stating vehicle is repaired. They replaced the transmission with a "re-manufactured" transmission they ordered from gm. So, i've got a brand new 2007 grand prix gxp with 3,200 miles on the odometer, with a used transmission from gm.dealer insisted vehicle had been taken for several test-drives today, and it is in "like new" condition.upon taking the car for a test drive, myself, i noticed that the gearshift was loose, and did not lock into place, as it had before, and as it was designed to do.any slight pressure or bump in the road caused this "new"(????) transmission to shift into neutral, without control input from driver.basically, there were no detent stops for the gear indicator, and it freely moved between drive, neutral and reverse!dealer stated they would once again attempt to repair.dealer did not close-out the service ticket, so they are making this appear as one repair attempt, even though they have: 1. Ignored initial complaint, 2. Attempted to repair the original transmission, 3. Failing that, they ordered a used, re-manufactured transmission from gm, which has either been installed incorrectly, or is defective from the start.even if the vehicle can be "repaired", it now has a used, dysfunctional and dangerous transmission, and the car is seriously de-valued.i am filing a complaint with gm, and thoroughly plan on a vigorous pursuit of my rights under the florida lemon law.
The clutch had gone out.then two of the tires had blown out.one tire had blown out from the inner wall and the other blow out was due to sidewall failure.*sc
Various things gone wrong with this car: -rack and pinion / steering pump failed at 4000 miles.car refused to steer when at idle.very dangerous.replaced under warranty after 2 weeks.-two transmission replacements.second transmission replacement requires new flywheel, clutch disc, and pressure plate.both under warranty.-uneven tire wear.dealer told me that i'm a "young speed racer" and that i need to "slow down".denied my appeal for new tires, i bought new, wider rims and tires, alignment, and problem went away.tire sizes are 245/40/18 and 275/40/18.bridgestone potenza s03.no feathering after 11000 miles.unfortunately, this car is not very safe... And nissan service / customer service is very uncourteous and rude in their approach to the situation at hand.*la

Automobile pulls to the right side while braking.grinding noise is heard while braking.automobile was taken to savannah mitsubishi on 10-26-98 for repairs.no problems found.i was told that grinding noise is common is abs.on 12-15-98, while suddenly braking to prevent from hitting another automobile, automobile pulled to the right side causing me to hit the curb.impact with curb caused right front tire to blow.a towing service was called to remove wheel.mechanic stated that rust had settled between wheel and axle which made it difficult to remove wheel.since the incident, automobile continues to pull while braking also vibration and grinding noise.prior to incident, on 11-14-98, manufacturer was notified of the problems with vehicle.a representative telephoned on 12-9-98 informing me to continue to take the automobile in for repairs.consumer affairs advised me to make a final attempt to repair with the manufacturer which was done on 12-14-98.they have not yet to respond.manufacturer was also made aware of the incident.no response.per ga lemon law, i have followed all guidelines establishing reasonable number of repair attempts, requesting final attempt to repair and requesting repurchase of automobile.this automobile has proven to be unsafe.( dot number: obv9 tire size: p195/60r15 )
Dt: the front end and tire defects. At 7438 miles, car was rumbling at stop speed. Dealer put new front tires and aligned front end. At approximately 10,000 miles dealer installed new front brakes. At 12, 493 miles the car was rumbling at stop speed. Dealer put new front brakes and aligned front end again. Both times tires had cupped, and threadseparated. If it didnot getfixed it couldresult ina crash.( a blow out ).
I recently opened a corporate case against the toyota of stuart dealership.this is not the first incident that i have had with them, but this is the most recent.on july 26, 2006, i noticed some grease all inside the rim of my tire.i brought the truck into the dealership.i talked to the service department to try and explain the problem.i was told, we know what it is, we will order the rear seals and call you when they come in.no one looked at my vehicle!!!i was told to leave and i would get a phone call.on july 27, 2006 at 10:30 am while in a left hand turn, i applied the brake lightly at a speed of approximately 30 mph.the truck very quickly spun around and backwards into a guard rail.i called the dealership and was told to bring the truck back to them.they assured me that because of the grease on the wheel and being made to think that it was safe to drive, that the dealership would takecare of the damage to the vehicle.this happened, fortunately on a road with minimal traffic, not on i-95.i often think about what could have happened if i was driving on the highway.i could have seriously injured myself, or someone else.i could have had my 5 year old in my vehicle going to camp.anything serious could have happened.fortunately, it did not.after bringing the truck in and many phone calls and trips to the dealership, i was told after two weeks, by the manager of the dealership that i needed to call my insurance company.this was so my insurance would pay for the damages.this is totally wrong.i could have been seriously injured or even worse!if they would have checked my vehicle, it would have been deemed unfit to drive.i am not a mechanic.now the dealership wants my $500.00 deductible payment.you have got to be kidding me!i must say, i am very sorry that i bought a toyota vehicle.if i had to do over again, i would not do so.this is a terrible way to treat a customer.
Consumer noticed while traveling on wet roads 30-35 mph and making a sudden stop brakes locked, tires did not grape, vehicle started sliding under another vehicle ,resulting in a crash. Vehicle is now on2nd repair.
Potenza 175/65/r14xl (oem tires) which are specifically made for the prius, wear quickly and on the edges.this resulted in my tire tread having a 1/32 rating, while the middle of the tire still had a long life left.when making sharp turns at low speeds (especially when the car is cold), the steering wheel will vibrate (sometimes audibly, sometimes not). Were this to happen at even a slightly higher speed, accidents may occur. This problem has become more frequent in the last few weeks.it now occurs at least every other day.
Vehicle experiences severe "tramlining" or pulling of the steering wheel to the left or right under braking or on uneven road surfaces. I have almost ended up in the next lane and must apply active pressure to keep the steering centered.
Automobile will randomly veer or drift in either direction. Action is more severe when road surface is less even, but it can occur at slow speed on smooth street. Dealer has checked and performed alignment and otherwise checked out this condition. Dealer stated it is "normal" for sports tires to do this.
The contact owns a 2007 mazda speed 3.while driving less than 10 mph, the vehicle went into a full skid and struck a curb.five miles later, the vehicle lost steering ability and the wheel turned completely around.the vehicle was taken to a dealer and they replaced the failed steering rack.the contact stated that the dealer was selling vehicles with summer tires.there were no injuries.the current mileage was 8,800 and failure mileage was 8,780.updated 01-30-08.the consumer stated failure warn about to summer rated tires. Updated 01/18/08
Feathering on front tires at low speed and breaking to stop. I had the service done at 8k to correct the feather at a nissan dealer and after a month the feather occurs at 75 mph speed due to shaking on steering wheel but at low speed when braking steering also tends to shake and pulls to the right. Went to the dealer to investigate if recall has been updated or correcting the recall and no reply, at 22k nissan dealer recommended to replace the front tires due to uneven wear. This i believe can lead to driving damage and injures if tire is puncture due to tire flare action from the rims to the tires, this would cause the tire to flare off the rim and cause the car to loose control and other injury to cars and drivers due to tire flare off and become a projectile. *am
I purchased a new 2004 acura tl last december.from the get go, the car has continuously pulled to the left.this car has been taken back 5 times to the dealership, tires replaced and still it pulls to the left.we have notified acura and a rep. Came in but we were told that when we purchased the car i signed a document releasing acura from the "lemon law"i also consulted an attorney as well as wave tv 3 troubleshooter and was given this web site to log our complaint.we have all documents pertaining to how many times it has been worked on.this car is very much a lemon.in the first few months the blower for the heat also had to be fixed. Basically the rep. From acura came here and said there is nothing he could do for us.needless to say i am angry.this has never happened to me before.and i was not aware that acura was exempt from ky's lemon law.please help this car is a hazard for the continous pulling to the left.

1. The toyota prius has an alignment defect that wore out my tires prematurely.. The car rode on the wall and inner tread of the tire wearing it down to the nylon and wire before it popped3. New tires were put on the car.

I own a 2003 nissan 350z.i purchased the car on july 3rd, 2003.since that purchase, the front tires have been "feathering" and all nissan will do is pull the tires off and rotate the problem area to the outside of the wheel.now the inside will start to "feather" thus creating the ride even rougher and more unstable.not only is this causing excessive wear to the tires, but once rotated, it has increased the chance for a blowout even further.nissan continues to dodge my request for a suspension adjustment, as this is apparently the problem, by saying that it is not the suspension or the alignment, but the tires themselves (which is just not true.
Tires are feathering after about 4000 miles, road noise is extremely loud, nissan has done nothing to correct the problem, tires should not be ruined after only 4000 miles.
Tires feathering very badly on all four tires.
Cupping and feathering of tires- causing road noise, poor traction, & handling. Per owner forums, due to suspension issues which effect allignment. Others have had problems recognized and fixed. My dealer and nissan say there is no problem.
Front tires need replacing too quickly. Front end design problem.
I own a 2002 lexus sc430 which has bridgestone potenza runflat tires on it.i put on a new set of tires 1 year ago and 17,000 miles late, the vehicle is all over the road, tires wear excessively on the insides, and i've had it aligned about 3 times in that 1 year.a friend of mine had the same vehicle and he had to get rid of it for the same problem.the tires become very noisy and it sounds like all the wheel bearings are bad.the local dealership is trying to tell me that this high performance tire only lasts 10,000 miles, but when i brought the car to an alignment expert at another repair shop, he stated that is is definitely an alignment problem with the car and that there was plenty of tread life left on the rest of the tires.upon further researching this on the http://lexusownersclub.com, i found out that many of the sc430 owners are experiencing the same tire wear/steering problem and that the car was built with a negative camber and that puts more wear on the tires.please look into this widespread problem as it does greatly affect the steering and safety of the vehicle.we are unable to drive it on the open highway for this problem and the lexus company is blaming the problem on the potenza tires.thanking you in advance for your timely assistance on this.
I am concerned about my nissan 350z suspension/tires.i have been reading a lot of bulletin board entries on www.my350z.com and www.zcar.com about vehicles manufactured before dec. Of 2002.i also visited the nissan website and see that there is a tech bulletin posted about the wear on the tires.there appears to be an issue with the suspension set up on the 350z that is resulting in excessive wear on the tires or feathering.there are a lot of pictures on the www.my350z.com website of actual tires.the feathering seems to begin anywhere from 5000 to 10000 miles.
Check engine light kept coming on then going off. Took to dealer but they couldn't get it to duplicate problem. While there they noticed tires were severely worn. Told me i needed 4 new tires and a 4 wheel alignment at 27,008 miles. Purchased 4 175/65r14 re 92 extra load tires. Left after paying for repairs including an oil change of $557.61 naugust 3, 2004. October 8, 2005 had two nearly flat front tires. Have had to put air into tires several times over the past 4 months - even took car to auto garage that changed tires from winter to summer thinking they put them on wrong. Oct. 12, 2005 started hearing a humming noise in front left tire. Took to auto garage on oct 15, 2005 to be told that once again tires needed to be replaced again because they were worn due to needing a front end alignment and front left tire needed a ball bearing.inside wall of tires is worn off and danger of tire blow-out. Rear tires also show signs of premature wear on inside wall and should be replaced soon. Current mileage is 44,804. I also put on winter tires every autumn onto the front. Garage technician said there was something wrong with burning through 2 sets of 4 tires within 45,000 miles and i should contact dealer.
Premature tire wear.

2005 pontiac gto with 18" performance tire/wheel package. Premature suspension bushing wear causing premature tire wear and alignment issues in only 14,000 miles. Tires are completely worn out on the inner edge in 14,000 miles. Fortunately, i caught this before their was a blow out of a steering axle tire which could have caused a loss of vehicle control and possibly a mva. Even though this is a widely known problem gm has not addressed it and the dealership is unresponsive. Fortunately this vehicle has the 18" tire package or the tire side wall would be rubbing on the strut as they do on the vehicles with the "standard" 17" tire/wheel package.
Car has progressively gotten worse, first starting having tire noise at 10,000 miles finally was able to take to dealer around 14,000 mile and dealer stated that it was just needing an alignment and tire rotation, dealer performed repair and the noise was a little better, after 1000 more miles noise got louder than before and dealer says there is nothing else they can do.there are reports of this problem everywhere yet nissan chooses to ignore it, what am i able to do to get this fixed, it is not right that i buy a 30,000 dollar car and have to live with a problem like this.the vibrations from the tires are causing the dash and door to rattle now.
Inside tread of both front tires prematurely worn at 6000 mi.tires were rotated to the back and back tires wore the same way when placed in front.car was brought to the dealer at 23,000 miles and the front and rear suspension was aligned at a cost of $110.00. I now have excellent tires with no rubber on the inside edges.tires are 18' bridgestone portenza's that came on the car.
Continued excessive tire wear possible cause vehicle weight and alignment problem.i am on my third set of tires in 30,000 miles and the tires that are now on the car are wearing poorly after less then 5,000 miles.toyota is refusing to help me with this problem any further then they have.the car wonders in slightly windy conditions and freeway driving which fells unsafe.toyota has had to replace the computer and do a valve job due to the loss of power i experienced, which could have been a very dangerous situation.
Front tires on my vehicle are feathering due to suspension problems. Manufacturer will not fix the mechanical problem. It is a nissan 350z 2003 under warranty with 8000 miles. Have had 3 tire inspections by different tire manufacturer's, all point toward suspension defect. Traction is less then 100%

Front pair of tires cupping/feathering on the inside of tires, causing a loud growl when braking.
My 2003 nissan 350z has a problem keeping alignment. Thiscauses premature wear on the tires and the additional cost of alignment. This began immediately (2003 at 6,000 miles). Both tires and the alignment were replaced and repaired. However the car continues to lose alignment. A bigger issue is caused in the winter on slick roads. The car will swerve unexpectedly - totally lose control and cross over into on coming lanes. I feel these cars represent a hazard not only to the driver but other innocent people on the road. The only safe remedial action would be a recall and permanent repair of this defect.
Nissan 350z vin [xxx]at approx. 7700 miles car displayed roaring noise when braked.noise became louder and consistent at low speed as mileage increased.dealer (troy nissan in trot, al.) showed me cupping/uneven wear on inside of front tires.as previous owner of 2003 nissan 350z, i recognized the problem. Repeated calls to nissan corporate met with response that nissan does not admit problem exists in 2004 model and refuses to replace tires as the was the practice with 2003 model. Believe this will constitute safety hazard as these cars get older and that nissan must step up to the problem. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)
Tires on vehicle are coming apart on the inside tread line after approximately 5,000 miles of use.we had one crash where car could not be stopped in time.did not put the crash together with the tire problem until recently.
Front tires extremely feathered and cupped on inside of tire.front end alignment problem produces load roar in cabin, excessive wear on tires, and poor handiling. Handling in rain extremly poor. Nissan refuses to listen to the customer or thier own service technicians on fixing the problem.fear problem will not be recognized until fatality.
I had a blowout on my right front passenger side tire that was caused by the tire wearing down to the cord and beyond in a 3 inch band on the inside.i believe it was rubbing up against the strut and hasto have been for some time for that much damage to occur.my cr is completely stock, down to the tires.this just happened an hour ago, and it is july 4t so that will have to wait.but at the very least i will have to buy a new tire.who knows if it is happening in the other wheel wells, i will find out when i take it in.
Brake wear prematurely.dealer agreed to replace at no cost.now ,tires too are wearing on inside and need replacing.dealer says normal wear and tear. Seems to me that there's front end issues causing premature wear on brakes and tires.
When driving car pulled to the left. Dealer said it wasdue to the tires rotating inward,(negative camber). This is the second set of tires.
The car has terrible feathering on the inside edges of the front tires. Problem started after 7,500 miles. Contact patches on the inside tire tread are wearing unevenly. I had the car aligned by nissan on 2-21-03 and the problem has gotten worse. This really scares me and could lead to unsafe driving due to poor design and uneven tread on the tires. The car is a nissan 350z. Received in august 2002.
Excessive tire wear and feathering on front tires resulting in excessive noise, reduced traction, and requiring premature replacement.
Oem tires (bridgestone potenza re040) on my nissan 350z started feathering on the inside of both front tires around 6000 miles.noticed the sound had gotten more noticable around 11000 miles.took vehicle into nissan at 12548 miles and was told that nissan had a problem with the front end on the 2003 model, but that it had been corrected.heard from another source that there were several 2004 350z cars that had the same problem.
The front tires after 19.500 miles inside edge of tire down to steel belt. Outside edge of tire looked brand new. Contacted dealer and the the dealer inspected the car. They recommended replacing the tires and aligning the front end at a whopping fee of $732.00 and told me that this was normal tire wear for 19k miles. I took the car to two different tire shops and was assured that this is not normal and that a negative camber of the allignment would cause this type of wear pattern. I do not dispute a tire of this caliber will wear quickly. The wear pattern is what i dispute. This car has an allignment problem!!i purchased two new yokohama tires with the same specks as the original bridgestone tires and had the front end alligned and will monitor the wear very closely and report back my findings.
My 2003 nissan 350z sports car has a front suspension problem that causes extreme inner tread tire wear in very short periods of time, ie, less than 5000 miles.the problem is pervasive in all 03 models as indicated on the various internet chat rooms.nissan is aware of the problem and has provided a front end alignment and left to right/right to left tire rotation and/or tire replacement - neither of which cure the problem (indicative of an engineering design problem).the extreme tire wear is evident at approximately 4-5000 miles.nissan appears to not have found a solution to this problem.replacing the front tires at unreasonable 5000 mile intervals is required to prevent an extreme road hazard.
My 2003 nissan 350z has an extremely dangerous pattern of tire wear.the inside of the front tires wears rapidly - by 6000 miles it is nearly smooth.vehicle lost control several times due to this problem, resulting in many near-accidents.visited dealer who swapped tires from side to side but issue recurred.first noticed at 4000 miles and recurred at 6000 miles.very unsafe in my opinion.would not recommend this vehicle and am frustrated by nissan's dilly-dallying tactics extended towards the 80% of z drivers that have this problem.
I have a 2003 nissan 350z with tire feathering and front wheel alignment problems.at 22k miles, nissan replaced my front tires and extended the alignment warranty to two years, but that warranty will expire 12/04.
The car had excessive road noise after 8,000 miles. Checking the rear tires i found that both ha numerous flat spots. Took it to the honda dealer and got the same response that other complaints i have read. I was asked if i pulled the emergency brake while driving. I was told it was a tire issue and to talk to a bridgestone dealer. The tire dealer told me that the tires that come on the car aren't the best quality and i should replace them with a better pair. There was nothing they could do because they said it due to lack of tire rotation. I have never had an issue with tires wearing like this even after not rotating tires on other vehicles. I have replaced the tires with new michelins at my expense. I will have them rotated at each oil change. I would like to think that honda and it's tire supplierswould address this issue. This is my 5th honda since 1990 and will be my last and the last time i buy bridgestones.
Started hearing a rotational noise from back wheels of car. It got louder as speed increased.took to honda dealer.they performed a service bulletin to replace the rear upper control arms and did alignment.the incorrect parts were installed at the factory. However, the bad parts allowed the rear tires to 'cup' causing the noise.the dealer (and manufacturer) are refusing to do anything about the premature tire wear caused by the incorrect parts installed during manufacturer.

The tire pressure was certified to manufacturers specifications. From the point of inspection, the tire was operated was operated 10 miles in city traffic and then parked in a garage overnight. The following day the tire was operated at highway speeds (average 50 mph, max 70 mph) for ~ 200 miles. Tire blew (tread completely seperated intact from sidewall) without any warning. Steering wheel jerked and i lost some control but regained enough control to coast to a stop (brakes were not applied). Vehicle rode on sidewall and rims from blowout to coast to stop.the only time the tire is known to have insufficient pressure was after it blew without any prior problem or warning.

While drivingat highway speed rear right tire blew out, causing the driver to pull over.
Right front tire exploded when travelling about 50 mph, this caused the car to swerve abruptly to right and only after great difficulty i was able to regain control. Blowout happened during morning traffic on i-90 and i didn't hit pothole or any other object. Accident was only avoided because i was driving on the right lane, so sweve took me onto the shoulder.
Was driving east on i-70 car started shaking and heard a low roar.thought it was the road.i got off exit 124 i believe and checked tires.all looked normal.. Checked tired pressures all was 32 or 34 psi.i though maybe it was the road so i continued to exit 126east on i 70 got off exit because i heard the same noise.i then drove the car around the truckstop and listened to the tires.. Rear passenger was making a horrible noise so i decided to turn back around and come back home even though the tires looked fine.i pulled out of the truck stop and over the bridge to go west on i-70 heading about 20mph and heard a loud pop.the tire blew out.. Continued over the bridge to the pilot truck stop and noticed there was still air in the tire.. I proceeded to take the tire off and found that the inside of the tire split at the seam.these tires are dangerous!!! the entire side blew out.. But there is still air in them.. Firestone should not be allowed to make tires anymore.. If i would have been going 65mph i would probably be dead.firestone 215/45r17potenza.

I have a 4 oem bridgestone potenza run flat tires (rft) i currently have my rear passenger tire bubbling on the outside wall. I have no rim damage and have only 8k miles on my vehicle. I contacted the dealership and was told they do not cover this type of defect. Numerous reports of the same problem can be found online here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/search.php?searched=4573680i contacted the dealer and was told this was not covered under any warranty unless tire warranty was purchased.
The tires in question where purchase in july 2007. Approximate mileage since installation 2200. Traveling west on i80/94 in northern indiana 3 miles this side of illinois state line. I notice after passing exit 3/cline avenue, that the road way started to sound like a "buck board" road surface. Since i was in the far lane i started to move over to exit onto kennedy ave off ramp and drove into a parking lot and stepped out to see what was going on . I immediately noticed that the "left rear tire" on my corvette seemed like it was going flat. I saw a service station up the street so i decided to see if i could drive to it and see if anyone might be able to offer us assistance. As it was they couldn't. I looked at the tire again and felt there was enough air in the tire to get us to a dealership or tire store. While waiting for the light to change at the intersection upon exiting the service station we heard a loud "bang". I drove into a parking lot across from the service station and parked the car. It was now around 5:00pm. The young was just getting off work fromhis job with "berts towing, inc". The had him tow the vehicle to my local chevrolet dealership 'bill jacobs" in the joiliet il. The dealership got the car into their body shop and "notice" that the "inside" side wall had separated' which cased the tire to crack the wheel. For he next three weeks the dealership tried to get a replacement wheel, but couldn't find one so we purchased awheel so i could moved the car the bill at this point was around $950.00 dollars plus it would cost an additional $1212.00 for a new wheel from gm for a total around $2150.00.i contacted bridgestone/firestone on september 8th with their claim report no. 842571. Yesterday i received a letter ref. No. 919077 they rejected the claim do to "this tire was operated for an unknown period of time with insufficient air pressure. Was i suppose to stop the vehicle in the middle of the highway and which could cause an accident.

I have a 2004 bmw 530i with "run flat" tires.the rear set of tires outside tread seemed to be in good condition and the front tires were also in good shape however, when i took the car in to rotate the tires the rear set of tires were completely worn on the inside and the tread was beginning to separate from the rest of the tire.this was the an observation made by the service manager, susan, at rouse tires in oakland, california.as of 5/1/2008, i have replaced all four tires.
I drive a 2002 nissan maxima with brigdgestone patenza tires on it.sunday, february 22, 2004, during light rain at approximatly 45 mph, the car hydroplaned accross 2 lanes of the 5 freeway in southern california.i had not even hit the brakes.the car just slid accorss the lanes.i contacted nissan but they were no help.i am replacing the tires, but think others should be aware of this hazard.
All 4 of the bridgestone potenza tires were dangerousunder snowy conditions.the tread filled up with snow, and tires had no traction, which caused them to spin.
I was advised during a routine oil change that my tires were unsafe to drive on.i was also advised that tiyota knows that these unique tores fail atabout 10,000 miles.toyota says that these tires are the only type acceptable for use on this vehicle and to use another manufacturer will void the warranty.there are no replacement tires available and they (the dealer) estimates at least one month wait. We purchased a new 2006 subaru with brigstone tires.we drive in wet and snowy conditions regularly. On our first drive to co from wi, we noticed poor wet weather handling.on our next trip to co from wi, we experienced horrible traction on snow and ice covered roads.we have had the tires rotated per warranty, we have had the alignment and suspension checked.the tires appear to be the problem.we have email the mfr/brigstone twice and have not received an answer.i believe the oem tires are not safe on wet and snow covered roads.
Front pair of tires cupping/feathering on the inside of tires, causing a loud growl when braking.
Tires are feathering after about 4000 miles, road noise is extremely loud, nissan has done nothing to correct the problem, tires should not be ruined after only 4000 miles.

Tires are cupping/feathering and will not be acknowledged by nissan north america. I believe this will provide for a situation that could be hazardous. The solution provided by nissan is to have the tires taken off the rim and rotated, as well as performing an alignment. The problem continues to persist even after this action was taken. The tires are brigestone re04's - feathered at 5,000 miles.*la

From jan 2005 to 6/28/06 i have had four separate incidents with 2004 potenza g009 225/45r17 tires that had tread separation from sidewall.tires installed on a 2002 jaguar x-type (awd).all tires were constantly maintained, rotated and balanced per jaguar specs. Incidents lead to extreme vibration and vehicle instability and would have lead to blow out if i had not responded immediately.
Vehicle experiences severe "tramlining" or pulling of the steering wheel to the left or right under braking or on uneven road surfaces. I have almost ended up in the next lane and must apply active pressure to keep the steering centered.
- the contact stated that the 2003 mercedes clk 500, had a blowout on the rear passenger tire. This happened on a cold clear day while driving at65 mph.he tire dealership informed her that there was nail in the tire, but not in the section of the blowout.the tire was a bridgestone potenza.the tire was purchased 21/2 months ago.this blowoutsplit on the opposite side of the nail.the contact will submit the tire size with the hard copy and she still had the old tire that blew out.the contact stated that there was no warranty for the tire.the vehicle currently had 72000 miles.
Excessive tire wear and feathering on front tires resulting in excessive noise, reduced traction, and requiring premature replacement.
Blow out of right rear tire (costco item #758707 bridgestone/firestone re750 245/40r17 ultra high performance) resulting in $2000 worth of vehicle damage. Defective tire remnants sent to bridgestone/firestone. Their inspector denies that the tire failure was a result ofa defect in materials or workmanship. I do not believe they have objectively evaluated the tire remains and are attempting to avoid excepting responsibilities for the blowout which would amount to covering my $2000 out ofpocket expenses.
Purchased new 330i from dealer in 9-05.on 4-06 at 12,500 miles called dealer to request service since vehicle had been making a "roaring & wa-wa" sound when applying brakes.this had been going on for some time & since driver was waiting for computer to indicate service needed kept on driving.dealer agreed to see car and upon inspection called driver & informed that tires were worn erratically & needed to be replaced (est at $1500).since driver questioned need for new tires at such low mileage, dealer finally suggested to call corporate bmw.corporate bmw stated there was a process driver would have to go through in order to confirm tire defect since tires were not part of warranty driver would have to process claim through tire manufacturer with assistance from corporate bmw.driver had to then go to tire manufacturer to have the tires inspected & request a report be generated from inspection.tire manufacturer stated tire wear was due to lack of maintenance (since tires were never rotated) & not tire defects.dealer stated tires do not have to be rotated but tire manufacturer stated they should.dealer finally agreed to replace all 4 tires for free.during call with dealer to schedule tire replacement, dealer informed driver that bmw would replace all 4 tires due to bmw's assumption of a bad batch of tires but that new tires would have to be run flats.all tires were replaced 4-24-06.dealer stated that although bmw does not recommend tire rotation that driver needed to do so to extend life of new tires.at 3,500 miles driver had tires rotated & was informed that tires were already "cupping".called dealer & informed of cupping tires & requested service.driver seems to believe issue is either with run flat tires or with vehicle suspension.will see what dealer says.for anyone with this problem please file a complaint so corporate bmw will have to correct.

The contact owns a 2006 bmw 5 series.the vehicle has bridgestone potenza tires.while driving 30 mph, the front passenger side tire was flattened by a screw in the road and also a pothole.the tire is a run flat tire, which means the vehicle can be driven for at least fifty more miles after a flat without any damage to the wheel.once the contact arrived home, the wheel split.the contact stated that the wheel should not have split and cracked.the dealer repaired the tire, the wheel, and the front passenger side strut.the tire depth and size were unknown.the tire and vehicle failure mileages were 25,596.
The passenger side rear tire blew out, causing the car to spin out while driving n on i-55 between jackson, ms and memphis, tn resulting in a crash.initial investigation did not show any nails, to cause the flat. The complete inside side wall of the tire came apart.
2004 nissan 350z, front tires roar while driving down road. Took vehicle in for service and the service manager says we need new tires and it will cost $650. I stated, this is a new car and we didn't do anything to wear the front tires out. He says to call nissan. Now i am finding out that this is an on-going problem with these cars and nissan has not addressed it (yet). We cannot afford to by new tires every year.
The contact owns a 2002 audi a4 equipped with bridgestone potenza tires, size: 225/45r17. While parked, it was noticed that the front passenger side tire had tread separation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the tire was replaced. The contact also stated that the front driver side tire was replaced previously for the same failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was not available. The dot number and vin were not available.
Two bridgestone potenza re92 [p175/65 r14 84s, dot el(pjdh4801] tires failed on my 2002 prius within one week. These are the tires installed on the vehicle when we bought it. Our vehicle currently has slightly less than 25,000 miles on the odometer and is driven primarily for commuting on freeways. We discovered the right front tire extremely low on air when returning to a parking garage on 4/12/03. As we were unable to locate a gas station my husband changed the failed tire with the temporary tire and had the the failed tire repaired the next day. When serviced we were told the tire had a pin hole and irregular wear pattern. We took the vehicle into the dealership for its scheduled 22,500 mile service and to had the tires inspected and the front end aligned. When questioned about the tires wear pattern we were told the "tires were marginal" and that we should expect to replace the tires in the next six months.the second tire failed today when my husband was cut off in a parking lot (traveling less than 5 miles an hour and swerved to avoid being hit and hit the parking curb), the tire failed and required immediate replacement with the temporary tire. We are having all four tires replaced, at this time, due to the failure of the two bridgestone potenza re92 [p175/65 r14 84s, dot el9pjdh4801] within a seven day period. *nlm

I own a 2004 nissan 350z and received a recall notice for front tire roar which eventually will damage the tires and misalign the front end.the warranty had been extended to oct 30 2005 and i had taken it back to the dealer on oct 28th.after the car was checked the tires were found defective and the service manager said he would order new tires.after two weeks had passed and i did not here from the dealer, i called to inquire.it seemed as though the parts were never ordered and they would order them and call me when they were in.finally on nov 21st i had the car serviced.when i took the car to the dealer they told me at this time that i had to pay for the tires.this was a surprise to me because nothing was said to me at the original date of service.i agreed to have the tires replaced because of the mis-handling of the car and a potential safety problem.after waiting approximately 3 hours for my car a fee of $449.00 was paid.do to the fact that this was a recall by the manufacturer and the notice stated that the tires will be replaced at no charge, i feel that i am do a refund by nissan.i have all pertinent documentation for your review.

Returned tires to firestone dealer but was told problem was due to alignment which i did not agree with.took tires to another shop ( sam's club)and was told that the tire failures were not alignment related and must bedue to tire defects. Bridgestone potenza tires, p175/65r14- on july 28, 2003 had to replace tires on the 2001 toyota prius. One tire was flat. I noticed that the tire had a big crack and the cords were visible. I looked at it closer and noticed that there were cracks halfway around the tire. I looked atthe other 3 tires and noticed that they had cracks also. The tires looked liked they were very old.
Tire feathering on my 2003 350z after 10,000 miles. Brought in to be fixed by dealership at 13,000 miles. Still have problem and trying to get 2 new front tires with little luck at 18,000 miles. In may 2006, i leased a new 2006 bmw 325i with the sport package from don jacobs bmw in lexington, ky.this package is comprised of 17" tires that are bridgestone potenza rft.my car currently has 11,990 miles on it, the tires are worn out, extremely loud and will not go in the snow.also, bmw informed me that my car has a stability control sensor that is not functioning properly and will cause the car to overcorrect itself and possibly cause the car to swerve without warning.however, the bmw dealer sent me home (120 miles) in this vehicle the same day they diagnosed it.i am concerned that my car is not safe.not only are the bridgestone potenza tires on my car extremely worn with little mileage on them, the stability/steering sensor has gone bad.i am afraid that my car will steer itself into oncoming traffic while i am driving it.total failures include 4 tires and one stability sensor.

My concern is that the tires on oem tires on my vehicle (2005 toyota tacoma x-runner) are defective. I had a "split" in my tire and i took it to bridgestone and they said that they are aware of this problem and they replaced all of my tires, not just the problem one with no questions. Where my concern comes in is that i know other with the same vehicle as i have and they exact same problem, but the bridgestone rep. In their area is telling them that they don't know anything about this problem and they will not do anything about it. If the tire is unsafe and some area know about this and are fixing it why are not all the areas aware of this. I feel that they are knowingly putting lives at risk by allowing this to go on with no solution.
Tire is low-profile design standard on prius. Explosive separation occurred on dry roadway without debris. Outside air temperature was approximately 78 degrees. Thank goodness that the tire was on the rear. Driver was able to initiate a controlled stop from the number one lane to the right shoulder. The separation caused damage to the left rear quarter-panel, the alloy rim and of course the tire. Bridgestone customer care was contacted at 800-847-3272 and i was advised that they would send a claim package within 5 days. There is no reference number assigned. They indicated that they would pay for repairs. Serial number for all 4 tires is: cha3700. It is likely that this lot of tires is on all of the prius vehicles sitting at the long beach, california storage facility. The tire pressure on the vehicle was checked the day before the incident and all tires were inflated according to specifications. (dot number: el9ptiresize: p17565 r14)

I am the owner of a 2006 nissan 350z coupe.my car came stock with bridgestone potenza re050a tires, which have a treadwear rating of 140.these stock tires lasted 22,000 miles, which is in line with my expectations.i replaced them with the higher treadwear re-11 tires, which have a treadwear rating of 180.these tires have completely worn out after only 5,500 miles.i feel bridgestone has a faulty rubber mixture or else there is fraud in their treadwear methodology.i have not changed my driving habits or ever gone racing in any manner with these new tires.the re-11s need to be investigated for accurate treadwear.
While driving at highway speeds on the nys thruway, i hit a very small pothole and both right side tires ruptured at the tire bead. At least twenty other cars passed over the same pothole and no damage was done to their tires. The tires partially separated from the rims making driving the extremely hazardous. Even though the cars has run flat tires, the tires separated so far from the bead it made driving the car dangerous. This is the third time small objects in the roadway caused these runflat tires to rupture dangerously on very small potholes. Had i continued driving on them as stated by bmw, they would have separated from the rims and caused an accident.
2002 toyota prius have had five tires replaced on this car and only have 28,000 miles on it. The tires wear uneven, and the sidewalls break down to cause flat. The tread comes off in chunks. Steel wires showing. Every tire has had a different thing happen to it. I have 3 tires replaced by the dealership in one day. The 1st tire went flat from the sidewall braking down and being weak. The one i had replaced on 8-28-03 was wearing unevenly and just had the car in for maint. These tires are unsafe to drive on and i would hope for a recall.

Owner is very unhappy with the arrangements that audi is making in reference to a recall involvingtires which are the wrong size.dealership is askingowners to make an appointment first, come in and let the dealership view the tires, then ask them to leave the car for several hours while they order the tires to replace those that warrant an exchange. There is no cost to the consumer. However, time wise it is an inconvenience.the tires were being replaced. *scc
I have a 2003 toyota prius. I had my first flat tire at approximately 18,000 miles. Second flat tire came 20,000 miles. When i took the car to the tire store i was told that prius have major problems with tires. They indicated that both back tires were completely worn and needed to be replaced. I spoke to the service manager for toyota dealership and she admitted that there was an issue but that it had been rectified. She replaced my last existing tire at approximately 25,000 miles. At 45,000 service i was again told that both of my back tires were completely worn and needed to be replaced immediately. Toyota indicated this was my fault for not properly servicing the car. I have had all recommended service up to that point. I contacted the manager of the dealership. He advises me now that the tires will always only last approximately 20 to 25 k miles. He suggested that i check my tire pressure at least every two weeks and have tires rotated every 5,000 miles but admitted that this will probably not help because of the design of the car.
I bought a 2006 350z in 2007 and have replaced brakes and rotors once already and not 6 months later had to get the rotors resurfaced again.in addition to this problem i have replaced all 4 tires twice.the front and rear were way out of alignment as well.also, the electrical component that moves the driver seat forward and back is sticking, not always allowing the seat to move.

This story refers to the rear, right tire of a 2001 honda s2000.i had replaced the rear tires less than two weeks prior to this incident with bridgestone potenza re050a pole position tires.i drove 120 miles from sw richmond, va to annandale, va.the primary highways i traveled during the trip included i95 n and i495 inner loop; and the conditions on i95 n were windy the entire trip.i frequently had to swerve to counter large wind gusts.a few minutes after exiting i95 to i495 (inner loop) i smelled burning rubber, then noticed my rear tire was smoking like crazy.i immediately pulled over to the side of the road, and managed to avoid oncoming rush hour traffic (very dangerous).my car also started to spin out, because by then the rear, right tire had collapsed while burning; but i somehow managed to safely stop the car.two firestone dealers claim that a road hazard punctured the tire, which in turn leaked, collapsed and started to catch fire.neither dealer could determine the location or cause of the puncture.this incident seems odd to me, because i felt no indication of a flat tire until smoke began to form.following two previous tire punctures (on the last set of tires, once at each rear tire), i noticed the problem while driving, and before they caused a problem.the rear, right tire was completely ruined, because it started to smolder after collapsing, so i replaced the original, two-week-old tire with a brand new identical replacement.to this day i don't feel firestone adequately investigated what caused the tire to puncture, and i wonder if a road hazard really caused it.

I just bought a used 2005 subaru legacy gt. 20 minutes after purchasing the vehicle i was driving along a snowy highway and accelerated just after a set of lights. The rear end of the car felt very loose and the car squirreled after gaining control and accelerating to keep traffic moving the rear end squirreled out and i was unable to regain control. The car spun 180 and slammed into the snow bank sideways.it has the stock potenza 205-45-17'si have never lost control of a vehicle in my life like that 2wd or 4wd. Damage to the vehicle was minor the drivers side doors are both crinkled at the bottoms and part of the shroud underneath was broken off. Car still made same rubbing noise took it back to dealer 3 more times and until the 5th time and 18,000 miles on my car was told that it needed new tires because i had failed to have them rotated!!tires can't be rotated because they are directionals and different sizes!! i was told by dealer it was due to normal wear and tear!my tires are completely bald from the inside they are cupping and car has become less stable when handling curves at highway speeds.the outside of tire thread is perfectly new and shows no wear. I filed a complaint with nissan north america and was told the same bs as everyone else who has filed a complaint...the wear of the tires on the inside is not normal. Nissan refuses to address the problem .what is the point of replacing tires every 8 to 12,000 miles if the same problem is going to repeat itself.i'm afraid to drive my car long distances or in fwy in fear of a blow out.
The tread came off of the tire and damaged the back end of the car.
Tires are of very poor quality. Were bald after little use. Ended up unable to control my vehicle and involved in accident. Through service checks it was never noted to me of the tire condition and the tires should not of been in the condition they were in. I feel as though it is a defect or poor quality product toyota is selling on their vehicles.
On march 16th 2007 i was driving from my home in fort myers florida to a business meeting in clearwater florida.i was driving on interstate 75 going north.i was approximately a quarter of a mile from the skyway bridge.since this is a toll bridge i was decreasing in speed getting ready to make a stop,at that time, therewas a loud explosion and before i could think i was beginning to lose control of the car.the explosion or implosion was the rear driver side tire completely came off the rim of the car.this sent me into a tail spin trying to control the car at which time the car came up on two wheels.i then proceeded into the ditch and was able to stop the car.i then called roadside assistance which the tow truck driver stated he never saw anything like this.we were able to get a spare tire on the car so that i could drive to a tire shop to have the tire replaced.this was a nightmare to say the least.i first called the dealership since i happened to purchase the car from a dealership in which my business meeting was being held.the car dealership mastro motors stated that they do not keep tires in stock.i explained this care almost killed me and the response was that i purchased tire insurance to call them.i then called subrau only to be told that they do not warranty the tires and that i would have to call bridgestone.i then called bridgestone and they were not able to help me find an athorized service center.i then found a firestone tire outlet in which after driving around all weekend on a spare tire were finally able to get the correct tire for my car and replace it.i now have the tire that exploded on in my possesion as proof that this tire is clearly a defect as i have not owned my car more that six months.i purchased this car new and it has about 5400 miles total on the car.at this time i do not feel safe with the tires on this car.
At first, i thought we had a pebble in our tread as we motored on a secondary, paved road. Upon turning on highway 11 the sound heightened, so we pulled to side of road to find a flat on the right rear. After changing tire iseveral times closely observed the flat tire finding no holes or cuts. The toyota dealer found a slash, allegedly, and placed 3 plugs. I am reporting this incident in the event it fits into a larger pattern of failures with this tire model. Mahalo and thanks. (tiresize: p175/65r14)( dot number:tire size: p175/65r14 )
The contact owns a set of bridgestone run flat potenza tires on a 2007 bmw 328i. While driving 25 mph, the contact heard a clicking noise. After examining the vehicle, the contact noticed that the tread was disconnected from the tire. The contact spoke with the manufacturer about related run flat tire complaints and they advised the contact to have the vehicle inspected by a dealer. The dealer stated they had never seen that form of tread separation; however, the failure was due to normal wear and tear. The contact would like for the manufacturer to assume the repair cost.

I bought a brand new 05 toyota tacoma x-runner, it had about 1,500 mile on the car and the tire had a gash on it all across. It was the passanger side rear tire. The tires come stock from the dealer. I had a problem trying to change it with firestone dealer but after the third firestone dealer they decided to change only the one with the gash. I'm a little worried that the other ones are going to get the gash and might cause me to have an accident. The tires are bridgestone potenza re050 bl 255/45r18 99v. Immediately, the vehicle was driven to the side of the road. The rear driver side tire had slightly flattened; and replaced with the spare tire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they referred him to a tire center for the tire diagnosis. The tire center informed that the tire shredded from the tire rim. Right rear tire went flat. While requesting repair, dealer indicated steel belts were beginning to protrude through carcass. Upon visual inspection of the undamaged left rear tire, observed the same phenomenon. All tires had only an estimated 5 - 10 thousand miles tread remaining. These tires were rotated in accordance with manufacturer's recommendation and maintained at 32 psi pressure. Car is in excellent mechanical condition with no front end damage nor alignment anomalies. As a result of the defects noted on both rear tires chose to replace all four tires.( dot number: tire size: p205/65r15 )
I purchased a 2009 pontiac g8 gt in september.i live in southeast michigan.according the pontiac website http://www.pontiac.com/g8-2009/specs-features my vehicle was equipped (standard equipment) with all-season tires.my particular vehicle has summer only tires, making it unsafe to drive in the winter months. There is no mention of this dangerous restriction on my vehicle or window sticker or dealer paperwork.luckily i realized this before driving in winter conditions which easily could have lead to a serious crash.
I have owned a 2003 issan 350z for almost 1 year and in that time i have had several problems with the car that nissan denied until pressed. The tire feathering problem is well known but had been denied knowledge of the problem when speaking to nissan. The radio in the car is also a well known problem which they also denied any knowledge of. They replaced the front tires but mamy people have stated this problem will return. I deserve a guarantee that if this problem persists that nissan will replace the tires as needed.

1. We were driving down the highway at 60 mph and the car began shaking harder and harder.2.the tire's sidewall was completely shredded on both sides, as if it were defective.3.the tire will have to be replaced, but it is no longer under warranty as of last month.
*am
I have bridgestone potenza p215/45zr17 tires on my car..the tires don't have even 10000 miles and i already had to get 3 new tires and 2 to be fixed... Cause of two are unknowed ...i think it was a pot hole in the road... Rest are nails in tires... I'm driving on normal us city roads. No dirt roads, no beach driving, no snow driving. And the nails find home in my tires. I understand sometimes nail get in your tire, but most of the time you drove somewhere that you suppose to not be driving(constructions and stuff like this) but my tires are poped by normal small to medium size nails on normal straight roads... In my option the tires are made out of cheap rubber which is not strong enough to withsand the nail or other small sharp objects.

I was driving 65 mph on route 495 after leaving route 66 from vienna, va. I was getting an uneven light thump feeling like i was driving lined pavement, but it is not on 495. I had a very strong pull of the steering wheel, and i checked my mirrors to see if i may have run over something. I saw the full circular part of my right front tire rolling across the highway behind me. I had to grab the steering wheel tightly to bring the vehicle across three lanes of highway to the breakdown lane. I was helped with putting on my spare tire, but only had about an inch of rubber left on the rim of my wheel. I drove to the waldorf office of tires plus on the spare and had the tire replaced the next morning after they found a replacement at approximately half price based on mileage.

This is in reference to the audi recall referencing replacement of tires to meet axle weight of vehicle. First by looking at the specs of the tires they installed they partially met the recall criteria.secondly, by choosing to take the original performance "all season" tires off the vehicle in the present winter season and replacing them with a performance "summer" tire without telling me (the consumer) of the type of tires they installed and sending me on my way assuring me that my safety concerns with the recall had been met, both audi usa, and audi phil long dealership configured the vehicle to be unsafe for normal operation.the recall criteria was not met, additionally by taking away the all season tires and replacing them with summer tires in winter season without advising the consumer prior to releasing the vehicle generated a new hazard.as a result the vehicle handling characteristics changed, vehicle did not respond as driver was accustomed prior to recall, and as a result during icy road conditions the vehicle slid and suffered damages.audi usa does not accept responsibility, nor phil long dealership.the recall attempted to meet one hazard, and by the choice of tires chosen as replacement without consideration of vehicle location, and failure to advise consumer of replacement tires specifications and limitations generated a greater hazard.

Purchased 2007 pontiac grand prix gxp new, with 98 miles on odometer, in march, 2007. Bridgestone potenza tires on all four wheels as oem. Tires lose air (checked with professional tire gauge every week), down to 24 psi in all 4 tires, at same ambient temp, cold tires. When tires are cold, they run as if they are square. Bumping along, steering wheel shuddering side to side.taken to dealer. They force-variance balanced all wheels/tires and aligned vehicle, including engine cradle. Car still had slight steering shudder, became worse over the next few hundred miles. Taken back to dealer. They state tires "out of round" but did not do anything to correct the situation except to add air, and tell me that one tire threw a balancing weight. Overall, even with proper inflation, proper alignment of all components (steering and engine cradle), including proper force-variance balancing, the tires cause the vehicle to pull violently left or right, depending on the angle or crown of the road. Also, pull so hard going over road imperfections, that steering wheel comes out of my hands.drove several other identical vehicles with other brand (pirelli) tires, with no problem. Defective tires at all four wheels. Bridgestone potenza's. Have requested that service manager replace all four tires with pirelli's (they are the only other manufacturer which makes 18" tires compatible with my gxp, which uses two separate tire sizes for front and back. The bridgestone tires are dangerous and should be recalled or replaced.

I bought a 2004 350z convertible in september, 2004 from marion dinwiddie at hudiburg oklahoma city. I have another car with front wheel drive which i drove when the roads were bad recently i got a letter stating there was a recall on the alignment. I starting checking on the tires and found out that the tires, bridgestone potenza re040. Are summer tires and are not to be driven on snow and ice. I got this information from tirerack.com, which gives ratings on all the tires available in the united states. There were numerous complaints about these tires in customer reviews. When i bought the nissan i was not told that these were summer only tires. I consider this criminal! by not telling people this information i am sure that there have been a lot of wrecks and possibly fatalities due to someone driving in winter conditions. If i had known the nissan had summer tires on it i would have insisted they replace them with all season performance tires. By not telling the consumer about this is putting lives at risk and if i had not owned another car, i probably would have been in a wreck or been killed myself and others! this is an outright criminal act and nissan should be held responsible.i called eric at the main nissan office and filed a complaint and he told me that the dealer was responsible for putting on the tires. The dealer denies this. I am not going to play games and i hope you can help me and everyone else who is driving these cars . From all the reviews i read, these tires fall apart at about 10-15,000 miles. When i buy a $40,000 dollar car, i expect high performance all season tires and they had better last more than 15,000 miles!i feel ripped off and more importantly nissan has put my life and the lives of others in great danger. I think they deserve more that a slap on the hand, don't you agree? winter is just around the corner and for some it has already started!please do something quickly, lives are at stake here!sincerely, me.

With less that 1" inch of snow on the ground, my car completed a 360 degree spin on route 48 by taylorville, il while going 45 miles an hour.i was the slowest car on the road.my car is a 2004 nissan 350z with bridgestone potenza re040 tires.this is the second "spin" on those tires.the other spin was 180 degrees while going less than 25 mph.it has taken me 3 minutes to get my car in the garage when there is any snow on the driveway.please note that the distance from the street to my garage is probably less than 60 feet.
Front tires (bridgestone) are extremely feathered on the inside of tire causing road noise, drifting to the right and a dangerous driving condition. This started around 8,000 miles.

Bridgestone potenza tires p225/50wr17(front) and p235/50wr17 (rear)on 2005 nissan z350 touring edition:do we have to have people killed before this is looked into!car has just 1,600 miles, yes not even 2,000, one month old.these tires will not drive safely on this car.snowedhere in washington dc area on 19jan05...wife could not move the car from a red light without rear end fish-tailing at 3 mph.could not move...help had to hand push her to side of a road. I made it to her after 3 hours.police wanted to give me a ticket for not having all weather tires, m/s on the car, for holding up traffic because the car would not move.i had no idea the tires were not m/s.i got in car and it would not move, even when removing the traction button.skidding/fish tailing will get you killed; these tires will not make it in snowy parts of the us.why have they not tested these tires on snow cover roads.my wife is scared to death to drive the car now.i'm stuck with a car that is not even safe.i will let many know not to buy this car with this tire.nowever, there is a z350, 2003 model on the lot of the dealer with michelin m/s all weather on it.not on these bridgestone potenzas!!!why did nissan change from michelin to the bridgestone.the dealer will tell me to go to a tire company, the tire company already is telling me to go back to the dealer.please nhtsa, stop this from getting people potentially injured or killed.lj.

We have owned this tt for just over a year and we have experienced 2 very serious tire blowouts on the highway that could have caused serious accidents.we only drive this vehicle on well-maintained surface roads and highways (no back-country driving, no off-roading).additionally, we were not changing lanes, did not hit any potholes, or doing any evasive manuevers when both incidences occurred.we have taken this car to all scheduled maintenances.as we have now had two close calls, it has made us very concerned about this tire's safety and reliability.all calls to audi dealerships and bridgestone retailers have been met with little support or desire to investigate.one more thing, we have a third tire (right front) that is starting to bubble on the side wall. I purchased four new bridgestone "potenza re900" tires for my 1999 toyota camry le sedan from costco wholesale(72800 dinah shore dr, palm desert, ca 92211 (760) 202-1362) in early may. Two weeks later while driving to morning church (approx. 45 mph) i heard a large "boom" and discovered the left rear tire had exploded.i drove to the nearest gas station where they installed the same model spare tire.i returned to costco and they replaced the spare with a new bridgestone potenza re900 tire.last saturday evening about 6:00pm (june 21, 2003) while driving home to palm springs on highway 10 at approximately 55 mph, i heard another loud noise and discovered another bridgestone potenza re900 tire had exploded. Luckily, someone stopped and replaced it with the spare so i could get home. Again, i returned to costco where they replaced it with another bridgestone potenza re900 tire.in my opinion, costco's manager, aware of the problems with this particular tire should have:1. Immediately pulled them from the inventory so that this model could not be sold to other customers2. Reported this costco management... Who, immediately, should have pulled them from the inventory of every store3. Reported this incident to bridgestone/firestone 4. Reported this incident to the nhtsa.what should be my next recourse of action?i look forward to receiving a prompt response concerning this very serious matter.sincerely, mildred madsen.1370 adobe waypalm springs, ca 92262email: [email protected]: (760) 323-4683.

There is a tire separation problem with the latest set of bridgestone tires that we received from the toyota dealer for our prius. The original tires were recalled due to premature wear. The rear left tire separated and my daughter luckily was able to control the vehicle on the freeway at under 55 mph. She noticed the problem immediately when she got on the freeway or she might have lost control.for an example of the separation, see: http://www.firestone-tire-recall.com/pages/advocate/11-13.htmlwe had the same problem with the left rear and same new condition as link above.

Automobile will randomly veer or drift in either direction. Action is more severe when road surface is less even, but it can occur at slow speed on smooth street. Dealer has checked and performed alignment and otherwise checked out this condition. Dealer stated it is "normal" for sports tires to do this.
I was driving at approximately 40 mph and the tire blew out.i went home and put on my "donut" to find out that the blow out occurred on the inside of the tire close to the tire wheel interface.i called my serviceman and had my two back wheels replaced.

My vehicle, a 2003 honda odyssey, is completely unsafe in snow/ice, no matter how little snow or ice.less than 2 years old, it has only 23,000 miles and all original manufacturer equipment and tires.all regular maintenance has been done at the honda dealer where it was purchased.vehicle lacks traction in snow or ice, wheels spinning out of control (whether traction control system is on or off).vehicle cannot go up slightest incline.cannot stop normally in any kind of snow or ice, skidding past destination (taking me through a red light with children in back seats).a huge safety concern / risk.both manufacturer and dealer refuse to address the problem saying that abs and other equipment is working properly.dealer alleges problem is tires.given low mileage and factory original tires, this does not make sense to me.neither is willing to do anything.this vehicle is the most unsafe vehicle that i've ever had. To further clarify, i very much like honda - so much so that i also own a civic.however, my civic handles snow extremely well, while the odyssey is very, very dangerous.

I purchased a brand new set of potenza's on the dec 7. I had them mounted on in the afternoon dec 8. Went straight home 10 miles away. On dec 9, i noticed my car would swerve a bit i was entering the freeway, i spun out six or seven times at 45 mph. When i pulled over i saw that i was driving on my rim, my tire on the right rear side wasn't on. I retrieved the tire. The tread and wall tore away from each other. Even though i did not hit anyone/anything from the spin out, my car, a 2005 model, is considered a total wreck from all the damages that resulted from the tire loss.

This is the third tire failure since i received my s4. A fellow motorist noticed a large bubble in the sidewall of the right front tire. This tire is a replacement tire that was installed after the original failed. There is obviously some problem or defect with these tires. I have been in touch with other s4 owners and many of them complain about these sidewall bulges. The fact that bridgestone denies any problem and will not replace the tires free of charge is ridiculous. I do not feel safe driving this car with these tires. Pressure needs to be put on audi and bridgestone to either reimburse us for the tires and replace them free of charge, or to supply us with a new improved or different tire. These tires should be recalled immediately because they are unreliable and unsafe. A blowout in the sidewall of a tire at highway speed can cause a serious accident after which a serious lawsuit would follow.( dot number: ejh8cfe279 tire size: p225/45r17 )
My wife and granddaughter where driving home when the front right side tire side wall failed at 50mph and the tire departed the cars rim.luckily my wife was able to maintain control of the car and was traveling at a safe speed and was able to stop the car on the rim only safely.i check tire pressure and maintainit to car and tire manufactures specifications on our ford mustang since it is a high performance tire and car.i 'am extremely upset at bridgestone as this tire should not have failed and compromised the safety of my wife and grandchild.

Driving along the freeway at 60 mph, the left rear tire had a blowout. Upon inspection it was the interior sidewall where the failure occurred.i noticed that in the specific location of the failure, the sidewall was extremely soft; unlike the rest of the sidewall.the tire was taken back to costco; but they refused to accept that it was a defective tire.the tire had 25,000 miles on it; driven conservatively.i do still have the failed tire, and two other tires just like it are still on the car.the tire is a bridgestone potenza 205/55r16 91w, ultra high performance.

3 of 4 bridgestone potenza re-950 tires, size 235/45/r17 93h tires have experienced delamination of the tread on the inside wear edge; alignment on my audi a4 has been verified to meet manufacturer spec, yet the inside edges of the tires have broken open to expose layers of tire and the integrity of the tire has been breached. In one case, a 8 inch by 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch section completely gave way and flew off the tire. These tires were discontinued by bridgestone and i now know why. I replaced all 4 tires with bridgestone g09's and i have not had this problem reoccur. Note, system will not accept audi a4 as vehicle type, so i used toyota; i do have a 3.0l a4 quattro.

Took it to a bmw deal who replaced a fuel pump. While driving in a middle lane on i-270, i sudenly became aware of a bumping noise.i pulled over to the right shoulder through several lanes of traffic.when i checked the tires, i saw that the sidewall of my passenger side rear tire had become completely disattached from the tread.the tire was original equipment on my 2003 subaru outback.a firestone dealer inspected the tire in detail, but could find no puncture or other cause of tire failure besides spontaneous disintegration.firestone wanted $56 to replace it under warranty, after treadwear measurement, even though tire had only 6800 miles on it.
The tires were on the toyota when purchased.the driver's front tire failed as my wife was driving on the 101 northbound for sun city.there were several large holes in the side wall.the dealer stated that this could be due to low tire pressure.however, the pressure in the tires were checked within the seven days of the tire failure---atleast we were told that they had been checked as part of the service we paid for.the full tire size number was p205/65/r15 92t---more numbers than allowed in the previous blank.if low air pressure could cause this type of damage on a tire, then it seems to me that regulations should require greater tolerance in tire pressure.nlm
Tire had a bubble on the sidewall after driving only 1500 miles.bridgestone say's it's due to roadhazard.i don't recall hitting anything, but i can't rule it out.bridgestone has never actually inspected the tire.lexus replaced the tire at a cost of $285. The service manager at lexus, mike jackson, said there is a risk you take from driving on "low profile" tires. I told him if i knew i would have to take a risk driving a $31,000 car i never would have purchased it.he recommended i purchase the smaller 16" wheels and tires, at an additional cost. At the time of purchase all four wheels were aligned.now at 75,000 miles, these tires have developed circumferential cracks around the inner sidewalls adjacent to the treads. I was shocked and scared to find these cracks earlier today. I had thought bridgestone made good tires, but these cracked tires prove that i was wrong. Cracks like these will definitely lead to tire tread separation at any time and it will be disastrous. I feel really fortunately that i discovered them before i got killed. I cannot imagine any tire manufacturer will make such inferior and dangerous products. These are not inexpensive tires- i paid more than $500 for them, and they have now failed after only 7200 gentle miles. Attached are digital photos showing the cracks. I am writing to demand a full refund from bridgestone. At this time i am considering making this known to the general public through the media. I may also notify the nhtsa so they may start an investigation.marcus lo

I still have the three tires with the 800 miles on them in storage. You can have them for your investagation. ( dot number: tire size: 225/45zr17 )
Have a bubble on 2 bridgestone potenzas run flat, oem.car and tires have 10,500 miles. Tires are diagonally opposite, rear driver and front passenger side. 1) front 245/40/19 run flat and 2) rear 275/40/19. Have not hit potholes. Wrote to bridgestone - no reply, on the website they claim that they respond within 3 working days. Also took car to bridgestone/firestone dealer in westbury, ny.they deny that this is a manufacturer defect. I believe that this is a manufacturer defect given that: 1. Tires did not hit a pothole, even if it did, hopefully they are designed to hit potholes, at least some of the time; 2) this happened within 10,000 miles; 3) they are on diagonally opposite sides, 4) they happened as a result of inner and outer linings not having been glued well in the manufacturing process. The manufacturers have not even bothered to document the complain to assess if there indeed is a manufacturing problem.

I purchased a brand new 2006 bmw 330i with oem bridgestone potenza re050a runflat tires.the tires buckled on the side wall after less than 8000k miles. Out of curiosity i checked the bimmerfest -http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146728 forum and discovered this is a widespread problem among bmw owners.
The side wall blew out at 75 mph on the first 100 + degree day. Bridgestones rep claimed that there was maybe an indication of nail damage; however the tire was too badly damaged to be sure. Next, it had been run flat, however that would have been quickly apparent in the engine noise with the cv trans. They failed to honor their warranty, admitting that doing so would raise a red flag at the nhtsa.

I installed bridgestone potenza tires on my wife's subaru. After less than 500 miles the sidewall delaminated, almost completely. Pressure was 32 lb and there had been no previous signs of problems. When i called tirerack, the vendor, they at first claimed that there was no warrranty from the manufacturer and then claimed that the tire must have been damaged in an accident. I have returned all four tires and consider that this tire presents a hazard to safety.
Sidewall bulge on tire. Unknown cause.
I have had two bridgestone potenza re930 p19570r14 tires fail.both had sidewall blowouts after a brief period of highway travel.the tires are on a well-maintained collector vehicle that is rarely driven at highway speeds.something seems to happen to these tires when they are heated up by highway travel & then cooled down.the nhtsa database shows numerous sidewall blowouts with these tires.there must be a design or manufacturing problem with them.
1.events leading to failure:no abnormal events prior to failure (no tire visual indications, no sounds, normal steering and suspension behavior, no tire impacts).tire pressure checked monthly and tires rotated regularly (~ every 8,000 mi).2.failure and its consequences:a single oem tire (bridgestone potenza p225/60r16 e92qz) with 43,700 miles lost all pressure due to failure of sidewall, with separation apparent around entire circumference of tire.failure occurred while parked on level parking lot surface after driving 10 minutes at moderate speed.3.what was done to correct the failure; i.e, parts repaired or replaced (and if old part is available):intend to replace tire shortly.old tire is available.photos available.

Both right side tires developed 2-3 in. "blisters" in the outside sidewall, apparently after hitting either a curb or pothole.i had the car towed to my nearest lexus dealer (albuquerque), but lexus would not replace the tires even after i informed them of similar problems with audi tires.i eventually replaced the tires myself at a cost of $400. I bought my 2006 pontiac gto end of july 2006, and since then there has been a clicking noise.i've taken it to the dealership, and the service department claims it was the strut making the noise.i have taken it in over 3 times for the same noise, but the noise still remains.the dealership had to replace the left strut because it complete came out.shortly after the strut was replaced i had a tire completely pop.i had to replace my tires (not even 2 years of purchasing the vehicle).second problem, the sway bar had to be replace.it started as clicking noises, turned into rattling, and the shaking of the vechile when in drive. Third problem, gas door fell off by itself and so did ac vent on driver side door.fourth, the keys don't always unlock the door when the unlock button is pressed.fifth, the unlock/lock button inside gets stuck.sixth, the orange tab on the shifter wouldn't shift into right gear (dealership had to fix).finally, the windsheild sprayers were spraying over the windows and that too had to be fixed at the dealership.
1. The toyota prius has an alignment defect that wore out my tires prematurely.. The car rode on the wall and inner tread of the tire wearing it down to the nylon and wire before it popped3. New tires were put on the car.
This is the second tire failure in less than 4000 miles. Once again while washing my car, i discovered a bulge in the sidewall. This problem seems to occur approximately every 1900 miles. I contacted bridgestone and the representative said that since these tires have a low profile sidewall, they are prone to damage from driving on "rough" roads. I told him that i understand that i live in new york city where the roads may be "rough"but that low profile tires are supposed to be engineered with a stronger sidewall to absorb any "roughness" in the road. This is why they cost significantly more than tires with a larger sidewall. As an engineer, i know that the sidewall should be strengthened on a low profile tire to prevent damage and reduce the risk of a failure or an accident. I believe that these tires are unsafe unless they are used only on perfectly smooth roads. I still had to pay $125, half price for a new tire, and i am not satisfied with the answers i received at all. I am very disappointed in the quality of these tires as well as concerened for my safety while driving with these tires. It is ridiculous that normal everyday driving would cause two identical tire failures in less than 4000 miles on a brand new car. The manufacturer insists thatthere is no defect and that there is no problem with the tires. How can this be? my family and i have been driving on the same roads for years with various different cars equipped with various types of tires and have never encountered tire problems before. One more point of interest is that on the bridgestone website, the potenza re-040 tires are not even listed in the catalog. This seems strange to me. Perhaps there is a problem or a recall and the manufacturer just does not want to stay. I will be keeping my fingers crossed and will regularly check the condition of these tires, though it may be in my best interest to change all the tires to another brand altogether.

Car was delivered on june 4th 2000.from the time i drove off the lot the vehicle slightly steered towards the right.i was told by different dealer service departments it was either the tire pressure or the crowning in the roads.i asked ogner motors in woodland hills to rotate the tires and perform further evaluation.they found one of my tires to be defective.apparently the sidewall of the tire in question failed.they are awaiting a replacement tire form the manufacturer...i am concerned about the other three tires on the vehicle considering i have heard numerous report via audiworld.com that these tires are extremely sucseptible to sidewall (bubbles) failure.
Two front tires wore out prematurely. Dealer says the remedy for this problem is to rotate the tires and keep the appropriate tire pressure.
While driving at about 40 mphback right tire went flat instantly without warning. Tire make: bridgestone potenza p195/55r15. The tire showed no signs of wear or damage and was only driven on for 25,000 miles.i took it to a repair shop (pepboys) and they found that the inside steel belt had broke and caused the tire to fail.i replaced that tire with another brand (cost $100), and still have the damaged bridgestone tire for evidence.
Driving on highway when steering wheel became shake back and forth hard to control. Stopped auto found that belts had broken in the tires and that tread had shifted to where it was no longer straight.
Front tires (bridgestone) are extremely feathered on the inside of tire causing road noise, drifting to the right and a dangerous driving condition. This started around 8,000 miles.
While driving on the highway under normal circumstances suddenly the car started vibrating, first lightly then harder. I pulled over and saw the problem, one of the tires shredded the tread and then it just 'auto-destroyed'.it's under warranty (less than one year and only 13000 miles) but am reporting it just in case i'm not the only one with this problem.( dot number:)

The tires on our 2001 prius continually fail after about 15,000 miles. We have had state inspections fail because of tread wear, refused service at bridgestone dealers because of tread wear. With less than 50k miles we are working on the third set of tires. We check pressure and rotate our tires regularly.since toyota claims there are no replacements and no tread wear warranties, we think the car should no longer be allowed on the us market.*nlm

I currently own a 2004 nissan 350z and i'm experiencing a problem with severe front tire feathering.i have made nissan aware of this problem which cause a loud roaring noise and vibration during braking.i originally thought the problem was my brakes but after just 10k000 miles replaced the front brakes and realized this did not fix the problem.after my second time to the dealership i was informed that my front tires were no longer good and need to be replaced at just under 14000 miles.i was told that this was a design flaw with the tires and possibly a toeing problem with the nissan 350z's.i registered a complaint to nissan at 1800-nissan-1 and it doesn't seem as though they will resolve this problem.this problem also occured with 2003 350z's.
2004 nissan 350z tires in front on inside cupping. Dealer told me they will not do anything to fix, wants me to buy new tires. I have contacted everyone at nissan with no help. Plan to park car at dealer with sign "don't but a nissan ask me why" with my mane and phone number.

I'm reporting this for my friend with a 2005 toyota x-runner with the original oem bridgestone potenza re050 18" tires.the tire has a split all the way across the right rear tire that looks as if it is a gash.looked at all of the other tires and the right front one is just starting to show signs of splitting in the same manner.vehicle has just about 3,000 miles. Many other people i know that have x-runners are having the same exact problem, some of which have all 4 tires that are split.the dot # on all 4 tires on this truck are y79b jac 0805.other tires i've seen affected have different dot #'s as well.as of now, nothing has been tried to fix the problem as many people i know with have had a hard time trying to get them replaced as bridgestone/firestone will not admit a defect yet.i have taken a couple pictures that are at the following links for your examination.right rear tirehttp://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a193/14asg/picture165.jpghttp://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a193/14asg/picture164.jpghttp://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a193/14asg/picture166.jpgright front tirehttp://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a193/14asg/picture172.jpg
Tire tread coming apart on bridgestone potenza re92 tires. Oringinal equipment on 2005 subaru baja.
The tires showed no obvious defects, they were balanced about a month prior to the incident.while driving on the highway the left rear tire suddenly came apart.it was not a blow out or puncture.the inside tire tread delaminated from the tire and the steel belt was showing.once i pulled over i noticed the same wear was on the right rear tire also.the same exact model tires were put on by the dealer on july 17th.are these safe tires?( dot number: tire size: 15 )
2005 toyota tacoma x-runner purchased the truck in august of 2005 with 2k miles on it and noticed there is a large crack across the rear right tire. I would like to inform you that other people with the same truck are having the same problems. I'm not sure if this is a safety issue yet.

Tires on vehicle are coming apart on the inside tread line after approximately 5,000 miles of use.we had one crash where car could not be stopped in time.did not put the crash together with the tire problem until recently.
I am currently driving a 2005 toyota tacoma x runner. There are cracks across the treads of at least two of the four tires on the truck (bridgestone potenza tires). I went to a bridgestone shop and they told me to drive across the street and talk to the toyota dealership. The toyota dealership told me there was nothing they could do. I do not feel safe driving a vehicle with cracks across the entire tread face. I am not the only person with this problem, nearly all of the x runner drivers have the same problem; some of which get the tires replaced or get the run-around like myself. Please help me. I am a college student and i need safe transportation.

Front tires need replacing too quickly. Front end design problem.
The tires that come on honda s 2000 automobiles are often exhibiting a tread wear life of only 6,000 miles or so, before the tread becomes unsafe in wet weather. At 10,000 miles, wear is often so the steel belts show through. Neither honda or bridgestone (the tire maker) is taking any responsibility for this.all of these cars are effected by this problem, so the cause seems to be from one or more batches of defective tires.it is not known how many injuries, damage, or fatalities have resulted. However, it is beyond dispute that "bald" tires, and those with the steel belts in contact with the road, constitute a public safety hazard that your agency should investigate.*nlm
The contact owns a 2011 hyundai genesis equipped with bridgestone potenza tires, size: 225/45/r18 (na). While driving 65 mph, there was an abnormal noise and vibration on the front driver side of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for inspection. The contact was informed that the vibration was due to tread separation, which caused a bubble in the inner tread of the tire. The tire was not replaced. The tire was original equipment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage of the tire and vehicle was 21,000.

Continuous unreliability in the bridgestone potenza re050a run flat tires. I've had both rear tires fail early and now my front ones are also expiring long before they should. I have cupping issues as well and the bmw dealership is unwilling to assist with the known problem. On top of that the tires have been on emergency back order and are impossible to get in the event of a problem like i've suffered twice.

I just recently purchased a 2005 toyota tacoma x-runner that has bridgestone potenza re050a tires on it. I have been reading some forums and talked to the previous owner lately and i am under the understanding that these tires have been cracking. I have been told that the tires are getting replaced by firestone dealers under a defect warranty. I have already been directed to call an 800 number on the issue (which i called) and they acted/said that they have not heard of this issue and told me to go to a bidgestone/firestone dealer. I went to a dealer in town and they told me to go to a firestone retailer. I've been going on this big run around now for about a month. There has been a lot of controversy on this issue and i am contacting you to try to get headed in the right direction of solving this issue. Have you heard of this and/or do you know the best way to handle this issue.
2003 nissan 350 z - front tires are feathering on the inside tread with 4000 miles on the vehicle.

2003 nissan 350z tire feathering and excessive wear.my 2003 350z has 6,000 miles on the odometer and my front tires have experienced excessive wear on the innner edge due to factory alignment/weighting specifications..a tsb was performed to fix this problem temporarily by switching the tires.my primary complaint is that the traction on the outer edge of my tires are gone.i have concerns going into corners, even at the recommended speed limit.nissan has yet to create a permanent fix for this issue.this problem, i know, has impacted many 2003 350z owners.there is no reason one should have to worry about a new or at least relatively new car when taking turns at the recommended speed limit.nissan needs to fix this issue immediately.thank you!
Front tires on my vehicle are feathering due to suspension problems. Manufacturer will not fix the mechanical problem. It is a nissan 350z 2003 under warranty with 8000 miles. Have had 3 tire inspections by different tire manufacturer's, all point toward suspension defect. Traction is less then 100%
Oem tires on the 2005 subaru legacy gt are dangerous.just two months after purchasing our vehicle we were caught in an ice storm.while attempting to navigate a gas station at extremely low speeds the car lost traction and ran into a pole in front of a fuel pump.we own a non-awd vehicle and it has never lost traction at such low speeds on ice.we also noticed it did not handle well in the rain, though in snow it was marginally better but still dangerously easy to lose traction if the snow was packed any.decided to purchase snow tires because travel in the winter was dangerous.now, we've had to replace the oem tires because of premature wear -- they have less than 20,000 miles on them and the rear tires are nearly bald.all paid for out of pocket -- subaru claims no responsibility over the tires since they don't manufacture them and they aren't covered by warranty and continues to put them on their vehicles.subaru needs to recall the tires and give people tires that can actually handle real-world conditions.the dropdown menu for the tires is incorrect -- these are 17" tires, standard for the gt ltd.

My honda s2000, which was purchased new in june of 2002 came with bridgestone potenza so-2 tires front and rear. This vehicle is used as a third vehicle in a two driver household, and is used only as a daily commuter car to travel 15 miles to work (round trip). I took the vehicle in for my state inspection, and at 6100 miles, the rear tires were down below 2/32 of tread depth and the front tires were feathered badly on the inside edges (both) and tread was below 5/32 of depth. I have seen many posts of people with these tires who have had tread life well below 10k miles under lite driving conditions, while others claim up to 20k, even under heavy conditions. The tires were unacceptable in the rain after about 4000 miles on it as the rear would fishtail even under the lightest of cornering. I have brought this to the attention of honda and bridgestone/fireston, and no one seems to want to fess up to a possible problem with certain batches of the tire having too soft a compund, or design spec issues. This is a serious potential problem. If i had driven the vehicle more often, i would have run the risk of having a tire problem (blowout or loss of control) due to unacceptable tire wear on the drive wheels.

Current 2003 350z has a problem with tire feathering/ tire cupping on the inside tread of the tires. The problem is caused by to much tow on the 2003 model.

Bridgestone findings:1.tire was operated for an unknown period of time with insufficient air pressure to carry the load2.insufficient air pressure condition is evidenced by the tattered sidewalls and the melted innerliner, and was the cause of the subsequent damage3. Tire failure did not result from a defect in either materials or workmanshipon 5/3/2005 i requested that the case be sent to arbitration. No response yet from bridgestone.

Called honda re: campaign #99i002000 & was told that this is an error and does not apply to the accord but only to the 96 civic. My accord's accelerator seems to have the same problem of "the accelerator pedal feels rough or notchy when you press it" and "and "are required to move the accelerator pedal to make slight speed adjustments". You can really feel this when accelerating from a stopped position and the car either accelerates too slow and/or when adjusting for more acceleration it then accelerates too fast and not smoothly. Find that i have to really focus my attention on the use of the accelerator for fear the car will advance too quickly on ice and/or run into the car ahead of me. Dealer states this is the way the car operates.( dot number: y7lx 00l tire size: 185/65r15 )
